The hotel staff was very nice, and the location was relatively close to the metro. I didn't *feel* like the neighborhood was unsafe, but was repeatedly warned by many people that it was a very dangerous area. I felt uncomfortable. It's too bad, but that must be why the rate was so cheap. The hotel itself is older, but the staff was friendly and I might […] consider staying here again. If you're on a budget and not concerned too much with safety, then this hotel is probably fine. Continua a leggere
"Aristoteles Hotel"
A nice stay. The hotel is close to the central Omonia square: from there you can use the Metro to reach all the major places of Athens. The hotel has a couple of PCs with free internet connection. The reception can propose and book excursions for you (I didn't try). If you have a car, you can park right in front of the Hotel for free. I can recommend […] the hotel. Continua a leggere
Friendly staff. Situation guite OK, we did not have any problems about the neigbourhood and we have been there now three times.
"Fantastic place to stay"
We were greeted by the friendliest owner i have ever met, who showed us everything there was to see in Athens. The hotel was clean and lovely with a great breakfast included. The wifi worked on each of the floors. I highly recommend this hotel.
"located in the center city."
it is a perfect place to stay. I had a wanderfull time there.
"Too close to Omonia"
The Hotel itself is fine for the price. You get what you pay for. The staff of the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful and the rooms are very clean. My television did not work and no one cared to fix it. That was not really a problem because I spend very little time in my room while in Athens. Unfortunately the surrounding neighborhood streets […] are filthy and inhabited by drug users, pushers, pimps, prostitutes and their johns. Many of the prostitutes were from Africa, prusumably. As a Black woman from America, I felt uncomfortable walking to and from the hotel and train station even in broad daylight for fear of being mistaken for one of the prostitutes. This fear was not unfounded as I was propositioned several times. If you are a woman travelling alone, the location is uncomfortable and unsafe. I have been to Athens several time and lived there for a number of years before this trip. I was really shocked at how bad things were and would not recommend this hotel for the reasons listed above. "The Price Is Right"
Booked with Aristoles as price was very cheap for in middle of Athens. Room was very small with three single beds squeezed in for the three of us but it was clean and tidy. Interesting mixture of guests from students to retirees. Area around hotel quite down to earth but well within walking range of city sights. Overall pleasantly surprised with what […] we got for the price. Continua a leggere
"Good value for money and that's about it"
Its a very good value for money. Its not very far from a metro station but not close either. The neighborhood though is shady. The rooms are clean but noisy, you can hear conversations from adjacent rooms as well. The major fault of this hotel for us is that they are not true to their words. I had written to them asking for double bed room on top […] floor with a fridge and we had been told that we could get one but all we got was a double bed room not on the top floor and without a fridge. When I inquired about the fridge I was told that they would try to get one but we didn't get one for the 4 nights we stayed there. We had also requested for early check-in and had been told that we could check in early if a room was available but when we got there at 06:00 there was no room and the guy at the reception told us that we might get one by 08:00 so we decided to wait. But then an old guy showed up and was very very rude. He simply doesn't know how to treat his guests. So we decided to come back later. And every time that guy was at the reception he was irritating. Although its cheap, next time we will rather spend more or stay a bit far from the center than stay in this hotel. Continua a leggere

