Le Jazz St-Denis Montréal

Il prima problema è che non è un hotel bensì un ostello. Non avevo il bagno in camera come c'è scritto nella descrizione delle stanze. Non rifacevano neanche il letto la mattina ed in generale c'era molta sporcizia ovunque, sopratutto nella stanza della colazione. Il personale si è dimostrato più volte scortese.

Perfect, except that there wasn't any hot water!!!

Everything was a hassle, arguing with the receptionist and every one in the hotel for the room conditions, all the hotel's staff are very rude and unpolite, I paid a suite for two days and they gave a room without private bathroom and area of 9 x 10 ft, I received a room without towels, dirty and the fridge didn't work and when I talked to the manager […] he told me "I won't change the fridge, it is not my problem that it isn't work and what r u expecting from a hotel of one star" I couldn't believe he said that, in the website the room looked nice but in real life was awful. this is a hostel, which is not your typical hotel. the bathrooms have no soap, shampoo, etc. no ice machine, etc. room was cozy and was within a 10 minute walk to downtown st catherine st. recommended for anyone looking to stay on a budget as the price was great.

As for facilities, I liked it that the kitchen/tv room is in a separate building. Excellent location if you want to see Chinatown, the Latin Quarter. It was packed

I got a "premium" room with my own bathroom and a balcony overlooking Rue Ontario. Positives: Great location (both nightlife and daytime fun), nice staff, decent rates. Negatives: No toilet paper in the bathroom (perhaps because it's a hostel, I bring my own?), TV wires strewn across the floor, balcony has a couple holes in it (I barely felt safe […] going out there, but had to get a view). I did had a comfortable night rest at Le Jazz Motreal after two days of long continuos travel. Self served breakfast. All affordable.

well i went to montreal to go to other places. majority of time in montreal, my luggage had the room to themselves. but at times when i had to rest, the room felt homey and comfortable. i'd have the window open and drift off. other than not having complementary toothpaste (LOL), i'm good with the place.

I didn't have much expectation from a two in a half star motel but I did expect someone to greet me upon my arrival which did not happen. I called the reception an hour prior to my arrival making sure that someone would be at the motel to show me my room for the weekend and the guy whom I spoke with reassured me. However, when I entered the motel the […] reception door was locked and I waited over an hour and nobody bothered to show up. There was another young lady who was also waiting to sign in and the receptionist left us homeless for over an hour. I would definitely not recommend this motel to anyone! Continua a leggere

This is a clean, decent hostel in a great section of Montreal (latin quarter). It's close to a lot of restaurants, nightclubs, cinemas, museums, etc. It's nothing fancy, but for the price you pay, it's a good deal. Bring your earplugs, because you never know who's going to be in your room with you. The hotel was clean, the staff was usually available and always polite. My only issue was that my bunk was not as securely fastened or put together as the others, and would rock violently as I tried to climb it, move on it, or touch it. That was at times a harrowing sleep, let me tell you.

We booked the private double loft room which is up on the third floor of this hostel. It has exposed brick walls, beams with modern lighting, a Jacuzzi, private bath and a front to back layout so opening the windows created a nice breeze (though it has a/c). We thoroughly enjoyed this room - seating area within, tv, fridge and microwave. For the price […] - it can't be beat. We didn't join the hostel goers however for breakfast - we instead went to a coffee/breakfast place across the street. We love the St. Denis area and for this reason, would happily book it again. It is a great for the price, very much a hostel but the bathrooms were better than expected, the beds were as to be expected. Great location in the heart of the Latin Quarter and very close to Le Village and Downtown.

This was an interesting hotel. The room had obviously been cleaned before our arrival, but then someone had used it, and messed up the bedspread and taken a dump without flushing--this made us a bit nervous. We had arrived after midnight, so we had to call the night manager to come, which was expensive because our phones were brought from abroad: nevertheless, […] the night manager came quickly and gave us our keys before going home again, meaning we couldn't tell him about how we found the room. The room otherwise was clean and nicely decorated, with a French bohemian atmosphere, though only half the lightbulbs worked. In the bathroom we had a shower, hair dryer, and bathroom scale, but no towels or toiletries, a combination we found odd. Apparently, we were supposed to ask the night manager for all this, but he'd already left by the time we found out: also, we thought the towels and such should already be in the room... Breakfast was in the back "garden", which looks like a place that if it were kept up, could be a great place to hang out. However, the tables both inside and out were covered in bottles and cans, and all we could see on offer were boxes of cereal; we didn't really feel like using their bowls or silverware, so we went into town to find breakfast. We both got the impression that with a bit more work, this could be a great boutique hotel, but it needs quite a bit of polishing. (Also, a note, not the hotel's fault: do not park overnight outside--no one can be parked on the street between 7 and 9 or so--use the parking area they recommend; Montreal ticketed us for leaving our car on the street) Continua a leggere

