This is a great place to stay. Very clean and very reasonable. Friendly, helpful staff. However, you can skip the breakfast bar.

The Suite was large separate bedroom & sofa bed, kitchen. They also have larger suite, The breakfast was good selection,and was taken to our suite. The Front Desk & Cleaning staff were exceptional in helping with luggage , where to visit shopping etc.arranging taxi for our onward journey. Parking was free in U/G Garage. Just a block away from all kinds of eating places, a short trip to ferry boat for Granville Island, 10 Min walk to English Bay. To sum it up its where we will stay on future visits. We had a wonderful two night stay. The service was top notch. The location was a bit far from Robson St, seemed like a mile walk. Nice to have free in and out secure parking.

Stayed in Vancouver Mar 23 - gorgeous weather! The hotel was great - friendly staff, nice neighborhood, excellent room (especially for the $). The parking was a little odd, but worked fine - had to pull through a gate (activated by key card) from an alley (true alley, not exactly lovely) - but no problems. Location was super convenient - short walk […] into downtown (10-15 min?) through bustling neighboorhood. Continental b-fast was okay - small selection, bring plates/etc from your room. It hit the spot though. Room was on 5th floor - if we had been just a smidgeon higher, would have had great view of bay (11 floors total? I think?) Overall, would def. recommend. Continua a leggere

We liked the location in a quiet residential neighborhood within a few blocks of Sunset Beach, great food, Stanley Park, and downtown. The continental breakfast was ample, and the best part was that you consume it in the dining room of your suite - very civilized! Sunset Beach is great for enjoying sunsets and walking.

Nice hotel, nice location, no pool or dining room but great restaurants all around, VERY convienent for transit. Big suites, with geat little kitchens. Upgrade from "Standard Suite" is worth the money. Free parking is very suprising but very welcome! Wonderful staff.

I booked this hotel from hotels.com under the search of hotels that were close to University of British Columbia. It is nestled in among some older apartments near Davies Street (one block away) were there was any kind of food you could want. Private/gated parking and just a few blocks from Robson street were there is tons of shopping and about a 15 […] minute walk from the Olympic stadium and amazing views of the water. Short drive from UBC. The view from the room was great too and very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again, very multicultural area. Continua a leggere

Stay here for three nights, great location, great room, super comfortable bed, very helpful front desk staff. My new favourite place to stay in Vancouver.

Our stay was excellent.The room was our home away from home the full kitchen was very handy for breakfast and lunches and the seperate bedroom allowed my husband and I to enjoy movies and conversation while our two year old daughter slept.The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location and price are great. Overall clean and adequate. Bot the shower drain was so clogged with hair deep down into the pipes that it wouldn't drain until I pulled all that gunky stuff out bit by bit with my hands. Not pleasant! Also, there is no counter space at all in the kitchen and bathroom. And no DVD player available. The only table is […] so narrow only one person can sit at a time without overlapping knees. The location of Sunset Inn is wonderful - set on a parallel street from Davie Street (the main gay district in Vancouver), it is within easy walking distance of several good restaurants offering different ethnic cuisines (from sushi to empanadas), yet is in a quiet enough location that you would not be bothered too much by noise at night. The staff […] was friendly and always greeted us with a smile when we walked past the reception counter. Because it was the Christmas season, there was eggnog, apple cider, hot chocolate, marshmallows and mandarin oranges available from 3pm-6pm every day... which I thought was a very nice gesture. The most attractive feature is the low price and the value for money we got. We also got a free upgrade to a big suite - not to mention we got an early check-in done very quickly and with a minimum of fuss. My only slight complaint is that the walls are quite thin and when we were still sleeping at 9am in the morning, we were often woken by the cleaning staff conversing outside the main door of the suite. Hotel stuff and facilities were very good. If the bathroom was a little more spacious and had a bath tub, it would have been even better.

nice friendly hotel staff, only thing is the cleaning of our room was about 4pm everyday, after a early morning out and a break back at the hotel, they always come knocking on the door when your relaxing. Room was super spacious and very clean with the wood floors.

