Hotel discreto e pulito, con camere spaziose (la nostra era con l'angolo cottura). Unici nei, il pagamento della rete wireless (14$ al giorno e senza che ti informino preventivamente) e le condizioni generali dell'hotel, ormai bisognoso di una rinfrescata. Posizione magnifica, vicina a tutte le principali attrazioni.

L'hotel pur avendo una struttura non troppo moderna offre uno standard di qualità per un soggiorno gradevole e rilassante. la vicinanza dal centro città e dalle zono più turistiche è senza meno un punto di forza così come la dimensione della suite che consente una vivibilità ottimale per una famiglia. Eravamo due adulti e due bambini e abbiamo preso una junior suite (queen bed + sofa bed). Brutta sorpresa il primo giorno: apriamo il divano letto e non c'erano lenzuola. Avvisata la reception, hanno provveduto subito. Molto comodo con i bambini poter fare colazione e cena in albergo, il cucinino ha un'attrezzatura essenziale, ma sufficiente per un […] breve soggiorno, con un bel frigo grande. Il personale è piuttosto gentile e disponibile; la posizione è comoda, vicini le linee di autobus e la metro di grand terminal station è a pochi isolati. la struttura è un po' vecchiotta, l'arredamento, la moquette, le stoviglie... anche. ma tutto sommato se non si hanno grandi pretese, il rapporto qualità/ prezzo è onesto. a 5 minuti a piedi dalla metro e a 15 da times square.

Overall the hotel is quite nice. Excellent service, nice appartment with 2 bedrooms a living room, 2 bathrooms and a kitchen. The first thing that hit us was the size of the room, it was huge, was like having two or three normal size hotel rooms. Fairly convenient location, like everything in NYC it's only a cab ride away!

Great location, away from the hustle bustle, but 10 minutes walk away you are at Grand Central Station, 15 min Empire State

Decent hotel. Room was very big and quiet The kitchen was a big plus The only gripes were it was a couple of blocks from the nearest subway and you had to pay for wireless (quite expensive)

nothing glamorous but clean and affordable

Though the fixtures and the facility are a little dated, the midtown location is great and the room was gigantic for Manhattan -- kitchenette, two closets, sitting area, table/desk.

When staying at this hotel, I was provided the best service ever. The location was close to everything. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I would love to stay there again and will recommend to many..

Hotels.com had told me that the hotel had been completely renovated recently. It was definitely not the case. The suite was very spacious and clean but very very outdated. The outside and lobby of the hotel was very worn and outdated as well. -Not worth the money I paid.

When I come to NYC for weeklong stays, I enjoy the Eastgate due to its large rooms, plentiful plugs & closets, and full kitchens (I love having breakfast before leaving my room). It is often hectic in the small lobby but the staff are always pleasant. It is convenient to Grand Central and airports.

Murray Hill neighborhood, close to Grand Central, plenty of fine but inexpensive restaurants. Hotel rooms are spacious and well maintained, with kitchenette (ours was immaculate). Very friendly and helpful staff.

I've stayed at this hotel before, and been more satisfied. This visit, I was given a peculiar room that was handicap-equiped, and otherwise not very appropriate. The bathroom was a long corridor with a walk-in shower. Water from the shower drained into the bathroom corridor.

Very clean and convenient. Very close to Grand Central and all the trains, busses and subways. Tho the charge for wifi was high, the front desk pointed me to Starbucks and MacDonalds. Lots of free hot spots in NYC, especially in the lobbies of museums. The big win was getting a quiet hypoallergenic room - I scored a room on the 20th floor with a great […] view. I could even see the Empire State Building! The hypoallergenic request gave me a super clean room with the usual dusty bedspread removed. The kitchen was a bonus. The Eastgate staff were excellent and the hotel is conveniently located in a nice neighborhood. The rooms are convenient with kitchens, but the hotel rooms have not been updated in what seems to be about 25 years. Old industrial carpet and cheap finishes abound. I chose to stay at The Eastgate Hotel because it was close to where I needed to be and the price was right. My room was nicely furnished, clean and quiet. I found the kitchen to be very handy and useful dealing with the leftovers I brought home. I definitely plan to include The Eastgate Hotel in my visits to New York.

The hotel is very convenient to the Midtown tunnel and Long Island City. The neighborhood is relatively quiet at night which is good for those needing to catch up on some sleep. The rooms were very big but the furniture was dated. Not bad though.

Was given a free upgrade to the larger suite. Wow. This is definitely the place to come if you're traveling with friends or family.

Old decor, but incredible location, friendly service, massive suites (cheaper than most rooms in town), and perfectly clean. Nothing to not like.

Well the hotel was nice and the staff was pretty nice, and the lady in the front desk was very pretty and nice,lol. but the only thing i didn't like was the parking deal. Me and My cuz stay two days and had to pay $70 dollars to park, and we didnt even use the car. Besides that nice place to stay.

My room was huge, but most of the furniture looked like it came from a thrift shop in Brooklyn. However, the bed was fine and the price was right. For a convenient place to sleep while on a business trip, you can't beat it.

This hotel seems in desperate need of an overhaul.

NICE LARGE ROOM, GREAT LOCATION, LOVED HAVING THE KITCHENETTE.....THE STAFF COULDN'T HAVE BEEN FRIENDLIER AND MORE ACCOMMODATING!

Early check in and staff found us a room and let us have access. Very friendly staff. Maid staff friendly and rooms nice size though a bit dated. Biggest negative? Mattress was not up to our standards. Close to the un and union station. Market nearby and cabs available. Nice base to operate from.....nice low rate.

We booked a 2 bedroom suite with a kitchenette for 2 couples and 1 adult. Lots of space, clean hotel, really nice staff, great location, really good value. Not 4-star but a solid 3-star experience. Would recommend to budget-conscious families or groups.

We stayed here over Christmas and were pleasantly surprised considering some of the other reviews. A big plus was the kitchenette and large walk in closet + additional closet space provided ample storage. Nice king bed and not too noisy. Eastgate pluses - close to Grand Central, nice neighborhood, plenty of affordable restaurants and drug stores in the area. Rooms are apartments with kitchens, very large by NYC standards. Room was very clean, but furnishings (including TV) were outdated. Basic cable, pay internet in the rooms. Hotel lobby needs refurbishing, as does the hallway carpeting. […] But for the price, can't be beat. Bring your own shampoo and soap (or buy at CVS walking over from Grand Central). The Eastgate was headquarters for a big family weekend event. Everybody loved it. Service was spot on. Personnel were super friendly. Neighborhood is quiet and convenient and there are tons of good places to eat. Easy access to Grand Central and Penn stations. The price - an amazing bargain!

The East Tower hotel far surpassed my expectations. The costumer service was great from the second we walked in the door to the point of check out when we needed to store our bags during the afternoon. Nice size, roomy jr. suite. Small, functional kitchen. The room appeared dated and the carpet probably could've used a shampoo. Local attractions fairly close, walking distance. Internet access for a fee. Easy access to taxis. Close to restaurants, drug stores, market, etc. Satisfactory stay for a family of four.

We were very pleased with choosing the Eastgate Tower as our base for our one week stay in New York in December ’11. There is also a constant flow of taxi’s around the hotel, so getting around is very easy. The area around the hotel further conviniently offers shops, restaurants and bars. The Eastgate is really a good base location for first time visitors to NYC. Good value for money, close enough to all amenities, yet far enough away to give you a little peace at night. Believe me, peace and quiet is hard to come by in NYC and after a couple of days, you would really appreciate going back to a hotel where you can find some peace… The Eastgate offers just that.
