Il mio soggiorno era di una sola notte e sono rimasto contento. La camera è ampia ed il bagno spazioso. Il contesto un po' "retrò" si addice perfettamente ad un soggiorno nel cuore di Venezia. Il rapporto qualità/prezzo è favorevole

L'hotel ovidius è situato in posizione ottima. Comodissimo per spostarsi nei luoghi di interesse di tutta la laguna. Posizionato a meno di 100 metri dal ponte di Rialto, uno dei punti più belli di Venezia.Essendo situato nel cuore di venezia e in posizione centralissima, è facile raggiungere tutte le mete e le estremità in pochi minuti. Le camere sono […] bellissime, consiglio le superior molto spaziose e ben arredate. Per chi avesse qualche soldo in più le superior con vista offrono un'atmosfera molto romantica, oltre ad essere veramente belle e spaziose. Bagni bellissimi e spaziosi e vasca idromassaggio per rilassarsi dopo lunghe passeggiate. Da non trascurare l'eccellente pulizia degna veramente di un 10 e LODE. Nel complesso io e la mia ragazza siamo rimasti sbalorditi per la calda accoglienza e la gentilezza di tutto il personale. Che dire di più, siamo contenti di aver fatto una vacanza a 5 stelle in un hotel bellissimo e dai prezzi contenuti in base al servizio offerto. Rapporto qualità/ prezzo al TOP! Noi avevamo prenotato una camera economica matrimoniale pertanto descriverò questo tipo di location. La stanza e' piccola, il letto matrimoniale ha un comodino (altro lato contro il muro). Sono presenti una scrivania, un armadio, frigo bar, cassaforte, TV. Lo spazio e' poco nella stanza, ma poco importa a chi gira per la città dal mattino alla sera. […] Il bagno e' funzionale e pulito. Le finestre della nostra stanza erano affacciate sul muro del palazzo vicino a 1 metro circa, ma in una città come Venezia questo è la norma non l'eccezione altrimenti si vada negli Hotel del Lido. La colazione si consuma in una sala da pranzo con vista sul canal grande; colazione internazionale. La reception rimane aperta 24 ore su 24 e il personale è disponibile nel fornire informazioni circa la città, le visite ai musei, mostre, locali, ecc. Non abbiamo patito rumori molesti durante la notte nè dall'esterno nè dalle altre stanze. Consiglio questo tipo di sistemazione a coloro i quali vogliamo godersi Venezia "spremendone" le bellezze per la maggior parte del tempo (noi uscivamo alle 9 e rientravamo dopo cena). Chi preferisce sostare maggiormente in stanza necessita di altro tipo di sistemazione...ma chi va a Venezia per stare in camera?!? Continua a leggere

E' un'hotele centralissimo, praticamente nel cuore di Venezia, comodo, pulito, e la proprietaria è una persona decisamente affabile. Tutto è praticamente a portata di mano, un punto di riferimento ideale per una vacanza nella meravigliosa Venazie che spicca per eccellenza in tutto. Consigliato vivamente, Speriamo presto molti luoghi (ponte dei sospiri) […] vengano ripuliti da qulle impersonali e inutili titaniche rappresentazioni pubblicitarie, affinchè tutto ritorni allo splendore proprio dei luoghi. The hotel's condition was a little bit worse than I was expecting for the ratings I had seen and the price of the hotel. But everything is more expensive in Venice, and more expensive to keep up, so I can't say it was terribly surprising. The location was great, just down the canal from the Rialto bridge. I've stayed in some really wonderful places in many parts of the US and Europe , New York, Barcelona, Niemes, Split, and Cancun to name a few. This place will stay in mind as one of my favorites! Very centrally located. View of the Rialto bridge from the hotel. Free breakfast was good but with few options. Rooms were comfortable. Very helpful staff but they charged me 5 euros for wifi. But I will help you save 5 euros for a gilato. The password is - hotelovidius

We took the cheapest room and it was the cheapest of any of the hotels I could find. As expected, the room was tiny but had the amenities including a tv. Everything worked. The best part was the location only a few steps from the main canal. I would recommend this hotel based on the value.

Fantastic location and excellent staff, who were incredibly helpful and very pleasent. Decor was in keeping with the whole Venice experience - shabby [but not too shabby] chic. Only slight downside was that our room was a tad on the 'shoebox' side, but not deal buster. This is a well kept and characterful hotel. If you prefer modern, spacious, glittering hotels, with restaurant and bars, this is not for you (though bars and plenty of trattoria are just round the corner). This hotel had the best views on the Grand canal from the terraces. The rooms were descent. The only downside was that it was a hike from the train station We walked - bad idea (take a water bus it's only 2 stops). The Hotel was great, GREAT location - close to the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Sq.

The staff at this hotel were absolutely great. We definitely received great customer service. Nothing was too much trouble. On our day of departure we were able to use the shower facilities and hotel lounge area. This was brilliant as we had a late evening flight. Great location, overpriced, breakfast shocking and not worth payin for. Toilet flush kept running, television very very old and small, air conditioning you can not control you have to ask person in reception to adjust, turn on, off etc.