"Bad neighbourhood"
We saw more than one person shooting heroin theirselves near the hotel.
"You get what you pay"
Cheap hotel, conveniently located (walking distance to metro stations) on a not so good neighborhood. Very friendly staff. My only complaint is that rooms are not noise isolated so you can hear when people are talking or walking on the hall. I recommend it only for a single person in a quick trip to Athens.
"beware!!!!"
this hotel is is a high crime location. I was robbed of most of my money on the metro close to the hotel. I hated this vacation!!!!
"Value for the money"
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is about a 10 minute walk from the metro station. The neighborhood is kind of icky but once you know your way from the metro to the hotel, it's not so bad to just speed through it. Just be aware of your surrounding and keep your guard up. We saw a kid get his bag stolen when his school group was getting […] off their bus at another hotel (a nice looking one too) but he wasn't paying attention to his things. Also we never walked around in the dark so I couldn't talk about the safety then. Our rooms were surprisingly nice with a flat screen tv, a small balcony and a recently renovated bathroom. Breakfast was also a pleasant surprise. It was very European (bread, jam, butter, cereal, mild, a boiled egg and slices of ham and cheese, fruit or yogurt, coffee, tea, and juice.) Also the free internet is a huge plus. I think for the price this hotel is an excellent value. A quick side note: the women there are the hardest working people I have ever seen. If it wasn't for the 4 of them the hotel would be in shambles. Continua a leggere
"Aristoteles Hotel"
I booked my stay at Aristoteles Hotel as it was a relatively inexpensive option, and pretty close to an area a travel book I possessed recommended. The hotel itself was relatively easy to find, about a ten minute walk from the nearest metro station. There are quite a few restaurants and shops around the area should you need to buy anything. Location-wise […] it is handy for visiting the National Archeology Museum and with Omonia (Metro Station) nearby, should you require transport it is readily available. The rooms are of a decent size with a bathroom (shower, sink), good sized bed and a television. Wi-Fi is also available on request. I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel if you're on a budget and want to reside away from the centre of Athens. Continua a leggere
"Aristoteles Hotel in Athens - Close to city Centre"
The hotel is good price quality. I stayed there for 2 nights, breakfast is not big deal but not too bad either. The room was nice, had 2 single beds, it was pretty clean, the only thing I didn't like was the smell, other than that it was pretty good for the price I payed.
"Good value for money hotel"
Very good value for money hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. Would definately stay at this hotel again and would recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable clean hotel

The staff here were friendly and accommodating - we arrived at 6am and were allowed to check into our room at that time for an extra €10 which we felt was reasonable. More importantly we were offered a very welcome coffee while we waited for them to get the room ready. The room was quite basic but the hotel is convenient for the omonia metro and whilst […] the area wasn't glamourous we felt safe enough walking around at night. Breakfast included in the rate made it an extremely good value choice and I would recommend it to anyone travelling on a budget. Continua a leggere

"Good value - convenient location"
I stayed 4 nights at the hotel and was very happy with my time there. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The location is convenient to Omonia Square and transport.
"our stay in Aristotless hotel in athenes"
this hotel is great for travelers with a small or medium budget , cause of the low price we payed we were worried there must be something wrong with this hotel , but to our surprise , it wasn't the case .our stay was very comfortable , the staff is very nice and friendly , very warm , you just feel at home . the room was not luxurious but clean , and […] had all kind of facilities , TV , hot water , clean sheets , ac , high speed internet . we couldn't ask for more . the location also to or surprise was very convenient , 10 minutes walking from archeological museum , about 25 minutes to the acropolis and center of town , it is not a luxurious neighborhood but in the heart of athenes , you get to know the multicultural society of the town , for us it was a very rich experience , better than staying in a fancy hotel where you dont get to know the real people of the town . if yo are looking for a good hotel with good facilities but with small price , . i ll definitely come back next time i travel to athenes Continua a leggere
"Aristoteles"
For the money this was a great deal for a no frills hotel. The room was clean. The staff was friendly. The front desk even paid the postage and mailed my postcards. The hotel was in a great location. Easy walking distance to Metro and the major sites.
"Great hotel for the price, area a little sketch"
The area was not too nice, there were a few problems around Omonia (where the closest metro station is, about 5 blocks) such as prostitutes and drug dealers, but the area immediately around the Hotel is alright, as a lone traveler I was back before dark. The hotel itself was excellent for the price, with free wi-fi, comfortable bed with sheet changes […] every day, balcony, free breakfast (egg, cereal, toast, coffee, juice) and a nice bar that is fairly cheap. The shower had plenty of water pressure and hot water, and I had no problems with space in the room or the bathroom, but I was by myself and the bed could have fit two people. Nevertheless I think it's fine for a single traveler who doesn't want to stay at a hostel, and not bad for a couple for the price. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a traveler on a budget. I do hope next time I'm able to spend more and be a nicer area, but the Hotel Aristoteles is not bad at all for the price. Continua a leggere
"Great value"
Great value hotel close enough to train station but do not go on foot with heavy suitcase. The Athens pavement will eventually destroy your case. Catch a taxi for 5 euro to from the local stations with your case train easy enough to catch from airport however consider a taxi ride is about 35 euro The wifi was reliable quick and trouble free
"Excellent for the price"
The quality of my single room was excellent. It was slightly noisy because of the nearby stairwell and dorm rooms, but for the price and the quality of the room I didnt mind too much. The location wasnt spectacular but its only about a 15 minute walk to the Acropolis. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to those on a budget.
"cheap, clean and central"
this place is great for anyone with a low budjet, just wants a bed and a spot of breakfast before they explore the city. its basic but clean. staff really nice and the guy desk taught us some greek! the area looks worse than it is. (a bit like most uk town/city centres). a major protest took place during our stay and we had no trouble at all . not […] really for familys anyone else i'd recommend Continua a leggere

