Fanstatico, siam stati benissimo!
camera piccola bagno datato senza bidè e doccia fissa
"soggiorno incantevole"
Continua a leggere
l'albergo ha un sistema di condizionatori molto datato. faceva freddo e il riscaldamento non funzionava. ci hanno cambiato la stanza ma il freddo l'abbiamo sofferto allo stesso modo. consiglio di andarci d'estate!

"Value & Location. Those with disabilities be aware"
The location is great, about 200 yards in front of St. Peter's and 100 yards from the various tour bus stops (hop on - hop off double decker bus). If value and location are your top criteria, you would be challenged to find a better place (the cardinal hotel is next door at twice the price). Room was average in size and comfort by European standards. […] The floors of the hotel aren't on one level, they vary throughout with steps up and down. In addition, the sink area of my bathroom was level with the bedroom floor, but you had to go up 4 steps to an elevated area for toilets and shower. For the average person this is ok and unique. If you have a disability (I don't) it might be challenging or not the right hotel for you. It was about a 3 block walk to restaurants for lunch/dinner although you could get snacks very near the hotel. Continua a leggere
Very close to the Vatican and key sites. Restaurant is a work of art, 13th century monastery, and outstanding.
"Hotel Columbus--at the heart of Vatican City"
The service provided by the staff was excellent. They were very approachable and helpful towards our needs. Our room was clean, bathroom was small but typical for a European room but clean. The plumbing however was older, you are unable to flush the toilet one after another. The location was very convenient, right next to St. Peter's Basilica.

"Charming hotel a block from St. Peter's square."
The Hotel Columbus was a charming hotel with an excellent staff. They spoke English very well, remembered my name and room number every time I came in the front door, gave great directions to nearby attractions (and have the best map I could find!) I would not dream of staying anywhere else. It was a quick walk to restaurants, churches, St. Peter's. […] The Sistine Chapel and downtown Rome. The neighborhood felt safe and clean. There is a nice garden with a fountain that I enjoyed listening to at night. The beds were very comfortable. My only complaint is that the lighting in my room was dim, but not so in the rooms of my friends. Overall I would definitely stay here again. Continua a leggere
"Great Location"
If you are going to spend some time at the Vatican, this is the place to be, 1.5 blocks away from the basilica. Great service, friendly people, and very comfortable. Only thing I had trouble with was finding my way around the elevator, and some halls, every flight of stairs is decorated with a portrait of a priest, and they all look exactly alike unless […] you pay attention... anyway, I think this is more of a personal problem than anything else. If I ever go back, I am going back to this same hotel, definitely recommend it. very cozy. Continua a leggere
"Hotel Columbus in Rome, Italy"
Loved everything about it, the location was perfect and close to the Vatican. Everyone that worked there went out of their way to make us comfortable.
"Hotel Columbus- perfect location"
Hotel Columbus is a very historical and elegant hotel with a perfect location and good service. The rooms themselves are not great although not bad either. Our bathroom was modern but the room itself was quite outdated. If you value a really nice room then you should probably stay somewhere else, but if you value a historical setting and an excellent […] location like I do, then this hotel is great for you. "Beautiful old world hotel"
Arrival at this hotel was such a soothing experience. Having transferred from an adequate but impersonal and uninteresting hotel in another part of the city, and having traversed St. Peter's Square teeming with people on a Sunday, I entered the calming atmosphere of an old palazzo, cool and quiet and very elegant. I couldn't have been better pleased. […] The public rooms are magnificent and filled with antiques. My room, while not ultra-luxurious, was quite attractive and clean and had a pleasant view of the narrow side street. The area is superb, being just steps from the entrance to St. Peter's. There are nearby bus stops, but the Metro is about a 10 min. walk. I will definitely plan to stay there again when I am in Rome. It cost a bit more than the other non-descript hotel where I first stayed, but it was worth the extra. My only complaint was the lack of free internet for which they charge either an hourly fee or a daily fee (if you use it, of course). Breakfast was not included, but I don't eat breakfast anyway. One of the best in a long list of hotels throughout Europe. Very helpful front desk. Just about perfectly located, with front row seats to the Vatican.
"Hotel Columbus-Rome Italy"
I was amazed at the proximity to the Vatican this hotel was. Staff was great. Understood English. We needed a ride to the airport, I told the desk when we checked in the date and time. A car was there as requested. If I make it back to Rome, I will stay at the Hotel Columbus. It appeared that the hotel was starting to paint the rooms and hallways. Keeping […] it up to date. My stay was enjoyable. The hotel is amazing I loved its antiquity and is very well placed for St Peter's square and the Vatican also the Sightseeing buses are available from across the street. "Hotel Columbus-great location, great history"
You can walk to The Vatican and get on the hop on hop off bus at the front door of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, even charged our cell phones. The very nice buffet breakfast can be eaten in a beautiful room inside or on the patio outside. We enjoyed out stay and would stay there again.
"Hotel Columbus in Rome, Italy"
Thank goodness we spent only 2 nights out of a 2 week trip to Italy. "Girls trip" , 4 of us, without husbands in mid-September, 2011. Temperature was hot and humid, in the 90's F."Air conditioned" but "family room" with 2 separate bedrooms had portable air conditioning units which you had to put the exhaust pipe out of the window, which was close to […] the ceiling, letting in hot air!!! One leaked water all over the floor and the other just did not work. we were more concerned about the wet floor (old monastery) than the staff and nothing was done!!!! Room was dark due to the small, very high windows. Bathroom tub had no enclosure for a shower, but had shower hose. Difficult for older people. Room was clean. The best thing about the hotel was it's location for seeing the Vatican area. St. Peter's Church was very close and amazing at night when the busloads of tours leave for the day. We would not stay at this hotel again. Continua a leggere