This hotel is dated, but this is made up for by the friendly staff, comfortable rooms and great location. It is close to shopping, restaurants and the ocean. The staff will try to make everything right. If you don't have high expectations of the Hilton, you will enjoy this accommodation.

Great find. Suite was on the smaller side but perfect for a one night stay. Bed was comfortable and very clean. Within walking distance to restaurants and entertainment. Would stay here again.

Stayed at this hotel before, but had my sister on this trip with me. This place is absolutely awesome! The price for what you get is incredible. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. We really enjoyed our stay there; more than we expected! The location is great (walking distance to city, sites, grocery, shops), the suites are so convenient (fully equiped kitchen: has everything you need and is spotless), the king size bed was almost TOO confortable and the staff are so friendly and helpfull. Coming back after a day of siteseeing […] really felt like we were coming HOME. And the included breakfast is an added bonus, it may not be a full buffet but it has everything you need to make yourself a great breakfast in the comfort of your own room. Room Temperature was not comfortable.

The parking garage gate would not open with the card and one of the staff came out immediately and helped open the gate. There were mouse dropping in one closet and under the couch. Staff said this is a fall problem and they are working on trapping the mice. There was a trap under the couch. Thought the hotel was good after reading the reviews but it wasn't that great. If you are a light sleeper then you won't have a good night's sleep - the walls were so thin that you can hear the noise outside not only in the hotel but from the streets outside. Bathroom was way too small, the elevators had a musty smell, and not much of a continental […] breakfast that they offer. Couldn't wait to get out of there, one night was more than enough for me. A home away from home.

My room was so comfortable and clean, it was almost as good as being home. Only snag was a bathtub drainage problem, and the staff were more than a little accommodating to us for the problem. Amazing hotel for a very fair price! LOVED the location too, we were able to walk to every place we wanted to visit, and when we were too tired to do that, cab […] rides were always under 10$. The accomodation was great with plenty of space in the living area, separate kitchen and comfortable bedroom. Staff of this hotel are fantastic. Rooms are great and a bonus to be able to do washing. Had friends from Australia and we stayed on their arrival and departure. Has become my favourite place to stay when I travel to Vancouver. Close to downtown, stanley park and granville island.. need I say more??

Very nice and clean hotel, nice parket floor, no carpet which was a plus to me. Close to amendities. Very friendly staff. Will go there again for sure.

