Swissotel Sydney Sydney

The Swisshotel is in a great position, above Myers, opposite the Queen Victoria Building, adjacent to Pitt Street Mall, right in the centre of the city. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, bathrooms particularly good.

This Hotel is a mediocre 4* Hotel. Nothing fancy but far from a 5*. Internet access is freaking expensive, go to McDonalds in the same block for free access. Small rooms, small TV, Entry at street level is strange: A cleaning room is much bigger than that. Personell is friendly and helpful.

We were VERY dissatisfied with the fire alarm going off at 2:30 AM and the hotel had no representative on the street exit. They seemed not to care that we had just walked down 20 flights of stairs. The management offered NO APOLOGY. We were disgusted. The alarm turned out to be a false alarm.

I had booked a smoking room through hotels.com, and guess what? the hotel was a non smoking hotel, and could not care less that i had a smoking room booked. I was disappointed by both Hotels.com's not updating its info, and Swissotel's attitude to the booking!!

The service was very accomodating and the room was impeccably clean! The location in the heart of downtown Sydney was perfect for exploring the city. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Swissotel Sydney.

Excellent location, within walking distance to Darling Harbour and main shopping areas in Sydney.

This location is just a few blocks form Darling Harbor and about a 20 minute walk to the Opera House. Also close to lots of shopping. The staff was great and made a room change for us on arrival. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Very convenient for shopping and dinning. Close to public transport.

A fantastic room with separate bedroom. Views out over the city and beyond. Spectacular! Staff that were extremely helpful and friendly. A superb evening in the heart of Australia's most amazing city. Why then, was the couch in our room old, tatty and stained? Not that it worried us too much - we threw a blanket over it. A great hotel in the ideal Sydney location. Very nice big rooms.

Location was fabulous and room was great - lovely big bathroom! Really great helpful staff also.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was great for the theatre and the restaurant meals were superb

We were unexpectedly stuck in Sydney at short notice (a big 'thank you' to Qantas for this). Found the Swisshotel on Hotels.com and booked at the very last minute (the same day as we arrived). Staff were suberb in helping us out with our unexpected delay - could not have been friendlier or more helpful. They upgraded our room and even allowed us a […] late checkout to help us with our re-arranged flights on the following day. All staff treated us like human beings and valued friends/customers. We found the hotel and its staff extremely accomodating, We were able to extend our stay by an extra day due to the airline grounding and this was done at a moments notice and without hassle. The hotel was 100% booked on the Saturday night but you would not have known it as the facility was quiet and there were no obvious disruptions to the quality […] of service experienced. Nice hotel walking distance to everything. Spacious room with a great bathroom big enough for 2 getting ready at the same time. Staff was very helpful. Lobby bar was a nice place to have a quick bite/drink.

Excellent location walking distance to Darling Harbour and Circular Quay Stayed there to see a show at Theatre Royal which was nearby.

The hotel had a nice location but was not "5 star" quality. The first room they gave us was dirty. The room we stayed in had boring decor and there were things like broken tiles on the tub, cracked trimmings, etc.

excellent location right in the heart of Sydney across from the QVB,a 10 mninute walk to darling harbour and on the monorail route Staff friendly and helpful . Highly recommended

my family and i stayed in the Swissotel- it is a bog standard , annonymous hotel- bland and boring . ideal for business but not for much else as it is well situated in the CBD. some of the concierges were great but others could not understand or be understood in English .

The only negative about this hotel is the obscene price they charge for internet access which, in this day and age, should be a standard inclusion in the room rate.

Food a over priced for what you got.

