extreamly helpful nice staff. Hotel undergoing update-not done. Wifi is bad-did not work well on 3rd floor -big problem!!!

"A Comfortable Stay"
We stayed one night for a concert at Penn's Peak on April 19. We were given a handicapped room on the first floor (didn't request one) facing the back of the hotel towards the turnpike. We never heard any traffic noise at all. Our room was extremely clean (OK, there was a stain on the carpet next to the bed, but it wasn't the end of the world!), comfortable, […] roomy and quiet. It had a large writing desk with an upholstered swivel chair, and another upholstered chair with an ottoman. The bathroom was spotless. The bed was a little firmer than I like (I like a softer mattress), but we slept well. The breakfast was good, with hot items including scrambled eggs (not the greatest), DIY waffles, bacon, oatmeal, and homefries, in additon to the usual cold items. If you couldn't find something you like, then there's something wrong with you. There were delicious, free chocolate chip cookies, along with coffee and tea bags, in the lobby 24/7. They also put out sliders, baked beans, and veggies with dip in the lobby for a couple of hours in the afternoon, but we didn't try them. Also, there were people in the indoor pool every time we walked by, but we never heard anything while in our room, even though we were only steps away from the enclosed pool area. All in all, the hotel was attractive and clean. We had a pleasant stay and would definitely stay there, again. Continua a leggere
"Great hotel! Road construction...access difficult"
Visited Lehighton for a concert at Penn's Peak and to tour the area covered bridges and the town of Jim Thorpe. Beautiful country road access to both Penn's Peak & Jim Thorpe. Nice hotel!...pool, jacuzi, yummy cookies & coffee ...But road construction & center road rail makes access only available coming from the west on Interchange Rd. Eat breakfast […] at the hotel....Closest reputable place for breakfast or lunch is the Country View Diner about 3 miles East on Interchange Rd....but a very nostalgic John Deere themed diner with good food. I enjoyed my stay. The staff was friendly, breafast was good and the pool was clean. There is only one issue that should mentioned. Every time I either went to the front desk or pass by, there was not once threw the whole week I stayed, was there a person at the front desk and I would have to wait for someone to come and help me. However when someone […] did arrive, the hospitality was great. I do hope the issue will be resolved. I do apologize that I had to mentioned the problem, but as well as the Hotel is kept up, Iam sure there is a reasonable explaination. "Not happy"
I have stayed at many Country Inns - but this one by far was the worse. It's very old and needs updating. We booked two rooms and they were not together. One of the rooms was on top of the pool so it smelled like chlorine the whole time, and we all ended up with soar throats due to the chemical. "Nice Place"
Looks new, well maintained, very good continental breakfast. Pool small, fitness center so-so. Located smack on top of the on-ramp to I-476 S. Three miles out of Lehighton, 7 or so out of Jim Thorpe. Lots of families.

stayed for 3 nights in July 2011. clean and convenient to jim thorpe. very good staff. breakfast could use an upgrade as staff seemed a bit overwhelmed keeping up with demand - particularly on weekends.

Stayed here 1 night while attending a concert @ Penns Peak. Staff were couretous and answered all our questions. Breakfast was nice. Room was comfortable. Coffee, fruit and cookies were always available. Only complaint is that to get to the hotel you must drive past aways after getting off the turnpike and look for a place to turn around (lots of no […] u-turn signs along the road)... not the hotels fault of course, but just not convenient especially if you don't know the area. All in all, the hotel was very nice and the breakfast was great, but one thing about it has bothered me for the last few days. I was with a group of people for a bachelor party. We were there to play paintball during the day and stay at the hotel for the night. 3 people in our group chose to stay at the hotel the night before so they wouldn't have to […] drive early the next day. The morning after their stay the 3 guys asked the hotel if they could have the same room for the next night. She agreed. Also, the room they had was smoking, and I specifically requested both rooms we had to be non-smoking. I also can't understand how she gave them a room that was technically under my name and my credit card. The person behind the counter claimed that they always do this for people. "Not this time, but we'llbe back."
My wife and I have stayed at this hotel many times and everything was great until our last visit on 9-04-10. We were put into a room that just reeked of cigarette smoke. Our bad for not asking, but the sign next to check-in clearly stated "Thank You" for not "Smoking". We express our concern about not being able to stay in this room and Monquie, the […] clerk called her mgr. and told us that we would not be charged for the room.We thought that was kind of them, being that this was a holiday weekend. Otherwise we have always enjoyed this hotel and will continued to stay here , just ask for 1st or 2nd floor only , if you are non-smoking folks like our selfs. Continua a leggere

