Hotel Excelsior Dubrovnik

We've stayed at some excellent hotels over the years thanks to the customer reviews from Hotels.com but this has got to be one of the best. Others have commented on the fact that the Excelsior is only 5-10 minutes from the city walls but it's also worth noting that it's at the quieter side of the city so no crowds by the city gate as you make your way […] in. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful at all times. It is unusual these days for breakfast to be included in the room rate but (as long as you stick with the very reasonable continental breakfast) it is here. We were glad we had paid the extra for a room with a sea view but if there isn't one available it's very pleasant to sit under a parasol on the terrace with a long drink looking over the bay to the Old Town. It was the start of the season and the hotel was fairly quiet - we were the only ones in the very large indoor pool on the two occasions that we went for a swim. It may well become a lot busier in the summer months. We'll definitely be back at the start or end of the season next year. Continua a leggere

Excellent experience. Room with a balcony overlooking the ocean was lovely. We walked to the old city every day asit was so close so we could enjoy the amenities.THe hotel staff were friendy and the dining room for breakfast staff were excellent and friendly even though they were so busy with a weding party .Highly recommend this hotal

We reserved a sea view with balcony after reading one of your reviews and this proved to be an excellent choice. Even when it rained it was lovely to look out on the sea. We would have liked to have tea/coffe making facilities in the room. We learnt after 2 days that they were available on request but it would be more convenient to have it already in […] the room. Excellent Hotel 5min walk from Old Town. We booked a room with a balcony- worth it for the views. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful.

Great hotel and lovely staff. Definitely recommend it to others but request a sea view otherwise looking out onto house and have to keep the curtains closed. I did not realise you had to pay more for a sea view otherwise I would have. That was the only disappointing factor. Otherwise it was all perfect.

We stayed at the hotel for a long weekend at the end of February. The staff were extremely helpful and did us a lot of favours--moving the room, assisting with car hire etc. The hotel is very comfortable with a wonderful pool, sauna, health spa. Only the gym is disappointing. Good location for the Old Town and the breakfast was good, if not exceptional. […] We had dinner there, which scored a 7/10 and was pretty pricey--but then all the "up-market" restaurants seem to be. Really pleased I booked this hotel, the staff were polite and made me feel very welcome. The location is really convenient - the historic old town is just a 5-10 minute walk away. The hotel lived up to its 5 star billing, with the fine dining restaurant and spa / pool being particular highlights. This hotel basically had everything you would ever want for the perfect stay in Dubrovnik. We opted for the superior sea view, and I do not regret it ONE BIT. It offers one of the best views of the old city, and looks out to the ocean. It is absolutely breathtaking. As for the hotel room itself, all amenities were great...shower, tub, 2 sinks, slippers […] (but no robes), and large roomy closets. The only complaint I have the room, really, is that the "king" bed is made up of two twin beds pushed together, which made it really uncomfortable...and we were probably better off with a queen/double bed. However, the bed is my only complaint of the room. The hotel itself is amazing. Breakfast was fulfilling, with a simply amazing view of the ocean. The staff is courteous, respectful, and knowledgable. We needed a restaurant recommendation, and he pointed us to one of the best restaurants I have been to. The hotel is also a very short walk to the Old City, maybe 10 minutes, or less...it's about 400 meters away, all along the coast. Absolutely perfect. The only catch is that it costs about 240 croatian currencies to get from the airport... Will definitely stay here again when we return. We were debating between the Hilton and Exelsior, and after seeing the location of the Hilton (view of the Old City, right next to it), we absolutely made the right choice. Continua a leggere

It is ideally located just a short walking distance (<5mins) from the old city. The staff were very nice throughout our stay and helped make our stay more enjoyable. The room was a good size and very clean. The quality of food was very good in the restaurant and for breakfast. If you are looking for a top notch place to stay in Dubrovnik then the Excelsior is the place. We were looking for a little bit of luxury in a convenient location to the old city and we couldn't have chosen better. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the city and commands a magnificent view. We asked for a west facing view over the city and to enjoy the […] sunsets and were allocated the room we asked for. Breakfasts were superb with a choice of cooked to order items if required, and a glass of cava if you wanted to start your mornings with a zip! There were lots of places within the hotel to relax and a wonderful terrace overlooking the sea to catch the last of the days sunshine and perhaps a coffee or beer after a day of sightseeing. We had a 4 day break and this was perfect to enjoy the delights of the city. We rented a car for the time we were there which was in fact less expensive than a taxi to and from the airport which is about 10 miles from the hotel. This also allowed us the take some spectacular drives up and down the coast. All in all a wonderful 4 days! Continua a leggere

Lots of places claim to be within walking distance of a major site. This place really is within 5 minutes of old town. On top of being close, its very clean, nice staff, amazing service.

Probably the best hotel in the neighborhoud : magnificient view on the old town of Dubrovnik, wonderfull spa and terrace. Splendid breakfast.

We are a family of 4 (2 teenagers) who travel at least twice a year. We usually stay at 4 or 5* hotels/resorts. In our opinion this is one of the best we ever stayed at. The location, quality of service, room comfort and cleanenss were owesome.. We are unable to rate food as we ate at surrounding restaurants alll the time

We had a wonderful experience at ther Hotel Excelsior and highly recommend it. Even the most inexpensive roms are impressive (though no views). The location is great, dining outside on the terrace overlooking the walled city is amazing, and the breakfasts buffets included with the room are fantastic. Highly recommend this hotel.

