Overall shuttle service was definitely not as expected. The airport shuttle service is provided by an outside vendor. Our wait for pick up at airport to hotel was very...long but our scheduled hotel to airport was efficient. Don't stay here during baseball season, we paid for a suite, confirmed the room and ended up with a regular room, no adjustment in cost, no nothing. The area was sold out and they knew it and didnt care! Find someplace else!,,

We booked the hotel as a base during our 4 day stay for Spring Training. It was a nice hotel. It was just a few miles from the main ballparks we wanted. So far, so good. They had free breakfast, and cookies and popcorn in the afternoon. Better. However, there were little details not taken care of. The shuttle did not show to get people to the airport, […] they had to call a cab. The keycards stopped working for the exercise room and the back door. Then there was the lack of housekeeping in our room. The room was made up when we go there, it was not made up the next day, so we sat in the breakfast room for a half hour so a maid could get new towels in and make the beds. The next day-we never even saw a maid, and our room, and the one across the hall were never made at all. I had to go get a few towels and toilet paper from the front desk. Organization seems to be the major thing lacking. Otherwise it was a nice hotel, and I will probably give them another try next year. Hopefully, they will have these issues ironed out by then. Toilets and shower ran poorly, someone else complained too about the toilet backing up. Place was severely understaffed, the guy at the front was not only checking people in on a friday afternoon by himself, but he was answering phone calls and checking room cleanliness at the same time! Went to Tempe for Spring Training. Hotel is about 5 miles from Angels stadium easy to get to. Breakfast is not great and was slow to fill empty items. One day left for day and came back with room not fully cleaned and door latch to room on so door was left unlocked and slightly open all day ( thank goodness nothing was missing). I booked this hotel for the night of my son's wedding because of the convenence of taking the shuttle to the airport the next morning to fly off for their honeymoon. I booked it on line, 5 days before their reservation I stopped in and talked with the front desk clerk just to verify the reservation and to let the hotel know it is their wedding night. […] She was very enthusiastic about them staying there and said she would talk to the manager about maybe getting some complimentary flowers or wine or a fruit basket put in the room as a surprise. They arrived that Saturday evening and got to the room with no hassles or difficulties, but when his new bride finished her shower, she found no bath towels in the room, A call to the front desk and they said they would have some there shortly. After 30 minutes, my son went down to the desk and asked about the towels and was handed three bath towels and was told "here you go". They also found that the pillows in the room were feather pillows, which my new daughter in law is quite allergic to...again to the front desk only to be told the hotel carries no other pillows other than feather. My son pointed out that no where on their web site does it mention this fact. I am sure there have been others that stayed there and have allergic reactions to feather pillows...why would the hotel NOT carry any other kind of pillows. Needless to say, they slept with pillows that first night. They did say the breakfast was good and the shuttle was on time and got them to the airport on time. I heard about all this a week after it happened (when they returned from their honeymoon) and felt terrible for booking this hotel. I have had co workers stay at this hotel and my company even has a discounted rate with them (NOT for this stay,,,I wasn't staying there and don't think it is right to try to extend any discounts to family members). I stayed here on Christmas Eve. The staff was very friendly. They didn't have a shuttle to pick me up from the airport but paid for a cab. The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was unexpectedly upgraded. Finally, the breakfast was super with lots of choices and fresh food. We were attending our Daughter's ASU graduation. The Hotel was just like coming home each night. The bed was great the the other amenities were wonderful. The breakfast was very good and always warm and plentiful. We will stay here again I am sure.

People were so nice and helpful. Breakfast is nice too. The bathroom needed repair and made showering difficult. There was also a very unpleasant odor in the hallway that did not dissipate the entire 20 hrs. we were there. Convenient location tho.

We chose this hotel to stay at for 1 night for my hubby's Christmas Party (we live on the other side of the valley), for the money it was great! Newly renovated bathroom and the bed was comfortable. Shower water pressure was great. They offered a free shuttle to Tempe Marketplace so we didn't have to worry about driving. It is close to the airport so […] there is plane noise, and the view of the storage unit behind it was not great but not a big deal. Breakfast was decent. The guy at the front desk was very helpful. Desk clerk was very helpful

We stayed here at the beginning & end of our trip. Staff friendly & helpful. Ice machine on 3rd floor didn't work on our last day. Pool very nice. We watched airlplanes overhead the whole time we were swimming. Breakfast ok-small selection-milk was not cold-just cool. We asked about it & were told it was plenty cold.

The hotel is convenient to the airport and major highways, and getting to any necessities is really easy as well. Room was very large, bed was nice, everything was clean and in good shape. Air conditioner was a bit on the loud side, and airport noise was pretty noticeable, but quieter than expected when staying near a major airport.