I was a bit weary when I pulled up to the place. It had a very small, not-so-sophisticated look. I had paid a good amount of money to stay overnight and I hoped it would be amazing. I walked inside to some of the most friendly hotel receptionists I had ever experienced. Everything was quick and easy and they seemed very interested with helping me plan […] the rest of my stay in Vancouver to make it as enjoyable as possible. The room ended up being HUGE and sooo nice. I attended a concert at Rogers arena which was a 10 dollar cab ride away and we walked back from the concert! Everything went great! The only complaint I have is that the cleaning ladies walked in to our room twice while we were there. I know they were just trying to do their job, but honestly we were only staying overnight, we dont need our room cleaned after an hour of being in it and an hour before we leave. Sunset Inn and Suites is a wonderful small hotel in the West End of VC for families and others traveling on a budget. Clean, friendly and comfortable, it is conveniently located on a quiet, residential street in walking distance of the waterfront and the Granville Island ferry, as well as English Bay and the entrance to Stanley Park. Our stay at the Sunset Inn in August 2011 rates 2 thumbs up. I would definitely stay here again. Pros: This is a great property. Very well kept. The location is good. We were able to walk to many of the attractions we wanted to see and the buses are very regular on all the main streets so getting around without a car was easy. The desk staff was very […] friendly and went out of their way on multiple occasions to make sure we had everything we needed including allowing us to come behind the registration desk to print out confirmations and our boarding passes. The room was really big including a great deck with chairs to enjoy the city view. The kitchen was equipped with all the dishes we needed for a few meals in the room to save a little money. Parts of the room, like the bathroom have been modernized, the other parts are decorated a little retro but still comfortable. Both the living room and bedroom have nice large flat panel TVs. The channel selection was a bit meager compared to the US but they do offer free DVDs at the front desk if you find yourself relaxing in your room. Wireless internet is included free. Continental breakfast is included. Its bran cereal or Cheerios, croissants or toast, apples or bananas, orange juice and coffee. We picked up some berries at a local store for the cereal and were fine but if you normally eat a big breakfast when traveling plan to supplement the food. So So: the bed was very firm which wasn’t the best for our middle aged backs but the firmness of the bed is a preference so I’m not saying it’s a show stopper. The sheets, pillows and comforter were very nice. The bathroom was decorated very nice but a little bit of the grout could have used a bit more housekeeping attention. Not gross, just noticeable. Also, I’d recommend any very large people coming to this property check with the front desk to see if they have a larger option as the bathroom entry was a bit narrow. My sister-in-law and I flew out to visit my son in Vancouver and stayed for 5 nights at the Sunset Inn and Suites. It was a wonderful experience. The standard one bedroom suite was spacious, had a fully equipped kitchen and a great balcony with a view of the street. The hotel was close to the action on Davie Street but a block away so it was quiet at […] night. The staff were incredibly helpful with buses, where to find bicycles for Stanley Park, where to go for a walk, parking my son's car...helpful with everything. I will stay there again when we visit. I was a woman travelling alone and stayed here for a night. It was exceptionally clean and pleasant and the staff were very welcoming and helpful with all my questions. It's in a convenient and safe part of the city and really made my stay.

This hotel was perfectly placed to service our every Vancouver needs. Close to all attractions, and the restaurants that were within a stone throw were plentiful! Dave at reception was fantastic to ask about all your travels, and nothing was too much trouble. Would stay here again without a doubt!

We were upgraded to a 1 bdrm suite and it was excellent. The front desk staff were all super friendly and helpful. Parking was free. Location was walking distance from the beaches and around the corner from many restaurants on Davies Street. I was extremely please with the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms. We took a Landsea Tours City Highlights […] bus tour that was excellent and they picked us up right in front of our lobby. Nice service all around!! This hotel is perfectly situated to get to Granville Island and Stanley Park and downtown Vancouver. We loved having a suite to come back to and stock the kitchen. Breakfast was modest but having a kitchen to put our own favorites in took care of that. Would definitely stay here again.

We arrived on a cruise ship. Ten minute taxi ride. from boat. The location was within walking distance to most locations. Shuttle bus was available at corner that takes you all around town. The rooms were were suites with seperate bedrooms. Very large and very clean. I have nothing bad to say about this property.

I spent hours trying to find a lovely, reasonably priced hotel in Vancouver on the net...that was positioned well...I went on the reviews I saw on the hotel-and boy were they right! The reception team was outstanding, nothing was too much trouble...from food and activity recommendations to searching on the net and printing off whatever one needed, they […] were helpful and terrific...all of them! The hotel was in walking distance of most things, public transport easy. The area is funky and interesting, with lots of ethnic restaurants, at very reasonable prices...The hotel is situated on a reasonably quiet, tree lined street. The rooms were spacious, comfy and well appointed. They do the "little things" really well...reasonably priced laundry facility, robes and slippers, bottles of water in your room, fully equipped kitchen. This is a hotel that "walks the talk", without making one feel ripped off by overpriced amenities...I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and would not stay anywhere else when we are in Vancouver again! My wife and I were very happy with our stay here. The staff was friendly and helpful with tips and information about the surrounding area. The hotel is located conveniently within walking distance of beautiful Stanley Park, among many other things, including the Aquabus. We stayed in a suite, which exceeded our expectations, with a full kitchen, very […] comfortable bed, jacuzzi tub, and a large flatscreen tv (great for watching hockey in the evenings...).
