Having never been to Myrtle Beach before..... This hotel is way north on north MB. Definitely need a car to get places. Parking for the hotel is in several places across from hotel and may take several times at different areas to find a spot. Hotel is kind of dated but clean and staff nice. It was fair, housekeeping wasn't good. They only came to our room if we called. There were no closets or hooks to hang your clothes in the room. Hotel could use an update. "Great location and amenities but..."
The hotel was well maintained for an old building. You cannot beat being on the beach. However our room had no comfortable chair to sit on. The only thing other than bed was two straight back wooden chairs at small table. Location was great right at the Beach, but the Hotel is not in good shape. We arrived on Friday evening and for some reason the indoor pool was closed. We were only staying thru Sunday. Fri evening and Sat were the only 2 days my kids and I could enjoy the pool. "Will stay again!"
Hi! Stayed at Ocean Reef Resort only one night, but I’m highly impressed after only one night with Ocean Reef hotel & staff. Check in was a snap; the lady that checked me in was very nice & knew what she was doing, and I can also say the same for when I checked out! :) The parts of Ocean Reef that I saw were very clean, and nicely decorated; did not […] use or venture near the pool, but it looked well kept; also didn’t use the restaurant, or the bar. I stayed in an ocean front deluxe room with 2 queen beds; which were comfortable, and in good shape. Room was very clean, had everything I needed for that stay. Oh Ya! Since I wanted to catch the Final Four Basketball; the room had a nice, big HD flat screen. :) My only negative would be that there was no desk for a computer, or electrical hookups; there was a table with 2 chairs though. For what I got, I liked the price I paid & might book at a few $ higher. Would I stay there again? Oh Yes! Especially at the price I paid! Enjoy! You always wonder if it's going to look like the pictures well this one does. It was great the staff was very friendly. Most all of the staff greated you every time you met them. The breakfast buffett was good simple good choyces breakfast stuff you can get your egg cooked to order. Pool areas are nice open inside and out. One thing i think would help […] first timers is give us some better understanding of the parking lot. Hotel was very clean and appearence was nice. It was a quick getaway with friends. My only issue was the room walls are apparently very thin because our friends along with my wife and I were just talking in the room not being very loud and we got two complaint calls by security in their room which was on the 6th floor and in our room which was on the […] 9th out on the balcony. "New Management is taking this hotel down hill."
This is probably my 10th stay in this hotel during the last 7 years. This hotel was one of the best among the area but ever since the new management took over is definitely going down hill. I checked inn this last weekend and for some reason they decided to paint the rooms with probably one of the cheapest paint in the marked. The odor was horrible, […] in fact it was the same in the three rooms that they moved me in. You're probably asking why I decided to stay.
