Hotel Avenue Amsterdam

Ottimo per la posizione vicino la stazione. Si raggiungono le principali zone di attrazioni turistiche, chiese e musei a piedi oppure con poche fermate di tram, la fermata è proprio davanti l'hotel. Le camere sono 'storte' ma forse perchè l'hotel è stato adibito in una tipica palazzina della città cioè storta, il pavimento è in pendenza...e le pareti […] anche.... Abbiamo prenotato una camera matrimoniale e ci hanno dato una mansardina all'ultimo piano con 4 letti e un salottino al centro, con le travi a vista, spazionsa e davvero molto carina. Pulita ma con alcuni asciugamani un po sporchi e non morbidi. Alla reception la mattina della partenza volevano rifilarci un taxi per l'aeroporto comunicandoci che avevano interrotto le linee dei treni per manutenzione.... non era vero e siamo arrivati in aeroporto con il trenino! quindi occhio!!! la colazione un po misera ma essenziale per partire alla conquista della città. L'hotel si trova in una posizione perfetta per vivere la città anche a piedi. Pulizia e servizi sono perfetti. La colazione è ricca e abbondante. Unico neo: la grandezza delle camere. Eravamo 2 coppie con 2 camere doppie separate ed entrambe erano piccole. Molto dipende dalla lunghezza del soggiorno... diciamo che per un weekend la grandezza delle […] camere è relativa, se siete in viaggio con bagaglio a mano, la cosa è superabile, ma con valigie più grande... questo limite può rappresentare un problema. Tutto molto bello, restauri recenti, solo la moquette lascia un po' a desiderare (come spesso accade in tutto il Nord del resto). Ottima colazione, WiFi in camera, personale gentile. Posizione comodissima, 3minuti a piedi dalla stazione, altrettanti dal centro.

Would call this an "adequate" place to stay. Caters to tourist trade. You are wary when you see sign offering room upgrade for more euros at check-in - right off, think that attractive room price saw on web isn't such a bargain. And found it to be so - one person room quiet, but cramped quarters, industrial grade floor carpet, not even a box of Kleenex, […] and only hotel room I used that had not been upgraded to flat screen TV yet. TV remote didn't work and told probably bad battery and I was told no one to come to my room, so told to bring it down to front desk for new one. It took four of staff, subsitute of different remote and 45 minutes to get a working one. Standard breakfast offerings. At a lower price, I would have thought this was a good pension, but at the charged hotel level price, pretty underwhelmed by the faciltiy. Continua a leggere

The hotel is great value with breakfast and internet included in the price. Breakfast is good, and internet speed adequately maintains a Skype video call. Very convenient location, within 5 mins walk of the main railway station. The main road has trams which means there is some noise, which is the case regardless of the hotel on that street. A few rooms […] do face away from the street, so if noise bothers, you could try requesting at booking, but I think you'd be better booking a hotel further away from the city center if noise is a concern. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant. The buffet breakfast was excellent in both range and quality. Always plenty of hot water and the hotel itself was always warm. Free internet access was a welcome and appreciated bonus. Generous check out time - noon - and free storage for luggage was not a problem.

Hotel is very central...and that's its best feature. Room was functional, but without any up to date comfort. Bed and tv '80's style and room was small with 1 little window looking out on a wall. But if you need a cheap central location this is a decent place.

Room walls are like paper; you hear everything outside. Coffee is not free anymore. Everything costs. It's a 2 star hotel, not 3 star.

Small rooms and tram noises. BUT, still a nice, convenient and friendly hotel; great value with breakfast included. One can walk everywhere and lots of good restaurants near by. Would stay again

Had to pay 5 Euros extra when I arrived which I wasn't told about by Hotels.com. Cleaners arrived late afternoon each day by which time I was back at my hotel which wasn't ideal. Other than that I thought this was a really good hotel, very polite staff including cleaners. Great location for sightspotting. Good restaurants and pubs and bars nearby.

