"Grande vista su Manhattan"
Recensito da un utente di Hotels.com in data 25 feb 2013La posizione è stupenda in quanto si trova direttamente di fronte a Central Park. La nostra camera era veramente spaziosa. Per la colazione è meglio premurarsi che sia già pagata o meno altrimenti viene addebitata sulla camera e poi bisogna spiegare che era già pagata. Attenzione al frigo bar, ogni tanto caricano sul conto consumazioni non fatte. Nel nostro caso, dopo una breve spiegazione, hanno provveduto immediatamente a cancellarla dal conto finale e senza fare troppe storie. Il personale è stato gentile a parte qualche cameriere un po scorbutico durante la colazione ma con il quale abbiamo subito chiarito, parlando noi un buon inglese.

Ottimo hotel, vicinissimo alla metropolitana verde che attraversa tutta Manhattan. Ho prenotato un monolocale (con cucinino e frigo): bello e spazioso!!! The lobby is unpleasant as weell as the stairs. At our arrival one person (female) of the desk was very rude remaining on the phone while she was responding to me. Very kind and useful people at the concierge. The sight from the windows was wonderful but we were at higher floors. Hall angusta , con solo 4 poltroncine dove approfittare del servizio wifi gratuito per un'ora. Ascensori insufficienti per 32 piani . Perdita d'acqua dal soffitto durante la notte , con cambio di stanza l'indomani senza che ci avessero neppure […] portato le valige, visto il disservizio. Climatizzatore rumorosissimo e non bloccabile. Prese della corrente numericamente scarse e insicure poichè non ben incassate nel muro. Palestra abbastanza completa con macchine moderne e funzionanti. Ci siamo trovati benissimo, avevamo una stanza con soggiorno e cucina completa e quest'ultima si è rilevata utilissima. La vista magnifica, finestre immense con vista da poster e personale cortese e disponibile. Un problema al condizionatore ma hanno inviato un tecnico che anche se non ha potuto ripristinare l'accensione dal telecomando ci ha permesso […] di attivare l'accensione manualmente aprendo il fancoil. Arredamento datato ma decoroso e pulito. Lo consigliamo sia alle coppie che alle famiglie, vista la comodità della cucina, ci torneremo sicuramente. "Not worth the price"
We were not at all satisfied with the first room offered to us since it reeked of fried food and didn't have a safe. We were denied a different room, even though it was barely check-in time, and were told the hotel was overbooked. We even asked to be downgraded, that request was denied as well. On the second day, we were finally offered a different […] room, but came back in the afternoon to find our room had been emptied, and we were stranded in the lobby until 3 o'clock. "Midtown - Close to Sights"
We chose the Affinia Dumont based on a previous stay. Centrally located, near a metro stop and surrounded by (relatively) inexpensive eateries it is a safe and pleasant place. Each room has a refrigerator and small kitchenette, especially helpful to store breakfast items, coffee, snacks, etc. You can get anything you need from a good, local market right […] down the street. Beds and heating/air conditioning controls are very comfortable and that is important to us. The hotel is safe, clean and staff is very friendly. Rooms are larger than most NYC hotels and there is a sitting area a very large desk and work area. The cleaning staff will go out of their way to see to your needs. There is a small workout room with treadmills and some other basic equipment, also a full-service massage and facial spa! This time there seemed to be a LOT of sirens, street noise and it was a bit interruptive. Use the ear plugs the hotel provides if you want to be ensured a quieter nights' sleep. We were traveling with our teenage granddaughter. When we asked for an extra blanket for the sofa bed, we were told that they had none and they brought up three sheets instead,. Pretty much what I expected. Excellent location 2 blks from no. 6 subway - easy travel uptown (Fifth AVE museums) or downtown. Mini kitchen handy w/ fridge, microwave & toaster though the lack of utensils would have made actual cooking (vs. reheating or minor prep) out of the question. Clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable beds. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The only thing that marred our 3 nt stay was a 5 AM wake up call that was intended for another room! "Outstanding value for money"
We stayed here with friends recently, booking two double queen suites. The rooms were big with comfortable beds and well equipped kitchens in both - easily as good as a typical 4 or even 5 star business traveller hotel, but for a 3 star price. And the location was perfect, close to the junction of 34th and Lexington meaning that at the junction you […] can see both the Empire State Building (10 minutes walk away on 34th) and the Chrysler Building (on Lexington). Also within easy walking distance are Macy's, Grand Central Station, the UN Building, and lots more. 33rd Street subway is also close by. Excellent room. Very large by NYC standards and (unusually) a kitchenette with a large fridge/ microwave and sink. Bed was VERY comfortable and fab HD large television. Traffic a bit noisy (we were on 14th floor!) but its New York I suppose. Only black mark was the cost of a bottle of water on last night from mini bar cost a ridiculous $7,62. Why?? "Good location, clean room and safe area."
My husband and I stayed for a night in the city as we tend to do every now and then. The location of the hotel is safe and only a couple of blocks away from the subway station. If you are use to walking it is only about 10 blocks from Grand Central Station. Korean town or K-town is just a few blocks away and so does the Empire State Building. There […] are plenty of restaurans in the area. We were given a room with a kitchen (fridge, microwave, stove, cooking utensils, etc). This is good for family and those who are on extended stay. Usually this is what hotels do when you stay with them for the first time. They put you in a room with all the extra amenities so you will come back or recommend to others. "Nice neighborhood, pleasant staff."
Good for the price. Nice neighborhood. Travel with kids makes kitchen a nice plus. 2 nights of very noisy heater kept us from a good nights rest. The rooms were very spacious. Furniture was new and comfortable. Large room included sitting area and a large desk. Th kitchenette was fully equiped. The view from my room (37th floor) was splendid! Booked two rooms for my family, overall a great experience. The only problem was the heat and the internet...both were broken. If those things were taken care of, it would have been perfect.
