Berliner Hof Hotel Berlino

The berliner hof is in kurfurstendamm, next to the Wittenburglatz U-bahn station. When I arrived I found out there was maintenance work in progress that I wasn't aware of. Every morning from 6am there were noises that disturbed my sleep. The hotel offers only 1 hour of free wifi in room, if you want more you need to pay 1,90€/h. The hotel was absolutely brilliant, good size beds, nice breakfast and very well located. They were refurbing the entrance and the two lifts are fun as they are not linked so you have to push both buttons.

The Berliner Hof Hotel was clean, conveniently located, and with a reasonable if not great breakfast. But I had several complaints. First, there was no Wi-Fi at all on the fifth floor, which is inconvenient when you want to connect phones or tablets to the Internet or if you have a computer like a MacBook air with no Ethernet port. The hotel was clean, the room was large. The breakfast was excellent, the hotel staff was very helpful. I was able to store my luggage, and check in early. The hotel is an easy walk from the s-bahn, restaurants,and shopping.

Our room was very big! The beds were comfortable, they had a bathtub, and a small balcony to stand on outside. The room was extremely clean, and actually smelled really sweet when we first got there. The construction they are doing was a little noisy, but nothing too terrible. We did not have a view at all, just some construction and the weird side […] of office buildings. The staff is extremely helpful, patient and spoke good English. The neighborhood is really awesome, basically a shopping district, and lots of good restraunts. We were also not far from any sight-seeing. The only real issue we had was with the wireless internet, at first we were under the impression it was "complimentary" like it says above, but you do have to pay for it. And then it didn't even work, and we ourselves actually fiddled with the router in our room, since when we called the front desk, they were unsure of what to do. The breakfast is amazing though! This was one of my worst ever hotel stays. Some people made terrible noise on the street. The police seemed to join the crowd and did nothing to quiet them. The manager refused to move us to another room (our room was on the street side) and said that did not care whether we could sleep. Grey, poor quality hotel with rock hard beds, double beds made by throwing two single mattresses together with two rubbish duvets tossed on top. The only way this place could be good is with it being a Stasi themed hotel. Location good for W. Berlin though. The internet is expensive and slow too.

This hotel is in a great location and is a perfect base for exploring seeing the sights, shopping and enjoying the nightlife of Berlin. I paid a little extra for a "comfort" room and was very pleased. It was very large and felt more like an apartment as it had a kitchen area, lounge area, bedroom, bath/shower room and a separate toilet. The hotel is not bad one if you are looking for somewhere to crash! However, there is a building site just next to it which is going to be going for a while so if you are i nteh hotel between 8 in the morning and 6 in the evening... you had it. great location, room was truly spacious (extra single bed, large table with 2 chairs,1 sofa and a great king size double bed) and with a balcony, very comfortable. breakfast was a real +. go for it (bare in mind is a 3 star hotel).

A great hotel with great convenience to supermarket and the U-bahn stations. The service is good and nice though the staff is not so clever that they may not have helpful answers to your questions. location is good and breakfast is also acceptable...albeit the toaster takes about 5 minutes to toast your bread! Family of six -- parents and four teenage daughters. Rented three double rooms. We were satisfied with our stay at the hotel Berliner Hof. I read the reviews and if anything surprised me it was this -- the rooms were much bigger than I expected but the entrance and hallways were worse. The entrance is kind of inside a narrow passageway to a shopping […] mall; the sliding glass entrance doors only lead to an elevator; and the cramped reception is on the second floor. Still, once checked in, the rooms were big and clean, and of course the price was right, which is why we selected this hotel. But you should be aware that this is not the city center. While the hotel is surrouded by shopping and restaurants, if you want to go to the city center it's a five minute walk to the S-bahn and then another 10-20 minute ride to get downtown. Also, at 12 euro per person per day (a total of 60 euro for our family), we skipped the buffet breakfast. Over all, it is conveniently located. But surrouding is bit noisy and some road project is going on. Another problem is, the hotel does not have a usual hotel front reciption area. It took us walking several arounds before find it. Suggest to put a note for travellers to locate it.

