Cottage grandi ma poco curati. Spiaggia vicina ma poco frequentata. Grande giardino con molta vegetazione. Dintorni un po scarsi. Da non perdere la shrimp station (baracchina sulla strada pochi metri prima) con gamberi spettacolari da mangiare sulle poche panche sulla strada.

The two bedroom cottage was perfect. The bathroom was huge and the shower area was perfect. There was plenty of privacy and an assigned parking space. The landscaping was beautiful and to see the ocean from the cottage was perfect. I highly recommend the Waimea Plantation Cottages. I would stay there again if I return to Kauaii.

We had a very pleasant stay, found the staff very helpful, and loved the grounds and plantings. We couldn't imagine a more peaceful setting and will definitely return to a 2bedroom cottage. Having a porch and charcoal BBQ made us feel very at home.

The potential is unbelievable. But they just miss it. They advertise "Refurbished cottages." Ours needed paint and a lot of TLC. Part of the charm? Sure, I guess you can let it go at that. But they miss the obvious stuff that other reviewers have pointed out. Holes in the hammock, general maintenance issues, etc. For what they charge, the facility should […] be in better condition that it is and it's nearly false advertising for how they represent the property. All that to say, the grounds are spectacular just by virtue of being Kauai, and it is very private and secluded. NOT touristy which is very attractive. But these people need to really step up their game. It's inexcusable to me and if I owned the property, I'd be embarrassed about some of the amenities and how they portray them. We had such a fabulous time here. The cottages, while older in style, we're very comfortable and all had lovely views. The staff were lovely and always keen to help. Weimea town is great and away from all the tourist hotels. We can't wait to come back here.

I think the hotel management should do a better job of promoting the onsite restaurant - we enjoyed a great evening of Hawaiian music our last night but sort of accidentally found out a local band would be playing there. We really enjoyed our stay at the cottages. A short walk to downtown Waimaia and each cottage is private, not attached to any other. It is "in the country" as the locals say so if you are looking for something away from it all, this is the place. A 50 yard walk to the beach for sunsets. Fully equipped kitchen and BBQ. Visiting the Aston Waimea Plantation Cottages will be one of my most treasured experiences. If you are looking for the glam of the Hyatt this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing hotel with historical ties this is the place for you. The property is old, beautiful, and totally relaxing. This is not a place to stay if you want marble bathrooms, room service, and something "to do" every minute of your vacation .

it's fine. it's just fine. but there is no beach--and the water just off shore is dark and muddy. you can't do better in waimea, but you can do better elsewhere on the island!

Old Hawaiian feel to the place nice and relaxing. The Beach at the hotel is nice but it is to dangerous to swim. There are nice beaches a few minutes away though. Restaurant at the hotel was expensive and food was not that good

Quaint, but comfortable. Staying in Waimea is like stepping back to the 50's. Slow pace of life and enough distance from the other tourists staying on the South shore. Very relaxing!

What a treat to stay at the Cottages. The six of us were thrilled. Very homey and comfortabe. It would be great if the Grove Cafe was open in the morning for breakfast.

Our room was quite and peace full. We enjoyed the chickens. The pool was nice and we enjoyed the walks on the beach. I did not like being charged for internet connections when I told the women that I did not bring a laptop and I had no intentions of using the internet. This should be a option.

Your satisfaction with Waimea Plantation Cottages will depend on what you are expecting. If you are looking for a resort experience, this is not it. But if you want a relaxed environment and like the idea of having your own little cabin then this could be the place for you. The web pictures of the actual cottages are misleading. Few of them rise to […] that level of quality. In fact, there are some cottages that would disappoint anyone. The one bedroom cottages are sparce and very small. And they are old, which is sort of the point. The one bedroom that we stayed in initally was ok, but it had a serious ant problem. They moved us to a smaller cottage. It was pitiful, really. The staff was reluctant to help us, and they moved us to a larger cottage only after I became advisarial. But it was quite nice. If you can afford the 2 or 3 bedroom cottages then it is more likely that you will be satisfied. The grounds are beautiful. The ocean is right next to the pool. It never seemed crowded while we were there. Waimea is a very quite, small town with very little shopping, so again, you need to be interested in a less tourist type experience. The restaurant is pretty good, though as brewery owners we were disappointed to learn that the brewery is no longer there (new one coming soon in nearby Hanapepe). We went on a sea trip and helicopter ride; both were great fun. Want luxury and a lot to do? Stay someplace else. Want to relax in an old house, this could be it. Continua a leggere

Very relaxing atmosphere, great for catching up on some reading on the porch. We loved having the stand-alone cottage to ourselves and getting away from the crowds. It was a stark contrast with the Grand Hyatt (where we dined one night) which is teeming with people and where so much is packed into smaller spaces. We had a one-bedroom cottage which was […] very roomy. Each time we interacted with the staff we were impressed by how willingly they wanted to go the extra mile to ensure our comfort. This was ideally located to go into the Waimea canyon, you can get up early and totally beat the crowds coming from other parts of the island. Just know what you're getting into and you'll enjoy it. The pool isn't fancy and is a bit on the cool side, the food options in Waimea aren't top-notch (but you'd probably pick this place planning to prepare most of your own food), and the beach is limited (though there are other good beaches not too far away). it felt like being in the old Hawaii. The kitchen had everything we needed. The WiFi was perfect. It was simple and beautiful. Too many roosters. Keeping the chickens off the tables at the cafe would be extremely advisable. We missed the brewery.....and no t shirts...so sad!!!!

