I only stay at 5 star hotels, but was truly surprised how amazing the service was here. Super friendly people at the pool, the valet parking, the restaurants. Loved the quick water taxi to the Universal parks (runs from 6 am to 2 am). Your room key is a must perk to get express pass (short lines) on all the rides except Harry Potter Forbidden Journey. […] BUt, that ride has a 2 hour wait almost all day long except ... you can get around that by enjoying the 1 hour early entry to the Universal Studios Islands of Adventure park only for guests of the onsite Loews hotels. This totally saved us! We went to the park on the 6:30 am water taxi everyday, walked right in the park when it opened at 7 am, and enjoyed the park to ourselves with no lines for a couple of hours! It was awesome and best perk of staying at Portofino. THe pools at the hotel were also really great, lots of nice soft quality lounge chairs with pads, and generous 3 towels per person, even set up for you by the pool guys. Never a problem getting a chair. They brought cold towels around to guests at the pool, and even free frozen grapes at the pool on the hot day. WOW! It also really felt like an italian hotel, most guests were not American, so fun to hear the many foreign languages spoken. I give this hotel a big 5 star rating, and I am usually hard to please. Will return again for sure. Only complaint, no way they should be charging for the wifi at $15 per day, per device ( our party of 4had 4 iphones, an ipad, and a laptop), so that adds up to $90 per day!! I just think that wifi should be included when paying 5 star hotel fees. Continua a leggere

I was not very impressed with the hotel. There were few staff. Had to wait 25 minutes to get spare key. 45 minutes to get room service ( Omlete) for $40. They only have 1 charging station for a Mac book or I phone. And it is at the front desk. So bring your own. Staff not friendly. They seemed over worked. And the hotel was empty.

Wonderful stay! Thank you for making our Universal experience one that we'll always remember!

Like you are in Italy. Beautiful property, nice rooms, convenience to Universal theme park and took 2 night stay. We'd go back again definitely.

We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful from the front desk to the waiters to the cleaning staff. Our room was nice with a king bed, large bathroom and a small balcony overlooking the garden. The hotel is laid out very nicely between the restaurants, pools and guest rooms. The transporation between the hotel to the two Universal Parks and […] the Citywalk is very convenient. The room card also works as an ExpressPass inside of the parks which is a HUGE perk. Loved the ambiance. The food at Momma Dellas was absolutely spectacular. The courtesy of the staff rivaled hotels I have stayed at that were twice as expensive. I will definitely stay at the Portofino again!!!

We stayed at the Loew's Portofino in Orlando, FL this month for my daughter's 16th birthday for a week. It had great service and was so convenient to Universal Studio and Ile of Adventure Parks. Amazing hotel located very conveniently to the Universal theme parks. Great room and dining options. Pools were great for the kids. Loved our stay and would definitely go again!

We had another great stay at the Portofino Bay Hotel. We also stayed there a year ago. Both times we were so impressed with the service and comfort of the hotel. The rooms and beds are clean and very comfortable including the pull out sofa bed (which is unusual). The bathroom is quite impressive and I love the bathtub. We stayed in a deluxe room which […] gave the four of us (couple with two teenage children) plenty of room. The hotel room was done early when we checked in and we got in right away. The best part is that while you are visiting the Universal park and return to the hotel that you feel like you have a place to get away from the hustle and bustle and can actually relax. We enjoyed Sal's marketplace which has good food (we all liked the pizza and we are a bit picky about pizza) along with the gelato (very good!) next door. My husband and I were able to relax at night listening to live music with bottles of Peroni overlooking the gentle waves coming into the piazza from the Thirsty Fish bar. Another great stay! I have stayed here twice. I would not stay anywhere else. The service and food are great and my kid loves the pool. I would definately recommend this Hotel if you are planning a trip to Universal Studios.

Very nice hotel! The a/c is controlled by the hotel so if you like a cooler room you need to have them adjust the temp. The best part of the stay was the fast pass to the front of the line at Universal.