It has an excellent location BUT the room smell smoking, the radiator (hot air) doesnt work well. I asked the administration everyday to solve the problem but they doesnt solve it! The wifi conection in the rooms is really bad, it drops every minute. Really dont reccomend this hotel. In my next visit to AMS, will go to another place.

the hotel is in a great location. very close to the main train station ( That worked out great for us if you have a early flight you can just walk) The breakfast was good. However I would only stay here if you spend no more then two nights. For the weekend its ok but not more then 2 days. The bathroom shower setup was not great. You turn the shower […] on and water goes everywhere. The shower and floor are one part with nothing with keeping water spraying all over the place. The rooms dont have enought light in them so it was hard to read maps so I had to go into the bathroom for that. The staff was very nice. As far as buying sodas(coke) chips or drinks dont buy them from the vending machine at the hotel go next door to the gift shop they have everything in there and much cheaper. Have stayed here several times in the past. Continues to be an excellent value/cost property. Close to the Centraal Station, clean rooms, great breakfast buffet and free wifi.

on arival on 24th january we booked in and got room 98 ground floor aprox 70 yards from the reception got there 21.00 put cases in room and went out to get some food. when we returned we went straight to bed tired from the day traveling hopeing or a good rest ready for the next day... OMG AS SOON AS WE LAID DOWN WE COULD HEAR THE BATHROOM TOILET FAN […] RUNNING WE WENT AND COMPLAINED SAYING WE CANT GET TO SLEEP FOR IT THE GUY AT RECEPTION SAID THAT THERE KNOW ABOUTE THE FAN BUT CANT TURN IT OFF OTHER WISE THE ROOM WILL SMELL WE TRYED AGAIN TO SLEEP IMPOSIBLE SO COMPLAINED AGAIN AT RECEPTION AND GOT IN TO A ARGUMENT WITH THE GUY AT RECEPTION HIS REPLY WAS !!SHUT UP OR ILL CALL POLICE...THAT NIGHT WE GOT APROX 1 HOURS SLEEP SOON AS DAY STAFF CAME ON WE DEMANDED A ROOM CHANGE AND WERE PUT IN ROOM 401.. ROOM 401 was very quiete and we hit the bed and slept till 14.00 after no sleep at all in room 98 so 1 day wasteed off our 3 day break... room 401 small carpets stained thread bare but yes nice and quiete . this hotel is non smokeing which we thought great till u look out your window and see peole at there windows nealy hanging out haveing a smoke. room 401 acualy stunk off urine think some one had wee on the floor. breakfast was so poor we only had it one time out off the 3 day break.. all in all guys please dont book this hotel we are regular travelers and this is probs the worst hotel we have ever stayed in and over the last 3 years we have had 10 vacations and this is the only time i have had to do a bad review... ideal location for a trip to central amsterdam, only 3 min walk from the station but the hotel itself does need a refurb, especially the rooms tired and dated rooms, shower bits falling off, old small TV, lumpy bed etc. but was cheap so, not the end of the world

Great Hotel, when I'll come back to Amsterdam I will surely choose this hotel again. Great location, rooms comfortable and clean!

We had a quadruple room, which consisted of a double bed in the main part of the room, and two singles in the loft, accessible via a ladder. The kids loved having their own space, and we loved them having their own space too! Breakfast was very good - lots of choice

OK hotel if you want to live rather cheap. Way to depressing if you are a business traveler, the single room felt like a prison cell, the standard was pretty low and the bed had a funny angle (it felt like your feet was higher than your head).

We stayed recently and arrived in the morning (overnight flight) and took train to central station. Hotel is 7 minute walk with luggage away. Had a locked room for all luggage to be held if you were arriving early or checking out early but not leaving city yet. When we returned to check in in afternoon, the initial room stank to high heaven of marajuana […] smoke!!! And the Hotel is a posted 100% smoke free hotel!!! I request a room change and was given one that smelled 1/10 as much of weed as the first. We were so tired, we stayed. The bathroom door did not shut at all, the bath soap ran out, and the beds were waaaaaay too soft and after a full day of walking, left us with a back ache the next day. And every morning at about 2-3 am, on of the other guests on the floor started smoking weed and it permeated the hallway and got into the room (no seals around the door). The included breakfast each morning was nice and convenient to start and plan the day. The price of the hotel is reasonable, the rooms are very small (like a college dorm), but the location is excellent to central Amsterdam, tram lines, train station, restaurants, red light district, etc... Stayed here several times, close to Centraal train station and Dam Square. Quirky room layout but excellent staff, bright and clean with a very good breakfast buffet.

Stayed two nights at this property. Picked it for its location and overall value. The hotel is very centrally located and good value for Amsterdam which can tend to be an expensive location depending on what other events are in the area. Hotel itself is very basic - my room was tiny, and furnishings were more 2 star than 3. Breakfast room is also cramped […] and basic. If you like comfort in your hotel this is not one you should consider - however if budget and location are high priorities then give it a try. Continua a leggere

Good, you get what you pay for. Worth the money

A well located 3 star hotel just a 10 minute walk from Central Station. Hotel rooms are small but adequate and staff were obliging. Although booked months in advance we were first allocated a very small dark room at rear on ground floor but fortunately were able to change to a brighter room on the 5th floor. Hotel was only 5 minute walk from Central Station, so a great location. Quick Check in. Room small but that was ok, though no mirror in the room apart from the bathroom. For a 3* hotel they should have a better T.V. but overall it was worth the money.

