The location is good if you don't mind noise - lots of noise. It was easy walking distance from a number of shopping areas and town square, train station, etc . . .Our room was spacious enough and robe/slippers along with towel warmer were great. However, we wanted air conditioning for the late afternoons/evenings and despite the hotel advertising as […] "having air conditioning", we were told that it was not available yet, only heat. So, to combat the stuffiness, we had to open our windows at night which was terribly loud! We did not sleep much! Shower door had some issues and would not stay closed and a light bulb directly above the sink was burnt out the entire trip. Staff was nice enough. Continua a leggere

Excellent hotel and location for seeing nice, staff so helpful and polite, rooms spotless cleaning staff great. Would recommend to everyone for business or leisure stays.

Goldstar is close to the beach and restaurants. You can walk there from the train station in about 15 mins. Staff were helpful. It was clean. The bed was a bit hard but ok. There isn't a view of the beach from the hotel but I would stay again.

Good location and comfortable. Needs to have better kitchen facilities, bare minimum of kitchen utensils, a sharp knife should be present not just a bread knife, should also have a cutting board and category/ plunger for coffee.

Very convenient location, right between the airport & Nice Old Town, also just a few hundred yards' walk from the beach. Hotel staffs are friendly & helpful. Room is very spacial, clean & comfortable. Really enjoyed the sun bath on top of the hotel, next to the pool. Love the sauna as well. Rooms were nice, but front desk service was very poor. Check in was difficult; unable to get enough towels; staff unable to help direct us to local attractions. Also, the hotel would only allow ONE key per room, eventho' we had 3 people in the room!!! Also, you had to bring bath towels to the pool. I really liked this hotel. I found it to be convenient, clean and comfortable. The staff during the day was pleasant, but did not speak English well. The night manager was more profiicent in English and better able to answer my questions in a more clear manner. The workout room was ridiculous and should not be even called this. Very good hotel in every respect for the price I got

This was my first time to the South of France and I was thrilled with the choice of this hotel. I read the reviews on hotel.com, and chose this because it had a kitchette and nice big tub. We were upgraded, so nice surprise there. The room was a one bedroom apartment! Very chic, comfortable, and convienent. It is not on the beach, but only a few minutes […] walk to the beach, so that was not an issue for us. The staff spoke pretty good English and were helpful, much more so than the Paris hotels we stayed at. There was some issues with the shower, which they quickly resolved by giving us another room to shower in the first day till they repaired ours in the morning, but other than that, the room and service were much more than I expected for the price we paid. The hotel in Paris was much more and the service and room qualifty was less. I strongly recommend you check this hotel out if you don't mind not being right on the beach. Continua a leggere

Very positive experience. the rooms were great and the staff very friendly. Even got an upgrade to a suite instead of our regular room. 3 blocks away from the beach and from the beach restaurants and shopping area. Great fitness/pool/sauna area on the roof of the hotel.

just popped in for one night between getting a train from paris and a ferry to corsica. This hotel was a treat of a place to regroup, repack, relax and feel spoiled between long travel legs. This is a family owned hotel located 3 blocks from Promenade des Anglais. The location is excellent both for the beach and for shopping/walking. The staff is very friendly and speaks English. We had a junior suite which was ideal for a family of 3 with a teenage son. The room and bathroom was quite spacious with modern fixtures and well air conditioned. […] The hotel has a restaurant, bar and pool on the upper floor and everything is well maintained. Because of our overseas flight we arrived earlier than their check-in time and the hotel staff graciously accommodated us in the bar area while our room was prepared. The Goldstar Suites are modern, clean, comfortable and quiet. They are within walking distance of the main shopping area and the old town and a short stroll from Promenade des Anglais. We would definitiely stay there again.