I stayed 9 nights and was really glad I chose the Berliner Hof - it was a great location, near to the metro and lots of restaurants and near the Zoolicher Garten Train station which took us directly to Shonefeld Airport. Reception staff were friendly and all spoke good english. The one pillow we were given was not great but when we asked for more they […] were provided immediately. My only minor quibble is that the breakfast provided was quite expensive and the price wasn't quoted anywhere which I thought was a little sneaky - the breakfast was ok but we found better breakfasts all over the city for less money so didn't take the hotel one a second time. When we arrived we were met by a very friendly receptionist who told us everything we needed to know, she also offered us help/advice which we took her up on a lot. The hotel was chosen for its reasonable price and location in Charlotenburg and it did lived up to expectations. The hotel is tucked away in a shopping mall but overlooks one of the main shopping street in Berlin and one of the many Christmas markets. We received a warm welcome from the receptionist upon arrival. The hotel entrance is situated inside a busy shopping centre but you would not know this when you are inside-the rooms are very quiet, warm and clean. Decor was a little dated but for the price of the rooms, this was a minor problem. Some staff we found to be a little patronising, when we […] asked for anything extra for example, extra pillows we were met with an odd look, but we laughed this off! :D One person travelling with us is a coeliac and the receptionist could offer us no information on where supermarkets or suitable restaurants could be, so make sure to research this beforehand if you have any special dietary requirements! ;) Breakfasts were expensive at 12euro p/p, but there are plenty of restaurants, bars and fast food outlets around. There is also a supermarket nearby which supplies anything you could want including a deli and bakery. The hotel is situated between U-Bahn and S-Bahnstations (Kurfurstendamm and Zoolischer Garten), from which you can reach all the tourist areas, airport etc. As we were doing a lot of sightseeing we found it beneficial to get a day ticket (about €6.50) which allowed unlimited travel in a day on all public transport. I would advise getting a ticket as I heard they are very strict if you do not have one! :D Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel as an excellent central base to do all your sightseeing! Avoid if you want luxury but it was great to come back to at night after a day walking in the cold! P.S. Do not make the mistake of hitting the pay channel buttons as one of us did-they had to pay €40.00 extra because he hit the button accidently two days in a row, total time on channels was twelve mins so this was costly! ;) There is a small sign under the T.V. that explains this so make sure to read it-unlike him! My wife was skittish about the location tucked in a shopping mall with casino and erotica ads flashing about and the taxi driver, a local, couldn't find it , but when we arrived at the check in things calmed down a bit. The decor is not 4 star, but the price isn't either. The pictures on the hotel website were great and we were looking forward to our 4 nights staying there. On checking in, the reception area was small but smart and clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly too. However, on entering our room, we were quite disappointed. Although a very good size, the room was generally grubby - in need of redecoration […] and a new carpet to replace the dirty and stained one there. The fouton had definitely seen better days - thankfully there was no need to use it. The bathroom needed a complete refurbishment. It smelled awful - there were cracks in the ceiling and black mold in the silicone and tile grouting around the bath. There was no safe in the room (although there were apparently safes in reception), no tea & coffee making facilities or mini bar. There was a drinks cabinet in reception where you could purchase both soft drinks and alcoholic drinks. The TV was absolutely tiny and you struggled to see it from the bed! For a 3 start hotel, it didn't cut the mustard with these basic requirements. On the plus side, the hotel was in a perfect location for shopping on the Kurfurstendamm, underground stations for getting around, eating and drinking places. The entrance to the hotel is tucked away in a small "close" which in turn is the entrance to small shopping area. For a 1 or 2 night stay, the hotel is probably o.k. but we won't be staying there again. Continua a leggere

We enjoyed our stay, location next to Europa Center, metro 100 meters from hotel, breakfast was not included with the room and required 12 euros per person. Staff were very kind and helpful.many restaurants and cafes all around the hotel. Great room for price.
