Avevo letto i commenti prima di partire e pensavo di trovare una struttura gradevole, ma con alcune mancanze e invece mi sono dovuta ricredere! Il personale è squisito, sempre a disposizione 24h su 24h; l'htl è pulito e le stanze sono anch'esse pulite ogni giorno (compresa la biancheria che gli asciugamani - anzi, ne avevamo molti più del necessario!-). Il […] cibo è molto variegato e accontenta tutti i gusti....certo che se vuoi la pasta pure in giro per il mondo stai a casa! ma...a sorpresa è ottima anche quella! Cmq l'all inclusive è davvero notevole...non smetti mai di mangiare o di bere sia soft che alcoolico...nulla da dire! La spiaggia è ok, anche se abbiamo trovato qualche alga che prontamente veniva tolta dal personale un due/tre volte al giorno dalla battigia. Consiglio l'hotel a chi ha un certo spirito di adattamento, in quanto la pulizia della camera e del ristorante principale lasciano un po' a desiderare. La formula all inclusive permette di bere e mangiare a qualsiasi ora del giorno e fino alle 2.00 di notte nei vari bar e ristoranti, la cucina è buona e varia. Quando siamo entrati nella camera abbiamo avuto una brutta impressione: le trapunte scure e fiorate davano un'aspetto non pulito. Tolte e lasciate le lenzuola bianche la stanza ha preso luminosità e l'impressione è migliorata.Buono e di facile gestione il condizionamento della camera. Il ristorante è con le tovaglie di stoffa che vengono cambiate, di […] norma, a pranzo e cena, salvo casi di particolare sporco. Si mangia, quindi sulle macchie di quelli che ci hanno preceduto e non è piacevole. Meglio sarebbe una tovaglia in plastica. La sala ha l'odore non gradevole di una mensa. Il cibo è, complessivamente, accettabile; si trova sempre qualche cosa che ci piaccia e poi non manca mai la pizza che, spesso, è un'ottima soluzione. La carne ed il pollo sono ben cucinati. La colazione offre ampie alternative di buona qualità. Buono il punto ristoro della spiaggia che a tutte le ore ti fa fare uno spuntino. Buana l'attrezzatura di spiaggia, Purtroppo molti ospiti occupano dall'alba (e poi non ci vanno) i lettini all'ombra ed a volte non è facile trovare posto. Buona la piscina. L'animazione è garbata e non invadente. Presentano buoni spettacoli serali. La struttura ha un comodo servizio di noleggio auto per visitare l'isola: con una spesa accettabile (più o meno equivalente al costo del taxi per e dalla città) hai un'auto piccola, con tutte le assicurazioni, per 24 ore. Malrado le recensioni non fossero buone ci siamo avventurati lo stesso e...meno male...una struttura molto carina e con tutti i comfort...abbiamo girato tantissimi villaggi in tutto il mondo e questo non ha nulla da invidiare ad altri neanche di francorosso o veraclub...inoltre il suo all inclusive è di quello vero! food is horrible. it looks that they are re-serving the food as it often appears to be the same for lunch and dinner. Dining hall servers are very unpleasant. With this hotel you get what you pay for. If you go in with that expectation you will have a good time. The rooms were nothing special, but you don't go to a place like this to sit in your room. The food was decent and the drinks were great. We snorkeled off the resort beach and saw a number of cool critters; including: an eagle ray, spotted eel, flounder, […] barracuda, spiny lobsters, and sting rays. The locals selling conch shells and marijuana on the beach below the high tide mark were a little annoying, but were usually turned around by a polite "no thank you". We walked along the beach every day. It was quite beautiful and at low tide you could walk to the east and see some cool tidal pools. It's a nice place to go, pay one price and not worry about anything else. I do think its more suited for people who like the night life and partying. They blast loud music until 2 am every night. Alcohol is free flowing so add that to the loud music and party atmosphere, it was pretty out of control. The hotel staff is up pretty early shouting into […] a microphone for upcoming events. Very irritating when the loud party music had you up. During the day it's pretty relaxing and you can find a quiet spot. But it depends on what vacation means to you. The Island is beautyful , food is discusting for pig....crack walls no attention what so ever.... the only good thing is the beach, you could stay enjoy the beach and eat out....rental car $87.00 aday....best hotel in the Island is grand lucaya, also Sabor & fry fish is the best place to eat out....

