"Ottimo per i gruppi"Recensito da un ospite di Hotels.com il 7 mag 2012
Happy Venice ha 3 camere matrimoniali, 2 doccie, 1 salotto e una cucina.Puliti.Siamo stati molto bene in 3 adulti e 3 bambini.

L'hotel ovidius è situato in posizione ottima. A presto, grazie. Andrea e Marilena Continua a leggere
"VIAGGIO DI NOZZE"
NON POSSIAMO LAMENTARCI, L'UNICA COSA CHE HO TROVATO SGRADEVOLE è STATA QUELLA DI TROVARE IL BAGNO CON VASCA E PENSO CHE PER QUESTIONE DI IGIENE NEGLI ALBERGHI SIA MEGLIO TROVARE LA DOCCIA ..E POI UNA PUZZA DI FOGNATURA ALL'ENTRATA ...MA PER IL RESTO LO CONSIGLIO SI DORME BENE OTTIMA COLAZIONE E OTTIMA POSIZIONE A LIVELLO DI STRADA

"Location over comfort"
We stayed at this hotel for its central location. We were able to quickly get to the hotel via waterbus and as an added bonus saw the Rialto bridge just steps away. The staff was friendly and wifi worked well for the reasonable one time charge. We stayed in room 103 which was a bit rough. The tile was in need of repair and regrouting, the shower small […] and hot water came only if you beat the other guests. The room was cold and we required extra blankets which they happily provided. The bed was not comfortable as the springs were clearly felt. However the location can't be beat, staff was more than accommodating, and the room had all the essentials. If you are willing to forgo some comfort for an unbeatable location this is a good bet. Continua a leggere
"Super small room"
The rooms were super small, and it's very hard to locate. Breakfast was crappy. To get here from the train station you take water bus #1 going left (not right) and get on the S.silverstrone something stop, than you walk thru the tiny streets to the hotel.
"Unfriendly staff"
In my experience having to deal with the staff overshadowed the entire trip to Venice.

Excellent location, reasonable price
"locanda oviduis-good location"
The hotel is just ok really, the location is the main plus point. Its nice that its a small more independent hotel not a chain, but i really felt that for the price, it should offer more all round. The room was fine! Although supposed to be a double superior so i wouldnt like to see a normal double. The buffet was a bit poor, but you are near a lot […] of cafes and bars, not on the water front, but some great ones around near the fish market. Its tricky as i expect that all hotels in venice are overpriced, and due to the nature of my work i am lucky enough to stay in alot of hotels in different couontries, which is why i expected more i think. Ultimately although there was nothing fundamentally wrong and the location is great, i wouldnt stay there again. Continua a leggere
"Great location"
The hotel is right on the Grand Canal and less than a 100 yars from the Rialto bridge. The view from the cafeteria is very good. I noticed that I could hear everything from outside my room window, but fortunately, it was very quiet the night we were there.

"VERY SUITABLE PLACE"
PRICE WAS NOT CHEAP, HOSPITALITY WAS NOT THAT GREAT, CLEARNESS WAS NOT THE BEST, BUT THE LOCATION CAN COVER THESE BECAUSE IT'S NEXT TO RIALTO AND AIRPORT BOART STOP. YOU CAN ALSO BE GETTING GREAT VIEW IF YOU PAY MORE.
"Very good location close to Rialto"
Loved the location which is one of the closest to Rialto. Hotel staff was very friendly. Nice decoration. Breakfast room has a beautiful view to the Rialto bridge. Would certainly recommend this hotel.
"Hotel Locanda Invidius - Venice"
A location to die for.Magnificent views of the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge. Rooms quite small and simply furnished.

"Unforseen problem with sewage"
Unfortunately, there was a foul odor in the elevator on the first day, and then the second day it was worse by the third day the plumbers were here and ripped up the lobby floor which is very small. The whole hotel smelled awful. It was taken care by the evening but made our afternoon a bit uncomfortable after a long day of sight seeing.
"Hotel on the Grand Canal"
Great location within 100 meters of the Rialto Bridge. Its not a five star but for there was value for the money. Unless you're willing on spending $1,200/night you are not going to get luxury. The room was comfortable and clean overlooking the Grand Canal. The staff were friendly and courteous.
"Excelent Hotel location and service"
The hotel is located in an unique spot with a priceless view and the service was fantastic. I will certanlly recomend the Hotel to anyone that planes to go to Venice
"Hotel Locanda Ovidius - 3 Star Hotel at 5 Star $"
This was a nice hotel in a great location. Yes, Venice is expensive - however for the price we paid for this hotel, it would have been much nicer if the bathroom was more usable. There was no water pressure in the shower, which is a good thing because there was no shower curtain or even the half glass that you sometimes see in a European hotel. The […] staff was nice and friendly but not overlly helpful. However, they did let us check in a few hours before posted check-in time. Continua a leggere
"It's OK"
Breakfast was less than mediocre. Internet access was inexpensive. 5 EUR for the entire stay. My room overlooked the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge so that was neat. Had to pay extra for a "Tourist Tax" and a rollaway bed when I got there which I was not expecting. I'm still peeved about that.

