"Friendly staff and convenient location"
Hotel is conveniently located within a few minutes walk to Puerta del Sol, and is in walking distance to all other sites as well. Our room on the top floor was clean, tastefully decorated, and bigger than expected. It had a seating area, small kitchen area, queen bed, and bathroom with double sink and plenty of counter space. We experienced no issues […] with loss of hot water during our stay. The staff was extremely friendly and informative- morning, night, and overnight. We would definitely stay there again on our next visit to Madrid. Continua a leggere
Nice refurbished hotel. Spacious room. Due to its location it can be noisy during the night. One aspect we really didn't like was the possibility of smoking. We smelt smoke coming from another room through the ventilation system.
Only hesitation in recommending this hotel is that there was very little hot water available. Usually only one shower worth. Great location, pleasant staff.
"Suite Prado Hotel - Madrid, Spain"
The pictures of the hotel on the website is misleading. I was disappointed at first because it is nothing like the pictures. Despite that the staff are very nice and the location of the hotel is ideal for visiting the museums and parks. All in all it was a good stay and the hotel is ideally located for the various restaurants that we enjoyed.
"Prado suite"
Pleasant, accessible. For breakfast , go around the corner on Leon st and have the egginthehole sandwich. Funky and good.
"Suite Prado madrid"
We had an amazing time here.Hotel small but everything was great about it.Location could not have been better, lots of cafes close by to have breakfast in.Only two minute walk from metro but you might not need metro as we only used it from airport to hotel as everything is in walking distance.Very lively city but once in hotel room could not hear any […] noise from street. Will stay here again. Many thanks. "suite prado hotel, madrid"
great location, staff very friendly, stayed in room with no view, just internal courtyard, but this ment no street noise. rooms very clean, just getting a little old
This is a reasonably priced little gem. It's a little hard to find at the intersection of two small streets, but it is a good location between the Prado and Puerta del Sol. There is a bedroom, sitting area, and a small kitchenette. There is no restaurant, but there are probably 15 restaurants within a block of the hotel and a small grocery across the […] street. "Great location, great hotel"
The hotel is located a 5 minute walk from Puerta del Sol, a major metro hub. It's on a small side street but very safe, even at night. I arrived in the late morning after an overnight flight from New York and the room was ready for me before "check in" time. I was a single female traveling alone and never felt unsafe. The room was very large and had […] a couch and kitchenette. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely a great deal for the size of the room and location. Continua a leggere

"What a gem"
This was my first trip with my wife to show her Madrid, and the hotel made it. What a wonderful hotel, with great staff. The location is perfect if you are in Madrid for a short time and want to be close to the old town and great restaurants. I would absolutely recommend this hotel. Oh, and great free internet. WIFI.
"Hotel Prado Suites, Madrid, Spain"
The hotel was quaint; the staff very accommodating and anxious to please; and we could walk everywhere. There were many restaurants in the area of all types. Wifi access was included at no extra charge. It was an excellent bargain.
"Definitely would stay here again"
This hotel is clean, affordable, and in a great location. The staff was very friendly and helpful in providing maps and directions to all the must-see sites. The wi-fi was great; I never had any issues with connectivity. The kitchette was perfect for what we needed. I cannot think of anything that I needed during my vacation that this hotel did not […] have. I would very much recommend everyone stay here. Continua a leggere

Within walking distance of the Prado museum and parks.. Restaurants, shops, tapas bars literally as you walk out of the door on all surrounding streets. Charming European streets surrounding
"Great service, good location"
The location of the Suite Prado Hotel is quite nice. It's a short walk to the major city centers of the Puerta Del Sol and the Plaza Mayor, as well as the shopping areas around those two places. But it's not too close, so you're not going to be bothered by throngs of people right outside the hotel. There are plenty of places to eat in the blocks surrounding […] the hotel, and it's within walking distance to the museums and the Retiro Park. The one downside, which isn't specific to this hotel but rather the area, is a lack of grocery stores if you want to save some money and eat some meals in the room. The room has a small kitchenette with a two-burner stove top, a refrigerator, and a sink. It's enough to prepare a breakfast or a light meal (e.g., I heated up soup and made cheese and jamon sandwiches with no problem). The staff was very helpful, especially the younger gentleman who seemed to primarily work the afternoons and evenings (we didn't catch his name). He helped us out a lot, though all the staff members were helpful. They all spoke English very well, if that matters to you. The hotel supplies a number of different maps that are all good, so it's not necessary to purchase one anywhere. Continua a leggere

