Ho trascorso una notte presso l'Avalon Grand di Cancun ed ha corrisposto perfettamente alle mie esigenze. Pulito, moderno in buona posizione, nella zona hotelera proprio sulla spiaggia. La spiaggia è molto bella, ben curata ed attrezzata con lettini ed ombrelloni inclusi nel pernottamento. Non ho usufruito della colazione ne di altri pasti quindi non posso lasciare alcun commento in merito. L'hotel può essere preso in considerazione anche per sogiorni più lunghi

"Beautiful hotel!"
If you're looking for a relaxing, beautiful hotel this is definitely the place to stay. The hotel is decorated beautifully, the rooms are nice, and the food is great (just make sure you make reservations early). We didn't get a chance to go in the water because the surf was really rough, but the beach is really nice, they could use more seating areas […] though. The staff is very helpful, nice, and professional. They also have nightly shows, which are pretty cool! Only drawback is.. the hotel is huge, so if you stay outside of the main building it is a little walk to get to the main lobby (for anyone who has disabilities). "good place for famiies"
The hotel was beautiful and our room was also very nice. Not enough chairs on the beach, and the kids club never seemed to participate in the activiites designed for kids. Food is ok, but not anything you can't wait to get to. When I went to check out, they were claiming that I had charged $83 in purchases to my room, which was false. "Needs room updates"
Stayed 2 nights after our flight was cancelled and our original hotel was completely booked. The lobby and common areas were amazing, but the level of beauty did not transcend to the rooms. The outside areas, beach, and pool were also amazing. Our room was disappointing. There are 5 pyramids making up the hotel and our room was in the newest, pyramid […] 5. If I wasn't told that I would have thought it was the oldest one. Rooms were very outdated and not as clean as should be. The only bonus was an exterior hot tub on the balcony, which was amazing at night. Be advised this feature is only in pyramid 5. The minibar is included in the all inclusive but only restocked once a day. You can not get alcohol via room service and the food menu for room service is limited. The walk from pyramid 5 to main area where food is located is far. The shower head trickled out and the shower is narrow. The breakfast and lunch buffet were fair-good quality, but there were lots of options and a healthy options section too. They had smoothies for breakfast. Dinner was disappointing both nights. "Good, but not great"
The hotel itself is nice, a lot of effort has gone in the refurbishment of the main lobby, restaurants and other common areas. It has a great ambiance and all the staff have been very nice to us. The rooms were spacious and clean, but the furniture was rather old, and the rooms in general are not as up to date as the primary parts of the hotel. AC units […] make a lot of noise in some rooms, not so much in others (I know because on check in our booked room type was not available, so we spent the first night in a different room). The food in the restaurants is ok, I would not recommend any couple the all inclusive deal though, we were really tired of it after 3 days, too much of the food is similiar in how it is prepared. All in all we had a nice time in the hotel, but for the money we spent, we have had a better overall experience in other places. So, if a good deal (not all inclusive) for this hotel is available, for sure go for it, but if you are after a real 4,5 star hotel experience, look for a different hotel. "Best Birthday gift I give my wife every year"
This was the third year we went to Cancun. Last two years the resort was Gran Melia.The resort made some major improvements with the way they even out the people with the new restaurants. "Not one of the better Cancun properties"
A lot more interest in luring guests to timeshare presentations than making stay enjoyable. $200 resort credit turned out to be coupons for a few dollars off a huge variety of services that few guests would use. Hot water in bathroom was hit and miss (mostly miss). This hotel was probably very nice 10-20 years ago but is in need of a major closure and […] overhaul/renovation to bring it up to 4 star status (and a huge job to bring it to 5 star). "Great for couples!"
Although this is a family friendly resort, I was very impressed at how well they catered to couples. I enjoyed every single restaurant and bar. I am not super picky about my food and enjoy trying new things. I can honestly say the variety of dishes was nice. The entertainment was pretty good, included lots of cool stunts. The one thing to keep in mind […] if you are a light sleeper is that the music from the nightclub is very loud until 2am. "Our 10 day stay met our expectations."