"Hotel Locando Ovidius - near the Rialto Bridge"
We were greeted warmly upon check-in and given wonderful directions for quickly meeting up with friends. Breakfast was decisious and plentiful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to family/friends.
"Hotel Locanda Ovidius - Venice"
The Hotel is located very close to the Rialto Bridge and has a first floor lounge with a small balcony overlooking the Grand Canal. Staying at the Hotel captures the atmoshere of Venice and sitting on the balcony at night watching the water traffic is magical. The staff are very friendly and helpful. When we were there the Hotel was undertaking some […] building renovations but this did not disturb us. We didn't expect to be so close to the Grand Canal for he money we paid for the Hotel. "great location! back in time experience :)"
the hotel is located next to one of the bridges over the canal , this make it easy to cross it and walk around the center of Venice. the room that we got for 250 US was the smallest one we stayed in while visiting Italy. however the room was very clean the breakfast was also very limited and from the cheapest non fresh products. they charge you if you […] want a Cappuccino or espresso . "Hotel Locanda Ovidius"
I was extremely surprised about the easy of locating this hotel .Vaporetto stop San Silvestro is the closest to the hotel though Rialto was as close but a battle over the Rialto Bridge which was packed all hours of the day in August. The hotel was minutes from Rialto Bridge and on the Grand Canal. I could not have ask for a better position. The staff […] was very friendly and the room was serviced regularly if not daily. All in all I enjoyed my stay in this hotel. Continua a leggere
"Fantastic location, wonderful staff"
I was recently there for 4 nights and was extremely happy with everything. As most have said, the location is absolutely fantastic. The view from the common room terrace is one to envy but we were lucky enough to see it every day! The staff was very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to be kind and responsive to all our questions. The […] room itself was clean and comfortable, good ac, nice beds - nothing fancy, but instead quaint and almost old fashioned. It was a perfect compliment to the storybook setting outside our hotel. I would highly recommend staying here! Continua a leggere

"Great location"
This hotel was gem. Perfect location to see Venice. Room was great with very modern bathroom. Walls of room were covered in fabric and the ceiling light was murano glass. Our window looked out onto a lane. The breakfast room looked onto the grand cannal and had a veranda that you could go out onto and watch all the traffic. We came here in the evening […] with a drink and watched all the activity. We found a coop market on the way to st marks square so it was quite convient for snacks etc. Breakfasts were the norm for Italy except they did not have cheese other than those "cheese" triangles and crosiants were in plastic packaging. Coffee was drip but they would make you a cappacino if you asked. Overall i loved this hotel, as the location and services provided for the money were excellent and it enhanced our venenitan experience. Continua a leggere
"Hotel Locanda Ovidius - PERFECT Location"
If you are looking for a hotel that is in the center of everything, this is the place for you. Perfect location close to the Rialto Bridge overlooking the Grand Canal. Easy walk to St. Mark's Square. Loved sitting out on the balcony at night just watching the goings on outside. Our room was a good size and clean with a nice view of a side residential […] street; however, it was quite noisy in the morning from an early hour on. Staff was helpful when asked for information but not overly friendly. The hairdryer was broken in our room. We brought it to the attention of three different front desk staff but it was never fixed during our stay. The continental breakfast was not very good at all - packaged croissants, warm milk for cereal, etc. Overall though we really enjoyed our stay - the awesome location and nice, clean room made up for some of the minor issues we encountered. Would definitely recommend. Continua a leggere
"Very pleased with my stay at Hotel Locanda Ovidius"
I stayed at this hotel for one evening this past June during the middle of tourist season. I greatly enjoyed the hotels staff, the hotel's location and my room's view. The lowdown: The part of the hotel where I stayed did not have an elevator. However, my stay here was at the beginning of my trip, so carrying my bags up the stairs wasn't so bad. The […] hotel did have internet but I wasn't there long enough to use it. But I think it was five Euro's for a certain amount of time. Being close to the Rialto Bridge was huge because it made finding our hotel easy after getting lost several times wandering through the streets and canal ways of Venice. My Italian was terrible, but all I had to do was ask somebody "Rialto Bridge" and I could get pointed in the right direction. This hotel took both Italian two-prong and European three-pong power adapters. Continua a leggere
The staff was very helpful and cheerful. The location was excellent. We loved our room- top floor, quiet, with a view of the canal. We spent a lot of time on the balcony enjoying the activities on the canal. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
"Locanda Ovidiuson theVenice Grand Canal"
What a wonderful little (18 room) hotel in a super great & central location! We were very charmed by the multi-lingual Luccia at the front desk and all the staff was nice. Our "upgrade" room (Rm 203) had a comfy bed, charming street view and traditional Venician chandelier - but a terribly tacky picture on the wall. The newly re-done all-tile bathroom […] with bidet & whirlpool tub would have been wonderful had there been some kind of shower curtain on it (I was assured it's in the plans). The included basic breakfast is nothing special (toast, ham, yogurt, juiice) but the coffee is good and breakfast room has a spectacular view of the busy Grand Canal. Definitely check out the Black Cat bar at the far end of the street with one euro glasses of wine! Continua a leggere
"location location, that is what this hotel offers"
this hotel is an attraction by itself as building goes back to centuries ago,so as such it is very old..mattreses were very uncomfortable..breakfast was ok,certainly not the best for european hotel,it was still good for an overpriced city like venice.also walls are paper thin and the first night of our stay was a saturday night and I could clearly hear […] our neighbors choice of music sellection which went on till about 1-2AM...,when I called the reception I was told there isnot much they could do since it was from neighbors and not actual hotel guests with that being said I still recommend this hotel, why???,because you cannot beat the location, our room had view right on grandcanal and rialto bridge,we could walk in 10-15 minutes to st.marks square and all restaurants and activities that venice has to offer were close to hotel, also the staff are the nicest people ever and more than happy to help you with everything from directions to recommendations for restaurants and etc...also breakfast room has view to grandcanal which was nice...overall we didnot leave with much bad memories.... "Hotel near the Grand Canal"
Hotel was well situated to walk around Venice. Staff was pleasant, hotel is well-maintained for the age of the building, nice breakfast buffet and rooms are fine. We found the beds to be hard but for us we were not in the room much, preferring to see the beauty of the city of Venice.
"Venetian jewel"
Super little hotel overlooking the Grand Canal, a stone's throw from the Rialto Bridge. Location could not have been much better. Wonderful, friendly and always helpful reception. We checked in a bit early with no problem. Elegant bijou bedroom and compact bathroom. Not much elbow room anywhere - especially in the shower! Breakfast OK, but what a view […] - watching the fascinating canal traffic. Like everyone else I expect, we got off our vaporetto at Rialto, then had to lug our cases over the bridge. Then we discovered the Rialto Market stop, on the correct side of the canal, and just 5 minutes 'stair free' to/from the hotel. There's another useful stop, the same side but the other way, and a handy traghetto near there and another near the market, to save fighting the crowds across the bridge. Useful free luggage storage on last day. We even got back a bit early to say goodbye and thank you to our favourite receptionist. Continua a leggere
"A great location but basic accommodation"
You can't fault this hotel for where it is - being 1 minute walk from the Rialto Bridge was fantastic - but you should know that everything else about it was very basic. Our room was tiny, with a very small wetroom, almost no natural light and not one English channel on the TV. Having said that, the people on reception were great - very friendly, helpful […] and there was someone there at every hour during the day. I ended up liking the place's home-like atmosphere, but it won't be to everyone's taste and it took me a while to come round to it. If you are looking for a hotel with all the modern conveniences, this isn't it. Continua a leggere

