Bathroom for dormitory has one shower and one wc. A lot of insect in the bathroom. Anyway it's a budget accomodation very near to city center.

Ostelli con bagni in comune sono molto frequenti in islanda, ma questo ha il rapporto camere/bagni veramente basso oltre ad una pulizia a dir poco discutibile. Buona solo la connessione e la vicinanza alla stazione degli autobus.

Hotel Gardur is an excellent budget option in Reykjavik. The rooms are spacious (especially compared to other budget accommodation we stayed in in Iceland!) and clean. Exorbitant price for standards of facility. Washroom arrangements unusual. Only marginally better than dormitory accommodations. A big difference from the UK hotels and guest houses we had grown accustomed to.

Great for a budget hotel. Had a good bed and clean bathrooms. Morning Breakfast was great and included. Very close to Downtown and easy to get to the bus terminal. The rooms are dorm style, so not much for a romantic note, but for the cost and location you cannot go wrong.

A little bit outside of the city-center, but it's a small city, so you won't walk long. 24 hour reception was very convenient as we came around 1am. Very good service , and clean comfortable rooms. The breakfast was good enough. I recommend highly!

Very pleasant place near to central city and local airport. It was perfect for before & after my camping trip to WestFjords. Staff very helpful, with excellent English as most Icelanaders that I met.

The hotel is a converted student dorm and a good value. I chose a private room with a shared bath. It was perfect for my one night stay. The inclusive breakfast was also lovely. My only complaint is that the rooms are not at all soundproof so I was woken up a couple times by people coming and going.

We were concerned about having shared bathrooms, but they were right across the hallway and very private. Each shower has its own locking door just like the toilets so it was very comfortable. The location was perfect. It was a quick walk to the bus station and town center. I think there is only one hotel closer. The best part was definitely the helpful and friendly staff. The manager helped me price compare deals for excursions and then booked them for me, even called restaurants for me and arranged a rental car. The room was spacious (twin room) with 2 single beds. It was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was ok and very healthy. The shared bathroom facilities while clean are a little inconvenient being at the end of a corridor on the same floor. Location very good for city centre with nice walk past the lake into town.

Gardur was a nice, small hotel in Reykjavic. Location was OK, about a 5 minute walk from the city center. My twin room was small but clean, and the bathrooms down the hall were clean every time I went into them. Breakfast was typical for Europe - a selection of meats, cheeses, breads, cereals, etc. Their coffee was OK, and they decent orange and apple […] juice as well. A dorm for the University of Iceland for most of the year, they convert it into a hotel during the summer tourist season. As such the private rooms are essentially dorm rooms complete with closets, desk, and sinks. There are shared kitchen facilities on site. It's not the Ritz but a nice stay nonetheless. Nothing fancy, it being a dorm, but still quite nice and well kept. Quiet with a friendly, helpful staff. Excellent location . . . easy walk to the madness of late night REK but not in it. Good showers. Fine, free breakfast. Overall, superb value for the money and location!!

The staff was very friendly and my room was clean as well as the rest of the facilities of the hotel. There was free parking and its location was good. A short walk from the center of town (maybe 15-20 minutes). Also easy access to the highway and downtown via car. I'd be happy to stay here again.

Jag är mycket nöjd med hotellet, helt klart prisvärt. Lätt att hitta om man har bil och det finns gratis parkering vid hotellet där man kan lämna bilen för att gå ned till staden. Nära till BSI om man ska åka buss. Rummet var enkelt och rent. Bra att det fanns separata dusch/badrum för män och kvinnor. Had dit keer geboekt voor de 'dormitory'. Was comfortabel genoeg, heb goed geslapen in mijn eigen slaapzak. Het (ditmaal gratis) ontbijt was ook weer prima verzorgd. En dat het maar 10 minuten lopen is van/naar de busterminal BSI was voor mij het grootste pluspunt. Ook het centrum is op loopafstand.

Prima. Zeer gunstig gelegen t.o.v. busstation en ook redelijk dicht bij centrum. Aangename sfeer, uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet. Slaapzak-accomodatie is voordelig en comfortabel genoeg, had eerste keer zelfs eigen kamer. Gratis WiFi is ook plezierig.

