Hotel Stratford, a C-Two Hotel San Francisco

Prezzo ottimo, camere molto piccole, in buona posizione perche la fermata del cable car è di fronte. Wifi gratis è una bufala, personale cosi cosi, colazione imbarazzante. Lo consiglio perche sono uno che si accontenta.

L'albergo è situato in una posizione eccezionale, si trova a 50mt dalla piazza di union square (quartiere con centinaia di negozi) e davanti c'è la linea del cable car. A noi è capitata una camera (piccola) la cui finestra si affacciava su un muro... dava veramente un senso di claustrofobia! L'unico ascensore dell'albergo è lentissimo, di conseguenza […] sempre occupato quindi spesso eravamo costretti a fare le scale (strette) e quando si è al sesto piano non è proprio il massimo... La colazione era pessima, da mangiare c'erano due tipi di muffin con un gusto che vi lascio immaginare, delle fette tipo pancarrè da abbinare a due gusti differenti di marmellate e una zuppiera di cereali per il latte, tutto qui... (logicamente c'era anche da bere ma da mangiare solo quelle tre cose che vi ho elencato) Il personale dell'albergo si è sempre dimostrato cortese e disponibile, nulla da ridire. Tornassi indietro andrei in un altro albergo sempre nella stessa zona anche a costo di spendere qualcosa di più. Continua a leggere

posizione ideale per girare San Francisco

Hotel confortevole e in posizione centrale. Ottimo per girare San Francisco vicino a stazioni metro e per gli spostamenti da e per l'aereoporto. Stanze un po' piccoline, ma molto pulite.

loved the location, very convenient and comfortable. Privacy is minimal but not to the point where it is uncomfortable. I would totally book at the Stratford again.

Very nice hotel. great location on the corner of union spuare. litle noisy if you get the street view room (but for us its better because the other rooms are facing a wall). the staff is very very friendly and helpfull. helped us with a smile every time. the room doesnt have air condition but we stayed in april so its good. but in the summer i think […] it can be too hot. Although the room was the smallest I've ever stayed in, it was clean and suffient. The location was excellent as it is on the trolley line and only couple of blocks away from the BART station.

A very small room and the bathroom sliding door was impractical. But the room was clean and the hotels location is awesome.

Clean rooms, comfy beds and a basic breakfast - all you need for the price (very tasteful decore too). Only issue was lack of space to put suitcases, but we worked around that and hardly spent any time in the room anyway.We had a nice high room at the front so we could see the action in the street below but weren't too disturbed by the late night "ding […] ding" of the trolley cars. Just in the middle of the city. If you are with a car, you will pay 27$ a day for parking.... the rooms are quiet small. The front desk people were very helful and friendly. The hotel is well located and in overall it is nice hotel

Great location for shopping and cable car. The cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. The reception desk is excellent. Lift is slow Room is small but thoroughly enjoyed my stay there and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. I caught BART from the airport and once I arrived at my stop it was only minutes walk to the hotel.

This hotel was so personable. Elisa the front desk lady and the other staff were very friendly. My room was small but the clean sheets and cute decor made up for it. Although the hotel is on a busy street, it was not noisy at all. I'd definitely stay here again!

after reading the reviews earlier I expected to be in very small quarters but the room size is not that bad. My family of 4 stayed in a double/double. It's not a large spacious room with lots of furniture but definitely comfortable unless you are a family of large people. The bathroom looked like it was newly renovated and the beds were firm. Our room […] face powell street so we could watch the trolley's. It can be loud if there is an event going on that night( we were there for St. Patrick's day and it was noisey) but the trolley sounds were fine. The Stratford Hotel is a gem. It is very close to shopping, transportation, convention centers, restaurants... and priced economically. this is definitley an older hotel, but the rooms were very clean and basic. The location was great, right in the middle of all the union square action. I wouldn't stay at this hotel if your looking for the romantic lunch tea time or for the breakfast, but for a quick getaway to the city, you can't go wrong.

