hotel piuttosto spartano ma camere pulite e appena rinnovate. Biancheria nuova e sempre perfetta. Letto queen e per due non è davvero il massimo! Vicino alla metro comoda anche x l aeroporto. Se non avete grosse pretese sulla grandezza della stanza e arredamento, vista la pulizia e la zona, è perfetto.

Posizione comoda, struttura moderna, personale gentile. Ma le camere vengono pulite nel pomeriggio, per cui se si rientra verso le 14 la camera non è ancora stata rifatta.

I have not much to say: we chose this hotel because its web site stated: "a boutique hotel in the heart of Boston at an affordable price" and the pictures seemed to confirm that! Well... forget it! The only good thing about the 140 Hotel is its location (next to a subway station, not far away from Boston downtown). For the rest, it is a huge anonimous […] building with a big, cheesy lobby and little friendly staff! We were at the 8th floor and it all looked like a low-level student dorm. Our bedroom was ridicolous: tiny small (we didnt even have a double bed, but a large single bed!!), with third-class furniture, a quite noisy fridge and a dirty rug! The only "amenities" were an old microwave and a decent and clean (although very small) bathroom! No breakfast, no wi-fi, nothing, for a very high night fee!!! So, our personal advice, if you want to visit Boston, is to pick some other hotel!! Continua a leggere

I was not impressed by this hotel. It was in a great neighborhood close to copley but ive been in nicer for cheaper. Just wasnt the bang I was expecting but i guess you are paying for the location

Hotel 140 is placed in a very convenient spot ! Close to many cafes, restaurants, shopping stores and close to the nicest park the boaton common. Although the location is great tje rooms are extremely small.. so your definetly paying for the location. Also the parking is expensive at 27 $ a day or 33 $ without hotel discount. I can't say enough about the staff, they are fantastic esp Steve and Meg in management. The rooms and beds are small and very basic in regards to the furnishings BUT having said that it is very clean. If you're just looking for a very friendly, clean place to lay your head with no frills for a great price you won't be disappointed.

I was in town for a conference at the Hynes Convention Center which is just a short walk from Hotel 140. For the rate and location, it is a great hotel. I highly recommend Flour, a popular Boston-area cafe, for breakfast or lunch -- which is located across the street. Yes, the room was small, but very comfortable. A few small service things they need […] to work on: One, if the "do not disturb" sign is on the door, then PLEASE do not disturb. We really didn't want maid service coming into our room while we were out for a few hours so we put the sign on our door. When we got back, the room had been entered and cleaned. Not cool, dudes. Two, make sure you know which channels are on the TVs when customers call the front desk. We couldn't find the channel listing in our room, so we called and the person at the desk had no clue if the TV offered AMC or not -- and they said that others had called about the same channel (Mad Men was about to start). Three, you don't make change at the front desk?! Really?! This is the first hotel I have EVER stayed at where the front desk was not able to make change for a $20. Lame. Continua a leggere

Had requested handicap room which we did receive. Room was large and spacious but I thought it would have an easy acess shower but we had a high sided tub. Although there were several safety bars the tub was difficult to get in and out of it.

This hotel is just behind the Copley Square Fairmount so very convenient for any activities in the Copley Square area. Of course Boston is very walkable so it's possible to go as far as Mass General Hospital on foot within 30 minutes. This is not a luxury hotel, but the room was quite comfortable and a great value for the price.

Stayed for 3 nights in march. Very friendly staff particularly the gentleman that works on the frontdesk. ( cant remember his name) hotel is in a good location in back bay, rooms are maintained well and very clean. Would recommend this hotel, was excellent value for what we got

This hotel is fine but lacking for a business traveler. Rooms are tiny and may not have a desk although they changed my room when I asked. Workout room is non existent and you have to leave the premises for anything. Bottom line - good for tourists but bad for business travelers for the price.