24 Reception mit top Berratung. tolles Fruestuecksbuffet, zentral gelegen zwischen Altstadt und Ueberlandbusstation direkte Strasse aus der Stadt, unmittelbar neben Stadtbushaltestelle. genuegend WCs und Duschen, so dass es nie einen Stau gibt.

Fint når man ikke sætter de store forventninger. Ingen telefon , intet TV ej heller WC/bad på værelsen , men internet. Meget imødekommende personale og god morgenmad! Pris og hotelfacilitetet går "hånd i hånd".

Faciliteterne (specielt sanitæranlæg) var ikke nye og lækre, men helt fint for os, der ellers lige havde tilbragt en del nætter på campingpladser. Masser af skabsplads på værelserne. Positivt: Rent och snyggt, bra läge samt prisvärt. Man får vad man betalar för. Bra frukost buffe, bra service. Negativt: Mycket spatanskt inredda rum,ingen TV eller toalett och vi fick rum på nedre plan dvs. en trappa ner från receptionen och därför mörka rum med endast fönsterglugg, trist.

As a whole, I enjoyed my stay at Gardur: the dorm room is spacious, quiet and clean with single beds (no bunk beds) and room dividers that can be used to create some sort of privacy and both kitchens and bathrooms were good. The location is also good: just a 5-minute […] walk from the main street and very convenient for both the Domestic Airport and the BSÍ bus station too. The National Museum of Iceland is 20 meters away from Gardur. BUT there are no lockers in the dorm room and breakfast is not included when you book a sleeping bag accommodation (although Hotels.com says it is, this was one of the first things the receptionist told me when I checked in). Frühstück ist gut, 24 Stunden Rezeption, Service ist gut, ansonsten schlechte Hostelqualität, Das Gebäude ist alt, entgegen dem Eindruck, den man aus den Internetbildern ziehen könnte. Die Türen schlagen automatisch zu und sind nicht mit irgendeiner Dämpfung versehen, also das Einzige, was man von solchen Quartieren erwartet, ist schlafen zu können, […] geht kaum. Hotel spíše připomínal ubytovnu, o sprchu a toaletu se dělilo více pokojů a nebyly v moc dobrém stavu. Je to velice jednoduché ubytování, vhodné jen na opravdu krátký pobyt. Personál je ale ochotný a je podávána kvalitní snídaně.Poloha je vyhovující, klidná oblast v blízkosti centra.

Der Check-In war schnell und einfach möglich. Bei der Unterkunft hanelt es sich um einen großen ausgebauten Dachboden mit 12 Betten (keine Etagen-Betten) ein paar Sitzen ein paar Trennwänden für die Privatspäre und insgesamt viel Platz. Eine Etage ist eine Dusche und ein Klo. Zum Frühstück kann ich nichts sagen. Die Lage ist sehr zentral zwischen Einkaufsmeile, […] Innenstadt, Unis in der nähe eines Parks gelegen. Hotellet ligger veldig gunstig til med kun 5 min gange til sentrum og 10 min gange til bussholdeplassen. Hotellet har vært en skole tidligere og bygningen er noe slitt, men til den prisen man betaler er dette helt fint. Rommene har delt dusj/bad og det luktet på badet, som om man ikke hadde installert vannlås i slukene. Vannet i dusjen hadde og litt […] typisk islandsk svovellukt. Frokosten var meget bra. Synes det var et helt greit hotell for den prisen. Relativt enkle kår med delte bad/toalett fasiliteter i gangen. Eget kjøkken for mattilbereding, stor matsal/oppholdsrom om kvelden. Internett tilgangen er dårlig- kun i resepsjonen.. Rommene er reine, servicen god, frokosten bra. For den prisen var dette et veldig bra alternativ. Vi stannade två nätter på detta hotel som tidigare fungerat som studentlogi (eller kanske gör det fortfarnde?) och var nöjda. Vi fick ett väldigt bra pris och för det priset tycker jag att hotellet var bra. Standarden är enkel men rummen är tillräckligt stora och sängarna bekväma. De gemensamma badrummen var inte jättefräscha men fungerade. Receptionspersonalen […] var väldigt hjälpsam och hjälpe oss att ringa, göra bokningar, gav information och var allmänt trevliga. Frukosten var över förväntan. Läget är bra med en 5 minuters promenad ner till centrum samt nära långdistansbusshållplatsen och inrikesflygplatsen. Dock är miljön lite tråkig med en stor väg utanför.
