Fine for a place to sleep for the night. Room and creature comforts (fluffy towels) are certainly not on par with better quality chains, but the charming lobby, free breakfast and distance to local attractions make this a hotel for recommendation.

"Ok but not great"
I reserved through the 1-800 service, I requested a roll away bed but when we arrived at the hotel there were none available. The clerk was nice but unconcerned about the inconvience. The pool area was nice and the kids enjoyed the free breakfast. Overall it was a nice hotel.

"Great Stay for the Price"
My title says it all, Most have negative about the gentlemans club next door, but that did not affect my stay in anyway what so ever. Breakfast was great and plentiful. Coffee was hot all day and night. Fruit was left out all day and nite and cookies for the kids as well. Staff were outstanding and willing to help with any situation. great hotel....kinda wish we stayed longer
The room like just like the picture on the site. We sleep very well and enjoy the breakfast. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We notice the strip club but really didn't hear much from it. My kids enjoy the pools.We will be back to stay next vacation. The rooms sold me!

When we first arrived in the hotel room, it was very hot--hotel should have kept room at a respectable temperature. Second, they only clean the room until noon. So on the first day, we did not have our room cleaned which was disappointing--should have been told by hotel beforehand. The hotel seemed much nicer in the photos than when we got to our room. The room was clean. My wife and I always inspect it thouroughly on arrival. The beds were really comfortable. It was fairly close to Broadway and the Mall. Breakfast was good, make your own waffles, cereal, fruit, scrambled eggs, and home fries. That's all of the good. It advertises […] how close it is to Freestyle Park but it has been closed now for a year or more. There's no mention of there being a "gentleman's club" next door (although I never heard any noise from it and there is a row of trees and vegitation that looks like they are growning to block off the view.) The pool was very cloudy and I didn't even get in and my eyes were burning from the amount of chlorine used. My wife and kids only stayed in the pool for about 10 minutes; One, for the amount of chlorine and two, the size of the pool and amount of people that were in it. The TV was from 1990 even though they showed a flat screen in the pics and I never found the HBO that was advertised. The free wifi was not working correctly. If I connected I couldn't surf anywhere or I was immediately booted off. This really could have been a nice place I would return to if the location was different and the amenities were actually what was in the pictures. Kind of feels like false advertising to me. "Fix the pool and hot tub!!"
The pool was very cold and the hot tub was scalding. We could not use the hot tub at all. The breakfast was wonderful. If I had to make a recommendation, I would suggest putting the waffle making area away from the rest of the food. Several people stand in line for waffles, which makes it hard for the rest of us to get the other items. Thanks

This is the 2nd time we've stayed at this hotel and we only stayed 1 night. It's a good choice for the money..it's very clean, good customer service, and the free continental breakfast is a plus. The beds are very comfy and our room was very clean. The only downside, at least for me, is that it's a little bit far away from the beach. We had to spend […] $10 to park for the whole day near the beach and it's not within walking distance to any 'touristy' stuff. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good but they need a bigger dinning area with more tables and chairs. Would not recomend the pool it looked milkey looking. Over all a good place to stay. Don't go on the holidays when the rates are outrageous.

The only problem we had was that google maps says the hotel is on Mill Pond Rd. but after further investigation we found that information to be incorrect. Otherwise our stay was very comfortable and pleasant. The staff was friendly and the continental breakfast was definitely great and conveniently filling! My husband and I stayed here for our hooneymoon and we loved it! They were very kind and the place was very clean! The location is close to everything which was nice! Only down side is it is next to a stripper joint but like other reviews iv read.. You can not hear the music! We will def stay here again!

I took my daughter and her friend to Myrtle Beach to meet up with our family on vacation. This was out first trip to Myrtle Beach, so i did not know the location or neighborhoods. When we got to the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised. The staff was warm and welcoming and it appears the hotel was just renovated. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. […] The morning complimentary breakfast was great! The girls enjoyed making their own waffles. We stayed for 3 days and the variety for breakfast was great. The only downfalls was that the pool is smaller than it appears in the online photos and the neighborhood has a lot of "gentlemens clubs" but overall, I felt safe as a single mother with 2 teenagers. Great hotel. Great staff. Even though its close to a strip club its a grat hotel to stay at. We had a room on the club side and you CAN'T hear the music unlike what other ppl say..

Okay, this isn't the worst hotel you will stay at and if all you are looking for is a place to lay your head for a couple of nights it will do. BUT, if you have kids do not stay here! The pool is awful ... you can't see the bottom of the pool at any depth! It is totally foggy and super small. So small that if more than 10 people get in you are crowded […] and it only goes to 4 1/2 feet! And our bathroom wasn't cleaned at all and we know because the kid had sand in his suit that went on the floor at the tub and stayed there the entire time we did! As far as the strip club next door - no problem. We didn't hear any music unless we went out front at night and then it wasn't loud or obnoxious (though the GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS sign was a bit hard to explain). The staff is nice and friendly downstairs and the breakfast wasn't too bad. I guess if you are an older couple not looking to spend much and don't have need for a pool it would be okay. But we actually left a day early (without a refund) because of our disappointment with the pool and the room upkeep and I won't stay here again. Continua a leggere

"What I expected"
It was what we wanted for an inexpensive clean place to stay on our way to nearby beach in NC. The staff was courteous, the room and bathroom were clean, and the price was right.

"Would stay again"
Beside being next to a strip club, it was a nice stay. The breakfast was awesome! Homemade waffles, eggs, ham, toast, bagels, donuts, cereal, etc. On a down side, the beds were too soft and my husband and I had a hard time sleeping. The pool had a lot of chlorine and our eyes burnt. It didn't stop the kids from wanting to go in it though.

"Hghway 501 Country Suites"
No where in all the reviews that I read before I booked the hotel room mentioned that the hotel was right beside a large STRIP CLUB! Not only we were staying next to the STRIP CLUB, we got to hear the LOUD MUSIC from the establishment! The parking lot of the hotel was very small for the size of the hotel. Reserved for a weekend trip for my fathers 63rd birthday. Just me, my 6 yr. old son and his papa. Guys weekend trip, and we couldnt have picked a better place to stay. Staff was courtious and helpful. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Free Cont. breakfast was also nice. And free fresh baked cookies in lobby, cant beat that.

"NOT A FAMILY HOTEL"
there was only 3 towels in room,paid for extra guest so, should have been more towels. also pulled into hotel first thing my 8 year old son saw was a sign that said(GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS) was so close to hotel u could here the people all night long in our room...very unhappy will never stay again....people from inside hotel and from the XXX club..not a […] family hotel by far...im returning to beach in one week but i will not stay here... The hotel was very clean, the ice machine worked, nice indoor pool, hot tub, workout room, & SMOKE FREE....! Also pricied right.....!
Housekeeping forgot to wash or change shower curtain, and way too many Strip Clubs surrounding the Hotel. Also, not enough Restaurants to choose from.

Room location was great. Near everthing in Myrtle Beach. didn't like the Gentleman Club next door. Beds were comfortable (most hotels have only double beds we enjoyed Queen size beds!) Great hotel with great prices.