Stayed at Swissotel for one night (20/7/11-21/7/11). The concierge were fabulous! Check-in was quick and easy and the staff were very polite and helpful. The lobby was beautiful and very comfortable. The standard room I booked was ok, certainly not that of a 5 star hotel. The 'beachy/sandy' colour scheme reminded me of Queensland hotels. It wasn't very […] luxurious. I iron 'everything' and the iron and ironing board in the room was the biggest disappointment. Both were extremely old and need to be updated. The location of the hotel was the ultimate. It was right where all the action is. Had dinner at the Sydney Revolving Buffet which was a 2min walk away which was very convenient. Being around the corner from the beautiful QVBuilding and also a 5min walk to St James Station also was very convenient. Breakfast buffet was ok. For the $$ paid, the selection could have been greater. Overall had a great stay. Would rate it as a 4-4.5 star though. Would definitely stay there again for the exceptional service and location. Staying in the centre of Sydney in a very comfortable hotel certainly made our trip to Sydney a real pleasure. The Swissotel in Market St, Sydney was in easy walking distance to Darling Harbour, The Rocks, Circular Quay and many of the attractions of Sydney. It was unfortunate that we were unable to try the jpb restaurant as it was closed during Easter. […] Otherwise, the accommodation was very good, and the staff were both courteous and helpful. We had a very enjoyable stay at the Swissotel. The location was pretty good. We could easily walk down to Darling Harbor, the monorail was close by and plenty of things to do and see. The service was terrific and the entire staff was friendly and helpful. I would happily stay there again.

This hotel is located next to/above the Myer store in Sydney CBD. Don't let this put you off - the reception is on the 8th Floor and the rooms are on the floors above that. The hotel is close to the CBD shopping area and is only a few minutes walk to Darling Harbour. It is a bit of a walk to Circular Quay (about 20 minutes) if you aren't in the mood. […] However the No.555 free city bus stops just around the corner in George Street and that will have you there in just a few minutes. You can hop on or off this bus any time you like. Buses and taxis are close to the hotel and are so plentiful you shouldn't have a problem getting anywhere from your hotel and back. The hotel itself is clean, modern and well maintained. We stayed a Friday and Saturday night and the bar/lounge opposite the reception area stayed open until midnight so it was great to have a late night drink if you had returned from an evening out. I would recommend this hotel if you want somewhere that is close to Darling Harbour and the CBD shops. Continua a leggere

We were given a lovely corner room on 23rd floor so great views. Very comfortable, clean and convenient. We walked to Opera House to see a show, Hyde Park, Darling Harbour for dinner and Pitt Street Mall. Bar and dining were expensive and limited so didn't dine in hotel. Had to park car in Secure parking 4 blocks away as no onsite parking. Reception […] is on the 8th floor so have to change lifts to access room. Great location close to Darling Harbour with all its restaurants and to fantastic shopping! Very comfortable stay,,great service and quiet despite its central location. Recommend!!!!

We booked the Swissotel for a girls weekend away. The location was perfect and very convenient for all we wanted to do. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. We would recommend it to anyone needing a central location in Sydney and would be more than happy to stay there again.

Everything about this hotel was great - from the staff to the location to the rooms to the lovely bar in the lobby. The only problem we had was that there is a construction site right beside the hotel and unfortunately our room was on that side. They worked literally 24/7 - right through the weekend - and we had to deal with containers being moved at […] 3am and jackhammers at 7am. Not the most restful of holidays! I'd absolutely recommend this hotel once the construction is finished! If not, ask for a room on the other side of the hotel - it may be less noisy! Continua a leggere

Overall - this was the best hotel experience! The facilities were fantastic, the staff very helpful. We were able to secure a late check out free of charge, along with an early check in. The fridge was a bit too small, next time will opt for a room with kitchen facilities, but aside from that everything was fantastic! The Hotel is ideally situated. I think the furnishings are getting a bit old and dirty, the hotel could do with a refurb, however, I think the staff do a great job in maintaining everything. The only disappointment of our stay was the service in the Crossroads Bar on both evenings we had difficulty getting service - was it because we were 2 women??? […] Staff in all other areas were most helpful. The hotel was very clean and really convenient for getting around the city. The only downside was that it seemed to be noisy at night from outside traffic. Everything else was more or less as expected.
