Loved the feel of this place, amenities in the room and location. Defnitely would stay there again.

It was a very nice room and great staff, but the minute I walked in I felt like I was in a dark closet. Small room, tiny window with no natural light.

The best part of my whole trip to Utah was this hotel. It was in a great location, it was absolutely beautiful, the staff was extremely helpful and if all of that wasn't enough they gave us free wine and h'ouderves everyday. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Utah.

I have been wanting to stay here for a long time but the rates were always out of my budget. I have stayed at the embassy suites, the Marriott at city creek and the Hilton instead. I happened to find a great rate for a Monaco Suite and I'm telling you, this is one of the nicest rooms in town! We wanted a quiet getaway for the weekend and got exactly what we wanted. It was very clean and tidy. Very quiet and comfy. The only things I did not like that were the parking and the internet. Valet Parking was our only option and it was about 20 bucks a night and on top of that we had to spend 10 to use the wireless internet in our room. Our room looked directly into a construction site. We missed having a fish in the room.

We chose this hotel because they are pet friendly. What a great hotel. We and our dogs were treated like royalty. Very quiet, comfortable rooms, very friendly staff. We would definitely stay here again.

I really like this hotel chain and have always had good experiences. On this particular stay, there were a couple unfavorable things: the bathroom sink was clogged and the coffee we ordered through room service came without any cream. The employees courteous and helpful, particularly the valet. Hotel room was very attractive, clean and comfortable. I appreciate all the little things that the hotel provides such as the quality and assortment of items in the honor bar, the coffee/tea in the lobby, the wine and massage in the lobby during early evening, the jogging route available in the room. I even like that the hotel will provide you with so many more items beyond the typical toothbrush, toothpaste, etc. if I had forgotten anything at home. The list of items was extensive. The Hotel Monaco is perfectly located in downtown Salt Lake City, just across from Gallivan Plaza and one train stop to Temple Square. It is a nicely decorated and clean hotel. We enjoyed our stay.

The room was small but it was well decorated and the bed was very comfortable. The location in downtown Salt Lake was close to everything. We enjoyed our stay!

It was my wife and i's 1 year aniversary. They got us into the best room they could. The rooms are trendy and new. They have bikes that you can ride around the city for free. You can even give doggy treats to the hotel dog "jazzy"! We had a wonderful experience

Extremely well appointed hotel; immaculately clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Free wine service and neck massage in the evening and organic coffees in the morning. Makes up for the lack of free parking , but it is valet. Overall, extremely happy with the service, room and price. Will definately stay there again!!

The Hotel does not have its own parking facilities. The garage attached to the hotel is not owned or operated by the Hotel chain. You have to pay to get out of the parking garage every time you leave the garage. You have to pay $20.00 for more than 12 hours parking. My fiance and I often go to Salt Lake City and have stayed in a wide variety of the hotels there- and decided to stay here because it looked sort of up-scale and fun. WRONG! They charge you to PARK... and there is no other option, you have to pay money to park. The shower had two settings, ice cold and 3rd degree burns. In the pictures, they show big […] deep luxurious tubs- don't be fooled by that! I think they took pictures of a different hotel and just USED them for this. Very fancy hotel. The bed was a little on the hard side. The staff was very friendly, and helpful when I called down to talk with them. Ask them anything! It is near an Olive Garden if you're in to that kind of food, and also near to Squatters Pub, which has absolutely delicious food and great beers. (Very short walk). Wireless is free IF you sign up […] for the Kimpton InTouch program... There was a great selection of coffee and tea in the mornings. The only downside to the hotel is that there is almost no free parking nearby (you're lucky if there's street parking), and it is pricey to let the valets park your car. I recommend some of the nearby parking garages (there's one underneath that Olive Garden I mentioned early - I suggest using that one.) This is a stellar hotel! I stayed here with my adult daughter. Our room was spacious and had all the amenities we required. She loved the leopard robe and I loved the fluffy beds! You know you're in for something unique the minute you drive up to the Hotel Monaco in Salt Lake. The valets aren't just professional and courteous: They're friendly and personable. During our stay at this happy place, all the staff were great. The location is convenient. The vibe is happy (instead of the usual white bathrobes, they provide leopard-print […] terry robes). And since we were traveling with Petey, a 68-lb standard poodle, we really appreciated how well they accommodated him. No extra fees. And since I registered Petey for his stay ahead of time, he was greeted in our room with a bed, water and food bowls, and a personalized greeting card. THis is an excellent location for downtown meetings, etc. I was not able to appreciate any amenities, such as social hour due to work schedule. Staff was very friendly and helpful. This hotel is expensive in many areas. I was unaware of the $17 over night fee for parking, three drinks and small appetizer in the bar was $75. Would I recommend it? When we checked in we were given a room on the 9th floor that the carpet was wet, trash was left in the room, and bed linens were on the grown. Clearly not ready. Comfy beds with deep fluffy pillows. Someone has finally figured out that people use their laptops in bed; the light on the nightstand has an electrical outlet built into it. The restaurant is overpriced, the exercise room rather small, and the stairways are not particularly tidy (take the elevator). I've stayed in A LOT of Hotels but this far exceeded my expectations. The hotel is GORGEOUS and the rooms are decorated beautifully with much classic character. The bed, linens and pillows were top notch and it was nice to have Aveda Brand complimentary items in the bathroom. We never ran out of HOT water in the shower, if you like a hot shower, you'll […] love this one. The Hotel Valet parks your car for $17 a day. The Valet was always professional, courteous and fast. The only complaint I had was I traveled with my Husband and 2 children and I didn't feel there was enough drawer storage space for our clothing. Also, the kids wanted to swim and there isn't a pool. BUT.....the Hotel provides, upon request and delivered to your room, a Goldfish in a bowl and that made up for the absence of the swimming pool in the kids' eyes. It was a nice addition to our room! In all, I was completely satisfied and will definitely stay at Hotel Monaco when we travel to Salt Lake City again, as we do make several trips a year to this fun city. Continua a leggere

