"Last Minute Visit to See Son"
The pillows were awful, but the bed was somewhat comfortable. This is an old building and in need of rennovation. The front desk clerk was very pleasant. The decor was very dated. Bathroom sink had cig burns and the furniture was damaged. For the price, it's probably acceptable.

"Gross and Unsafe!"
I wasn't looking for the Ritz Carlton, just a place to stay for two days for SIU orientation. Staff was friendly but the place is disgusting. I had to close my eyes while showering so I wasn't so grossed-out. The box-spring underneath the mattress looked like it had old dried body fluid. I didn't feel safe; the door could easily be kicked in.When we […] came back for the second day, the housekeeping had obviously been smoking in our room while "cleaning." "What a dump"
1st - we had a confirmed reservation for 2 full size beds and when we get there they said they only had 1 bed. We showed our confirmed e-mail and he said that was not what we reserved, and we could go down the street at a different hotel, but he would not refund the money there, we would have to do it on-line. Since we were leary about the service, […] we went ahead and stayed cause it was mid-night. 2nd - bath Tub ran on a slow trickle all night long, and could not be shut off 3rd-sheets were almost completely worn through. You could hold it up and see through it. 4th - the blanket that went over top of it had 10-15 holes in it. 5th - pillows were wore out and were only a inch and a half thick 6th - when we called the next day to complain, we got the run around that 1st the manager wasn't in, and the 2nd time we called, they said that the computers were down. WHATEVER YOU DO STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE. Please dont stay here. DIRTY, ROCHES, NO CLEAN BEDING, PUBES IN THE SHOWER WALLS, PAPER THIN WALLS
"Pass this one up"
We stayed here to attend SIU Orientation. The location was great. The first room they gave us couldn't open with any key. They sent someone down to help open the room. He was unsuccessful so got us in to a different room. I'm hoping that this room was not supposed to be occupied. It was kind of nasty. The side of the TV was smashed in, there was no […] clock or hair dryer, no toiletries. The shower was completely defective. There was a huge hunk of wood sticking out of the side of the bottom of the bed. Overall a very tacky accommodation. We will not be staying here again. Continua a leggere
"I didn't know they could build walls this thin."
The only reason to ever stay here would be if you are checking in late, leaving early and just need a place to TRY to sleep and take a shower. Basic is an understatement. We arrived about 10:30 and had to ring a buzzer to wake the clerk up in the back. It's right on the main street thru town, and you can literally hear the tires on the road all night. […] Room wasn't really dirty, but it wasn't nice. It's cheap and you get what you pay for. It was ok for a quick one night stay, but certainly wouldn't want to stay any longer. The employees were very nice and curteous. There was suppose to be coffee available from 7-10 am, but the lobby did not open until 8:00....There was no internet access available like they advertised, that is a necessary serivce in today's world.

"America's "Best" Value Hotel"
This hotel is not a good one. I was invited late to be a guest/speaker for a Southern Illinois University group during Homecoming. This was one of the few places left with vacancy. It's no surprise why either. I did not have high expectations but this place was a disaster. Pulling back the comfortable revealed an unmade bed, and only one sheet (no fitted […] sheet or blanket). The television did not work (it did not even turn on). The room became warm and I turned on the AC before I left. When I returned the housekeeper had shut the AC off so my room was hot.