Very conveniently located hotel just off San Marco Plazza (only one small bridge to cross). The room is smallish but fine; clean and modern. Could not figure out how to turn on the air-conditioning, so we opened the windows, which let in a lot of human traffic noise from the well-like "campo" (square). The Goldstar Resort is one of the best hotels we've stayed in for a city break. The location is superb being able to walk to all the important tourist spots. It has convenient car parking -albeit expensive - but we had already checked by telephone and knew the costs. I stayed at the Goldstar during August 2009 with my partner and 2 year old son. The hotel was everything the website said it would be. The staff were all very courteous and helpful. Our suite was spotless, comfy, spacious and the bed plenty big enough for the 3 of us, as my son decided he didn't want to sleep in his blow up bed. Stayed at Goldstar from 18 to 21 June 2009. There are 3 girls in our 40s and this was our first time in Nice. We all agreed that our high expectations were exceeded - the staff were polite and pleasant at all times. The apartments were comfortable and clean and easily big enough for us. We used the sun beds in the pool area on the roof every day of […] our stay. Although the pool isn't huge, it was sufficent for cooling off and having a brief swim. We didn't eat or drink at the hotel. The staff called a taxi for us, got us new towels quickly when they had forgotten to put 3 sets back in and fetched a towel that had fallen out the window when put out to dry so couldn't have been more helpful. The hotel was very easy to find when we got off the bus from the airport on the prom. Our room was upgraded on arrival to a junior suite. Very comfortable. The black out shutters are fantastic. The staff were very friendly and helped us with any request. The sunbathing area is great it really does catch the sun ad there is a pool to cool off in. The […] fitness room has enough equipment for a reasonable workout and the prom is 10km - great for a run. The location is very good only &(min walk max to the old town and is 5mins from the new towns shops and also the train station is approx 10mins away. Very nice hotel, about 3 blocks off the beach so it was also cheaper than the hotels on the strip. Had a great pool on the roof, and a kitchen in the room. (Which is nice for keeping and re-heating leftovers). We expected it to be off the beach, which is why it was cheaper than the other nice hotels, but it was also a good 15 minute walk from the old […] town area where all of the nightlife in Nice is. So overall, good location but would have been nice to be a tad closer to the nightlife. The rooms themselves were fantastic. They had blackout blinds in our room that were truly blackout blinds. LOVED that. The bed was way too firm though, almost like sleeping on the floor. That was the only downfall to the room in my opinion. The pool on the roof was great, and the lobby was very nice. They had a computer with free internet access, and a printer attached - which came in very handy for us. Also the wifi was free, which was an awesome perk. Continua a leggere

Nous avons séjourné à l'hôtel dans une suite Ambassadeur et c'était merveilleux pour notre petite famille (2 adultes, 2 enfants). Les enfants ont bien apprécié la piscine intérieure. Il n'y a pas de vue sur mer mais c'est quand même très près ! Nous sommes allés à Monaco en train et la gare se fait très bien à pied aussi. Grei beliggenhet, lite trafikkstøy. God service. Koselig basseng på taket. Consul suite fungerte bra for en familie, godt velikeholdt og plettfri rengjøring.

Helt supert, mye for pengene!

Ett bra hotell med kort avtand til promenaden. (Max 5 minutt gange). Hotellet var veldig bra, og servicen upåklagelig. Jeg vil ikke anbefale frokosten på hotellet, ikke nødvendigvis fordi denne var dårlig, for det var den ikke. Men mer på grunn av prisen. 20Euro per person er i overkant for meg. Det ligger uktrolig mange flotte og gode cafe'er 2 minutt […] fra hotellet. Bassengområde og takterrassen er flott. Jeg personlig brukte det kun til ettermiddagssoling, samt venteområde (i baren) til min kone var ferdig stelt. Grunnen til at område ble lite brukt av oss var at stranden lå 5 minutt unna og at det var litt trangt om plassen. Gratis wifi, samt egne gjeste pcer ved resepsjonen var bra. De ansatte hadde en veldig bra serviceholdning, og hjalp oss med både utflykter, restaurant valg og uteliv. NB!! Hotellet har ikke privat strand slik vi trodde. De har tilgang til privat strand med reduserte priser. 17 Euro per person, samt 5 Euro per håndkle. I tillegg var prisene i restauranten på stranden relativt stiv. Vi brukte denne stranden 2 dager, men det funker og godt på "public" beach rett ved siden av. Men da bør en kjøpe inn luftmadrass ol. da det er en rullesten strand. Husk badesko. Stranden er milt sagt IKKE BARNEVENNLIG. Høye bølger og mye undervannsstrøm. Continua a leggere

