"Down town hotel, not so much around"

It is a very old one with some parts renovated (but renovated in a way that you feel to be in 1920s). I got a very nice suite, with A/C and also there the feeling was like to be in a new room of 1920 (the wal paper, the furniture and everytjhing seems to be coming straight from the past. Some other parts are still to renovate and this gives the hotel a magic atmosphere, quite misterious. Last but not least, everybody is very nice and helpful in the hotel and the breakfast can be a real "Gala Dinner" with any kind of food. If you take all of this it in the right way, it is a unique experience, otheriwse it can be just disappointing.

"Great Staff, Great Location, Overall Good Stay"
I was impressed with my stay at Harrah's in North Kansas City. The thing that stood out the most was the friendliness of the staff at the hotel. They really go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, and the check-in and check-out process was very smooth and quick. The hotel itself is in good condition, and you can tell they work to keep it that […] way. The room itself was very nice, and met to me expectations. The location is also a plus since it's only about 5 minutes from the hotel to downtown Kansas City where a lot of the local attractions are located. The only downside to the hotel was the charge for WiFi in the room. It was a bit more expensive than I expected, however I was able to get a decent rate on the room. The overall price wasn't worse than I could have gotten elsewhere (with the internet included), but, had a I paid full-price for the room, I think the internet charge would have been a lot more disappointing. "If you like to seep in....."

"never stay here"
this is the worst experiance ever i paid for things i did not get for example pet stay the hotel didnt even know what i was talking about and when i asked for my pet stay products pet food and water bowl pet roomservice pet treats they laughed and said are you serious we dont have that stuff why would you expect that and i replied because i paid for […] it. So i had to go buy the stuff since i didnt bring it. When i went to get directions to the plaza they couldnt give it to me and so when we went to dinner we got lost and were late. Nice hotel; easy to get to with plenty of parking. Staff was polite but had trouble printing a boarding pass and desk clerk couldn't solve problem with printer but it was no big deal. "Do not disturb means don't clean my room...."
First I want to say that most of the staff we met were friendly. The breakfast bar had a wide variety and our waiter at one of the restaurants was helpful as we had someone in our party that had to worry about a food allergy. We came for an all day meeting at downtown K.C., so we booked the night ahead and stayed 2 nights...then because of possible […] snowstorm we stayed an extra night. We were able to easily take a taxi to our meeting, which was reasonable (didn't have to worry about parking or driving at night in the rain). My big disappointment was after the first night, we put a do not disturb on our door while we ate breakfast so we could come back to the room before leaving for our meeting. We left before 10 a.m., but when we came back around 10 p.m. We found our room had not been cleaned! They did bring up clean towels and supplies after we called, but the maids were gone for the day. I was given many excuses, no one from maid service ever called and apologized. In fact when telling the desk the day after, her excuse was if we had a sign on the door that sometimes meant don't clean it today. Well...that's a new one! We've stayed at other hotels before and I was under the impression that it meant, please come back later. Plus we left before checkout time, so they should've came back to the room later or at least after checkout time. "A little disappointing for a casino hotel"
Hotel room was dark. It needed more lighting particularly needed brighter light by the bed. Was hard to read in bed with this poor lighting. Carpet was dingy and stained. Beds were ok but hard, not pillow-topped. The hotel rooms were really quite a ways through long hallways to the casino floor, resturants and even the coffee shop.
