"close to the 'old town', the water and shopping"
the staff was generally unfriendly and unhelpful. Breakfast was a best very ordinary. The room very small and extremely noisy so having the balcony door open was not an option with traffic starting a 5am and air conditioning not working. We would never recommend nor stay there again.
"Good hotel for the price"
Excelent hotel in a great location. Bus abd tram stops are close by. Beach is one block away. Many restaurants and shops nearby. Front desk was helpful and spoke english quite well. I would stay here again in a heart beat.
"Hotel Albert 1er"
Very good location. Rooms are in poor condition, breakfast only cheap products. Service at reception ok. Again, the good location is worth much.

"Hotel Albert 1er"
This hotel is a fabulous location and great bargain given its proximity to Old Town Nice. The staff was pleasant and very accomodating, the room comfortable and relatively large, and free wifi an added bonus.
"Albert 1'er Hotel in Nice, France"
Worst Hotel I've ever stayed in...Staff were rude, ill-trained and behaved as if they were doing us a favour by letting us stay with them. Location was good which helped get away from the hotel quickly during the day. the hotel is outdated..the standard room we stayed in was tiny...overlooking the road...even though it was sold as overlooking the garden( […] the garden they are referring to is the one across the road and belongs to another hotel or is a public park). "Albert 1er, Nice, France"
We stayed two nights in the hotel and we're pleased with everything. The price was cheap and the quality was very good for the price we payed. The location was perfect and parking hall was only a few minutes away. In general the expierience was very positive.
Clean room, staff helpful but room was cold and only one blanket on bed. extra blankets provided on request. toiletries in bathroom could be better, only soap and sachets of shampoo/ shower gel combined and not great quality. Excellent location.

"GREAT location, central, and easy to get to"
We had a sea view room, which is not a direct view to the sea but you can see the sea behind the garden which was nice..Breakfast did not look appealing so we never had breakfast but bought food from the supermaket mear by. There is a fridge which was great! Heating worked very god and beds were comfortable! They have a bad style, and is is a bit worn […] but other than that is was a great hotel. There is a great restaurant just behind the hotel Bistro Gourmand so if you don't mind going else where for your breakfast and dinner it's perfect! Continua a leggere
"Hotel Albert 1'er was all that was expected."
We found the hotel easily from the RR station via tram and a short walk. We loved the location, near a park, the seaside and the shops, all in walking distance. The staff spoke English and were very helpful in guiding us where we wanted to go and arranging transportation to the airport. The room was clean and comfortable.
"Albert 1'er Hotel Nice, France - lovely"
clean, charming, comfortable, friendly and helpful staff.
"Albert 1 hotel in Nice"
Fantastic location, friendly sservice, cosy room - like home. Not ritzy but amazing value for money I would stay there again anytime
"Great Price, Fantastic Location"
Price: Reasonable for size of room and location. Location: great. Close to beach and restaurants. Catch bus 98 from airport to bus stop right out the front of the hotel. Room: quite large, balcony and very large bathroom with plenty of bench space. Staff: English speaking and helpful. Amenities: free wifi in room although a bit slow at times. "Hotel Albert L'er"
room & bathroom very clean. Hotel needs decorating badly. Could do with bar or lounge area.Breakfast very good value. Good position for seafront and shops.
Had a very pleasant stay in this hotel. Location was perfect- near both the promenade/beach and vieux Nice. Lots of little restaurants nearby. Would stay here again. Staff very helpful. It was well worth paying a little extra for the sea view. Wonderful to look out the window every morning!
"good location"
good location .. minutes away from old town.. place massena and new town.... beach just across the road..... negatives were hotel very dated.. we were iven a room at the back with no sea or park view... mattresses very soft... room needed decorating.... be aware they charge 4 euro a day for a lock for the safety deposit in the room and even tho our […] booking said including taxes we were still charged city tax..... all in all if your not going to spend much time in your room and want a good central location Albert 1er is fine Continua a leggere
"Hotel Albert 1'er Nice, France"
We stayed at this hotel in August and were really disappointed at the standards here. The room we were allocated was so small and shabby that it was difficult to get in and out of. We decided to seek another hotel but on hearing this the reception staff offered us a larger (but no less shabby) room and we reluctantly accepted. The Hotel Albert 1'er […] should not be called a hotel at all because it is more reminiscent of a 60's New York rooming house. Its only forte is its location. Continua a leggere