"Suite Prado Hotel was an excellent choice"
Great location near to Plaza Santiago and Plaza Mayor, with many restaurants and shops nearby. Free WIFI worked well in the room (unlike many other European hotels we have stayed at). the reception staff were very attentive.
"Suite Prado Hotel"
Probably one of the worst hotels I have stayed at! Kitchen was out of order so locked up but no kettle cups etc provided in the room. On returning to Hotel 1st night, asked for a kettle and cups but no electric kettle available. Staff were apologetic and very understanding but could not solve problems as did not have keys for housekeeping. No storage […] for luggage except in the reception area which is quite open and felt very unsafe. The area around the hotel can be quite noisy! Very small bathroom for 3 people. Furniture needs updating. Sofas very uncomfortable. Very surprised that this hotel is classified 4*, should be more like 2*. (price paid comparable to 4/5* and expected that kind of standard. No room service although advertised as available. Do yourself a favour and avoid this hotel. Continua a leggere
"Great little spot in Madrid"
True to its name, we did get "suite" which consisted of a living room, bedroom, bathroom, and a hideaway kitchenette (which was a pleasant surprise - although we ended up not using it). The location is really close to the Prado and to great restaurants around the Santa Ana Plaza. Closest Metro is Sevilla (which is just one stop away from Sol). Overall […] our experience was great. Our suite was on the 3rd floor at the back, so it offered no views, but was insulated from any street noise. You do get the footsteps from the floor above you, but it was a minor annoyance. Not fancy, just the barebones, but it suited us just fine. Continua a leggere

"Suite Prado Hotel -Madrid"
Stayed 3 days, nice big room. Great location, no much noise. Friendly reception. The suite was clean but carpet was smelling, guess very old carpet. Internet connection not that great as the coverage is available in only some part of the room, I had to move close to the door every time I use internet.
"suite Prado"
Perfect location. small hotel with excellent staff. The attic room is a little claustraphobic if you are over 5'10. I banged my head twice. If you are staying for a day or two you cant beat it, not sure if you are staying longer.

"Staying with a family"
We spent 2 nights here (Saturday/Sunday) with our 4 year old son. The location is fantastic and well worth it for that alone. As others have noted, the location can be a bit tough to find as it is tucked away among a lot of pedestrian only streets. The room was large and the kitchenette was perfect. The room was a bit worn down and had a bit of a smell […] when we first arrived but after opening the windows that was not a problem. We didn't mind that the room was a bit worn as we didn't spend too much time there and it was perfect for our needs. The hotel is right near a lot of bars and restaurants so Saturday night we were awoken to people yelling and carrying on as they left the pubs but overall it wasn't a problem...I put in my ear plugs and our son never heard a thing! If location is what you want and a pleasant staff (Thanks, Eduardo!) then this is the place to stay! Continua a leggere

"Suite Prado Hotel. Not if you NEED the internet"
I checked in on Sunday, 4/3/11. The reasons I chose Suite Prado was for the location and the other VERY big deciding factor was their claims that they have WiFi free in every room. I connect several times a day and need to make Skype calls as well. The day I got here the connections were choppy, going in and out. Monday someone came and it took them […] 2 days to figure out that they needed to "order a piece". Now, my husband and many of my friends are in the IT business. I myself know a little something about this. None of this makes sense. For some reason, they have had WiFi available only in the lobby now for 3 days and counting. They claim to be "waiting on a part." In fact, the rooms are good, well sized and well maintained. My room felt particular cozy on the 3rd floor. Not so much street noise as some reviewers claim. I actually asked for an extension believing they would fix the connection issue soon. I have NEVER known of a network anywhere being down more than 24 hours. I would have given them a very nice review but I am VERY ANGRY that it is almost 2am and I have had to come downstairs in order to be able to communicate with people back in NY, a 6 hour time difference. Let's not discuss the number of lies and subterfuge I've been subjected to in the past 3 days as I have tried to impress upon them my need for the wifi to be working. They assume you can't possibly know anything about LANs and yet I have worked with and lived with network techies my whole life and was taught quite a bit about how to set them up and troubleshoot them. So when they are lying to my face, I know it. In either case, it is 1:45am and instead of having tea in my room while reading my emails I am on here in the lobby, which, btw, is not very cozy and very small with exactly one couch near the door. I would love to Skype my husband at home but as you can imagine, I can't exactly have a private conversation with him in the lobby. So, if you were hoping to get some work done, make int Continua a leggere
"Hard to spot entrance - walking distance to Sol"
Stayed for 2 nights in March. Arrived earlier than check in time, room was not cleaned, but was done in about 15 mins while i waited in the lobby(very small). Room was nice and comfy. Only minus was the Wifi was available only in the lobby and not in the room. Really good location, entrance slightly hard to find. Look for Hotel El Prado on Calle de […] Prado and take the road by the side of the hotel and the Suite Prado hotel entrance is on the left opposite the restaurant Indian Spice. Hope that was helpfull and enjoy your stay. Continua a leggere

