Abbiamo passato 20gg a Santa Cruz per un corso di studi presso l'Università. Avevamo l'auto quindi la distanza dalla città e dall'università non sono stati un problema. La stanza 317 era posizionata sulla destra del grande parcheggio dal lato opposto dei campi da golf e verso il bosco, quindi distante dalla strada 17 di grande scorrimento. L'albergo ha un ristorante molto buono, tra i migliori della zona, ovviamente riferito al cibo americano. la stanza è stata pulita tutti i gironi con cambio degli asciugami. C'è un frigorifero vuoto ma funzionante per eventuali necessità, e la macchina del caffè americano con 2 cialde al giorno. L'unico grande difetto per noi è stata la colazione,yougurt, dolci, uova sode fredde tenute nel ghiaccio, no pane, no cereali, no cibo salato (prosciutto, formaggio, ecc.), ovviamente caffe e latte. non abbiamo avuto particolari necessità quindi non possiamo dare un giudizio sul personale dell'albergo. Quello del ristorante, dove abbiamo mangiato diverse volte è molto gentile, e il locale è accogliente. Se vi capita approfittate del brunch la domanica, con 20$ a testa potrete assaggiare un menù ampio e ben cucinato.

Siamo capitati in un periodo di tempo orribile (pioggia e vento in abbondanza) con discreti problemi anche alla viabilità. Il Sunset Inn ci è apparso come un rifugio tranquillo ed accogliente. La struttura appare simile a tanti motel americani ma con un tocco in più di raffinatezza e cura nei dettagli. La location, poi, è davvero splendida. Da consigliare assolutamente.

This is the cleanest and nicest of the hotels we've stayed at in Santa Cruz.
"Close enough to walk downtown"
The Best Western All Suites in Santa Cruz was exactly what we were looking for. A place to crash after a busy day at the boardwalk and dinner and drinks downtown. The room was handicap accessible so it was very open except the bathroom which had a large bath/shower combo along with toilet. Anyone in a wheelchair would be hard pressed to navigate that […] cramped space. The best part of the room was the comfortable bed and bedding. I slept well except for a loud noise that woke me up unexpectedly. Turned out to be someone's shower but it sounded like a waterfall in our room! Even when our shower was running it didn't sound nearly as loud. Overall I thought it was comfortable and convenient for the price paid. Everyone knows Santa Cruz hotels are overpriced for what you get, but I thought this hotel was worth pretty close to what we paid. Continua a leggere

"Best Western All Suites Inn"
Although the room was large, with all of the amenities of a suite, there were some major problems. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable...so much so that I slept on the couch the second night of our stay. The other issue was the heater/air conditioner. Luckily, we didn't have to use it frequently, but when we did use it, it was loud enough to disturb […] sleep. It sounded like we were inside a factory when the heater/air conditioner was running. I've stayed here on several occasions. Great place that is really central to most of the attractions. This time I booked late and got the last room available. I was placed on the bottom floor right next to the breakfast area. It was a bit noisy but not the hotel's fault. Friendly staff and a decent price...HQ BBQ down the street could use some work […] . The room was quite large and looked nice. However, there were a few disappointments. For example, as inviting as the oversized spa tub looked, I could not get the jets to work. I also could not get the flame to come on the gas fireplace. The busy commercial corner location was quite noisy during the early morning hours making sleep very difficult.

"Best western Plus Santa Cruz- close to everything"
we stayed at the Best Western Plus in Santa Cruz and were pleasantly surprised to see that it was within walking distance to Downtown and all areas that were important in that vicinity. The rooms were comfortable and clean. the service was magnificent.

"Best Western in Santa Cruz"
Friendly staff. Offered and upgraded room to larger suite. Complimentary breakfast convenient and good. Gym does not open until 9am due to located next to a suite. Allowed access early (7ish) since the suite was not being used. Location is walking distance to shopping area. No problem getting access after midnight.

This was very comfortable, clean hotel for the money. Better than expected and in a good location.

Great location to downtown and the boardwalk. Plenty of nearby restaraunts. garage parking in lower level of hotel was very convenient. Full breakfast in the spacious lobby area. Guest room was spacious and comfortable.