Mukava hotelli kun matkustat pienten lasten kanssa. Me olimme matkassa taaperoikäisen sekä vauvan kanssa. Hotellissa on tilavat hissit, helppo kulkea myös rattailla. Huoneessa pieni kätevä keittiö, jossa vedenkeitin, astianpesukone ja neljä kpl jokaista astiaa (ota halutessasi käsiastianpesuaine mukaan, sitä ei saanut hotellista.) Makuuhuoneen saa […] erotettua olohuoneesta. Lattia on laattalattia eli saattaa olla viileä lapsille, mutta pukeutumisella selviää kyllä. Vinkki: Vauvansänky mahtui makuuhuoneeseen, kun hiukan siirsi parisänkyä ja olohuoneeseen jäi sohva oleskelua varten sekä pöytäryhmä paremmin käytettäviin. Uima-allastasolla myös matala lasten allas sekä mukavat aurinkotuolit eli ei tarvitse lähteä maksullisille ja kivisille rannoille nauttimaan auringosta. Lyhyt matka joka paikkaan, kävellen pääsee kävelykadulle, vanhaan kaupunkiin, rannalle, ostoskadulle jne. Chagallin ja Matissen museoille suora bussiyhteys läheltä hotellia. Continua a leggere

Korkeatasoinen hotelli rautatieaseman ja rannan puolivälissä, joten formulaviikonlopulle aika täydelölinen sijainti. Huone ei niin suuri kuin olisi kuvitellut, mutta ihan ok. Aamiainen ei hintaan 20€ nähden kovinkaan kummoinen, uimaallas katolla oli hyvä, mutta baari saisi olla myöhempään auki, tästä syystä jäi käyttämättä, netissä oli maininta lentokenttäkuljetuksesta, […] joka olisi ollut lisähinnasta 50€.... Vi hadde et flott opphold på Goldstar og er svært fornøyd med rommet, beligenhet og service hos personal. Frokosten var ok men med den stive prisen (20 Euro) hadde jeg forventet enda litt mer. Prisen på alkohol og mat var heller ikke rimelig. Beligenhet likte vi godt. 5 minutt til togstasjon og til stranden. Under 10 minutt til shopping gata og ca 10-15 […] til gamlebyen. Korkeatasoinen isohko huone keittiöllä ja kylpyhuoneella aivan Nizzan keskustassa. Kävelymatka Jean Medecin-kauppakadulle 10 minuuttia, rantaan Promenade des Anglaisille 5 minuuttia. Huoneen varustelu huippuluokkaa, keittiössä astiasto ja tiskikone sekä mikro ja vedenkeitin, joten aamiaiset voi tehdä helposti itsekin. Lähistöllä useita ruokakauppoja. […] Myös hotellin aamiainen huippuluokkaa, syödä voi terassilla 6. kerroksessa, tosin aamiainen aika hintava. Hotellin ylimmällä kattoterassilla pieni katettu uima-allas ja auringonottoterassi. Hotellihuoneessa langaton wi-fi ja hyvä tv. Kylpyhuoneessa iso amme ja sadevesisuihu. Receptionissa mukavaa ja ystävällistä henkilökuntaa, huoneeseen ei kuulunut mitään melua ja ikkunat sai pimennettyä auringolta joten uni maistui pitkään. Ilmastointi. Suosittelen lämpimästi! Veldig fornøyd med dette hotellet! Ble oppgradert til en bedre suite den dagen vi kom,og rommet var veldig bra med utsikt over byen! Hadde fin gangavstand til det aller meste,og det var heller ikke langt fra flyplassen. Anbefales å bestille reise fra flyplassen gjennom hotellet da det kostet nesten dobbelt så mye med taxi hvis ikke. Pene nyoppussede […] rom,med ett lite kjøkken. Frokosten på hotellet var da ikke noe å skryte av,så da kan kjøkken brukes til å lage en mye billigere og bedre frokost selv. Deilig basseng på taket,der man også kunne nyte en matbit fra den Michelinguide-anbefalte restauranten som var på hotellet.. eneste minus der var at det bare fantes Franske menyer,så var vanskelig å skjønne for vår del. We got 'upgraded' to an Ambassador suite from the Junior Suite. A huge space with king size bed, fold out leather couch, flatscreen tvs, free wifi, big bath with waterfall shower and a kitchenette, all in a tasteful modern style. The bed was extremely comfortable with good linens and great pillows. I complain about pillows in almost all hotels, but […] these were spot-on. We didnt use the kitchen much but everything was there to cook if you wanted. The living area was very comfortable and two could sleep easily and comfortably on the fold-out sofa. Black out shutters were exactly that- which made going to the toilet in the night an adventure- pitch black! The staff were friendly and helpful. On the 6th floor is a restaurant where you can have breakfast- excellent value with a great selection- but you can take you breakfast upstairs to the terrace where the pool is and look over the rooftops of Nice. There is a small pool and a fitness area, steam room and sauna. The hotel is situated 4 blocks from the beach, with many restaurants, cafes and shops around, and a short stroll from the main shopping/eating area. If I absolutely had to complain about something: -we were on the 1st floor street facing and there was some noise from the passing buses. -I like to have an iron and board in the room, only laundry service was possible. -I didn't like the coffee, but that's just me being fussy about coffee. In summary, a great stay and good value. I will definitely be back and would happily recommend to others. Continua a leggere

Gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis insbesondere für Familien (aufgrund der angebotenen Suiten sowie des Freizeitbereichs auf dem Dach des Hotels). Alles sehr sauber, tolles Personal, gute Lage.

Bra hotell, bare suiter. Hotellet ligger godt til i forhold til strand, togsstasjon, shopping og restauranter. Noe problem med at vårt rom var litt slitt eks. kunne ikke åpne vindu på soverommet, sofa var litt ødelagt. En kveld sluttet batteriet i dørlåsen å virke: Hotellet klarte ikke å åpne døren, vi må sove i en annen suite. De fikset det neste dag. We where welcomed by a very nice receptionist that could inform us that we have been upgraded - what a great start! The room was very spacious and the standard is very high compared to trad French standards. A nice swimmingpool and roof terrace where you can enjoy a delightful french lunch and wine under the parasol! Breakfast was very good as well […] - the only thing I would say was not according to the expecations was the quality of the equipment in the fitness room - but we brought sneakers - so we had a run @ the promenade. Vårt intryck av hotellet var ganska blandat. Exteriör och lobby lovar mycket, men själva rummet var kalt och förvånansvärt enkelt. Utsikten över nästa hotell var också ganska oinspirerande. Positivt med kylskåp och matlagningsmöjligheter, vi reste med små barn. Men, bäddsoffan lämnar mycket att önska och det går i praktiken inte att räkna med den för […] en längre vistelse. Le personnel de la réception est totalement réactif. Une partie du personnel ne parle pas le français ou l'anglais. Des avis outrageants figurent dans la présentation des "règles" à observer, genre autant à payer si vous prenez des essuies à la plage, si vous ne nettoyez pas la cuisine, si vous perdez la carte magnétique, etc etc. Nous avions l'impression […] que l'hotel nous faisait une grande faveur en daignant nous accepter chez eux.