I was in Montreal for work for 5 days and eleceted to have the hostel experience (and save some money). It was a great stay! Friendly staff, clean nice accomondations, free wi-fi. The mattresses are thin and those who are sensitive to being aware of the springs might have an issue. Fun to meet people from all over the world. Very good location if you want to be close by the Jazz festival and most of nightlife. I would consider this the only high of this hotel. Customer Service is not good at this hotel, we call a few times asking if we could check in a few minutes earlier than 3pm and they said it was not possible, we got to the door at 3pm and they wouldn't pick up the […] doorbell and made us wait for 40 minutes outside. When they opened the door they were surprised it was already 3pm and the person attending the reception seemed to be high on drugs or something. Even though the room was very comfortable, it got really noisy at night. People would come and go at any hours of the night. We weren't in the hotel at all and would get back to sleep only but we didn't have much luck on this since people would come and go inside the hotel and rooms every 20 or 30 minutes and were very loud and didn't respect quiet hours. Cleanliness was ok but I think customer service could have been much better specially when compared to other hotels in the area that were cheaper and provided better service and cleanliness. This kind of hotel is like Blue Hotel or Hotel California. Le Jazz St Denis is the hotel where you think you go as another hotel but the reality is this hotel is magic ! Le Jazz St Denis allow you to a self discovery and discover awesome people such as Debora, Tara, Karim, Assan .... I loves this hotel and I met so interesting people full of love […] ! I got what I paid for, specially considering the breakfast was included. Service wasn't great, I had to wait a half hour before having someone available to give me my room key, the bed really wasn't very comfortable, but facilities were relatively clean. Breakfast was very homy, fridge with cereal, juice, coffee, and toast. Wouldn't recommend it for […] a long stay, but for just a night, great idea, specially for the great location. The staff were fantastic and helpful at every turn. They likely deserve a raise. The rooms were neat and clean. The courtyard could use some upkeep, but there is free wifi, which rocks. The location is awesome if your looking for fun on Sainte Denis or Catherine. Also walkable to old city and the docks. Nice location, friendly staff. One set back is it's really a hostel - for a delux room, you will still need to bring your own shower gel, shampoo and conditioner.

It is what it is. It's ain't the Hilton but compared to the cost of the Hilton, I'll take it any day. I was only going to be there for one night and did not plan on being in the room except to sleep and perhaps freshin' up. It's similar to a hostel. The bath is shared but is in the room. There is a shower (bring your own towel) and toilet and sink. […] If you need to lock up any personals there are lockers but you need to bring your own lock. what a wonderful experience. this was my first hostel and now i can't wait to experience others as i will go back to this one definitely. great location, wonderful restaurants close by and everything in walking distance. very clean and quite.

We had a private room. It was very cosy and comfortable but the bathroom wasn't great. The shower was dirty and there were only two jand-towels. The hostel advertises a kitchen but it is in a shed-type facility with no floor...very untidy.

Great place to stay if you are looking for a cheap place to rest your head and not too mention THE LOCATION IS PERFECT!!!!~

I made the mistake of paying for overnight parking at the lot at the corner of St. Denis and Ontario. When my ticket came out, I noticed it expired at 6AM!!! Inside the hotel they gave me directions to a nearby public parking spot underground and under video surveillance. AM departure is 12 hrs. from when you purchased the ticket. ;{ )

I stayed one night, not realizing it's in the midst of an exciting part of town. The evening clerk, Kieran (if I'm spelling it correctly), was extremely helpful.

We got one of the Delux rooms for a very reasonable price. It had a truly excellent mattress and sheets on the bed and the Jacuzzi was luxurious. One negative though, I feel a "Delux" room should come with the basic toiletries. We had to buy our own soap, shampoo and conditioner. Other than that, it was great. I'm pretty sure this "hotel" was half hotel, half hostel, because I slept in a bunk bed in a 6 bed room. Not a problem, I was looking to travel as cheap as possible and obviously I can't get a room at the Hilton for pennies on the dollar. Anyways, the beds were pretty tiny but workable, the shower was pretty ghetto wish empty soap despsncers and the […] toilet and sink were clean, so that's pretty good I guess. The one thing that upset me was that there was no parking, except for an underground lot a few blocks away which I couldn't even find. So I parked out front of the building instead but my car got towed at 3am! I hadn't violated any laws, except that apparently the city will tow all cars off a street if they want to clear away any remaining snow. Being an out of town'er, I was completely unaware of this bi-law and I would have appreciated a heads up from staff because I had to spend $120 and a whole afternoon tracking down my car. There goes the money I was trying to save (and then some) by staying at this hotel. AND THEN, because I was totally stranded, I had to stick around at the hotel to use their internet and such to locate my car, I wound up staying there past the check out time of 11am and i had to pay a "late check out fee" which equaled another nights stay. More money spent. Lastly, I'm pretty sure there was a mouse or rat in my room, I definitely heard some scurrying noises at night. Overall it was by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had. The hotel was near several places for food and beer. It was an easy walk to the old city.

great place to stay,.. the staff was very friendly and enthusiastic, also the place is just across the street from Latin Quarter.. the party neighborhood in Montreal.. I would like to congratulate the staff... you are doing a good jog guys!!!..

Upon turning the key and entering room 402 with luggage in tow, we were overwhelmed by what we saw: an extraordinarily spacious room including a four-post bed, two luxurious couches, a jacuzzi, and bathroom left us speechless. The wood and brick gave it a rustic feel, yet a glance out the window revealed its optimal location in the heart of the city. […] I proudly showed a picture of the room to a Montreal native, and he could not believe his eyes. Room was advertised to have a queen size bed - the bed was only full size. TV and telephone were not hooked up. Other than that the place was fine and less stuffy than the Hotel St. Denis, right around the corner.

Although the young staffer was initially puzzled by our request for a rollaway cot (advertised as available on the website), he found one and carried it all the way up the four flights of stairs! The hotel is actually a hostel. Expect a lot of young backpackers as fellow guests. The neighborhood is lively and noisy. Our private little garret room had […] a bathtub under the eaves.