I was very pleasantly surprised. My conference hotel was twice the price of the Hotel 140, and I actually visited a friend at the more expensive hotel. Her room had only one thing I wish the Hotel 140 had, and that was a work desk. My room was just as big, my bathroom was larger, and the whole front of my room had very tall windows. It was a little […] noisy during the day because of the traffic, but pretty quiet at night. I didn't hear any noise from other rooms or the hallway. I was there during a nor'easter, and other than the window was barely bothered by it. I walked one block to enter a a mall through which I was able to walk the entire 6-7 blocks to the conference center. There weren't extras like room service or a mini bar, but there was free Wi-Fi, a small refrigerator, an iron and ironing board, an older but very serviceable TV, and a big, deep bathtub. The staff was lovely, and although the business center computers charged for access to the Internet, you were not charged to print out your boarding pass. I wish there was a hotel like the Hotel 140 in every city I visit. Continua a leggere

Rooms are small but very nice, clean, and modern. TV has all inputs for laptop and WIFI is good. Location can't be beat. One block from Copley Sq. T station. For the money, you can't go wrong.

Room was small (didn't have a desk) and the shower head placement could be adjusted to accomodate shorter guests more comfortably. Otherwise, clean, comfortable, affordable and convenient for a convention visit. I would stay here again.

Perfect location for us, service was excellent! It was a little cold in the room because of low quality blankets and because the wind was blowing all through the room (we stayed in the 8th. floor). Also, the heater made a lot of noice (it was directly next to the bed!) - so that was very annoying! The staff at this hotel makes what is already a charming, historic environment a truly excellent hotel experience. I was in town for an audition (opera singer) and the staff and management were incredibly accommodating in providing me with practice space. The only downside of the hotel is that there is a floor of long term residences in which smoking […] is allowed. Occasionally, the elevators smell a bit of smoke, but the rooms themselves are extremely clean and nice-smelling. We decided to extend our stay by an extra night and the hotel was willing to give us their lowest available rack rate even though we were in a much nicer room. The location really can't be beat. It is walking distance from both the orange and green lines and the simply sublime Boston bakery, flour, has just opened up a new location across the street. STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL! We stayed at 140 for a museum and theatre weekend. Small but comfortable rooms, friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is conveniently located adjacent to the Back Bay train/subway (Orange Line) stations, three blocks from buses and subway (Green Line) in Copley Square, and a 10-minute walk from the Boston Center for the Arts. I booked a room through Hotels with 2 beds. When I arrived to check in, all of those rooms had been filled. I was given a room with a king bed and a rollaway, but I was not pleased that my initial request was not fulfilled.

This hotel is in a great location, with very clean rooms and friendly staff. The only downside to this hotel is no bar/lounge area so you have to be either in your room or out of the hotel, which was only an issue because i was there by myself. If you like firm beds then this is the hotel for you!!

We stayed here for the last week of June 2012. It was booked through Expedia Unpublished Rate, which gave us excellent to good hotels before. However, this was very disappointing. The room is small. It has a fridge, a chair, TV. No desk/table. The bathroom was a joke. Tiny sink, almost no space for toiletries. The shampoo hanger in the shower was of […] the sucker type. The shower door opened to the outside and it would not stay shut. It is a refurbished YWCA, and it certainly looks like that. We could hear the couple through the wall behind the bed. The bed was comfortable, to be fair. The staff at the front desk was friendly. One of the elevators was broken quite often. I believe the upper floors are residential. We'd have some drunk/odd residents riding the elevator with us. When we were out and left the Do not Disturb sign, housekeeping left a bag with dry towels at our doorstep. The first night we were at the hotel, our heater in the room began to click semi-loudly so we called the front desk and the gentleman asked us to come downstairs and he would put us in another room. It's really no hassle at all to find the hotel which was just 2 min walk from Back Bay train station, and makes it easy to go to other places. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very cozy, some people may find it a little small, but it was good enough for my husband and I. It is very clean, including the bathroom. Everything was great at the 140, except for the elevators, which were old, slow, and finicky about the key cards.
