The hotel is located in a calm street very close to the modern Sihlcity area with shops and cafes. The room are spacious and modern, facing a very nice internal garden. They have nespressp machine, minibar, hairdryer in the bathroom, ironing desk and iron, internet connection for free via cable, free wifi. There is a nice a small lounge and spacious […] restaurant. The staff is very nice and helpful. Taxi can be reserved by the hotel and are always coming in max 3 min. Very pleasant stay. next to where I needed to be. I'm a coffee person - breakfast coffee could be better. although reasnable

I stay at the Engimatt whenever I go to Zurich which is once every three months on average. The Engimatt is perfect for both business and leisure travellors although slightly far from the city centre it is easy to get to the main train station with a simple tram ride. The price is very fair for the quality of this hotel in switzerland. Fantastic service […] (I once arrived and my booking had lapsed due to not infoming them of my cancelled flight, the staff could not do enough to ensure I was put up in another accomodation in the city and informed me as soon as a room opened up for the rest of my stay) brilliant hotel. Good business hotel

Comfortable hotel in a pleasant and quiet environment. The personnel is kind and knowledgeable, the breakfast is as nice as the restaurant where it is served.

My wife and I lived in Zurich for more than a year and stayed here for about 4 nights as our house was being packed up to move out of the country. Many hotels in Switzerland are not really in a condition that justifies their high prices, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that this one definitely is. The hotel is set back on a residential side street […] near Sihlcity in the Enge neighborhood, and its entrance is relatively small, but inside there's a very nice restaurant and a surprisingly large collection of good-sized rooms. My wife and I found our room quite comfortable overall. The hotel includes free wi-fi and free breakfast with a good selection of food choices -- most hotels around Zurich charge (a lot) for one or both of those things. There's a tram stop 2 minutes away from the hotel entrance, and a big mall (Sihlcity) with a larger train station easily within a 5-minute walk. We stay at this hotel every couple of months. It is really excellent value for money. Beautifully kept, lovely terrace, generally a high 4 star hotel, at 3 star price. Very good buffet breakfast, included and free good wireless Hi Fi. Clever aircon, that works through the ceiling, and is quiet. We go for a smaller room, that is fine, and we get one […] of the few with a bath! The rooms on the front have the view, but are a little noisy, chuch bells all night! Continua a leggere

Very nice hotel in a modern european style. This is not a big boxy hotel. It is a smaller, more comfortable, quite hotel. Service was excellent. The food was very good too. The location, while outside the city center, is near to shopping (mall is one block away) and the street car stop is just down the street (about 4-5 stops to the main train station). […] I will come back to this hotel and will recommend it to friends and family. Liked everything about the hotel (clean room, good breakfast, good location for my needs, etc). My only complaint is that the internet was dog slow. It was free, but so slow that I didn't use it at all after the 2nd night.

The hotel was nice, but it was a little far from the center of town. The walk was probably about 25 minutes.

Id definitely recommend a stay here. It was reasonably priced (for Zurich anyhow!), very clean, friendly staff, and in a quiet but convenient location. The staff went the extra mile by offering to clean out the minibar for our use and also offering to let use use the fridge and microwave in the kitchen when they found out my husband has food allergies […] that require us to provide a lot of our own food when we travel. Small, closet sized-rooms. Bed was like sleeping on concrete. Not close to anything worth-while. Waste of money.

As other reviewers have pointed out, the breakfast buffet is really good and the restaurant very sunny and tranquil. The bedroom and bathroom we had was spacious and well fitted with lovely views and trees around. All very clean and the duvets and bedlinen lovely. The only problem I had was that I found the mattress a bit hard for my back and could […] have done with a mattress cover for a bit more comfort. The hotel is convenient for both Zurich city and outskirts which we needed as our son and family live in Wollishofen. The no. 7 tram is a 300m walk away and we enjoyed it after a good size breakfast! A/C fine. Hottest day of the year and room was cool. Nice neighborhood with a big shopping mall full of food and clothing stores.We liked the quiet neighborhood by thehotel.We enjoyed the breakfast outdoors in the garden each morning.The tram system is great so 6 stops from the main train station on the 33 to the hotel was a fun ride every time.