Air Conditioner in the room wa not working. When I told the front desk I was told that it was no one on staff to check the AC. Around 3 am I began getting sick because of the heat the front desk clerk gave us another room which was much cooler. I have stayed at several Country Inn's by Carlson, and this property was not up to the others' standards. The front desk was not very friendly, although we checked in quite late, so maybe they were tired. We were given a handicap room, which is fine, considering the increased space/size of the room. However, we were stuck down at the last room in the […] hot hallway on floor 1, next to the housekeeping dept. rooms, with one window facing a strip club and the other facing the parking lot. The black out curtains were holey, letting in alot of light, the furniture was really beat up, the bed was hard as a rock, we didn't realize that planes would be flying over so close as they did, and that trains as they went by somewhere close would blast their horns so frequently in the wee hours of the morning. We would have asked to be moved but we were exhausted from a long drive, our bad. We won't stay there the next time we are in Tempe, there are several better choices. Continua a leggere

It is a comfortable hotel, especially because it is close to the airport, only say overnight to catch a flight the nest day. The free schedule to the airport was important for us since we flew in the night before and had to fly again in the morning. The breakfast was good.

A 2.5 star motel is a 2.5 star motel. It is what it is. But the staff were exceptionally friendly. My husband and I recently stayed in the Country Inn & Suites in Tempe, AZ for a week. The room was fine, and we were surprised that we did not hear more airplane and traffic noise from inside the room, considering the close location to a freeway and Skyharbor airport incoming flight path. The close proximity to ASU was important to us, but the most […] pleasant surprise was the close walk and/or drive to the wonderful Papago park, location to numerous hiking trails and the enjoyable Phoenix zoo. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Moved us to three different rooms to get us exactly where we wanted to be. Very nice breakfast each morning, and the ladies who ran that were eager to please and friendly. Our only complaint, was the pool water was a bit green for much of our stay. I overhead a maintance worker say to another that they had shocked the pool. Also, airport noise from constant incoming airplanes made for an outdoor area that was too loud for telephone conversations. If we return again to Tempe, we will definately return here. I found this place when my daughter was a freshman iat ASU. Cheap, clean and close to campus and the airport (shuttle anytime) made this a great value for the price. The people were nice and helpful, breakfast wasnt; bad for hotel breakfast's but the best thing is its close to campus and easy to get around. Worth the low price!

Description of hotel when I booked it shows 2 double beds with sofa bed but when we arrived there I discovered that sofa bed is only available with one queen size bed. This property is way smaller than the one we stayed at in Orlando, Florida. The worst part of our stay is when housekeeping did not service our room for the 2days and 3 nights we were […] there. The first day my husband even went to the front desk to make sure. The second day I saw the t housekeeper at the hallway on our way to the pool. Requested if room can be cleaned while we were gone. She said yes but was not done when we came back . She knocked at the door while my daughter who just finished taking a shower was still changing so I told her we will be out of the room in 10 minutes. Of course when we came back the room was not serviced again. And also while we were at the pool, there were not enough towels. I called front desk but no towels arrive. so we ended up sharing towels.Free breakfast is just okey that is why it is free. The eggs look and taste nasty. When I checked out I was not even asked about how my stay was although I mentioned about how our room was not cleaned. Robert did not care and was not the least apologetic. Good hotel. Would stay again because of the great breakfast and free shuttle anywhere within a 4 mile distance ;)

Nice hotel with a fair price. Continental breakfast was marginal. Fair amount of noise from the airport and freeway. Little concerned when we first pulled up and there is a "Gentlemans Club" across the street, but you really didn't notice it.

Although my coffee maker (in my room) was missing parts, breakfast was ready when I came downstairs. Also, a USA Today was complimentary as were candies in a bowl. The shuttle driver was cordial and seemed surprised by my tip.

great hotel near ASU, Tempe and the scottsdale area. very clean and well kept. the amenities were plenty: heated pool, exercise room, tremendous breakfast and nice snacks like cookies coffee and popcorn.

Nice staff & good location to get around area. Good breakfast & accomodating airport shuttle service. Clean & quiet. Plenty of parking.

Recently stayed three nights. Very near freeway (202) but not noisy. Breakfast OK. Bed fairly comfortable.

WONDERFUL HOTEL!!!!! Great location, SUPER HUGE ROOMS, smelled clean! Free shuttle to nearby locations! Would love to stay here again!

We enjoyed are stay and felt very welcome.

The front desk staff lacks the courtesy that guests deserve and the free breakfast was so gross I wouldn't feed to my worse enemy! I would not stay here if there are other choices around the area!

The property is very close to ASU. You will need a car though. It is a clean property and more affordable than what is available closer to the campus.