"No problems!!"
It was kind of hard to get to the hotel, since coming from the toll road, you can see it, but the roads.....are not very clear. The hotel was great! Clean rooms, fabulous breakfast!
"excellent for families with children"
The hotel was very comfortable and kid friendly...The continental breakfast buffet was great for the money. The rooms were of great size. the pool was very small but nice and warm. It also stayed open late and was conveniently indoors. The hotel was close to highway and other popular stores.
"Fine hotel at the right price"
The location was right off the Penn Turnpike (476-in fact you can see it from the exit) so it was extremely convenient (though it should be said that when we got off of 476 north there is a physical barrier separating lanes of travel so we had to drive past the hotel, turn around and approach from the opposite direction to get there. it's no big deal, […] just fyi). Even though it is next to 476, I didnt hear traffic and had a good night sleep. The hotel was clean, person behind the counter was very helpful (she was able to supply us with some personal toiletry items we had forgotten so that was great). The breakfast area is large with a large screen tv; the food selection for breakfast was mainly waffle mix, a melon-type fruit bowl, cold cereal and hard boiled eggs and of course coffee, milk etc. In other words, if you aren't expecting a breakfast, it's certainly better than not having one and we've stayed at places that did not have breakfast up to these standards, but it's not worth staying there simply for the breakfast. I would consider it a nice option to have if there was no time to go elsewhere for breakfast/lunch (note: the hotel is at a location convenient to Jim Thorpe PA which has some great restaurants. ) If you get a great price (as we did) it exceeded expectations. If we paid a full price (as was quoted when we asked about an upgrade), we probably would have looked elsewhere first. Otherwise no complaints and lots to like. Continua a leggere
"Exceeded our expectations!"
Upon check-in, were were pleasantly surprised to learn that a well-stocked breakfast buffet was included in the price of our room. Most of the basics were offered: an assortment of cold cereals, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, toast, juices, coffees, and a DIY Belgian waffle iron. The day we were they also offered French Toast - the front desk clerk mentioned […] that the day before was chipped beef (whatever that is). All in all, it was totally enough for us to fuel up for our morning activates. Free cookies, granola bars and coffee are also offered in the lobby 24/7. The (heated) pool is open until midnight on the weekends, so we were able to take a dip after our drive in from Long Island. Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations and blows away the other "drive-up-to-the-door" motels that we have stayed in on past visits to the area. Continua a leggere

we did not get a non-smoking room as promised but instead got a coupon for 50% off our next stay which will probably never happen because we probably wont go to that area again. However, they went out of their way to accommodate our family reunion which was supposed to happen at State Park on July 4th weekend. State Park ended up being full and so we […] couldn't get in. Hotel allowed us to use their breakfast room for our gathering and let us use the pool and patio area for grilling. What could have ended up being a canceled reunion turned into a saved reunion. It wasn't what we had hoped for, but the hotel saved us! Thank you! We weren't too happy with our smoking room, but this more than made up for it. Continua a leggere

We chose this location because it is so close to Penn's Peak. The hotel was fantastic and close to good pub/restaurants. I will denfinetly try to book there next stay.
"Country Inn Suites - Lehighton - Very Nice"
A very nice, homey atmosphere. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well designed. Road access was inconvenient, but anyone who is familiar with PA roadways should know that this is caused by the lack of roadway crossovers (barriers actually). Blame PENNDOT. The breakfast was good, though I'd characterize it more as a Continental Breakfast rather […] than what is listed. One minor gripe, no ice machine on the second floor. I highly recommend this motel. This is a very nice hotel with friendly staff and great rooms. It was very clean - the room and the pool. The breakfast was great with lots of selection. We would definitely stay there again.

Always enjoy staying at a Country Inn location. This hotel was very nice. Only 2 things that preclude giving 5 stars. There is quite a bit of noise from the Turnpike interchange. The other was the whirlpool was not working so it was truly a 'hot tub'. Other than that, as expected.

"Nice hotel for an on the road overnight stay"
Hotel location is next to the toll exit and requires a "U-turn" to get to without going a few miles out of the way. Also there is not much around the hotel - no shopping and only one restaurant a few miles away. That being said, it is one of the few nice hotels along the way from Syracuse to Allentown that is near interstate 476.