The cottages at the Aston Waimea Plantation were amazing. We had a house to ourselves and had a full kitchen, 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. It was an older cottage, but abaolutely beautiful. My husband and I enjoyed our stay tremendously. Everything was just perfect here. The beach was not very nice, as all the drift wood came to shore, so we did not use […] the beach, but the pool instead. A couple miles down the street, was an amazing sand beach however. If you are looking for a luxurious, 5 stars, pampered retreat then you should not stay here. However, if you are looking for a beautifully manicured estate with quaint, private cottages, right on the ocean, on a tropical island then this would be a place to consider. The property is located on the west side of Kauai in the small town of Waimea. This […] makes visiting such sights as Polihale Beach, Waimea Canyon and many of the Na Pali Coast hikes close and convenient. The cottages have been updated with modern furnishings and comforts: fully equipped kitchens: TV w/DVD’s, wireless internet, grills, lawn furniture, etc. The plantation also has a small gift shop and The Grove Café, which is not a bad place to eat. But the real magic of this place is the setting. The plantation grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The cottages are fairly well spaced apart, providing for decent privacy. The beach next to the property is a mix of brown and black sand, which gives the waves a dirty appearance, but the beach is great for walking, sunbathing or fires at night. The waves can be large and unpredictable, so swimming here is not recommended. However, there is a pool on the property next to the ocean with a small wading pond for keikes. My husband and I were impressed by the cottages two years ago, when we drove down from Kapaa. So, this year, even though it was a bit more than we wanted to pay, I booked us here for two nights. It would allow a leisurely visit to this part of Kauai istead of making it a day trip from our usual stay in Kapaa. A few reviews I had read mentioned 'bugs'. […] I also called WPC and mentioned that I was worried about bugs; they said that some of their cottages had been renovated and that they hadn't had many complaints about bugs. I booked hoping that we wouldn;t have the problem. We checked in late at night, We were expected and were given keys to the 'Bullshed' cottage and were told that it was newly renovated. I was encouraged. We first had a hard time with the key and locking system and many insectes were waiting to get in through the screen doors so we entered quickly. Unfortunately, we found a cockroach on a bedroom wall, one of many I would find during our two day stay; we only saw them at night. There was also a flea that was under the covers. I swated it off. We managed to sleep okay until 2 am (my son said 5 am) when the roosters started crowing. The grounds were beautifully manicured but I wish that they reworked the screens and gaps between the sliding doors. The next day was fine as we spent time in the nice pool and the town. We read books on the nice wrap around porch. The next evening, more bugs. It's such a shame; we loved the place otherwise. Continua a leggere

The Waimea Plantation Cottages were wonderful. We wanted a nice quiet vacation and this is the perfect place for that. The cottages are separated enough so you have your privacy, can enjoy the deck, the beach or just walk around the property under wonderful banyan trees. The birds, chickens and geckos are everywhere. Great place to stay if you REALLY want to get away from it all. Far away from most things on the island. It takes 45 min. to drive half way around the island (signals and 25 mph zones), so forget about seeing the East Shore unless you get an early start and take the day. The beach is horrible, the pool is nothing but a hole in the ground, and wi-fi […] access is only at the main house. The grounds are beautiful, the cottage was nice and comfortable, the people were friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was a disappointment. Also the grounds were not well maintained. I slipped on a mango (which were all over the drive and walkways), I was not hurt, but walking on the grounds in the dark was a major hazard. ワイメアキャニオンへの足がかりとして滞在しました。前回お天気が悪くて全く景色が見られなかったので、近くで天気の良い時に行くため一番近いところにしました。２人ではバケーションレンタルの家は高くて泊まれませんが、ここはホテルの金額で別荘一軒借りられるのでとても広くて静かでよかったです。広いラナイや専用のバーベキューコンロなども用意してあって、ガーデンビューで申し込みましたがラナイから海が見えて素敵な場所でした。駐車代もwi-fi代もタダでよかったのですが、駐車場所が大きなアカシアの木の下で、レンタカーが鳥のフンだらけになりました。近くの客が夜までBBQをしていて声が聞こえたこともありましたが、それ以外はとても静かで（ニワトリもあまり近くでは鳴かず）よいところでした。次回行くことがあればまた利用し […] たいと思います。 Continua a leggere

まるで、鶏小屋に泊まったようで最悪な夜でした。建物の古さはある程度覚悟していましたが、外見もかわいそうなくらい・・・・夜中、スプリンクラーの大きな音と、ニワトリのコケッココーにびっくり。早朝4時からニワトリの大合唱・・・・2ベッド以上のコテージはもっと静かな場所に有るようで、多分、遠くでニワトリの鳴き声を聞くくらいだと思います。外観も全然ちがうので、部屋の中も、かなりましなのでしょう。ワイメアをゆっくり散策する為に、1泊したので、最悪寝れなくても良いと覚悟して予約しました。結果もう利用することはないでしょう。有る意味貴重な体験でした。自然に囲まれた環境はとても素晴らしいので、写真を撮りまくりました。