"Best Western---better than most in price range"
I've stayed at the all suites best western twice now. It's a mid-range hotel with most of what you expect in the price range. They served a reasonable breakfast---which I'm too snobby to eat. The rooms are pretty big, especially for the price. I live in SF, so it's almost as big as my house. If you like the people, you could easily put two couples in […] this room without being crowded---provided one doesn't mind sleeping on the couch. The bed is much more comfortable than any other hotel in this price range that I've stayed at. I usually stay at the Sheraton, because I can count on their beds. It wasn't a Sheraton bed, but I didn't wake with aches and pains (and I normally would). The cable is pretty crappy--no pay per view options either. That's a big drawback. But it is close to the Boardwalk and downtown, so I guess you can just go out. I gave 3 stars on the service. This last stay it was totally fine---polite, respectable---but the first time I stayed we stood at the counter for several minutes waiting for the employees to stop talking to each other long enough to check us in. That, I think, is just ridiculous. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it---especially if you have a family. The pull-out couch would be perfect for kids. Just FYI: the pool is really small (as they seem to be at every hotel in Santa Cruz), but you can always go swim in the 50 degree ocean! In summary---good price, excellent value, pretty comfy bed. Front desk was friendly and polite. Rooms are small, even though a "suite". Bathrooms are TINY. Room was clean, and maintenance was very fast (stopped-up toilet). Walls are thin, so we could hear water running, vacumming, people talking, etc. making it a little difficult to sleep. Parking is horrible; insufficient number of spaces in the garage, and […] even with what's there, the spots are too narrow (or too many people park over the line so they can exit their cars?). "Great Value In Santa Cruz"
Hotel lobby music was loud at night. Breakfast was sub-par. But the hotel was clean, service was great, bed was super comfy, rooms were huge and location was ideal.

upon arrival. there was plenty of parking. once at the front desk. it seemed like there was only one person working in the entire place. and i was given my room immediately. but for some reason the key card didnt work. the agent on duty went above and beyond to assist me so it made up for the key card malfunction. overall. i had a good nights rest.

We were in town for a wedding so a group of us decided to stay at the same hotel. All of the other couples staying at the hotel had much nicer rooms than my husband and I. Our room was small, cold, the fridge didn't work and the trash came at 5:30 the first morning and it sounded like a train going through our room. "Comfortable Stay"
Clean and comfortable, friendly staff. We were lucky enough to get a room with brand new carpeting, although the room had a faint smell of smoke, even though it was a non-smoking room. Only a 10 min walk to restaurants and shopping.

"OKAY Place"
This was an okay place. Not great... not bad. There is no pool, just an oversized hot tub. The fitness room only had one treadmill, one elliptical, and one recumbanant bike... but when I went for my workout, there was no one there so it was not a problem for me. The parking garage was nice.... although there were lots of workers down there at night. […] The hotel was being renovated and our room smelled strongly of new carpet and the adhesive to hold it down... but I have smelled worse. "Way better than 2.5 stars"
I was surprised how big and nice the rooms were for 2.5 stars. I would rate this 3 stars. I had room 210, it's HUGE, has a couch and sitting area, fridge, microwave, big jetted tub. The only negatives were NO natural light (the window faces a dark wall about 2 feet away, no light and no view), and the internet did not work in my room. Too far from the […] hotspot I guess. My friends had room 328 which was even bigger, the internet worked fine and their window faced the pool and had plenty of light. So I recommend the hotel highly, just make sure you ask for an outer-facing window and check the wifi strength in your room. "Noise"
We could hear the people in the next room as if they were just around the corner instead of having a wall between us. Kids running back and forth over our head. Staff at front desk were young and we noticed someone leaning way over the counter to see the computer screen.

"Room smelled"
Good area, had restaurants within walking. Nice looking inside and out. Problem was that our room was in the back hall, which had no ventilation, and our room smelled, BAD. Not sure what the smell was as the room was pretty clean. The continental breakfast was ok, but the floor around the food was very sticky and the trash cans were overfull.

Staff was friendly and accommodating, room was clean, bed was comfy, extra blankets in the closet, nice tub in bathroom, bathroom a little small, but overall nice place for the price!
"Interesting experience"
The location was great but the room was not to my specs. I've stayed in many different hotels and I would have to set this one further down the scale. We were given a room, a nice looking and good size room, with a lamp that didn't work and a door frame that looked as though someone had kicked in the door. "Comfortable and Convenient"
Parking is very easy in their lot. Room was comfortable with two beds, hotel appeared to be recently renovated. Only complaint is that the air conditioner/fan in the room had one speed -- loud. Other then that I would recommend for driving access to the marina.

It is a full breakfast, not continental and it was very good. The hotel was clean and it is fairly close to everything. Our room, while clean, was in a corner bottom level location. The window faced a wall in an alleyway so there was absolutely no light in the room which gave it a closed in feel. We did not ask to switch rooms as my spouse was satisfied […] that it was in a quiet area of the hotel, which it was considering many of the other rooms had windows and doors that opened directly out into the atrium and breakfast area. "Do not stay here!"
This hotel is in a very questionable neighborhood. the doors are locked at 10 o'clock and to get in there is a smalll window that an attendant will come to. that is how bad the neighborhood is!! Wish we knew about that before we booked there. The rooms were old and looked like a keg party had just occured in there the night before.