"Albert 1er, Nice"
We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights @ this hotel. While the building itself is very old, it was comfortable and clean, including air conditioning, wi-fi, modern bathroom facilities & television. The location, minutes from the Old City & a block from the sea, along with the breathtaking view, looking over the park and out onto the Cote D'Azur, were Incredible!!!! […] The rate was quite reasonable and the coissants served @ breakfast, the BEST!! A very pleasurable experience! Continua a leggere

"Great location and good hotel"
Outstanding price/location. A block from the Sea, a block from the Square, adjacent to the plaza, and near the tram. It is not a high-end hotel, but a great old school french hotel. With a good staff. Request rooms 601-605. The view is great!
"Great hotel!!!"
Although not very modern it is a great hotel- clean, comfortable, excellent location, very good and friendly service, decent breakfast (although not included, cost 12 euros), great view of park and beach. I would definitely recommend and would go back if I were to travel again to niece.
"Do Not Stay Here"
Think Bates Motel meets the worst sketchy neighborhood in all of Nice. The hotel is near the waterfront, but the rooms are dusty, and very old. The bathrooms are not clean and our toilet handle was broken. You have to leave the key at the front desk when you leave the hotel - they have "no copies" of keys apparently, but I really didn't like this. When […] I arrived back at the hotel very late one night, they didn't even ask me for identification before they handed over the room key. DO NOT STAY HERE..... Continua a leggere
"Good location but a little noisy"
One block from the Med. Can't beat that. The bathroom was very small, but that's just part of the fun, right? We were here during our honeymoon, and the proximity to the beach and shopping was perfect. Would we go back? Yes. We only slept in the hotel, the beach is where we lived, so the hotel was just fine for us. cheers
"Great location in Nice but bring earplugds"
Hotel Albert 1'er is great value for NIce and ideally located. Rooms are basic but very clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. Garden view rooms are best because they are a little larger and brighter than the standard ones - but bring your earplugs as you will hear a lot of traffic noise at night!
"Just before Tourist Season"
I stayed here for a long weekend in May. There were quite a few other tourists but the streets were not overwhelmed with "us". The hotel is nice, not great. It's 4-star (for Nice) but don't expect room service or over-the-top amenities. I did not have breakfast here (I enjoyed the local crepes in the market nearby) but it was nice. The staff were friendly […] and the location is very convenient. I would recommend to stay here if all you need is a place to crash. Continua a leggere

"1er Albert - Leaking Plumbing"
Bluntly, I didn't like this hotel, but to be fair, I'll start with the good news: 1.) Good location, close to the beach and Old Nice. Depending on your room, you could have a nice view from a balcony of a park and the sea. Ok, now the bad news: 1.) The plumbing was leaking as I stayed in this hotel and I was woken up several times by the front desk […] calling to check on it. Once, when I was trying to get some work in my room (despite the lack of working internet), they sent a maintenance person up. He was nice enough and stayed out of my way, but it was still a large inconvenience. 2.) As I have already mentioned, despite advertising free WiFi, it doesn't work (although this may be a positive if you want to get away from work...) My laptop couldn't connect, and neither could those of other guests. The front desk could not help with the problem. 3.) Every morning at 6am I was awoken by some sort of horrible grinding noise that lasted for several seconds, and repeated at least once every ten minutes. I have no idea what was making this noise, but it was horrible. 4.) The hotel has very thin walls, so being right near the beach means it was also very near a large road with a lot of noisy scooters and trucks, that I could hear clearly even with the windows closed, however... 5.) ...I had to keep the windows open because the air conditioning didn't work. Fortunately the weather was pretty nice, but this will likely not be very feasible if you go in July/August. 6.) Maybe I'm too paranoid, but I have security concerns regarding the way room keys are handled (I don't want to go into details on the internet, because I don't want to give anyone any ideas) In summary, 1er Albert is very well located, but an otherwise run-down establishment. If I go back Nice, I would be willing to spend a lot more to stay in the same area, just at a nicer hotel. Continua a leggere

