Metro Apartments on Darling Harbour - Sydney Sydney

Fantastic location

Great value for money considering the amazing location and beautiful views over darling harbour.

We had a 6th floor apartment which was just what we needed for a 3 day stopover. TheTV did not work but was soon fixed. Whilst elderly, it was comfortable with a lovely view onto Cockleshell Bay. Plenty of places to buy food nearby either to cook ourselves or eating out.

A good and comfortable Hotel. Easily accessible to all amenities. Courteous and helpful staff. Rooms cleaned everyday. However it will be more comfortable to have a TV in the bedroom. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and would love to come back.

It was exactly what we wanted and the location was perfect.

Although this is an older hotel, it was clean and comfortable. The convenience of a kitchen and washer and dryer was a definate plus and a good value. Great location, short walk to convention center at Darling Harbor and downtown area. We had a great view of the Harbor too. There are 2 grocery stores close by.

Dismal and dingy room and not worth the money. or the claimed stars. Decor and facilities inadequate. For the price expected to be of Hilton or Sheraton standard, was more like a hostel. Have stayed in other apparthotels in Sydney that have been good.

This hotel turned out to be a blessing in disguise, it looked older when we entered and we were not sure of our decision to stay here when we saw it, but it turned out great! The front desk and staff were all very helpful and always ready to cater to our needs, which made a huge difference in our opinion of the place, the rooms were clean and tidy, […] the kitchen and washer/dryer helped a lot The only negative is the amount of stairs, so if you have difficulty with stairs, I would not recommend a stay here. there are stairs going upto the main desk, and staris inside the apt as well, so it makes it difficult for people who can't use them as easily All in all, very good place and I would recommend it and come back next time! These apartments are much more roomy than a hotel and much better equipped (though a coffee maker would be good). The area is just about perfect for seeing the sights of Sydney. We had a front facing room with a great view of Darling Harbour through the huge floor to ceiling window. Unfortunately, the view also encompasses the freeway and a main route […] into town - oh, and the pub across the way. The biggest failure is that the window is only single glazed and so the traffic noise is really intrusive all day and all night. Add to that a pub with live music every night featuring some of the worst singers in Australia (and you will hear every note) then the visit was certainly marred by a real lack of sleep. This is a great shame, since in every other respect, these apartments offer really good value. Lots of space and cooking facilities make this much better than a hotel room. But oh for some double glazing! Maybe with ear-plugs you can sleep, but we were unprepared. If the noise problem wasn't there (and rooms without a view may not suffer so much) I would rate this place highly, but on holiday, you do want to sleep. Continua a leggere

The room decor is a bit old & tired but that is the only criticism i have of the Metro. Everything else was great - the room in general, location & price) Floor to ceiling windows offered excellent views across Darling Harbour. The room is split on 2 levels, with the bedroom & bathroom on the mezzanine floor upstairs, along with the washer & dryer. […] The kitchen & lounge area were comfortable & spacious, with cable tv allowing access to numerous channels. The apartments are in a fantastic location (corner of Sussex & King streets), easy reach for all the sights of Sydney. Across the road from Darling Harbour which is full of things to see (Aquarium, Maritime museum etc), places to shop, drink & eat. It's a 5min walk up King Street into the main shopping areas of Sydney like George St; and a 20min walk from the Harbour Bridge & Circular Quay. You can get the airport shuttle bus service straight to the door for only $14; but Wynyard station is only 5mins away if you take the train from the airport. Parking is $30 per night, using a secure car park 200m from the hotel. I certainly recommend the Metro to anyone visiting Sydney. Continua a leggere

Beliggenheden er fin, og opbygningen af lejligheden er for så vidt god, og især ved rejse med små børn er det meget praktisk med eget køkken. Soveafdelingen er dog på første sal i lejligheden, hvilket gør at den ikke er super velegnet til små børn. Det skinner igennem, at hele hotellet trænger til vedligeholdelse (en del løse paneler og afskallet maling), […] men det er det rene vand i sammenligning med den svært mangelfulde rengøring af køkkenet. Det er langt fra vores første ophold i ferielejlighed, og aldrig har vi oplevet så ulækkert et køkken. Det praktiske ved at have et køkken forsvinder, når det er for ulækkert til at bruge.