"Great view of the Rialto Bridge"
This hotel was in a great location for us. Close to the S Silvestri vaporetto stop. We had trouble finding it but I think that is the way of Venice and the crap map we purchased. We had an excellent view of the Grand Canal and the Rialto bridge from our room. This is devine but noisy, especially around dawn as the restuarants below have their supplies […] delivered. Rooms at the back wouldn't have this issue but no view either. Our room was huge as was the bath room. Generally the condition was good but a little run down. The paint on the walls was quite heavily oxidised and I got this on my clothes from brushing against it...just a nuisance..not the end of the world. Breakfast was adequate, reasonable choice just not a good as others we have had. The dining room had nice views but was tiny (maybe 5 tables) meaning not everyone could be seated. Some had to come back later. I would stay here again. Continua a leggere

"Fantastic hotel in PERFECT location for Venice"
We loved the hotel! From the begining we were greeted with smiles. The room was magnificant - overlooking the Grand Canal and literally 100 yards from the Rialto Bridge. Many shops and dining in the area and just a quick walk to the Fish Market or St Mark's Square. We cant wait to come back! Our 13 year old son loved it too! HIGHLY reccomend

You pay for the location. It is literally on the grand canal, and you can look over the famous bridge from your hotel. It is an old hotel however, and our room was on the next building without an elevator. Thankfully, our room was on the second floor, but if you book a cheapest room, be ready to carry your suitcases. Rooms were pretty nice, though again, […] it is pretty old. Some stains on the carpet and wall, but nothing we can't live with (especially for a few days of stay). Breakfast was included, but the worst coffee and croissant we've ever had (probably instant and packaged croissant.). The only thing we could tolerate eating was yogurt. Don't count on it. The owners were extremely nice, and told us about local places to eat. Surrounding area is extremely touristy, so it was hard to find places where locals eat. Very helpful. If we were ever to go back, however, we might look for somewhere not on the canal and a bit cheaper. Continua a leggere

"Very near Rialto bridge"
This hotel is pretty good. We had a big room at the back overlooking a quiet street - staff are helpful. Very near Rialto bridge, pleasant walk to San Marco.