We've done the all-inclusive in Jamaica, Dominican Repulblic, Costa Rica and of course here at Viva Fortuna but it had been years ago. We were concerned with several recent negative reviews and we were traveling with our elderly parents (who didn't want to go far thus made the Bahamas a natural choice). Boy, were we surprised! Not only was the food […] hearty, wholesome and plentiful but a variety that made each and every night something to look forward to. The bartenders without having to tip acted a if they were being rewarded with each and every well made drink. Truly the staff made our visit a very relaxing and rewarding vacation. Couple that with maid service that kept our rooms standing tall with no need to remind about anything and you have a perfect trip. The airlines have a lot to learn from Viva Fortuna. Staff tried very hard but food was very boring and flavorless, drinks were bottom shelf booze and hotel is run down overall. If you're looking for a cheap deal, it's ok but won't be returning.

All over a nice hotel. The cleaning of the room good be improved. What they are offered in The All Inclusive program was very good, local alcoholic drinks, snacks for kids, sport equipment, and...Scuba diving center located at the hotel ground, perfect for diving. The hotel beach is clean and beautiful.

The Hotel offers exactly what you are paying. The rooms are poor and old. Even the nicer Ocean View Rooms. In fact i booked this but got a garden view first. This is much older. When you are lucky, you get 1 bottle water for 3 in the room at the first day. The stuff in the restaurants is unfriendly, but this seems to be standard in this area. This is a fine resort hotel, with excellent international staff, pleasant public spaces, lots to do at the beach and pool, very good food buffet style, and open bar and coffee bar. They put on a great New Years Eve event. The rooms are clean and acceptable, although the bathrooms are small for more that 2 in a room.

Overall I was extremely pleased with the whole experience at Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach. It's not Beaches or Sandals, but for the price it's an excellent alternative for budget wary travellers looking to get away without breaking the bank, yet have the luxury of an all inclusive. Granted the alcohol is far from top shelf, yet like anything else you […] drink enough of it and you'll have a good time. The food in the restaurants that require reservations was actually very good, but book early and often. The food at the buffet was also good, and of course you can always fall back to the hamburgers, hot dogs and pizza for those not so discerning eaters. Otherwise, the staff are friendly, personable, helpful and willing to make your stay enjoyable. There are activities throughout the day and evenings to encourage guest participation, and the staff are good at encouraging guests to do so, yet they're not invasive in how they do it. The really nice thing about this resort, you feel like it's your own private resort, probably 1.5 miles east and west of the property are no other resorts, and the layout allows you as much privacy or solitude as you want. Pool/Beach was the nicest part of this place besides the temp was in 60-70's windy. walking along the beach during the most sunny part of the day were the best. Food Buffet is your best bet with different verities. their Asian's style food scored a 2 from 1-5. Gaming options/area - a good options but the area of gaming is old which needs major updates. etc pool table/pingpong tables/moldy basketball count . worse part of gaming area are they ALL have time slots!! as if they don't have enough staff operating them so they cut everything down to opening 1.5-2.5 hr at a time. always a long line waiting... The hotel was clean, the staff was extremely helpful and so friendly! I splurged for a deep tissue massage & the masseuse put me to sleep! The food in the main dining room was fine- i think breakfast was the best meal of the day. Oh on Christmas eve they had quite a nice spread and they did a wonderful job decorating for the holidays with the lights, […] candles & other festive decorations. The fitness center is rather small and a bit dated- I went running on the beach each morning so that really was a non-issue. The sunrise was breathtaking if you are lucky enough to get an oceanview room! :) Must do- Lucaya National Park- caves, and hiking trails and the beautiful beach. Port Lucaya for shopping and bargaining with the locals for trinket/souvenir stuff- also alot of different ethnic restaurants: Zorbas for Greek food is a winner. The staff are all very friendly. The kids had a great time and there was plenty for them to do. The buildings themselves were a little rundown, but we hardly noticed and enjoyed the stay.