We were concerned about this hotel and were pleasantly surprised with what we got. The Avenue Hotel was comfortable, the staff friendly, and the breakfast was completely fantastic. We were only here due to an extra long layover; we found the hotel to be very clean, comfortable and incredibly easy to find. Our room was clean, wonderfully appointed--desite small size of typical downtown hotel rooms in this one there were convenient spots to put everything making it feel bigger, very comfortable bed, the ensuite bath sparkled. We requested a quiet room, and were given a room facing into an interior courtyard (though only a first floor roof below) and it […] was perfectly quiet with the windows closed (no street noise could get in, neighbors all quiet too) but mechanical noise kept us from leaving the windows open. The room was filled with natural light; very pleasant. Good fresh air ventilation through the a/c-heat unit. It is so close to the central train station, we actually walked past the street thinking we must need to walk further. And the train is literally downstairs in the a/p so very very easy to take all public transit. Hotel is half block from a really nice pedestrian shopping district, and great restaurants within 5-10 minute walk. Small room and terribly expensive. Poor shower design that sent water all over the bathroom floor, and on the toilet. Hot breakfast was disappointing.

it is situated in a very good location, clean bed, clean bathroom and helpful reception staff. We took the breakfast package as well but never got up in time for it.. would reccomend not to take breakfast package if your there to see the night life and also because there are lots of great eateries close by..

I have stayed at the Avenue Hotel several times now and I always enjoy it. The hotel is close to the Centraal Station and Dam Square. The staff is cordial and efficient and the breakfast buffet is excellent. The WiFi throughtout the hotel can't be beat. Overall, the place to stay for quality for money.

The carpet in the room had dark stains all over it which gave the whole room a grubby feel. Bathroom was clean however and the complimentary breakfast was very good for a European hotel. The location of the hotel was perfect being about 500 yards from central station. It made transferring to the airport by train very easy.

An excellent, quirky hotel with very good and friendly service. I have stayed in this hotel a couple of times because it is close to the train station but slightly off the beaten path, has an excellent breakfast, and the rooms are modern (but small as might be expected). Always busy but never a problem, can't go wrong here.

This hotel could be better placed for central stations and to explore Amsterdam. I couldn't believe how easy it was to transfer into the city from the airport by train and how cheap it was! Almost all the sights are within easy walking distance from the hotel but the street its on is very quiet. The staff were all really friendly and helpful and the […] breakfast is brilliant. We checked in with another couple. Rooms very small. they upgraded both of us at no charge so the fellow at the desk gets points for that. Bathroom fine, newly updated, rest of the room from the 60s. small TV.. could hardly see it and the room is small! 3 minute walk to the station but the area's not so good ..but then much of Amsterdam is worse. The […] bathroom door didn't close tight and given that the bed was 18 inchest away, not too pleasant. The floor must be cement. with a very strong carpet. Breakfast OK and the staff pleasant. We arrived to the hotel and found trash stacked up around the hotel and it was actually hard to get out of the cab for the trash that littered the area. Our hotel had stains on the carpet, chairs, duvet cover and sheets. We asked for a nonsmoking hotel room yet the floor reeked of smoke and pot smoke. The shower was like a cruise ship shower and the […] entire bathroom flooded everytime we took a shower. The drain was quite slow too. We had to walk around a pile of garbage taller than our cab just to get to the door. Our room was lovely if you could get past the sewer smell coming from the bathroom. We told the front desk about it but doubt anything was done since it persisted. The drain in the shower was so slow that it flooded the bathroom floor with every use. After a rocky start; the hotel couldn't find our confirmed reservations and the clerk was not very friendly; we enjoyed our stay. The buffet breakfast was fantastic! Rooms as promised, very nice, very clean and A/C! We only booked 1 night through Hotels.com, but needed to stay 2 nights. The second night was double! The Avenue Hotel is close to everything that you require. It is only 5 minutes from Central Station, The Red Light Dstrict, The Damrak and all of my favourite Bars and Cafes, including "The Lndon Bridge" and "Cafe Van Beeren". My Room, although on the small side, suited all of my needs and was very quiet, as it was at the back of the Hotel.

Hotel is easy 5 min walk from central station and 10-15 min from Anne Frank House. Rooms small but clean ,quiet and with secure access (Need key card to operate elevator to room). Free wi-fi in rooms and full English breakfast was generous. Front desk even printed out our tickets to museums. Would definitely stay again.