"Albert Premier should be your first choice"
The hotel was a bit older and the room and bathroom was tiny, however, it was cozy, comfortable and clean. The location could not have been better as you could walk to everything. We could also see the ocean and the park across the street from our room. The staff was very nice and everyone of them we encountered spoke English.
"Enjoyed our off-season stay"
We stayed for four nights in early January, and paid 47 EUR per night. At this discounted rate we thought the hotel was a very good deal. Had we paid the full sticker price, I think we would have been a little underwhelmed. The location is excellent, with a huge selection of restaurants and shops in easy walking distance, both the old city and the […] fancier shopping district to the west. The hotel itself is your standard, nothing fancy European city hotel. It was clean. I don't think our TV worked, but we weren't particularly interested. They charged 6 EUR for unlimited WIFI. Their captive portal was somewhat broken -- it handed out bad IP addresses two times out of three. Continua a leggere
"30 years ago, a nice place."
Hotel is dated and shabby. During my stay I encountered the most unfriendly folks I met in all of the riviera at the awkwardly-placed hotel desk - very difficult to get a smile or hello from the staff. TV was broken and remained unfixed through the stay. Internet was down (staff says this is usually the case). My room had a tiny stand up shower (no […] bath), no bidet, and contrary to the write-up no room service available ever. A very central location (you can walk to the tram) but among the very lowest of the 3-star hotels I have seen in Europe. Continua a leggere
"Albert 1'er, Nice, France"
The hotel was very close to the sea, shops and the Christmas market. Unfortunately the internet wasn't working but everything else was okay.
"Good location, bad hotel"
The room was too cold, the airconditioning did not work! The drain does not work well! Internet service terrible! Bad service from the reception (at night) when trying to solve the problem. I would definately not recommend this hotel!
"The Hotel Albert 1er in Nice--perfect location"
The Albert 1er Hotel in Nice, France is a small, typical French hotel. The location is absolutely perfect--across the street from the sea, around the corner from Old Nice and the market, close to the bus station. The breakfast there is excellent, with the freshest croissants you could ask for. The hotel staff are extremely helpful and friendly.
"HIGHLY RECOMMENDED"
Hotel Albert 1er in Nice is highly recommended. Excellent location near old nice, place massena, night life, shops, restaurants, market, bus station and train station, you name it... Airport bus stops just outside the building. Nice old building, with beautiful garden/sea view. Rooms are spacious and clean, but need a face lift which did not bother […] us at all. We did not try their breakfast, preferred to have breakfast in one of the many cafes/restaurants near the hotel. We were really glad to stay there. Continua a leggere
"Great Location"
Great location in Nice - sea front, bus from airport, tram, old town - this hotel is handy for everything The staff were all really helpful and all spoke excellent English. Room was carefully serviced every day. Even though overlooking the road (4th floor) view across the park was great and double-glazing very effective at keeping any noise out.
"Great price and location"
Furnishing is a bit old fashioned but the room was very comfortable and clean and you can't beat the price for this location. I was happy to note that the balcony of my room had the same park view as the Merdian hotel across the street for 20% of the cost. I had no problems with street noise but the walls were a little thin (I heard a guy singing in […] the shower in the next room). Continua a leggere
"Great location, decent hotel for the $$"
Perfect location less than 1 block from the beach and directly on the bus line. Located in the center of the Old City with an abundance of cafes, shops, parks, and markets just a few blocks walk. The hotel is a bit dated, but that adds to the old world, french charm. The bed was a bit stiff and the "hairdryer" in the bathroom was laughable (looked like […] an old school vacuum cleaner!) but the view from the balcony was great and the staff were extremely friendly. I suggest taking the bus from the airport (4 euros to ride all day) as a taxi can cost 35-40 euros one way. The hotel does not provide any towels or beach items, but if you are willing to pay you can rent a lounge chair, towel, and umbrella down at the beach for 24 euros for the whole day. All in all a good hotel for the money. Continua a leggere