Alcoholic beverages cheapest money can buy. $27 cab ride to casino at Lucaya---each way. $40 to and from airport. do not be late getting to airport for return flight as airline desk absolutely closes […] 1 hour before flight time---no exceptions---and you will have to wait for the next plane. this was the first international trip I had with my girlfriend. At first we were wrongfully assigned a double bed room but after a few hours the staff was able to accomodate us in a king size bed room. There are many activities occuring at the hotel and practically you do not need to leave the premises to have something to do. Take advantange of the […] snorkeling, kayaking, dancing, games and beach walking. If you are brave enough you may try the trapeeze. When you check in make reservations for dinner, the restaurant setting and food is superior to the dinner buffet. After reading reviews online we set our expectations accordingly, considering the cost of the stay. This helped keep things in perspective. Crowds were minimal during our October stay. The weather was nearly perfect and the water temps terrific. We lucked out and enjoyed a rain free week. Overall we enjoyed ourselves, but it was not without a few snags. […] Our first room had a few maintenance issues that came to a head our first evening. On request we were moved the following day and the second room was much better. This location was chosen by our daughter as a beach destination wedding, and this worked out very well. The only notable frustration with the wedding package was not being able to get details about the included photography, and finding out the limitations and costs after the fact. The hotel also caters to cruise excursions, which can cause a large influx of people coming in for day use of the facilities. I expected it to be worse from online reports. Going off season we did not have a problem finding a chair or shade on the beach or poolside. The food was average, but the selection was decent. My husband and I went here for our honeymoon. We had a great time! The servers were friendly and fast! The hotel is about 15 minutes away from downtown which was great for being away from all of the people but close enough to go do other things! The beach was beautiful!

Lots of details are unimpressive. The food is good enough; the drinks are good enough; the hot tub is good enough (but with cracking paint). I did not go in thinking that this was the Atlantis, and it was fine. I can see how people with high standards would be disappointed. Nonetheless, I wouldn't object if my friends wanted to stay there.

We decided to stay at the Fortuna because we wanted to get married on the beach. They did a great job with everything from the Minister, pictures and flowers. I made the mistake of booking a resort with Hotels.com. Upon arriving, I waited for 10 minutes to check-in since the only check-in agent was chatting with another employee. I was given a key to a room located about a 5 minute walk. I got lost a few times since the directions where as clear as mud. Keep left and you will see it, even if the room numbers […] weren’t displayed. I got to my room and my key didn’t work, I returned to the check-in desk. Another 5 min walk and similar wait. The receptionist didn’t apologize, just gave me a new key. I returned to “my room” and what do I find? Someone else’s luggage, shoes and personal items! They basically just gave me a key to some random room! At this point in time, I’m furious and I return to the front desk. I ask the receptionist for a manager, and my request was rejected saying that the manager would return later. At this point, another guest informed me, that while I had a bad time. He found blood residue on the bed in this room!!. I got a new key to a new room, even farther away… I get to my room and what do I find… A lovely roach on the floor (see attached picture with the resort logo)… Bathroom was full of mini-bugs… What a lovely place! Oh… the food could be described as low quality cafeteria food, lots of bugs/flies flying over the food (yes, I know we are in the Caribbean, but still!) We paid extra for ocean view and we did not get it when we arrived at the facility. Since the first day we reported that our shower was broken and nobody ever came to repair it. The only aspect that saved our week vacation in this hotel was the animation staff.

The beach was absolutely gorgeous! That was the main reason for our trip. Food was fair enough. You won't go hungry. Staff was decent. Bartenders lightened up to you after you tipped them.

Stayed here in the past, actually up to one year ago and this year there has been some upgrades to the property. The beach is clean, there weren't as many birds as last year. The rooms have been somewhat upgraded as far as being painted and the addition of flat screen televisions. Front desk staff had no idea my friend and I were arriving, therefore didn't have our room that I pd. for available. We were placed in a down-graded room for the night and had to then wait for the people in our room to check-out! Once we got the superior oceanfront room, we were pleased. The staff has no clue what each other staff member is doing, nor […] do they treat guests in a pleasing way. When something goes wrong, they definitely take their time in fixing it, often times laughing, joking around, and having a great time with other staff - while you wait ! Housekeeping ladies are the most friendly, as well as the entertainment staff! ***BEWARE of the off-site peddlers who walk the beach EVERYDAY, ALL DAY bugging you and trying to sell various items and hair-braiding. They will ask you 50x's a day, mainly grunting or saying "hey!" really loud to get your attention...JUST IGNORE THEM! Once we got things settled and got into the swing of things, we had a good time.
