Although not on the Grand Canal, the location was still relatively convenient - though no view. Room was clean and comfortable at a reasonable price.

Comfortable, simple and clean. Good location near the Academia. Staff is efficient and, with the exception of one woman at the reception, very friendly and accommodating.

This hotel is located in the district of Dorsoduro with many quaint little shops and eating places to explore nearby. There's a delightful gelato shop "GROM" just round the corner that serves divine gelato n hot chocolate! Do note that even though it is mentioned that there is complimentary Internet access under the rooms description, it doesn't mean you are able to access Internet in the room. It just means you have free access to their Internet point, a desktop located in the lobby (there were some technical glitches while I was there). Otherwise Internet is charged at 5 euros per half hour. Another point to note: I visited Venice in the first week of December and many shops were closed. I absolutely recommend this hotel. The neighborhood is quiet but convenient. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff is VERY helpful. They organized a FREE trip to Murano for us: sending a free private water taxi to come pick us up and take us to a glass-blowing demonstration. They also make all new guests a "welcome drink" on their first night […] - absolutely delightful. And the breakfast is filling and diverse: croissants, meats, cheeses, yogurt, fruit, juice, coffee and tea. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Continua a leggere

I stayed here with my boyfriend after finishing up a tour. This hotel is located in the Dorsoduro neighborhood which is only a 10 minute walk to Al Ferrovia train station and 5 minute walk from Ca. Rezzonica vaporetto stop. It has old world charm and while it is close to a square with many restaurants and bars, its is still a quiet part of town. Staff was exceptionally accommodating and will hold luggage before/after check out for you. The upstairs portion of the hotel where the rooms are located has a large common room where our family of 6 convened for drinks and card games. Wi-fi price was reasonable. Free internet at their provided computer station---very convenient. Map the course from […] P Roma to the hotel if you intend to carry your luggage; no matter which way you go, you will go over at least 4 bridges. As you approach the hotel, don't be put off by the occasional graffiti and appearance of places being closed up--at no point was there any concern for our safety. Downstairs lounge area (the one near the bar of drinks) had foul odor of raw sewage so we did our meetups in the upstairs lounge area---our only complaint, but forgiven bc we are aware of the ancient sewer system of Venice and its accompanying problems. There is a store very close for sandwiches and drinks. Also, the plaza (P Margerita) looks like a mere fresh fish market by daytime, but by nightime, it is by far the most lively plaza of Venice with wine bars, clubs, restaurants, etc. Very popular with the young and young at heart :) Continua a leggere

Hotel Pausania is perfectly situated in Dorsoduro in Venice, away from the crowds, but yet close to major attractions (Venice is small, almost everything is close to everything else.) das hotel ist nicht direkt im zentrum, jedoch nur 10 min. zu fuss vom piazza s. marko. ich würde es weitrermpfehlen. grosse zimmer, guter service, feine frühstückbuffet, man kann nichts negatives sagen. einfach gut und nicht so teuer.

Wir wurden im Hotel von einem Herrn sehr nett empfangen. Nachdem uns unser Zimmer gezeigt wurde, war ich schon etwas enttäuscht, es muffelte und war nicht besonderes einladend. In der Dusche entdeckte ich dann Schimmel an der Decke und meldete dies. Uns wurde erklärt, dass am nächsten Tag die Putzfrau dies entfernen würde. Zwei Minuten später entdeckten […] wir ein schmutziges Handtuch und ein kleines Tier im Waschbecken. In so einem Fall bewähren sich Italienischkenntnisse. Der Herr an der Reception reagierte nach wie vor sehr freundlich und fast etwas bestürzt, als ich ihm dies zeigte. Er bemühte sich ein anderes Zimmer zu organisieren, obwohl dies nicht einfach war. Unser neues Zimmer war toll, mit beeindruckenden Malereien an der Decke, ein schönes Bad, wir waren sehr zufrieden. Allerdings ist das Bad bzw, die Dusche nur für "kleine" Leute geeignet, sonst stösst man mit dem Kopf an die Decke oder muss auf den Knien duschen:-). Da wir eine Sprachschule besucht haben, die zwei Minuten vom Hotel entfernt war, war die Lage für uns toll. Das Viertel hat eine sehr lebendige und schöne Atmosphäre mit den vielen Studenten. Es gibt schöne Restaurants und Cafes. Ins Zentrum (Markusplatz/Rialtobrücke) läuft man 20 Minuten. Wir würden wieder in dieses Hotel gehen, aber nur in ein Zimmer im oberen Stock. Die positive Zimmerbewertung bezieht sich nur auf das zweite Zimmer, ansonsten hätten wir negativ bewertet müssen. hotel d'un bon niveau ; compte-tenu des prix a Venise, le rapport qualite-prix est bon, d'autant plus que j'ai benefecie d'une promotion (sejour de plus de quatre jours). J'occupai seul une chambre double (il n'y a pas de single).C'etait tres confortable ainsi mais je pense que pour deux, la chambre n'est pas très grande.

Pausania ligger, som nästan allt i Venedig, nära det mesta. Området hör till det mindre turistiga "Dorsoduro", där du hittar fler italienare än skandinaver/tyskar/amerikaner, och där priserna på grund av det närliggande universitetet är något mer rimliga än i staden i övrigt. Hotellet är slitet, och frukostbuffén håller inte riktigt vad den lovar, men […] rummen är rena och personalen mycket trevlig. Rekommenderas för dig som inte kräver topprenoverat boende, och som söker charm i ett lugnare område. Continua a leggere

Bon accueil, cadre agréable et calme, chambre de très bonne qualité.

Hotellet ligger udemærket og i gå afstand til alle de største turist seværdigheder, dog var det ikke muligt for os at finde nogle ekstra gode restauranter indenfor 15 min gå afstand.

excellent emplacement tres bel hotel mais le petit dejeuner est encore tres irregulier : s'est ameliore mais nous avons eu le lundi matin un petit dejeuner minable ,tres decevant pour un trois etoiles, il n'y avait plus de buffet ni vienoiseries ni charcuterie
