Checking in, the staff was friendly and the facility seemed modern and clean. The one of two luggage carts that was available for my use was broke and had to be lifted on one side to go forward straight. Getting off of the elevator onto the third floor I was greeted by a wall of unpleasant cigarette smoke odor. I entered my room which also reaked of […] cigarette smoke. The bathroom was clean and I was comfortable using it, the walls light switches and plug in's were filthy dirty and I really didn't want to touch them. The bed was old but surprising comfortable. The comforter was old/ragged and on the underside had brown stains on it. I pulled the comforter off the bed and through it in the corner. The rest of the bed was clean just reaked of cigarettes. I did not feel comfortable touching the dishes left in the cabinets. The refrigerator was clean and I used it minimally. So I went to Target came back with Febreeze and Febreezed the room and after bottle two and eight hours of airing out while I was at class, I returned to a decent smelling room. But on cleaning day, I'm pretty sure the housekeeper was smoking in the room as afterword it took most of a third bottle of febreeze to clean douch the room again. The hotel staff that I encountered were half friendly out of the three staff members I seen on my 15 day stay two pleasantly greeted you and one just ignored anyone was moving in front of the desk. Usually I mumbled underneath my breath to the particular one something about needing "friendly lessons." The room was not modern on top of it, the blinds were filthy dirty and yes smelled of smoke. Pretty sure my request was for a non-smoking room and was going to ask for an exchange in rooms but really didn't think they had a room that didn't reak of smoke. The carpet could have used a shampooing as well. I've stayed at Extended Stays before but were newer and if I return to an Extended Stay it will be a newer one and a smoke free one. The room furniture was badly torn. The chair was broken when i sat in it i almost fell. The towels were old and hard.Something in the carpet kept bitting my foots?maybe carpets bugs???I had to hold the toliet handle to flush it.The pillows on my bed were flat and the linen smell like someone had already slept on it.It was a really sleepless night and […] very poorly room.Also i had a non-smoking and it smelled like smoke.Also the elevator carpeting looks badly.Poor choice of hotel. This location is tired and in need of a major overhaul, or a top to bottom cleaning at the very least. The staff was pleasant and accomodating, but there is only so much they can do. This hotel was not for me, and I will pass it by next time I need to stay in the area.

The ad was misleading and the hotel lobby did not have a bathroom or a resturant when we arrived had to go to the Hoilday Inn next door to use the bathroom and get something to eat. The room was not ready but we did arrive early. The room was musty smelling and the tub was not clean and there was stuff under the bed, a draw was broke. But the staff […] was very nice and accommadating. Had I know there was no room service or housekeeping I probably would not have chose the hotel. The reasoning was that I did have a smoking room. I guess for smokers there are a lot of chooses. But the reason for the visit was that my grandson was graduating from Great Lakes Naval base and the graduation was the main reason and the good did out weigh the bad and in life you can't have everything Continua a leggere

This Motel was very conviently located to shopping food and entertainment. Very clean rooms and staff even called an hour after check in to make sure everything was ok.Overall I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice place to stay

the Beds were extremely hard. Very uncomfortable

We were in Chicago for a family event and this hotel was selected by another member of the party. The location was convenient for our events, and it was nice to be with our entire party, but the hotel was very basic and not clean. With all the news recently about bed bugs, we checked for that first thing. The good news was no bed bugs, but the sheets […] were filthy. We removed all of them (including pillow cases) and took them to the front desk where we were given a set of sheets--which we had to put on ourselves. The kitchen also wasn't very clean and the sink had no stopper. The kitchen is not really a separate room and the refrigerator was so loud, we had to turn it off at night in order to sleep. There are no amenities in the room except soap, not even a hair dryer. The front desk has one (yes, just one) that can be borrowed. Some of our rooms had irons, but some didn't. Only one of the four rooms had coffee for the coffee maker. None had dish washing liquid--small packets were available at the front desk. We have stayed at other Extended Stay America hotels and had much better experiences. I cannot recommend this one. Continua a leggere

this hotel was so uncomfortable, I checked out a day early. the front desk attendants are very unprofessional and need a good lesson in customer service.

