Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort and Spa Paradise Valley

The room/hotel was beautiful upon arriving. Day 1 was great. After that, we had to continually call for clean glasses, towels, coffee mugs, etc. Our room was never cleaned until at least 4 pm. The hotel was great - housekeeping was terrible on a daily basis.

Dont normally write reviews but this hotel was a bit oversold. Its an older place converted to a hotel. It lacks compared to the beautiful mega-resorts like the Phoenician or Princess. Overpriced for what it is. Housekeeping staff was awful... Had to keep after them to clean the room. The plus sides are the old bungalows are like having your own little […] apartment. And you drive up to about half of them and park versus the mega resorts where you have to walk a mile to your room. Continua a leggere

Absolutely first rate spa and resort. The staff were incredible, very friendly and accommodating yet not overbearing. Pool And pool staff were terrific, fitness facilities just right and the spa was great; had the 90 minute hot stone message which I highly recommend. My wife and I will definitely return!

Close to the Echo Canyon Trail for a great day hike that gives panoramic views of Scottsdale and Paradise Valley, plus lots of great people on the trail. Check your fitness level first or go with a friend for sure - bring water and be prepared for some scrambling. Relax at the pool or spa afterwards with fantastic service. The view (poolside and terrain) […] is usually superior. No cell phones allowed!! The restaurant offers a wide selection of great food as well at all meals...be careful not to hit a Ferrari or Bentley n the parking lot tho! LOL The room and service were among some of the nicest of the resorts I have stayed including Europe, Central America and Asia. Friendly, helpful staff...almost overwhelmed me but are respectful of the Do Not Disturb signs if you use them. Overall, a great place to stay and relax with easy access to PHX and Scottsdale for business or pleasure. The pool and hot tub are open 24 hours and always a great temperature...probbably wouldn't recommend as a first choice for kids, but singles or couples will enjoy, especially if you like to be pampered. This was the first time that my husband & I visited Arizona and I have to tell you that this hotel and was top notch. Our room was awesome. Service amazing. We would wake up early and attend an exercise class everyday. The fitness facilities are many and the staff- well - they are beyond what I expected. Always helpful, attentive and sooooo nice. This resort is beautiful, enjoyed the infinity pool, the privateness of the hotel. Stayed in their Gold room and it was an amazing experience. Hotel staff were great, very romantic weekend. Would absolutely recommend this resort.

Great stay - just a little problem with AC, but after that was fixed, all was good.

Best service from any hotel I've ever been to. Room service brings you ice and water twice a day.

My girlfriend and I stayed for two nights over Memorial Day weekend and enjoyed it very much. The room was modern and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. There wasn't a whole lot for us to do other than hang out in the room since we weren't interested in the spa or other activities, but that's the way we wanted it. The Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort and Spa met and exceeded our expectations. We "truly" felt as if our Mountain Villa was our own. all together, it made for a not so great getaway. AC didn't work, dirty rags left by housekeeping, dusty furniture, food orders were off, dirty glasses left by front door for 16 hours... This was my first stay at Sanctuary. Overall the experience was quite pleasant. Beautiful room, nice, though highly vertical, grounds and a great staff. Breakfast one day was a disaster and the wireless Internet service was eccentric and spotty But these were minor issues. I would definitely return. It is not a place to bring the kids, though.

The Spa and restaurant were very good. The staff is very nice, service is excellent. We stayed in a Mountain Casita. They all have adjoining walls and there was a lot of noise from the adjoining room. We did ask to be moved away from a couple that brought small children, and the hotel was accommodating, but they put us in a room which shared a wall […] with the service closet, which was accessed all hours of day and night. I totally loved this resort. My room was great, the food was great and the customer service was exceptional. I loved it!!! The spa was really nice to. The resort was expensive but well worth it.

We loved our one night stay. BEAUTIFUL setting, gorgeous pool, very friendly staff, overall lovely! We would love to return to the Sanctuary. Great spa, and facilities.

Great location, great staff, great food...what more can i say!....:-)

This is one of the most beautiful pools in Scottsdale. The restaurant is very good. The barmen are amazing and extremely creative.

Everything about this hotel was fabulous. The staff couldn't have been nicer. Hotel room was beautiful and modern. Pool / Spa was great. Mountain views were breathtaking. Favorite part was the resort was intimate, not overly packed with a million guests. Didn't want to leave and can't wait to go back.

We realize it was off-season and the guest count wasn't that high, but from the pool staff to the restauarant staff to housekeeping. Everyone was on their "A" game and I was impressed with how dialed in the entire experience was.

Stayed for July 4th. Great room, quiet, upscale. Nice pool, laid back but calming with just enough eye candy. Drinks were expensive, but this was to be expected. I did not eat at Elements, but spoke to people who did and enjoyed it. Overall a great place to stay in Scottsdale - just 5 minutes from the main shopping areas.

The property in general is very nice, the service and all employees were very helpful, courteous and nice...we upgraded to one of the suites which was huge and had beautiful views. The suites are the only way to get a balcony, which is too bad...we definitely didn't need the extra space. Our main issue was with food...breakfast was a total letdown; […] this might change as I think they are still redoing the restaurant. The buffet was mediocre, and you have to pay extra if you want eggs or waffles...and they charge PER waffle, it's not a buffet. Nothing in the buffet was warm. Everything we had for lunch and dinner was good, but the choices are somewhat limited in comparison to other places we've been. The grounds are nice, though it seems outdoor seating areas are a bit limited - which, if you don't have a balcony, kind of stinks. Continua a leggere

The hotel is nice, but it is not what you would expect of a 5 star hotel. Kelly, at the front desk was very helpful, but no one else went out of thier way to make my stay special. When I made the reservation for dinner at Elements, which is supposed to be one of the top restaurants in the US, they asked if we were celebrating anything special. I said […] yes, my anniversary. They never mentioned it, brought out desert or a drink on the house or anything. When I called the next day, they said the waiter "should have done something." But that was it. It is also very hilly, though no one offered us a ride in one of the many golf carts they have sitting out front that the staff ride around in!! Continua a leggere

Had the best, most relaxing time I have ever had at a hotel!!! I highly recommend this hotel!!!

Other than the leaf blower guy that seemed to keep blowing the same leaves (near the pool that I was trying to relax at), I loved this hotel; beautiful scenery and the customer service was outstanding. I will be returning.

What a fantastic place to stay. I was treated like a King and I was staying in the cheapest room in the resort. The whole resort is just breathtaking, the views and the top notch staff. There is not another 5 star in Phoenix that offer complimentary continental breakfast and wireless internet. What a deal!!

This hotel is secluded, peaceful, and quiet. Truly a sanctuary! The spa and fitness center are exceptional. I recommend the spa casita rooms over the mountain casita rooms since the spa casita rooms are newer and nicer. It is definitely worth it to pay the extra cost to stay in a spa casita room.

We absolutely loved our 4 night get away at the Sanctuary. It is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. You will not be disappointed. The service at the pool was excellent. Plus they turned down the sheets each night, lit the candles, turned on soft music...very romantic. It was more than we expected.

This is a real nice quiet hotel in a very secluded area. The mountain views behind the casitas were terrific.

This resort is genuinely a sanctuary. Located indiscreetly at the base of Camelback Moutain, with a terrific view of the Praying Monk rock formation, and centrally located to excellent shopping and dining choices. The Sanctuary is unique. The views take your breath away. It is a wonderful place to unwind and recharge.

I recently stayed at this hotel with a few of my girlfriends and we had the best time! The staff was friendly and always helpful. The spa and the facilities were outstanding. We ate at elements restaurant everyday because the food was fantastic! I would highly recommend this hotel.