Don't pay more than 5Euros taxi from anywhere in Athens city to the hotel. Noisy rooms but to be expected from marble stairs & lobby; and central shaft shared by all bathrooms. 2 free internet access points. Very firm beds! 10mins walk to Omnia metro, and very central; area […] not ideal late at night, as a bit "red light" although staying on main road (3rd Sept) was fine. Continua a leggere
"A cheap and nice place to stay."
It's a 2 star hotel and it was everything I expected, if anything a little bit more. Very basic, but clean and tidy.
The area is not good for families but for a young couple it didn't matter too much. The location in the centre is convinient with the tube only 10 minutes walk away. The hotel was very noisy so it's impossible to have a lie-in. The one computer with internet was constantly in use and the lift is very small (cannot fit 2 people + suitcases).
"Geat Hotel"
This hotel is great for the price. It's in Omonia which is the downtown of Athens. Like any big city just be smart when you walk around as the Greeks told me there's petty crime like pick pockets etc. Just be smart like in any city and you'll be fine. There's a few cafe's next to and across the street which were very friendly. The Hotel service is great […] and the woman who do the breakfast were great and it was a good breakfast. I travel all over the world and would stay in this hotel again if need be. The reception people were great and Steve the evening bartender was great as he gave me ice when I needed it. "Cheap cheap"
Hotel was pretty average for a cheap hotel in Greece. It was, however, extremely cheap. I think I got it for 50% off of the back of the listed price through Hotels.com. The only downsides are the internet only works in the lobby even though they appear to have it set up all over, the tv reception sucks, and the location was pretty far away from anything […] I wanted to see and it's pretty far from a metro station. "stay here (if only for the owner)"
The hotel owner is unbelievably rad. Not only will he go out of his way to provide you with information but he'll also probably tell you some Greek history or local myths. Memorable entertainment for sure. The room was quite large, had its own balcony, AC, a nice large shower (very rare for Greece). Breakfast was standard but generous. "Great room for the money"
I thought the hotel's decor was great, its not what i expected and took me by surprise. I enjoyed my stay and the receptions desk employees were great. They were very helpful, friendly and nice. The room had a balcony and the view was relaxing. The view of the main street was soothing to my traveling and enjoyable to see the everyday life go by.
"good value good location"
Stayed here in May, easy walking distance to everything and provided a very good base for exploring the city. Room clean and comfortable with aircon. Friendly, helpful guys running it. Good value and recommended if you want somewhere decent and central in Athens. I would go back.
"Never again"
The hotel was reasonably central to Omonia Square, although we felt we were walking thru the 'red light' district to reach the Metro. The amount of graffiti on the buildings was depressing. The coffee shops ripped us off because we sat outside and charged us double for the pleasure. The hotel was dirty, the room we booked online was a double and we […] got a back room with two small single beds. The towels had seen better days, the lifts would only take the luggage and we ran up the stairs. We left at early and a packed breakfast was offered which consisted of two boiled eggs, two very dry bread wedges with stale cheese and slimey ham. Not impressed with Athens this time round, it has seen better days and the restaurant prices in the Plaka were high for the quality of food. Fortunately our final destination was the island of Skopelos and this made up for Athens. We won't stop there again in a hurry. Continua a leggere

Continua a leggere