The room was filthy (long dark hairs everywhere, and I'm bald) but it did the job. I was in town for a friends wedding, and the location was pretty good for the price. Target was right around the way, so that was a plus as well. The hotel ran out of toilet paper. Really. C'mon son. The sheets had holes in them, and were pretty scratchy. I stayed at […] another extended stay a few months back, i'm pretty sure this one hadn't been refaced- yet or ever. Overall, stay away! Spend the extra $$$ and get yourself a much better place. The area surrounding the hotel was nice. It was near a main road with plenty of restaurants, gas stations, etc. It is centrally located in the Chicago Metro Area and is right next to a highway. This made travel to anywhere in the area easy. The one complaint is that they were doing maintanance on the hotel's water pipes. It was noisy in the morning […] and we did not have water in our room until 1PM. There was no note or even an advance warning about this maintanance given at check-in. The hotel was good for what we paid for it. Upon entering the room, it smelled like someone had just checked out. We had to go and buy a plug-in to get rid of the smell. The comforter also had an odor which we requested to be replaced with a clean one. We had no housekeeping service since we were not there for longer than a week, but we were already […] aware of this before we booked the hotel; we came equipped with our own cleaning supplies in case we needed them. The front-desk however gives you anything that you may need. The plus about the hotel was that it is literally right by the highway that takes you downtown to all of the attractions. Traveling downtown was about roughly a 20-30 minute drive with all of the traffic. We eventually ended up using the trains after the first day which saved time and money. Train transportation is near the hotel as well. The surrounding area was very nice and quiet and had everything that you may need: gas, department stores, food, etc. Extremely pleased about that. The main gripe I have is that the water was shut off on our day of check-out. We had to run from faucet to faucet to round up any water that we could. That cause a major inconvenience. While the room was clean, the lock on the door was almost coming out of the wood. The toilet made rather strange sounds before it flushed and the toaster burned on one side of each piece of toast! The neighborhood was probably the biggest downfall, as there weren't any restaurants besides fast-food within 2-3 miles of the hotel. It was conveniently […] located off the highway, but very few amenities offered. There wasn't a comfortable sitting area outside the room either. Overall it was close to my conference so that was the most important thing and the rate I received was very good for Chicago. But don't stay if you're looking to do much besides sleep! The room smelled. it was a non smoking room and it smelled stale. I had to geo buy Lysol to spray in the room. It helped for a while but before the night was over. Stale again.

The purpose of my hotel reservation was to have a place to freshen up before a night on the town. However the room had a smell, the televisionwas old, sound would disappear and you had to tap it for the sound to return. The bathroom sink had mold around thr edge.

I liked the fact that it had a supplied kitchenette. I would have thought it would have more channels. It has Dish so when it stormed there were a few tv outages. The lights had difficulty turning on, you'd turn on the switch and it was like a short circuit. I had to hit it on the wall a few times to get it to come on. Upon check in they did not give […] me the code for the internet so I had to call to get it. You have to go down to change out your towels. I also didn't like the fact that housekeeping only comes once every 7 days. Overall, it was ok for the hotels.com price. Continua a leggere

Great "value" hotel for money, will stay again. Minor maintainece issues e.g. blown lights, squeaky beds and flat pillows, worn out remote for TV and jelly beans under nightstand from previous guess.

This hotel was well worth the price we paid. I thought the hotel staff was quite friendly. If you need a mini kitchen and an affordable room this hotel works. I was not too fond of the bed. If you sit on the end of it to put in tour shoue it would flip up, plus it was sqeeking quite a bit.

Hotels.com listed that there would be a pet fee for staying with a dog, however did not specify the amount. Since this hotel was one of the cheaper in the area i decided to go with it anyway. The pet fee turned out to be almost half the room rate! for that amount I could have stayed in a much nicer hotel that allowed pets outright. On top of that the […] hotel clerk was rude, and the desk is not staffed after 11. Glad I got there at 10:55 or else I would not have been able to check in. Won't stay here again. Continua a leggere