Portofino Bay is a beautiful city in itself - it's just like being in a little Italian village. Everything one could possibly need is on the property. All of the staff members are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a bit larger than some and are quite comfortable. As far as the food goes, there are several Italian-themed restaurants at the resort, […] but the food is just ok. Being Italian myself, I've had better and for a much lower cost. Mama Della's is described as being "family-style" when in fact it is not. Portions are individual and not large enough to share at the table. This was a bit misleading. Since this hotel is on Universal property, there is free transportation to the parks. The ferry leaves every 20 min., and it's a neat, scenic ride to Universal. Another great perk is that you can skip the regular lines at the parks by showing your room key. Bottom line: if you're looking for luxury, convenience, and a beautiful peaceful stay, then I would highly recommend staying at Portofino Bay. Continua a leggere

Portofino was wonderful. We went on vacation to go to Universal Studios, so the location was perfect. It was within east walking distance to both parks, though there was also a boat shuttle that would take you to the parks (which left every 15 minutes). By staying on site we also go early admission to the parks which was a great help in beating the […] lines. Your room key was also your express pass at the parks so you could jump most of the lines, and the key could also be used at the parks to charge your expenses to your room. The staff was incredibly pleasant no matter what time of day and were most helpful. Hotel also had a good choice of restaurants on site, and live performances around the bay. Continua a leggere

Outstanding service and comfort. Once inside the resort, you feel you were visiting a small italian village. It brought back memories of our trip to Italy. We are looking forward to our next visit.jm

The room was excellent. Idea of the theme is nice but details of execution detracted. The Italian village looks great from a distance but painted facades instead of real architectural elements take away the illusion before you get very close. And up close broken shutters and other lapses made it seem too much like a set about to be struck.

We were very pleased with our first visit to the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel and would definitely stay there again. The restaurants, accommodations and amenities were all First Class. The convenience of the water taxi to the Universal Studios park and the opportunity for early admission to the park really made our stay special.

Eveything was good. Only complaint was that we asked for the bellman and he did not come to take our bags upon checkout. They seemed a little bit understaffed given the size of this hotel. Everything was great besides that.

I didn't like the down pillows provided. They have no support & all the down traveled to the back leaving my neck & head unsupported and aching.

This is the perfect place to go and not have to worry about anything! We were there for 2.5 days and never left. The spa was amazing! The pool and cabana service were top notch. The restaurants service and quality of the food could not have been better! From the minute we arrived the minute we left there were smiles on every employees face. The shower was too small. There also was a roach in our room. Other than that the hotel was amazing. The fact that you don't have to drive anywhere was great. Over all we lived it.

This could have been a great stay, but some issues caused it not to be. The property is amazing, our bay view was beautiful, and we loved the river boat to universal. However we checked in and our room smelled like someone was smoking in the room and there was trash outside our door (looked like room service stuff.) Per the bell hop's suggestion we […] turned on the air to see if it would air out. Well it didn't. We got up in the morning (trash still outside our room.) We left a note with room service (along with a tip,) asking them if they could spry something or do something to help with the smell. We got back that evening and the tip was gone but the smell was still there. As we checked out they tried to charge us for stuff that we never used (in fact the fridge was in a locked cabinet so we couldn't even if we wanted to. We were told that room service found wrappers and assumed that we took them from them from the hotel. In summary the grounds and atmosphere was wonderful but sometimes a few small things can ruin everything. Continua a leggere

This hotel offers great surprises for couples with a secluded jacazzi with waterfalls and pool with fun slide. Watch the sunset from the court yard and then go to City Walk for the entertainment.