"Suite Prado Hotel Madrid Spain"
Arrived early and able to check in. Room very comfortable, great location and close to Metro Stop (Anton Martin). Across street from several local cafes and within two blocks to good friendly markets. Great place to for base camp of a Madrid vacation. Good overall hotel experience and will consider for future Madrid stays.
"Suite Prado"
Suite Prado was in a convenient location. I actually walked from the Atocha train station (15 min) to the hotel, pretty much walked everywhere else. The room was spacious and in nice condition. My only problems were the hot water would run out after 5 minutes of showering. This would've been more problematic if I wasn't by myself. And the wireless internet […] connection would go in and out. The staff was friendly, convenient location, and spacious room. Continua a leggere

"Perfect for us"
Although there are few amenities at the Suites Prado, this hotel was perfect for the two of us. We love it's location, spacious rooms, helpful staff, and the way our room was maintained during our stay. If you are looking for amenities such as a pool, spa, bar, etc... this is not the place for you, but if you are looking for an experience with local […] flavor and in an area (Huertas) that has much to do then you should consider Suites Prado. We were there during the recent General Strike on September 29. They allowed us to extend our stay due to the cancellation of our flight and made every effort to help us during that difficult time. Nothing but good things to say about the place. Continua a leggere
"Great stay, superb location"
if you want to be close to great nightlife and the most well know madrid cultural sites this hotel could not possibly be any better. 2 minute walk to the world reknown Jazz Central bar and tons of other bars and cafes. less than 5 minutes to the Prado, Thyssen and Reina Sofia museums (IMO the Reina Sofia is the best of the 3, in fact probably the best […] art centre in the world). 5 minute walk to el retiro - a must-see city park, 10 mins walk to el rastro, a huge sunday morning market. honestly, it's so close to everything that i didn't even need the 10 trip metro card i bought when i first arrived. the hotel itself is a beautiful old building, well maintained and clean. no restaurant or bar, but you can get breakfast at the hotel next door. anton martin metro station is the closest - about 2-3 minute walk. if you want 5 star luxury look elsewhere, but for mid price i doubt you will find anything better. i plan to go back to madrid and would not hesitate to use this hotel again. "Suite Prado, close to the 3 big museums"
This hotel in mid-August was great value, and close to all anyone would want to see. Especially liked the stairwell, and the room was top of the house, cool and with its fridge and kettle ideal for us independant travellers. Some people might miss a bar and restaurant on site, not us, as we have special dietary needs anyway, that most reataurants don´t […] cater for. very close to the Plaza Santa Anna, where we had 3 lovely meals in Lateral, though all the other cafes looked good also. Don´t miss the Belles Artes on Alcala, pay the 2 euro and go up the top for great views, and right now a great exhibition of Capa and Taro exhibition. Continua a leggere

"Suite Prado in Mardid."
The hotel is more like a residential apartment building, you get safe, clean and spacious room, but nothing more. The best amenity is the free wi-fi; the worst was the noise. Although the location is very convenient, not all taxi drivers are familiar with this place. It's best to tell the driver to take you to the Hotel Prado, which is just on the […] backside of same building facing a bigger and more familiar road, Calle de Prado. If the driver still doesn't know where to go, just tell them to go to the Westin Palace (there's not a single taxi driver in Madrid who doesn't know where it is) and you can then walk from there, or tell the driver to continue up c. Prado two more blocks. Continua a leggere
