IFA Dunamar Hotel San Bartolome de Tirajana

We booked on-line at short notice. We were touring the north of the island and decided to have two days of sunshine and relaxation before going home. Good points: very close to the beach with good walking to the dunes; all rooms seem to have a good sea view; several pools and no shortage of sun loungers; entertainment in bars if you like that sort […] of thing (but mostly bland international songs). Bad points: very large and busy hotel - if you prefer boutique hotels and don't like crowds don't stop here; everything is charged as an extra (€3.50 for a bottle of water left in room, €5 towel deposit etc.) even though the daily rate is not cheap; no parking and parking tickets given in the nearest square; no menu card in restaurant, only a large buffet (very impersonal); gate to beach normally did not work for re-entry; noisy area of town (but quiet in room with doors closed); loads of tacky shops next to hotel. Overall, our stay was very nice at the Dunamar. The hotel personnel were all very nice and seemed to be very cordial. The location was very nice, just across from the beach. When we arrived, our bags were missing from our flight; unfortunately the hotel was not able to provide much for us besides a toothbrush and a comb. Another disappointment was that […] we had to pay for all extras; the safe in our room had a fee as did towels at poolside, etc.. De reklamerer med gratis wi-fi, men det er bare gratis på hotellets egne hjemmesider. Diskvalifikasjon. Dyrt upraktisk og irriterende å få nettilgang.

Trivelig og sentralt hotell. Litt slitte møbler på rommene. God mat og trivelig atmosfære.

Ett fantastiskt fint hotell med ett underbart läge och vackratste utsikten jag skådat någongång. Fin mat, underhållning och atmosfär. Bor på hotell 200 nätter /år och det här var en av de trevligaste.

wir hatten 10.etage mit Meerblick gebucht. nach dem 3.anlauf haben wir mit Zuschlag von 20 euro/nacht auch ein solches zimmer gehabt. der service im haus war super. servicekräfte alle sehr freundlich. essen war abwechslungsreich und äußerst schmackhaft. einzige Kritik: happy hour. würde mit wünschen, dass ich gleiches Zimmer buchen kann. hotel ist empfehlenswert. […] auch wir werden im nächsten Jahr wieder da sein. barbara e. greit nok,men litt sure stuepiker og ellers var det ikke dyner som det burde være på fire stjerners hotell. Ikke barnebasseng eller noe for barn så ikke særlig barnevennlig men hyggelige folk i resepsjonen.

Hotel und Zimmer sehr gepflegt und sauber, sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Wir hatten einen tollen Urlaub - das Frühstücksbuffet ist sehr vielseitig und lässt keine Wünsche offen, die Pools sind sauber und gepflegt, die ganze Hotelanlage sehr schön gestaltet. Lage ist einmalig - nur ein kurzer Weg zum schönen Sandstrand und zu den Läden, […] Bars und Diskotheken. Wir können dieses Hotel nur weiterempfehlen und wenn wieder Gran Canaria, dann IFA Dunamar - sehr gutes P/L Verhältnis. Einziger, aber auch wirklich einziger negativer Punkt war die Haltung der Schildkröten an der Reception....diese haben uns bemittleidet !!! ....und die Kosten für den Safe mit EURO 2.-- pro Tag fanden wir auch etwas übertrieben - aber sonst, alles top !!! Muy recomendable, de los más cercanos a la playa para no tener que atravesar las dunas al estilo del último superviviente. Buenos servicios y el personal muy agradable, repetiría este Hotel en otro viaje a la isla.

Excellent hotel - Me and my wife spend a nice week at the Dunamar with our 4 year old son. A lot of pros, very few cons: Very easy access to the beach via guest only entrance on beach level. Breakfast buffee is huge with lots of choices. Excellent for the price. We tried the evening buffee one night, but it wasnt really to our taste. Our son loved […] the free icecream and cake part of the buffee though. :-) Room with views are very nice. Dunamar has a great view over both the sea, and the sand dunes of maspalomas. We where insanly lucky and happy to see we were upgraded from a standard room to a view room free of charge. It was a addicting experience and we'll probably cash out the extra money for the very nice view on our next stay. WIFI is not free but must be purchased at fair price. WIFI was pretty slow 0,3-1 Mb/s and had huge latency some nights, but it was usable. The safe was easily large enough to hold a laptop, and all the other necesseary gadgets I travel with. Most common nationality seemed to be german, and also some of hotel management where german. The staff spoke english fine enough to help us when needed. Our son loved the lobby with its little pond with turtles. Nice touch. He's pretty quiet, so we had no trouble fitting in at the breakfast buffee. They try to keep the restaurent a little high brow, which is understandable on a high class hotel, so I wouldn't feel comfortable bringing 2 noisy toddlers to the evening buffee. The breakfast could might be ok. This is the first hotel I have stayed on which I might book again in the future. Continua a leggere
