While Texas Hill Country is remarkably beautiful, the city of Kerrville itself feels very urban and industrial compared to nearby towns. So it was with great pleasure that the Inn of The Hills blew away all my expectations. The rooms were clean and spacious, the beds were comfortable. "Nice older Hill Country hotel"
Older hotel, but well maintained. Close to many restaurants; there is a Chili's very close with a large patio overlooking the river. Rooms were large and clean. The bed was good, and the room was very quiet. I booked two rooms and at check-in they moved one room to be near the other. There was a breakfast coupon with the room for free continental breakfast […] or $4 off the hot buffet. The breakfast was good, with lots of fruit and variety and a Texas-shaped waffle maker. There was also a dinner buffet that looked good. The drink machine that was closest to our room did not work. Our room overlooked a beautiful outdoor pool and courtyard; the first floor rooms had patios with tables and chairs. Really enjoyed the facility. The room was clean and the beds were soft. Loved Loved Loved the morning breakfast and the staff were friendly and helpful. "not happy with the stay"
The rooms directly opened up to the street making us very uncomfortable, it felt like we were staying on the street and there was no privacy at all. The carpet in the room was dirty - room was ok. We stayed for a family vacation. The loft room had a king bed upstairs and pull out couch. Complimentary continental breakfast in the hotel restaurant was included. "Perfect for a night or a weekend"
It is a wonderful hotel. We just stayed overnight but we could have gotten so much more out of it if we had made it a longer stay. I will absolutely spend a few extra dollars and stay here again if I have the time to really enjoy all the hotel has to offer. I've got to give the comfort a 1 one this, on the night we stayed, there was no hot water at all, so we couldn't have a shower. Also, disappointed at the breakfast that came with it. This is a well known , established Inn. It is older, yet well maintained. The front desk was excellent. The room very clean and ample. The breakfast/restaurant is one of the big sellers. The breakfast buffet which came with the room included everything from pastries, bacon, sausage, juice, cereal, eggs, grits...etc., etc. hot out of the kitchen. "Get to the Hills and relax."
We where able to move to a courtyard view after check. That's where you want to be it is beautiful. The breakfast buffet was very good. The only neg. was the young lady at the front desk forgot to tell us about the perks. you can go to a pool that over looks the river with your room key and go to the Sports Center down the road that has an indoor pool […] and bowling alley. "The employees are great at Inn of the Hills"
Inn of the Hills is a hotel with very friendly staff. The front desk clerk took great pains to recommend a German restaurant in nearby Fredricksburg and even called the restaurant for us to find out their operating hours. The hotel restaurant has very good food and a full buffet breakfast. The employees in the restaurant were also extremely friendly […] and helpful. The pool area is like a resort and the pool is beautifully maintained. The hotel is an older hotel, which is the reason we had one issue with it. The air conditioning moisture ran through a pipe that drained into the tub. When the AC was running, the pipe was dripping. If you took a shower you got cold water dripped on you. "Nice facility, beautiful setting"
Beautiful setting, very reasonable rates. We had trouble getting cold water, but as soon as we mentioned it to the front desk it was fixed. We would definitely stay here again! The lobby, restaurant and grounds are lovely. Our room (204) was not! The green carpet was old, dirty and coming up. The sink needed to be replaced but the bath/shower was new. The upper cabana room we had did not have a balcony. We had to enter/exit our room facing the parking lot. It rained, and we got wet while walking to the lobby.