Wonderfully constructed facility with superb view and conveniently located. Food and beverage quality and service excellent. Had trouble adjusting A/C to comfortable level. Front desk check-in, information, and check-out processes were very slow although the personnel were courteous and tried their best to be helpful. Safety deposit box didn't work […] when we checked in and we were without running water in our room until 7:45 AM one day. Food room service was excellent. "Lovely resort & good value for the money"
This was our 2nd stay in 2 years. Did not like some of the Paradisus' improvements. More restaurants but the food was not as good as before. Missed the old TEMPO restaurant. Now it only has a 7 course tasing menu for a $45 per person charge. Hope they change to ala carte menu. Missed the huge lobster tails we used to order there for add'l charge. Really […] missed the La Palapa restaurant for lunch. Now it's just for the Vacation Club members & was closed when we were there. New Taco restaurant was terrific & authentic. Entertainment was so so. The guy & girl who sang in Bana restaurant on Fri. nite were wonderful. The new shower systems are awful. You can't fill the tub with water from the faucet, so you can never take even a sponge bath. There's a round showerhead directly above in the ceiling and then you have a hand sprayer to spray your body. We didn't have any hot water the first 4 days and after that it was intermittent. They said it affected the whole hotel and that they were working on it. If you had small children it would be difficult to bathe them. Having said that, the staff and employees are wonderful, they go out of their way to help you & always with a smile. The lobby and lobby bar are gorgeous and the beach & pools are lovely. The rooms are kept very clean as is the well equipped work out room. Didn't use the spa, but it looked inviting. I'm sure Paradisus will work out any problems with time. We read a lot of reviews, some of which had us worried. It turned out that all worries were unnecessary. Check in and check outs were fast. Food was very good to great. The hotel definitely caters to families -- there were lots of folks with younger kids there, so if you prefer a more adult experience without screaming children, you might want to stay elsewhere. Overall, the hotel was clean and comfortable, but there seemed to be a lot of confusion among staff about amenities provided (such as which restaurants were […] open on a given day and what they served -- this might have been due to the change over from Gran Melia to Paradisus, but I am not sure. Service around the pools and beach was pretty good and the smaller palapas were free, but the larger cabanna style areas were only available at a higher fee. A lot of the activities that are included (such as windsurfing, kayaking, etc) are only available as specific times so in order to take advantage of them, you have to schedule around the hotel, rather than having it adjust to your needs. The hotel was beautiful, however the check in process takes entirely way too long. We travelled with others and were all over the hotel. Someone was already checked into a room that one of our friends were given so we had to go back and start all over again. The service started off great and then went downhill after that. We had a relaxing stay. The hotel is in the hotel zone, with the bus route to town right in front. It is right on the beach, with a great pool, and had plenty of activities on site, as well as people to help plan excursions if you want to do that. "DON'T GO"
This is by far one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. To start, we had to wait 20 minutes in line to check in, then told we had to wait three hours for our room, then had to have our room switched three times. The third room wasn't that much better than the first two, but we were just tired and not caring at that point. One side of the room was lined […] with 4 random tables that had no real purpose and a couch that was positioned in a way that you could only sit on half of it - it was as if our room was a storage room for leftover furniture. The bathroom flooded during showers and baths. The entire decor of the room looked (and smelled) like it was from 1985. Then there is the food ... I actually think this is the first time I lost weight on vacation. Literally inedible. And that's if you can even GET into a restaurant to eat. We made reservations on several occasions (this is requirement for all but one restaurant for dinner) and each time they didn't have our reservation - even though we had confirmation codes, and were turned away without even an attempt to be accommodated. And here is the thing - cleanliness, decor, even bad food I can live with ... but the service was horrid. Everyone is extremely rude and unaccomodating - i.e. if I can't check into my room for 3 hours, say you are sorry and you'll do everything you can to expedite the process (with a smile) and I am happy - even if I can't check in for 3 hours. I got the resort coupon and some of them was not applicable for family, but I was stayed with my wife and kids. We did not receive towel card, which should be given by hotel staff and was necessary for getting towel in the pool, at the chacking in. Our family of 13 stayed at Gran Melia for 6 days. We had an incredible experience. The people were pleasant and always wanting to please us. They greeted us with big smiles. The rooms were clean, the food was fabulous and the view was incredible. The only complained that we had was the availability of chairs on the beach and around the pool. "Felicitous Experience for All Ages"
This was the most delightful hotel/resort experience I've had and I've been to some elegant resorts. All the staff were friendly, helpful, pleasant and seemed to be happy in their work. They all went out of their way to make our stay as happily memorable as possible. The pyramidal architecture was enhanced by the lovely gardens, fountain and living […] curtain of philodendron vines. The beach was clean and the turquoise water was gorgeous, although the surf was too rough for swimming. A pool was provided for safe swimming. Our room and deck gave a good view of the ocean across the street. Food at the daily buffet was abundantly varied and delicious. We did not try the other restaurants in the hotel since we liked the choices at the buffet and the bright interior with the ocean view. Both my roommate/ travel companion and I would love to return someday. She does not have a computer so I am writing for both of us. Two from Prescott and Flagstaff, Arizona. "Great Resort!"
