Caravelle Resort Myrtle Beach

The Caravelle is nice. But I will call directly to the hotel to make reservations. I will never go though Hotel.com to make reservations. I had requested a room with a King size when reservations were made and upon arrival the only room available was 2 double beds.

Room was great but nothing on hotel property was open no bar no ice cream shop no restaurant but room location and house keeping were awesome

I always enjoy my stay at the caravelle. The staff is friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel toi my friends and family.

very very...dissapointed...I pay.to stay in the big building....not to stay.in the old stinky green building..of the Caravelle.hotel...always call..to the hotel first...this hotel have to buildings...the website only shows one.....

We spent one night here to avoid having to drive two hours home after a dinner show. We paid a significant amount of money for a third floor ocean view room ... 2/3 of the view was taken up by the fans of a palm tree. The hotel felt old. The bathroom was very small and not very well lit. The remote didn't work, our lock on the door had to be replaced […] as our keys wouldn't work 98% of the time. The towels felt like you were drying off with sandpaper. The on site hotdog/ice cream place could not take a debit card as the machine was not working. The elevators were very slow. The pools were very small. Lots of children, which means lots of noise. Had to park (and get pool towels) on opposite side of street from the hotel. It was conveniently located in a nice central area that suited our needs. It was an efficiency which would have been more useful if we were staying for more than one night. The TV was nice and the beds were comfortable. Internet is always a bonus. The best part of our stay was the fact that I didn't have to drive home that night. We will not be staying at this hotel again. We felt the cost was too steep for what we actually received. Continua a leggere

Very nice suite. but our 7th floor oceanfront suite beach view was blocked by the 7th floor sun deck. Parking garage is very tight so we would recommend driving a smaller car.

The bed condition was too bad make a lot a noise the foot board was broken.

Love the view and the rooms. Stay there over anyplace else on the beach!!

The hotel was nice overall, however, the room that we stayed in could use some remodeling. The location is wonderful.

I loved this hotel! For years, I have visited Myrtle Beach for work and have chosen several different hotels in the past in search for a very nice, clean hotel that met all of my needs. Well, i finally found it! I stayed at the Caravelle the first week in May 2012 in one of the efficiency suites with a kitchen and a living room area. Becasue my stay […] was for several nights, it was really important to me to choose a hotel with great reviews that was on the beach and that offered the feeling of "home," and the Caravelle did not disappoint. I was so impressed, i tried to get an additional night, but my room had already been reserved for a large group of people coming in that weekend. They offered to put me up in another room, but i didn't feel like the hassle of packing and unpacking just for one additional night. This hotel was very nice and clean, it smelled nice, the linens were fresh, the bathroom was spotless, the staff was most pleasant, parking was very convenient and it was just an all around great stay! The check in office is across the street, but once you check in, you don't have to worry about visiting that office anymore because at checkout, you just leave the key in the room. Also, if you need anything, just call the front desk. One of the light bulbs was missing in one of the lamps and i called the front desk and they brought one right up and placed a new bulb in the lamp for me. I loved the fact that my car was only an elevator trip down, as opposed to all the way across the street, which is an inconvenience, but mostly a safety issue for me. Needed some time away. This was the perfect place. New Years was great on the beach. The weather was perfect! Will do it again next year.

For the price, we felt we got an incredible value for our oceanfront efficiency. Despite being left with two double beds instead of a King (we booked last minute), the room was very comfortable. Our only complaint was the shower...which had terrible water pressure and not enough hot water. Otherwise, an adequately stocked kitchen, and amazing views […] ! Continua a leggere

This is a great location and reasonably priced hotel. I had an Oceanfront 1 BDRM condo and it was perfect. Great view and plenty of privacy. This is an older hotel, but very comfortable and amenities were great. I definitely would stay here again.

very nice location in the quieter end of the beach. very nice room with ocean view. very clean friendly staff, price very good. lots to do and be in a very busy end of the beach in less than 10 minutes. had a great time

They got me in a room earlier than normal check in! Great view of the ocean and the room was perfectly clean as well as large for what I expected!

This was the first time staying here and I really enjoyed it. The room was a little smaller than what I was use to but not bad for the price. Thanks!!!

Check in was quick- the staff behind the desk was very courteous. Then it was time to find parking. Holy crap! They have 2 parking decks, first one was filled to the brim. I was able to find parking on the 2nd floor, then drag all of our luggage over to the part of the hotel where we were staying, across the street. I drive a four-door compact sedan. […] The way these garages were built required several turns just to go to the next level, in which there were several near-misses, and blind corners. This would be suitable if it were made to house golf carts and bicycles. Then we get to the room. The room is gorgeous, everything spotless, the bathroom is actually big enough to walk in and shut the door behind yourself. The patio door got stuck, but I fixed that with some reverse redneck engineering. The security guards turned me and my friends away from the pool, closed at 11, but that's ok- we were on the beach, and made the best outta the situation. All in all- the hotel itself wasn't half bad- but it was too far away from much of the fun stuff MB offers...I'll be booking elsewhere next time. Continua a leggere