The Stratford Hotel in Union Square is extremely well located, close to the center of the city where you can grab public transportation everywhere. There is even a BART stop close by for those coming from the airport. The hotel itself is small but cozy. Breakfast consists of toasts and coffee so plan accordingly. If you stay on this hotel, make sure not too stray below Market street as it's quite shady, however, if you stay within Union Square or go North or East to the financial area you will be fine and it's always well lit and populated. this hotel is in a prime location close to shopping and restaurants. The staff was great. The only drawback was that the rooms are extremely small and there was no control over the temperature in the room. We were very uncomfortable because it was too warm.

We arrived at Stratford Hotel after a long international flight, but were told we would not be able to check in at 3:00 because of a computer problem. We finally got into our room at about 4:30. Very old. Very small queen room, open the door & the bed is about 4" away. Window looked out to a brick wall. No a/c had the window open at night & it rained there was a piece of sheet metal & when the rain hit it sounded like steel drums at 3 a.m. not what I wanted to hear. The wall our headboard was on the stairs were behind it. Elevator very slow […] so everyone was taking the stairs. We complained & did get moved to a suit. Bedroom was the same & looked out on the same brick wall, but there was a living room that looked out onto Powell st. was nice & big with a fridge, and a/c in the bedroom. Would not stay here again. We were really pleased with this hotel the location was ideal, right in down town, and they have free breakfast. Rooms were small but spotless, save money for enjoying San Francisco and sleep right in the center of all the action for a reasonable price.

I stayed for five nights at the Stratford Hotel in San Francisco. The hotel is central and very convenient to everything, the cable car line right at the door, excellent eateries and shopping. I strongly recommend the hotel.

We liked this hotel a lot. It's located in the middle of a very fun and busy neighborhood and only a ten minute walk from the convention center. The rooms were small but clean. Good wifi too. The only thing I didn't like was the shower. It is tiny and has a flow-restricting shower head that barely gets you wet. Other than that, it's great!

We booked for two nights and stayed for another four! We so enjoyed our stay at the Stratford Hotel in San Fransisco. It is so central to everything, the cable car line right at the door, excellent eateries, coffee shops, cinema - we could not believe our luck in hitting on the Stratford as an online booking, completely ignorant of San Fransisco.The […] tariff not only included breakfast, but they offered afternoon tea as well - how much fun is that! My friend and I decided to go to San Francisco for a weekend of touristy sight seeing and we decided to stay at the stratford. We did not realize what a great location it was in. The cable cars run right in front of the hotel, which was really convenient. The rooms were very clean and the towels were nice and fluffy. Beds were not as comfortable as […] the Hilton or Marriott but still pretty good! Loved the oldness of the hotel, it was like going back in time. Elevator was a little slow.....oh well. Hotel is old, but very clean and charming. Set in a great part of town - conveniently located. Would stay again and recommend.

Shared a great pre-Christmas weekend in the city. The Stratford was exactly what I had hoped: a very affordable, clean, comfortable hotel right off Union Square.

This was a great, basic place to stay. It had a small, clean, cozy room and bathroom, which was great because all we did was shower and sleep there. We were a little confused about the radiator though, so it was either really warm or cold with the window open. Not a big problem though. Great location... Plenty of late night places to eat across the […] street and on the surrounding blocks, a few blocks away from the cable car ticket booth, Muni, and BART stations, plenty of bars and shopping all within walking distance. Our only 2 bad experiences where having our card charged twice; which they gladly refunded with CASH, brought to our room, and the shock of a $145 valet bill at the end of our weekend. Our Yukon was considered oversized, for an extra charge, and they also added tax daily to our tab. We ended up paying double for parking there. I'd recommend looking for parking elsewhere, as we only used our vehicle once. We had a wonderful time and spent the whole weekend sightseeing and enjoying the surrounding area. Hotel was located right around the corner from Union Square! Even though this is an older hotel, the rooms were okay for the price you pay ... they even offered an Afternoon Tea ... which was really just biscotti and coffee/tea, but still nice. Staff was helpful and friendly.

This hotel is in the perfect location! Shops, restaurants all on your doorstep! Walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown and right by the tram stop to get to Lombard Street. Hotel itself is quite old but as is most places in San Fran. Guy at desk when we checked in was very helpful for directions and suggestions for what to do. Small room but clean and comfortable. Walking distance to most sites, Moscone Center, Union Sq., shopping, Chinatown. Continental breakfast was adequate.