Not at all accomadating for the handicapped. Very understaffed. Room service charges $4.50 for a can of soda. And the only reason we ordered room service is because half their restaurants were closed. They closed the pools early. The bars had one bartender and a mile long line. our 2 day experience was fantastic. the hotel is located in a great spot, universal and island of adventure are a short boat ride away. the outlets are a 5 minute drive with traffic. the hotel offers excellent food, a great work out and spa facility. the beds are really comfortable. the hotel staff was very friendly. try to get a room that faces the […] water, not the pools. it is truly a great "italian" experience. also, try to get outdoors at night and enjoy the live music and scenery around the hotel. This hotel is one of the nicest we have stayed at with our kids (12 and 14yrs). Deluxe room had 2 queens and a small pull-out; this was perfect for us because we usually have to pay for a suite with a girl and boy teenagers. Food on property was excellent (try the pasta bar). Pricey, but isn't everything in the Disney area? Pool was nice; we walked […] over to Hard Rock and checked out their pool as well. Fun place. Took free water taxi to Park and to Citiwalk, 10 minute ride. This hotel was so beautiful and relaxing. I would recommend it to anyone, especially if you go to a Universal park. Perfect hotel for families who enjoy the parks but want some grown up down time after. I visited with my seven year old daughter on the recommendation of a friend. We enjoyed our stay at the Portofino much more the Grand Floridian, Polynesian, or the Nickelodeon. Each of those hotels offered little entertainment or meal choices in the evenings. The […] Portofino offered plenty to see and do right on the premises. It was extremely clean and the staff was very helpful. We reserved a club level room which was terrific. Access to the parks and City Walk was easy and fun. The ferry boats arrived like clock work every 15 minutes. The pool was open late so one evening played on the water slide until 9:30pm and then we went up and ordered room service. I will definitely return with my family. Nice large room facing beach pool was great - enjoyed the nightly Universal fireworks right from our window. Continua a leggere

I was really excited to stay at this hotel, but in the end, I was severely disappointed by the Portofino. First off, we paid a higher rate for a "Bay View" hotel room. Instead, we got a room with a view of trees directly out our window. Second, we were put in the furthest away room, It was 900 feet of walking to get to the lobby! (I measured it using […] Google Earth). And over 1200 feet of walking to get to the water slide. Third, we had to wait 50 minutes PAST the official "checkin" time of 4pm to get our hotel room. It was NOT fun sitting and waiting with anxious kids. Fourth, our toilet wouldn't flush. We had to manually pull the lid off the tank and flush it ourselves. Fifth, we received no bill under the door at night, and we were unable to checkout through the TV. So, we had to wait 25 minutes in the lobby to checkout. Sixth, I really don't appreciate having to pay over $15 for parking at an expensive hotel. I feel like I was nickel-and-dimed to death. I was really shocked at the absolute lack of quality and professionalism I was expecting to get from such a high-rated and expensive hotel. I'll never stay here again! Continua a leggere

イタリア・リゾート地の港町を思わせる造り込みと、 従業員のイタリア語での挨拶で、イタリアに行った様な気分にしてくれる豪華ホテル。 パークには船で送り迎えしてもらえるし、 スライダーやジャグジーも備えられた大プールの他にもプールが、２つ在るから家族連れにも対応。 ユニバーサルスタジオ・フロリダに行くなら、 ゲストリレーションでチケットを購入すれば、一般より早く入園出来るし、並ばずにアトラクションに入れるパスも付いて居る。しかもカードキーで、全てを清算出来るから、便利。こことハードロックホテルか、ロウズ・ロイヤル・パシフィック・ホテルがベストだと、思う。キーと一緒に冷蔵庫のキーが、渡されるが。コレで冷蔵庫を開けると8,50ドルが加算される。 チエックアウトの時に忘れずに、冷蔵庫の中身には手を付け […] てない事を言いましょう。お金は戻って来ます。 Continua a leggere

Très bel hôtel, très grand. Bateau pour se rendre aux parcs. Animations sur le "port" vendredi et samedi soir. Pass pour ne pas faire la queue pour les attractions : ça, c'est génial!!!! Mais ça ne marche pas encore pour Harry Potter. On a cependant accès au parc 1h avant pour faire le monde d'Harry Potter. Plusieurs piscines très surveillées par les […] maîtres nageurs. Une est superbe avec une plage de sable blanc. Plusieurs restaurants pour différents budgets, pas plus chers que dans les parcs. Point négatif pour cette catégorie d'hôtel : Wii Fi payant. l'hotel est idéalement situé à 10 minutes du parc d'Universal. L'accès aux parcs se fait en bâteau, charme assuré.