The location of this hotel was very conveniently located almost next to the Rialto Bridge where it was very easy to access vaporetto's (water bus), water taxis, gondolas, restaurants, and shopping. The room (triple) was quite tight with a cot squeezed in for my son but we didn't spend much time in the room anyway. Although the room had no view, the […] hotel did have a nice little balcony overlooking the Grand Canal and the Rialto where we could relax with a glass of wine and watch the world go by at night. The only thing that was a little awkward was that we were required to return the room key (no scan cards) to the front desk everytime we left the hotel and pick it up when we returned. Very disappointing! Our room was VERY DIRTY, stained carpet, chipped paint, light fixtures were bent and falling off the walls. The toilet seat was not fastened well and moved whenever anyone sat on it. Mold and water marks on the ceiling. We asked for a water view and got a view of a dark alley. The lift was not working and had to lug our luggage up […] three flights of stairs. Stairway and reception was dark and dingy. I felt like crying. On a more positive note, it was in a great location and the views from the breakfast room and sitting room were outstanding of the Grand Canal. Pros: - Great cleaning bedroom with Superb Venetian-style decoration - Room is equiped with Minibar & Small fridge, Venetian-style cupboard with cloth hangers & safe box - Big cleaning bathroom / toilet with Bidet (please google if you don't know what it is) - Jacuzzi bathtub and hair-dryer inside your bathroom. - Fantastic Location: very close to […] the Rialto Bridge (but not noisy), which is in the middle of Venezia, many choices of restaurants. - Breakfast: A proper Continental Breakfast with choices of cereal and yogurt, with salami and ham - Services are friendly and faithfully wonderful; no additional hidden charge (except the City Tax that you are supposed to pay) - You are allowed to leave luggage there; though, you've already checked out. Cons: - Breakfast: Continental Breakfast, so NO Salad and Hot food. - No shower curtain for the bathtub (leading to flooding floor when showering) - For our room, which is not on the Grand Canal side, windows are not supposed to be opened; however, the Air-conditioning unit in the room is very useful. - Our TV / remote control do not work properly; though, we did not ask for help because we're in Venice, which is not the time for watching TV. Love the location. This was our second stay here. First time we accidentally picked this hotel. Second time we KNEW this was where we wanted to be. Staff friendly great breakfast. Fantastic location and a true Ventian hotel, steeped in history. Our room was spacious and immaculately clean with good quality snow white linen. The air conditioning was very efficient which was fantastic, as it was very hot during our stay. A modern bathroom with super shower and whirl pool bath and complimentary toileteries. Verdict: Super stay for a 3* hotel in an ideal location for seeing the magical sights of Venice. Excellent value for money and flying with a proper airline made this a memorable trip! Hotel advantages are it's location to the Grand Canal in Venice ... and it includes breakfast. The room was not great ... small, no working air condition. The safe was too small. The beds were ok, but not great. But was always clean. Not much interaction with the staff.

For a three star hotel my stay was very nice. Were I to rate it very nice however someone will wonder why they didn't get a mint on their pillow. This is an entirely European hotel with an elevator and a shower stall each about 2 1/2 feet square. As of May 2012 The Hotel Ovidius is in two side by side parts. One part has no elevator and residents in […] that part, to reach the breakfast room, must go outside and back in. This might be considered a great inconvenience for many. To join the two parts of the hotel, all that has to happen is for a false wall to be removed, for which the Ovidius is trying to get a permit. The day staff, typically Lucia, was simply delightful; informed and helpful and fluent. (Should you stay tell her Paul says "hi".) The evening and night staffs were equally friendly but appeared less knowledgeable and certainly less fluent in my native language, English. A few of the rooms front on the Grand Canal overlooking the Rialto. Occasionally however the Rialto area gets noisy in the evening so if you're an early-to-bed type like me you might be happier in a less scenic interior room. Views of the Rialto are however available from the small terrace off the breakfast room (on one side of the hotel) or from the veranda (on the other side). Wifi is available in the second floor breakfast room and (so I hear) the first floor sitting room below it. It might stretch to the rooms on either side of these but you probably won't get a decent signal in your room. Continua a leggere

The Hotel is in a fantastic location. Thats where the positives end though. Considering the price it would be one of the worst hotels I`ve seen. Old box TV, old uncomfortable bed, patched up walls, shower door fell off, shower head fell off, unhelpful staff, ordinary breakfast, very noisy. Wouldn`t stay there again and hard to recommend. We stayed at this hotel for its central location. We were able to quickly get to the hotel via waterbus and as an added bonus saw the Rialto bridge just steps away. The staff was friendly and wifi worked well for the reasonable one time charge. We stayed in room 103 which was a bit rough. The tile was in need of repair and regrouting, the shower small […] and hot water came only if you beat the other guests. The room was cold and we required extra blankets which they happily provided. The bed was not comfortable as the springs were clearly felt. However the location can't be beat, staff was more than accommodating, and the room had all the essentials. The rooms were super small, and it's very hard to locate. Breakfast was crappy. To get here from the train station you take water bus #1 going left (not right) and get on the S.silverstrone something stop, than you walk thru the tiny streets to the hotel.

fantastic service and very friendly helpful staff. the room was thoroughly serviced including replacing shower gels etc we booked on a cheap deal so got no view at all but the room decore was amazing and the room was still light the view from the breakfast room was superb - couldnt beat it!