"Hotel Columbus at St Peters Square and the Vatıcan"
This hotel is perfect for first time to Roma the location is at St Peters Square the neighborhood lovely the service excellent. The history over whelming. I would stay over and over again and recommend all to stay at this hotel for easy access to the most historic sights in the world. N. S. AAA Travel Agent
The bed wasn't so comfortable. They had a board under the mattress and also the shower was very small.
Unbeatable location. Rooms with not much comfort for 4 stars.

"Great view of St. Peter's, but that's about it..."
The location inside Vatican City is very convenient if you plan on spending all of your trip there. Overall, the hotel was clean and the breakfast buffet was delicious, but when it came down to the room, ehhhh. I traveled with a friend and I don't know if you are aware, but there are two things you need to know: the beds in italy are very narrow and […] uncomfortable and there is pretty much no such thing as air conditioning. Granted it was August, but if you're a cool sleeper keep looking. Staff was friendly and curtious and the Hotel was quite nice. Continua a leggere

"hotel with no air conditioning"
hotel lacked air conditioning and made for no sleep the first night. the gardens were reserved for a company dinner, as well as the dining room. there was no place to get fresh air, aside from the from of the hotel near the street. 12 and under were supposed to be free, but they charged for our daughter. needs some main. to rooms for sure
"Hotel Columbus"
The hotel is very old. Hot water and air conditioning didn't work, no Internet in the rooms, wifi at the public area is very expensive and doesn't work very well, keep charging even after logout. Rooms are very small, very old and uncomfortable bed and sofa only 1 tiny little lift. Not good for value.
"Please read, the best room in Rome!"
I must tell you this is simply the best Hotel in all of Rome. The service was exceptional, air conditioning was great, Breakfast was to look forward to. All this and your 1 block from the St Peter's square. All of romes bus tours start in front of the hotel everyday. "Parking and food"
There was free parking for our rental car and an outstanding restaurant. Very helpful front desk. This is a 15th century building converted to a hotel in 1957. What it lacks in sparkly newness, it makes up with lots of old world charm. Bathrooms are completely updated with large walk-in showers. The air conditioning is reliable and very effective. "Hotel Columbus Rome - great location"
Well located very close to the Vatican. 15 minute walk to Pantheon and other major sights. Polite and helpful staff. Good continental breakfast. Yes, the restaurant prices are quite high but there are dozens of reasonably priced restaurants within walking distance on either side of the river. There is also a supermarket and an internet point only 10 […] minutes walk along Vittorio Emanuele II street. The rooms are a little basic but very clean. They provide a flat fee service to the airport - reliable. Overall, very clean and safe location. I would recommend this hotel. Continua a leggere

"A hotel that doesn't know who it is catering for."
This is a bit of a strange review to write. If you empty out all the contents of the hotel, you will find a beautiful monastic building that has been well preserved and easy to understand how you could get a great hotel. But put all of the tat in the hotel, and it is ruined. The biggest issue is the bed-- our first room, the bed was so old and small, […] my wife and I barely fit and we sunk to the middle. When we complained, we were told that because we booked through hotels.com, we only get a the lower quality rooms (strange- because how else do you find rooms now?). However, we were finally moved up to a better room and the bed was larger and marginally better. I don't think we slept very well the remaining nights and were happy to leave. In short, the hotel is in dire need of some basic, cosmetic upgrades. We hadn't seen a tube TV in years! In any case, I would recommend somewhere else until the hotel gets its act together. It isn't a 4 star by any stretch, but could with a little work. If they want to be budget, then they are selling to the wrong crowd. The restaurant is very good and the wine selection is over twenty pages long. Continua a leggere
"Hotel Columbus"
The hotel and rooms are old, very basic but clean . Continental breakfast is fine with a lot of cake and sweet pastries served at breakfast Our bedroom was a family suite, however it was next to a goods lift and it was extremely noisy from about 7am in the morning with staff busying about? Staff were very friendly.
Excellent location, very bad hotels facilities, especially the beds.
"Hotel Columbus"
The area and main hotel were fabulous but the room was tired old, furniture scuffed and the springs in the bed were gone, very disappointed with the room and the attitude of the desk manager when we explained we were only staying for one night and would like a bed we could sleep in, he fobbed us off 3 times before eventually moving us to a tiny even […] more run down room - but the bed was ok so we just gave up as we were tired and had to be up early in the morning. My advice would be to visit, have a glass of wine in the garden, explore the beautiful building - and stay somewhere else. Continua a leggere
