Nixe Palace Hotel - Palma di Majorca 39.55213, 2.60717

Nice hotel though quite expensive and the breakfast at e23 each v expensive. Great views and the beach was the highlight. We arrived to our Premium sea view room (without balcony) to smell smoke. On complaining they sorted it quickly and we were moved to a better and bigger room though most seem quite cramped. Nice spa but only used on last day so if going don't make that mistake and if you can afford to get a balcony with your sea view! a 20 min bus ride into Palma worked well for restaurants etc though didnt realise Hotel was as far out of Palma (its in Cala Mayor) from other reviews and marketing.

hotel is very nice, great view and beach, not great surrounds, and not walking distance to excellent port/marina. exchange rate has killed europe for us this year, £11 for barcardi and coke in hotel, £10 for a great pint of guiness and barcardi and coke in guiness bar across the road [which still allows smoking inside?] Breakfast and £25 [£25euros] each is obviously a joke, we had two full breakfasts, coffee, newspapers, fresh orange for £7 total 100 yards from the hotel door. overall.....excellent if your wallet can take it

Went for a January weekend city break to Palma and stayed at the Nixe. I thought for a 5 star the hotel would be a little more plush, its very basic compared other 5 star hotels I've stayed in and comparable I think to a good 3 star or average 4 star. Gym was tiny and consisted of a few cardio machines and few free weights. The spa was quite basic too: Jacuzzi, steam room (that wasn't working!) and 6 novel heated wooden loungers which were quite nice. We only ate once at the hotel bar and were glad as our 2 steak/cheese baguettes and 2 soft drinks came to EUR35!! There's better value to be had either locally (a leisure complex 15mins away) and in Town where enjoyed a reasonably priced Paella complete with starters & a cheeky bottle of rioja for about EUR65. We drank at the hotel bar one night, quite pricey, be advised there is an English owned pub just over the road. Hotel has a small beach just to the rear and great views along the coast and isn't that far from Palma town centre (we walked in on the 1st day in about 50mins as weather was good) and also caught the No 3 bus which was as regular as clockwork!! I'd recommend this hotel if you're taking a break in Palma because its close enough to the town centre (10mins on the bus, caught just up the road) but also far enough out that you can enjoy some solitude and/or beach action if that’s your bag and I think there were some golf courses nearby too. Just dont expect opulence because you'll be disappointed!!

nice clean room but small, bathroom and facilities very good

The hotel had a great view of the ocean and easy access to the public beach which was great. However, I feel the room was a bit overpriced and cheaper hotels around ours had the same view and same access to the beach. The cleanliness of the room was subpar for a 5-star hotel as they had some bugs in the bathrooms and toiletries weren't always refilled without asking. On the positive side the food at the hotel was very good especially the enormous breakfast buffet. Overall its great for access to the beach but I think overpriced.

A very good location but this hotel is certainly not 5 star in my opinion. Great view of the sea from pool area is the most positive thing I could say. The room (standard room without sea view) was fairly basic but clean (4 star at best) and only one English speaking TV channel was working (BBC, SKY and MTV all not working). Music and internet were chargeable. The cost to listen to a single album was 5 euros which I thought was extortionate. Also pricey was the food and drinks at the poolside bar. Give the chicken BLT a miss too unless you like hidden bone chips in your bacon and gristle in your chicken. We subsequently chose not to sample the expensive dinner or breakfast menu's. The checking in and out process was overly convoluted. Any sports fans should be aware that reception staff did not know the area well. They directed us the 4-5km to Palma to watch the England match even though the English owned "Office Bar" directly across the road was showing the game! Fortunately we noticed the game was showing there before getting a taxi.

Mycket trivsamt hotell, väldigt bra med strand utanför dörren. Utmärkt service! Dyrt med frukost och restaurangbesök på hotellet.

Hotel Nixe Palace Hotellet är beläget i området Cala Major, precis intill en jättefin sandstrand med rent och långgrunt vatten. Hotellet har en större och en mindre utomuspool intill en bar som gör dyra men utsökta Caipiriñas.I botten av hotellet finns en spa-anläggning där man kan få allehanda behandlingar till en dyr peng. Lyckligtvis är det fritt för hotellets gäster att fritt utnyttja en (fantastisk) del av spat. Här finns uppvärmda avslappningsbänkar, krossad is att kyla ner kroppen med, olika typer av duschar (vad sägs om citrus mist?), ångbastu med kallvattensfontän, bassäng med en rad olika typer av massagestrålar och sköna vattenstrålar samt en stor bubbelpool. Jätteskönt att smita ner i en skön morgonrock efter en solig dag på terrassen/stranden. Utsikten över Medelhavet är helt sagolik. Rummen som vätter mot havet har fina terrasser. Hotellrummen är stora och jättetrevliga. Här finns gott om förvaringsutrymmen och ett stort badrum. Servicen är förstklassig. Hotellet har ett antal restauranger och priserna varierar men är aldrig billiga. Frukosten kostar ex. 25 euro per dag och person (18 om man köper för hla vistelsen). Hotellet ligger cirka en halvmil från Palma centrum. Enklast är att ta sig in till stan är med taxi (Mellan 10-15 euro) eller buss (1,25 euro). Linje 3 tar cirka 20-30 minuter in till centrum beroende på var man vill kliva av. I Cala Major finns ett stort antal restauranger och pubar i området. Inga kanonkrogar, men helt okej.

Första gången på länge som ett hotel faktist lever upp till den standard som presenteras på Internet. Mysig och fin strand, bra att bada för både vuxna o barn. Den lilla restaurangen POPA längst ner i hotellet hade helt fantastisk mat och mycket prisvärt. Otroligt hjälpsamma i receptionen och bistron jättegullig personal. Endast en o annan som kanske skulle valt ett annat yrke...

Super godt beliggende hotel, dog ikke særligt interessant område omkring hotellet. Super strand og vand - alt for lille pool, der var defekt 3 af 10 dage