I had a wonderful time staying at The Caravelle Resort . The room was very clean and the people were very nice from the cleaning crew to the front desk. I had the oceanfront view room which was an amazing view. The only minor problem I had was the coffee maker not working. Our reservations were for Sea Mar condos. When we were heading to our room we had 4 young children with us and they were excited and talking a little loud. It was about 7:30 in the evening. One of the condo owners yelled and told us to keep our children quiet. We have not even got into our reem yet. My daughter told him to be quiet. Words were exchanged […] back and forth and we went on in our room. About five minutes later someone knocked on the door and asked by daughter to step outside. It was security and he said someone had made a complaint that they had been threathen. The security person was very rude and said that we did matter only the condor owner mattered. So i did not want to ruin my weekend with thinking that someone would complain if you made any noise in the room or halfway. We had 4 young children with us some you know they would make some noise. We got our baggage and went back to registration and asked to be moved to another building. The manage was very nice and she found us another room that would accomadate us. Continua a leggere

bonus.....when we arrived the hotel had a free show with dancers and fire eaters on the lawn....great show......very satisfied with this hotel

Stayed at Caravelle in the St. John's Inn part. Paid a cheaper price for this room than better part of hotel.My room looked old, and had dust build up in corners behind stove and dressers. The room was comfortable- I just needed a room to shower and sleep and that is what I got. Could not get anyone to answer phone at front desk when I had a question. […] Tried several times. If I needed a room again I would take it but would not recommend to a friend without being honest and telling them the down side. I did not expect much and that is what I got. Continua a leggere

My recent stay at Caravelle Resorts in Myrtle Beach was a good experience. My first night the area was being brushed by hurricane Irene. We were getting the west side of the hurricane, which had the tropical force winds. The electrial power blinked a couple of times, but did not loose power. But, the air conditioning went out. I could not open windows […] due to the rain and wind. I called the main number and let them know about the situation. They put in a work order, but stated that they had a fire earlier and it was being worked on. It was late and I thought I would lay down to sleep. It was so hot that I could not. After a couple of hours I called the main number the woman who answered told me that she would put me into another one of the condos. With in five or ten minutes a security person came to the door game me key passes for another apartment. This was during the heavy rain and wind of a hurricane. I would stay at Caravelle again. This hotel was awesome. I loved everything about this hotel. The room was nice and clean and the balcony overlooked the ocean. This hotel offer a lot to their guests. I would stay here again for vacation!!!!!!!!!!

We were disappointed when we first arrived and saw the hotel and where our room was located. I did my reservation on line and I expected to be living in the hotel that was showcased on the web page. I was not aware that the Caravelle had 9 other buildings and we were housed in the St. Johns Inn which I only found out after getting my confirmation e-mail. […] I had asked for an ocen front room , but we were given a room with a balcony overlooking the pool and unless you were Superman with x-ray vision and able to look through buildings you could not see the ocean. That was frustrating to know that I didn't get the room I wanted but we made the best of it. The satff was very helpful and polite, The room was clean, and after settling in we enjoyed the stay. However if we ever return to Myrtle Beach we would stay in this resort but only if we can get the amenities that is visible on line and an real ocean front room where you enter from interior corridors opposed to the exterior corridors offered at the ST. So disappointed! Very dated, not clean, one set of two elevators was not working... We were on the 15th floor! The idea is good but needs a major Reno!!!

the room wasn't even cleaned one day, the garbage or wet towels had not been picked up. I called and told them but they had no resolution so I told them I was putting these items in hallway. They did finally come pick up. I talked to other patrons they said that happened to them also. Biggest complaint was only 4 small elevators for this entire hotel […] and 1st day one of them wasn't even working. And no air conditioning in hotels it felt like 110 degrees in them. So needless to say we used stairs a lot of the time but we were on 10th floor. Stairways were absolutely gross. Rate this a 1 and that would be stretching it. Continua a leggere

The Caravelle was great. My husband and I where looking for a place to relax and have some fun and the caravelle was just that for us. He loved the lazy river and I loved the peace and quiet. The mornings where beautiful and the evenings where even more beautiful. We plan on taking our little one before the summer is over because there is so much for […] the kids to do without even leaving the resort. Lets just say my family and friends will not be back!! As soon as we got there we discovered our ocean view room was two blocks back! After some discusion with the person at the front desk was told we could choose what room we wanted, this would have been great had we not had to choose between wrong and wrong!! As my friend and i looked at the rooms […] in the pouring rain with our small childeren decided to pick to ocean view room on the 14th floor. This was an ok room, not at all what we odered online, i spoke with the hotel several times before we got there to ensure we had a two bedroom room bc we had two familys. This of course did not happen, we ended up with a room with double beds and a livingroom with a pull down bed so space was a real issue! not to menton the pull down bed was broken. We was only staying there for three nights, thankfully! the second night we was evucuated at 1:15am due to what we found out a hour later was a false alarm (thankfully).... now remember i have my 3 yr old and the couple who came with us has a 2yr old and were on the 14th flloor!!!! can you say hot crouded stairwell literally thought we were going to die ....... so is you want to overpay for something you didnt want and have the life scared out of you by all means book now!! Our stay was wonderful!!! We stayed in the Dry Dock Condos, which were a little old but very clean. We were just happy to get in the area because i booked our July 4th vacation very late. The next time, we hope to stay in one of the newly renovated spaces because we will defintely be back.