Booked on line on our way into town. Long day on the road with a 10 hour drive. We were told to go to room 801 on 8th floor and key didnt work. Called downstairs, and we were told we were in room 202 although room on card clearly said 801. Room 202 was very small and on the meeting floor. Our room was right above street level front of hotel and parked […] below were a number of touring buses. We felt that we had a party in our room all night long - very noisy. I stayed here on a business trip for a convention. Excellent location in Downtown Salk Lake City, 2-minute walk to the Salt Palace convention center. Very nice, comfortable, clean rooms. Highly recommend.

EXCELLENT hotel. The room was great - comfortable, loved the beds, quiet, clean. Great choice we made!

But in all fairness they deserve a glowing review. Great hotel, great staff, great restaurant, great location. What can I say the Monaco is GREAT!

I have stayed at many many many hotels ranging from the Four Seasons to the Bellagio to the Trump Towers, etc. The Hotel Monaco's staff and service is TOP NOTCH. The hotel rooms are very well decorated, comfortable and modern. HOWEVER, I have 2 nit picks about this hotel that left a bad taste in my mouth. 1 - THE PARKING! - Valet is $17 Freaking dollars […] a day and I DO NOT valet my car, so this to me is useless. However, to make matters WORSE, they have NO SELF PARKING. There is a structure literally 10ft from the hotel and parking overnight is $20!!! and you have to pay AGAIN AND AGAIN every time you leave and come back. I refused to drive my car for this reason for the 27hrs I was there which cost me $28!!!!! in parking. This is absurd and outrageous! 2 - The rooms are a touch on the small side. The room feels cluttered with all the furniture, but it was manageable without a doubt. Also, the TV had like 12 channels, and 4 of those belonged to the hotel. So really 8 channels to watch. Like I said, I'm just nit picking here. Overall, the hotel was great, for the price I couldn't ask for anything more aside from self parking. :-P Continua a leggere

We have stayed at Kim ton hotels before and were once again thrilled with the hotel and the accommodations. Very clean and modern.

Exactly as we expected!

The restaurant and bar are amazing. Rooms are fun (decoration) and clean.

Absolutely loved the morning coffee/tea and afternoon tea. Would have enjoyed the evening wine/massage as well but the activities that drew me to SLC were occuring during it :(. Rooms were lovely and clean. The only thing I was a bit disappointed by was the cost to park. It cost us more to PARK at The Monaco then it did to rent the car! It was comparable […] to hotels in other cities but just seemed odd in relation to the rental cost. The valets were very helpful and accomodating though so I guess you get what you pay for :). Old, quaint 4-star hotel. Charming, but not particularly a good value and missing some things I wished they had: coffee/coffeemaker in the room, self-service laundry, free water, snack bar in the hotel.

This hotel is buried in downtown SLC surrounded by other much larger buildings. Even with the address and a GPS you will need to drive around a lot to find this hotel. The parking garage is under maintenance and is designed so that there is no access to the hotel from the elevators and the parkings spots that are not reserved are many levels up. Thus, […] you must use the Valet service even if you don't want to. Be prepaired to pay $17 for the valet service each day, valet driver tip (coming and going each time), plus bellhop tip to get your bags from the lobby to your room. Also, the elevators to get to the rooms are in the very back of the hotel, which is very inconvenient for guests. All-in-all this seems like a hotel that wants to pretend to be all fancy and nice and aloof to keep its guests guessing as to where to park, how to get to the rooms, etc. I've stayed in rich hotels before in London and Berlin and they were much better than this one. If I was you I would save my money and got to a hotel that has an easier to find location, easier parking, easier room access, and less tipping needed. Continua a leggere

Very friendly service, superb location, wonderful amenities

The air conditioning did not work. When we got in the room it was ~80 degrees on a 60 degree day. We called the front desk who promptly sent up an HVAC Tech but unfortunately it still did not work. The hotel is in relatively good condition for $17 for valet parking in Salt Lake City is ridiculous. Every other hotel had free or much cheaper parking […] in the area (something I neglected to check before booking) Also the cancelation policy required that I pay the first nights rate even if i canceled a week in advance.
