I'm surprised if you haven't been sued! Both my hisband and I could not keep the shower on a normal temperature-no matter what time of day or night we showered! It was either luke-warm-then cold-then burning hot! ( I mean SCALDING HOT!) we would have to jump back and forth from under the shower head to either not get burned or frozen! If you set the […] taps then turned the shower on you got a completely different temp from the shower. I was attending a funeral, and my mothers house is close by. Overall the hotel room was comfortable. The building was not in the best shape, and the advertised sauna / hot tub were out of commission.

The hotel I booked on Hotels.com was a Howard Johnson on Portage Ave. Winnipeg. I am from here and myself could not remember this hotel being there. Go figure, it was out in the boonies, near the perimeter about a half hour drive to downtown. We stayed for 3 nights, in the motel part of the hotel. Private, inexpensive, and kinda run down room. The housekeepers […] kept my room very clean I was surprised. Thumbs up to the housekeepers, thumbs down to the lack of renovations. P.S. Whirlpool and sauna were OOO. Continua a leggere

i liked the front desk people and the maid was great. the maind was outside my door when i exited in the morning and was saying she was trying to be as quiet as possible...she was so sweet oferring to help me with my bags down the stairs......she called me "hom"...i liked that and left a $20 tip

Hotel is good for a sleep. Nothing major wrong with it. Parking is in the back which is a little innocence. Was on out skirts of city so easy to travel out in the morning. Pub down stairs was very nice with good service and good food.

The hotel room smelled of cemical cleaners from the moment I got in there and until I left. I left upon awaking. Wondered what happened to cause that.

Check-in was quick and easy. Our room was neat and clean but a bit too warm. The hallways were a bit dirty. The sauna and hot tub were out of service and had been that way for several months. Management indicated that a major renovation was scheduled for sometime in 2012.

Had a very nice bar/grill downstairs. WIFI SUCKS. NO HOT TUB AND SAUNA UNLIKE WHAT THE SITE ADVERTISED!!!!

Friendly staff, bed was good, old building, the room was old and outdated , bathroom needs renovation, old electric wall heater, the thermostat did not work, but the room was at good temp after the clerk came in and 'fixed" the thermostat; no front parking, the back parking does not have a direct entrance to the back of the hotel, had to walk thru the […] restaurant, no elevator to the second floor, smoking smell along the hallways. Great price, clean. Dated furniture, not in the greatest area of town. Good if you are looking to save a buck. Good restaurant.

The hotel was just great. Although there were no extra frills and the wireless internet was a little patchy, the price was great and the location was good. The staff were extra friendly and helpful. All in all, a good hotel.

do NOT stay here. broken sinks, internet is only slow and all the sauna and hottub is of service and no elevator.

The staff were very nice and helpful. I travelled with 3 young children and they always offered to carry a bag or asked if I needed a hand with anything.

This hotel served it's purpose... relatively comfortable & the small cafe on site was useful. Our phone message light was flashing when we checked in & we couldn't use our calling card to call long distance. Front desk clerk said she didn't know how to fix it & could do nothing. Although "free internet" was part of the package, it didn't reach to our […] outside rooms... the only place it worked & slowly was in the lobby. As business travellers, this wasn't particularly helpful. Again, asking at the front desk got this response, "Yes, the internet has been awful lately... we don't know why". One of the best things about this hotel is the family run restaurant in the lobby level - good food for the pricepoint! Which is the same for the hotel - you don't pay a lot, and you don't get a lot, but it's better than some.

Room - musty, old. air conditioner was ancient, loud, and stinky. The bathroom was clean, but mould around bathtub. The wireless nternet connection was crap - really, REALLY slow. I had to take my laptop and go to the lobby to get a signal. Very sub-par compared to comparable price locations in other cities. No breakfast included. I was surprised of the quality ... I have expected some as common restroom in the floor :) because 1 1/2 star, but there was a clean room , flat TV and no smell in the room and so on ... I have seen 2-3 star hotels worse then this... I truly recommend this hotel, if you don't want some luxury , but functional

1st room door lock broken 2nd room ended up over the bar - boom boom... 3 room - ok airconditioner not working properly, - rooms were shabby, pool, sauna, not working Do Not use!!!!!!!

Hotel ok for the price. Wi-Fi works fast enough. Kind of far away of downtown.

Awesome! Such a good hotel for such a decent price, beds were queen size and comfortable, room was spacious and CLEAN. Would definitely go back!

This was a good hotel for the price. I believe there are better deals out there. I will not be staying at this hotel again. I would pay more to get a nicer hotel. The parking was nice at the Howard Johnson.

The hotel is somewhat long-in-the-tooth, but reasonably well maintained and the room and bathroom were clean and everything worked as it should. It's a bit inconvenient walking to the second floor (no elevator) and getting from the rear parking lot outside of restaurant hours, since the rear door is locked. all in all this isn't a bad place to stay if you don't plan on spending much of your time in the hotelroom. It had everything we needed and for the discounted price we got it was great however when I discovered what the room went for normally I became a bit more critical. This is the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in and the customer service was lacking so much that I am extremely surprised that they are still in business. First off my Dad (a senior) and I spent the night here so we could fly out the next morning. The first issue that I noticed when arriving was that the add on-line states that there is a 'hot tub" […] and while is it on site it is not functional and is effect being removed from the facility. Ok understandable but not apology was made on behalf of the hotel. Next after checking into the prepaid room I inquired where the elevator was .... there is NO ELEVATOR at this location and they were fully booked so we had to take the room given, again no apology or assistance was offered. Once we got to the very out-dated room, we found the TV / cable reception was horrible. The front desk was contacted and the worker sent up stated "just wiggle the cable cord on the back of the TV". Then our room phone starts to ring and when answered it is another room in the hotel attempting to place a room service order, at first we laughed ... then more calls started coming in from different rooms in the hotel. It turns out that earlier that week the hotel had changed the room service menu and inadvertently place a room number (OURS) as the extension for room service. When the front desk was contacted about this, the response was "oh we know, we will have house keeping remove the menus tomorrow morning - we can't interpret our guest tonight to get them". Needless to stay we will never be staying here again and I am very much thinking about never using this chain of hotels in the future, simply because of the lack of customer service or even basic human decency displayed in this visit. Recommended if you're looking for minimal accommodations at a fair price (we booked with an added price reduction). The place was comfortable and clean, but outdated and sort of dingy feeling. The hot tub and sauna were out of order (and swayed our decision to stay there in the first place). The beds were comfortable and there was adequate hot water. […] The presence of a gambling room was suggested as an attraction by desk staff - a quick walk through of this common area proved to be very smoky and again outdated. The Wi Fi didn't work on the side of the motel that I was staying in if you need Wi Fi make sure you specify you need to be in the area of the motel were you can get it.

the only thing that was a problem was the bathroom door that would stick. we had a fantastic stay and the people were very kind

I woud never stay at this hotel/motel ever again, no matter what the price. One day they forgot to clean the room, and I'm sure one of the blankets had an unmentionable stain on it when I moved in. The bar was just below me, which was noisy enough, but there was a large number of rowdy people outside the bar, hanging around in the parking lot, yelling […] and screaming. miss lead on the location!! The internet disclosed that the Hotel was 4 minutes from the airport!!! not the case it costed a lot more in taxi fare then it was worth!!