I stayed at this hotel over Christmas with my boyfriend. There is no loud construction like the other reviews have said, so don't worry. I think we came at a time when the hotel was not crowded at all so it was great. The rooms had a safe where we could lock away our tablets and passports. Guest service was great about answering our questions - but […] we did exchange $90 in USD into pesos and they charged us $12 for it. The buffet restaurant (Naos) was not the greatest. We ended up finding things we liked (fruit, cereal, bread), but overall it was all pretty bad. The only restaurant we did eat at inside the hotel was Blue Agave which was great! Get the Alambre! We did the all-inclusive so all of the food and drinks were free. We were by the pool in the afternoon and they serve nachos and hot dogs and hamburgers outside. The pool and the beach are both amazing - no complaints there. Some of the other reviews have talked about loud music, and we did get some of this. In the main pyramid they put on shows from 7pm - 8pm and the music is super loud, but I mean...I doubt many people are trying to sleep that early - we didn't mind it. Everyone in the staff was super friendly when we had questions. Make sure you get an ocean view room - we got a lagoon view and it is really just a view of the front yard area of the hotel which was not as exciting. Overall we had a great experience here. We had lots of problem with food. Since we don't eat meat. We didn't have much of a verity. We make request only to get turned down. Also, not enough trademill and other equipments for 750 room property. Also, lot of noise do to some sort of renovation going on above our room and outside. "Great beach & buffet"
Hotel: The beach and facilities were great. The room is not huge, but it was ok. The bed was meh- they could upgrade their beds, but it wasn't terrible. The buffet is great, and it's open almost all day (6am-11pm) with 1 hour gaps between meals. The food at the buffet is great (delicious and healthy). They had 4 restaurants where you need a reservation. […] The reservation system works part time. The food at the restaurants are ok, but buffet is probably at the same level of quality, so why wait for service when you can grab your plate and pick whatever you want. People: They are great. Everyone will try to sell you timeshares. "Hey we have free tickets to the dolphin show" "We can give you discounted tours - just come to our welcome breakfast tomorrow" Don't fall for it. You'll spend some of your valuable vacation time with a presentation, and if you fall for it, you might regret it. Special note to "tours": We wanted to see the Mayan ruins, and we decided to rent a car. When you go with a tour bus, you stop at multiple hotels and some souvenir shops (from what I read elsewhere). Also with a baby we wanted to be flexible. We went to Chichen Itza as early as possible, and toured at our discretion. My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in early November. e enjoyed ur stay. Get an ocean view if you can afford it, great views from the balcony! Very nice barhroom, shower and tub. They are remodeling the lobby area and it will be real nice when done.The beach was nice but the water rough. You can take the city bus to the downtown beaches behind Coco […] Bongo where the water is nicer. The minuses: The place is becoming all-inclusive. They tried to sell us a meal plan for $75.00 per day, save your money and go out to eat someplace else. Drinks at the pool are expensive, go to the OXO store and get your own booze. Everything was perfect, the only problem was that we stayed at the hotel while it was being renovated. Beautiful hotel. The service was superb, the staff treated us like royalty. We were weary of the "all included" bit at the beginning, but everything was really included. We were there 5 days and did not spent one extra dollar! The only complaint was that there was some construction in progress at the time, but it should be finished in a few days (it […] will be even more gorgeous when done. The hot water in the shower could have been hoter but that is knit picking. The food was great, and the beach, the ocean, and vistas were something else. Pros : 1. The staff is very friendly. The people are nice...infact very very nice ! 2. The view from the ocean view is amazing. Try and get an ocean room with a jacuzzi. avoid the lagoon view, very boring view. Cons : The food is ok. The have a few restaurants but the only one available for lunch for the all inclusive package is the one that has a […] buffet. The pool is not heated. It can get pretty cold.