The Excelsior is a very good hotel, very close to one of the gates of the Old Town, and with a private 'beach'. The beach is actually more a rock area, with a buoyed off part of the sea to swim in. The service was good, the breakfast was good, the room would have been a great size if for two sharing, but we were three. Bathroom good size. I think […] it was very expensive for what it was. Excellent hotel and location - highly recommend.

Great Hotel. 5 stars! Food was amazing, room beautiful. The view was even more amazing. Very clean and comfortable. Everyone we saw was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel, we especially enjoyed the private beach where you can swim in the Adriatic, the beach restaurant and spa area. Staff were efficient and friendly - we can't wait to go back!

A wonderful hotel with the best possible location in Dubrovnik. Very nice atmosphere. But be aware that all rooms with sea-view does not have a balcony

Bed are a little hard but I think all are a little stiff in Europe. Great breakfast!

Perfect location, close enough to Old City for easy access and right on the Adriatic...however, staff was unhelpful and unfriendly. Room was very poor quality with shower that leaked water all over the bedroom floor, a tv that didn't work, a badly stained carpet, a view consisting of a road and someone's back yard. We informed the concierge months in […] advance that we would be traveling there for our honeymoon and the room we received was a double bed consisting of two twin beds pushed together with separate covers!! It only takes 5min on foot from Old town. Excellent location. Great view. Staff were very friendly.

Amazing room, great facilities for my 10 month old baby (crib and high chair provided), and our suite had an extra room for the baby to sleep in. The car service was able to provide a car seat, but it appeared broken and the driver did not know how to work it. The room was wonderful. The only thing they should change is the balcony railings should be […] changed to see something clear, because the thick iron bars block the view. Location to old city was the best in Dubrovnik, very easy walk, and on the less hectic east side. The included breakfast had a big variety of hot and cold food, and was great atmosphere and service. Hotel excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. The only negative is they had those stupid hairdryers (like many hotels) that have no real power to them, and they did not allow iron and ironing boards for the rooms which is inconvenient.

Fantastic hotel within a 5 minute walk to the old town, great cocktails in the Piano bar overlooking the Adriatic and Old Town. Very big sea level swimming pool and luxurious spa facilities. Private patio to jump into the Adriatic (if you want to). Very clean, comfortable rooms. Plentiful breakfast. A very good hotel experience.

とてもすてきな滞在ができました。朝食の分をお弁当にしてくれるなど柔軟に対応していただき感謝です。 ホテルの食事もとても美味しく滞在中の夕食はすべてホテルでいただきました。大満足です。風呂も深くて大きいです。街と反対側のシービューの部屋でしたが静かでとてもよかったです。是非 次回も利用したいです。

Angenehmes wenn auch in die Jahre gekommenes Hotel ohne Prunk, supertolle Lage in 10Min mitten in der Altstadt, superior room grosszügig u wahnsinns Sicht über das Meer auf den alten Hafen,, nette Angestellte, grosszügiger Spa mit breitem Massageangebot, 3 Saunen u stilvollem Pool, Terrasse über dem Meer- mit Wolldecken auch wunderbar, Pianobar und […] kleine aber feine Snacks jederzeit. Das Hotel hat sicherlich bessere Zeiten gesehen. Dennoch waren wir sehr zufrieden. Schöne große Zimmer, ein wunderbarer Blick auf die Altstadt, ein Spa Bereich mit wundervollem Pool, sehr gepflegten Saunen und Wirlpools. Flott hotell med flott beliggenhet!

旧市街地まで徒歩圏内にありながら近くにビーチもあり、バルコニーからはアドリア海を臨める抜群のロケーションです。 立地・部屋の素晴らしさもさることながら、ホテルのスタッフも全員感じがよくて、とても良いステイでした。次回も絶対ここを利用したいと思います。

Hotel and service excellent, complicated building, got a bit tired of walking 10 min. to town centre and back several times a day. Prices of stay and on ohter things at the hotel are very high compared to other alternatives.

Vi hadde blitt lovet et røkfritt rum,men det stinket da vi kom og da sendte de ned en med duftspray! Helt uakseptabelt så da fikk vi byttet til et tilsvarende som ikke luktet.

Die Lage des Hotels ist wirklich ganz fantastisch. Man ist in fünf Minuten mitten in der Altstadt von Dubrovnik, nachdem man wunderbare Stunden am Adriatischen Meer verbracht hat.

ドブロブニクでの滞在には最適な場所ではないかと思います。 ホテルからも十分に世界遺産の景色が堪能でき、旧市街を散策して疲れたらちょっと戻ってホテルで休憩ということも簡単にできるので、比較的滞在が短い方には最適ではないでしょうか。 また、城壁を眺めながらの朝食も最高で、料理にも満足です。 アメニティもロクシタンのバーベナシリーズでとてもリッチな気分になりました。 様々な角度から旧市街を眺めましたが、スルジ山の展望台からの眺めの次にホテルからの眺めが良かったので、絶対おすすめのホテルです。

Vi hadde et helt perfekt opphold på dette hotellet! Flotte rom, super service, god mat og fantastiske sole- og bademuligheter på hotellet. Nydelig utsikt til gamlebyen. Hvis det er et sted man bare MÅ tilbake, er det hit!
