Le meridien is supposed to be a good chain of hotels, but in Montreal it sucks, very small lobby, bad service, no valet to help you with your luggage (11pm after a long flight), the reception guy is very weird and not welcoming, the building is old, very bad maintenance,

first got a nice queen size room but when realized the heat wasn't working was moved to a beautiful corner king size suite - no extra charge. The room Needs to be refurnished especially the bathroom There is no normal way to Make yourself a cup of tea you have to use some Coffee machine and it takes 30 minutes for 1 cup

I was given the room beneath the gym but not told upon check in, this is the biggest insult because I have other hotels to choose from. Why a room is right below this gym is beyond me because i was kept up after midnight by the treadmill which is clearly heard through the ceiling, then at 6am it was the bang bang of dumbbells being dropped AND another […] person on the treadmill. It was impossible to fall back asleep, something sorely needed while on frequent business travel. On top of this the thermal blanket had holes in it and the room had an old tired look of a motel in the backwoods, not in a prime location downtown. Sure the restaurant looks nice but who cares. I checked out early and demanded a full refund. The point is i've paid to sleep soundly, refunds are useless to me if its a business trip. It certainly does not deserve anywhere near the stars given to it. I thought Starwood had a higher standard than this. Continua a leggere

My stay was very pleasant, other than the bed linens were dirty. They actually had the odour of other guests using them. My first night was very uncomfortable due to this. I had to request that they be changed for the second night.

This is the third or fourth time we have stayed at Meridien Versailles. The location is the biggest attraction for us. It's just blocks from the Musee des Beaux Arts and rue Ste-Catherine. There are two Metro stations nearby and also a very good patisserie, Olivier Potier, that recently opened a very short walk away. We have always found the staff friendly […] and helpful, and the rooms clean. This isn't a luxury spot, but the bathrooms are a good size and the beds comfortable. The safe wasn't working on our last stay, but that's a minor complaint. Also, we enjoy the soundscapes in the elevator. Continua a leggere

Clean, pleasant boutique hotel for a family stay. There are not a lot of family-friendly restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

No parking was available - we were told to use the unsecured public lot down the street, then later after our things were already upstairs we were told we could pay a premium to possibly have a valet parking spot made available to us (?). In addition to this, there was an attempt to charge ($50+/night) for a roll away bed that was placed in our room […] without our prior notification. My wife and I enjoyed our 4 day visit, although we were only at the hotel room at night. We stayed in one of the "mini suites" at a 3rd floor, front corner, very nice location. Didn't try their resturant since there are so many great places to try within a few blocks. Overall, yes, I would recomend.

There was only one problem. The hair dryer in the bathroom did not work. There was no time to have it fixed as we were leaving.

Not a very clean hotel. The drains were blocked and the toilet also. The stuff accepted to change the room but the other room was exactly with the same problem. Blocked drains, toilet etc. Valet parking 27$ but in the road.

Horribly dry stale air throughout the hotel. Woke up congested with a bloody nose two nights in a row. Was horrible in terms of my allergies/sinus even with medication. The hotel aside from that was decent, but hard to overlook waking up feeling terrible. For someone who doesn't suffer from allergy and/or sinus issues, I'm sure this place would suf […] fice. Hotel needs renovation. Small room. Very dirty, I had to go down and tell the front desk. They didn't give us wash cloths. Location was the only positive point about this hotel. Will never go back. Service of the staff outstanding! Very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very small unfortunately and the continental breakfast not worth the money. Staff waitering at breakfast not very friendly. Location not ideal unless you want to be close to downtown but the happening areas are further afield. I've been to Montreal many a time, and always seemed to enjoy the hotels where I stayed until now. Thankfully it was a short trip because if we had to stay more than one night I would have relocated. They offer valet and parking, but limited spots, so granted when we arrived at 12:30 AM there was none left. We had to park 2 blocks away. The room itself […] was average but the bathroom was extremely cramped. The toilet was situated awkwardly, the faucet leaked, and you could hear every foot step in the hotel, so if your a light sleeper, good luck. In the morning the complimentary breakfast meant waiting in a line up in a room with very little seating. Maybe I'm being too critical but this was by far the worst hotel experience I have had in Montreal, than again its also the least amount I've paid for a hotel room in Montreal. We had a great time at the jazz festival one reason being the hotel we stayed in. the rate was great thanks to Expedia and the room was upgraded for a minimal amt/ Beds were comfy and the room was clean with a nice tiled bathroom . We liked the fact that there was a safe in the room, and a coffee maker. The personnel were responsive and polite and willing […] to help in anyway.. It was a great experience. Parking was good since we could park at the University for a minimal amt/ the front desk was kind to let us know about it. The restaurants they recommended were great.. Hotel personnel were very pleasant and helpful. Room condition was fine, but not great. Hotel was full (due to music festival) so we had to find our own parking (vs. valet service). Comfy and beautiful place with a contemporary design accent by the Musee des Beaux Arts. A couple of metro stops from the heart of downtown, and a great deal on the room rate. The Ridi restaurant on the ground floor needs a new chef (he staunchly refused to prepare and re-serve a returned dish), but has great waiting staff. Would definitely go back […] for a second stay. We went to Montreal for an extended New Years Eve shopping trip. I have been to Montreal several times but this was the first trip for my Fiance. Le Meridian was a wonderful selection - it is close to crescent street and all the clubs with the added benefit of being close to all the shopping on St. Catherine's and a short Taxi ride to the center of […] Old Montreal. The hotel was warm and inviting and was filled with a wonderful series of Music tracks from international artists. There is a wonderful pastry/coffee shop a short 2 blocks down the road (towards Cresent Street) and numerous specialty shops and Boutiques along the way. Continua a leggere

Nuestra estancia fue apenas satisfactoria, pues el nivel de servicio de la recepción y del personal de apoyo deja mucho que desear. Por ejemplo, cuándo llegamos nos dijeron que no había espacio en el estacionamiento. Finalmente, después de mucho insistir, ofrecieron hacerse cargo del auto. A la mañana siguiente, tuve necesidad de unos documentos que […] había dejado en el auto y en la recepción me indicaron que un bell boy iría a buscarlos. 15 minutos después se me acercó un bell boy y me preguntó qué necesitaba; sin embargo, la chica de la recepción me habiía dicho que ya habían ido por los papeles. En ese momento le dije al bell boy que yo lo acompañaría al estacionamiento. No estaba contento pero no tuvo opción. Al bajar a dicho parking, me percaté que estaba casi vacío, por lo que deduje que lo del estacionamiento lleno era un cuento. Otro detalle: a las 9 am del domingo, hubo fuertes toquidos a la puerta del personal de limpieza... En síntesis, no veo vocación de servicio en el personal del hotel. Continua a leggere

Montreal gaf ons de vorige keer (2000) een wat rommelige indruk. Deze keer niet, dit hotel is gelegen in Rhue-Sherbrook een hele nette straat met hotels art-gallery's, musea etc. Na een avond uit struikelden we bijna over de Bentleys en Ferrari's. Aanrader is naast de oude stad om naar Petite-Italie ofwel Italia-picola te gaan. Metro sluit hier goed […] op aan, vanuit het metrostation eerst naar de markt om vervolgens een echt Italiaanse bar te bezoeken. Opa sprak daar alleen Italiaans en de limonchello stond al snel op tafel. Goede Italiaanse restaurants te over. Compleet met een goede passende wijn voor een betaalbare prijs. Overigens kan je in heel Montreal goed eten en is het echt weer een leuke vrolijke stad geworden! Continua a leggere