The Engimatt is in a lovely part of Zurich, only a couple of tram stops from the main shopping areas (Paradeplatz, Bahnhofstrasse) and a short walk from the lake, yet in a very quiet and leafy residential part. Access is a bit strange as there are only steps up to the reception - there's no call button on the lift, so couldn't work out how to use it. […] Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was absolutely of the finest quality, and sitting in the glass orangerie or outside on the patio was delightful. Only slight quibble is they didn't refill the emptying dishes on the buffet quickly enough, or come round offering tea/coffee very quickly. My room was comfortable and spacious, with all mod cons. Only a shower, no bath, but it was nice and powerful, and spacious. Good lighting in the bathroom and excellent mirrors. Continua a leggere

Nice hotel if not a little over priced but then... that's Zurich. Staff was very friendly and very helpful when I had a problem. Breakfast on the terrace was very nice also. Little noisy in the back because of the proximity of a highway. But I'd stay there again.

Hotel is a clean and well kept property. Decent service at reception desk. However, the room i got is no larger than a walk-in closet, with a 1980 TV set, and a lovely few to some unaccessible, beglected back balkony. I kept the night curtains closed at all times to avoid it. The Bathroom although clean, has hardly enough room for one person to move […] around and if the exterior temperature is above average comfort level you'll be sweating badly, as the air conditioning system is too weak at best. Hotel was very nice, clean and in a quite area of town...still close to downtown. Breakfast was not as expected. Ran out of bacon and eggs.

The initial impression when driving up to this hotel is "Oh-oh, what have I done?" However, once inside it is quite nice, the personnel are very nice and accommodating, and the restaurant is very, very good. The main complaint is the cigarette smoke aroma throughout the public spaces of the hotel. We could not smell it in our room, though. The public […] tram is an easy 2-3 block walk. The neighborhood is very quiet, and even though it literally backs up to the autobahn, the only traffic we could hear were the tires on the wet pavement with our windows open. When the windows were closed, we couldn't hear anything. The air conditioning is designed to cool to a max of 9 degrees below the outside air temperature, so on a hot night, it may be a problem. We had a good rate during the off-season, (locked-in and paid for in USD a few months ahead of time through Hotels.com) and for that rate I would stay there again. Continua a leggere

Excellent breakfast from 6:30 AM - 10 AM. Very good coffee in the room. Very helpful hotel staff. Some suggestions for imprvement: Instructions to operate the coffee machine could be improved. Also some milk in the fridge would have been great. I should acknowledge that milk was immediately delivered to my room on request. Wired internet is free, […] though it required accepting terms every 24 hours. It would be better to accept it once for the whole duration of the stay. The Engimatt is a well run Swiss hotel, very quiet and away from most of the hustle of a major city. It is close to a tram line and easy to get into the center of town. The staff is excellent, and the food is good. Our room was on the small side, but for more money one could get a larger room. For Switzerland it is a good value.

A very nice hotel. The room was clean and neat. The building has been recently renovated. Flat screen TVs. Responsive staff. Equiped with an iron. Located on a quite street. Breakfast was included and I liked the quality of the food. However, a bit far from the city center (10 min on a tram which stops close the hotel). Hotel is good value for money for centralk zurich and is modern and clean. All rooms have balconies. The breakfast is very good and rooms spacious although more room when you updgrade to deluxe. If you have been to Zurich before and know your way about then this is a very good option. The 13 and 5 trams run about every 10 mins from 200m from hotel […] so getting about is very easy. Hotel is very good value for central Zurich. Located about 700m behind the lake on the ende side. There is a tram stop 50m from hotel making it very easy to get to the main business and tourist areas. Quality of room very good with lots of space and spacious bathroom. Breakfast was also very good.

It takes a short 10-15 minute tram ride from the train station and then a 5 minute walk but once you get there, you will not be disappointed. Large well appointed room, free internet, large bathroom with separate tub and shower. Free breakfast is great. No complaints.

This hotel was great for the price we paid! We stopped by the tourist information spot in the train station, and the gentleman explained the trolley system. We bought a 24 hour ticket, and boarded an incredibly clean, air conditioned trolley to the hotel (10 min. ride). The hotel is in a very quiet neighborhood, our room was very nice (large bathroom […] by European standards) and the included breakfast was very good. The staff was friendly. 10 minutes to the lake, 10 minutes to downtown, and a large shopping "mall" right around the corner. Continua a leggere

Zentrale Lage im Grünen. angenehmer Service, Grösse der Zimmer ( Richtung Sihlcity und Autobahn) entsprechen nicht dem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, Bad mit transparenter Tür, sowie die Terrasse/ der Balkon nicht ansprechend
