The Penguin Hotel Miami Beach

Lo staff è stato molto professionale e attento alle mie indicazioni avendo una bimba di 20 mesi, mi hanno permesso di farle scaldare la pappa e ci hanno dato una stanza al piano basso x il passeggino. Nota dolente il vicino di stanza molto rumoroso e il bagno un pò piccolino ma per essere a miami in piena ocean drive è andata bene.

Abbiamo soggiornato in questo hotel un paio di notti appena arrivati a Miami: rapporto qualità-prezzo corretto, la prima colazione (discreta) è servita in un'altro hotel a pochi minuti di distanza a piedi, ambiente pulito e funzionale se non si hanno troppe pretese. Ottima la posizione fronte spiaggia di Lummus nel cuore di South Beach. Tariffa migliore […] per l'auto trovata al Municipal Parking sulla 13th street a un centinaio di mt dall'albergo. Incomprensibili invece i 15$ a giornata a camera da pagare a parte obbligatoriamente per breakfast, wi-fi (funziona bene) e telo mare di cortesia. l'hotel è in una posizione ottima su ocean drive a 2 passi dalla spiaggia e a 10 minuti da lincoln mall e da collins avenue. le camere sono arredate bene, ma troppo piccole e con tutta probabilità avrete la vista su un muro.la pulizia giornaliera è essenziale, viene svolta in pochi minuti. all'arrivo in albergo anche se avete già prenotato e pagato […] anticipatamente vi vedrete addebitati altri 15 $ a camera più tasse (obbligatori) per colazione (essenziale , latte, caffè,te, pane marmellata e delle pessime brioche) una bevanda all'happy hour, e teli mare.in definitiva consiglio questo hotel ma solo se riuscite a spuntare un prezzo decente . h otel grazioso e praticamente fronte spiaggia, camere con tutto l'essenziale e molto gradito il cucinotto con lavello e frigor all'interno di ogni camera, lo consiglio . inoltre vicino al centro .

This hotel was perfect. It's right on Ocean Drive and just a short walk from everything!! The beach is right outside the hote also. The service here was great as well. Very friendly staff.

yes I do understand that we stepped back in time but the rooms needed much help. If you are selling the Bogie and Bacall experience than do so, otherwise update the bathrooms and sleeping areas and at least install a quiet air conditioner that is (not) behind a heavy drape, get a coffee pot in the room, and rearrange the furniture. Get rid of the red […] transparent bed side 1960's plastic box. We were not crazy about the car parking and the rates seemed high considering zero choices. The breakfast arrangements, meager. We walked to a neighbor the next day. The people were great, the service was prompt and courteous and the building was cool but behind the doors, come on. The hotel was filthy and unclean. The shower was broken - sheets were dirty - not worth the $200 they charged me for a day at all. Only one plus is location - it is right on the ocean drive.

This hotel was featured on Hotel Impossible on TV, which turned it around to a beautiful hotel on TV. It is NOTHING like that in person. LOBBY: When you walk in, you can see they do not care about upkeep or cleanliness. The white leather dining chairs were all dirty with dirty hand prints on the top. The couches in their lobby were covered with an old […] couch cover that had stains and dirt marks. There were clumps of hair on the floor. The bar area was filthy. The hallways are very dark and narrow. ROOM: The room was disgusting. The floors were very dirty, leaving chalky marks on my bags. The beds were very old, sinking in on each side and very uncomfortable. The sheets had MULTIPLE BLOOD STAINS on them. The walls were covered in dust. Dust was all over the place. The handle to the faucet in the bathroom came off. FOOD: All of their food is made in the hotel across the alley behind the hotel. This includes the continental breakfast that was really just toast, cereal, coffee and orange juice. By the looks of everything else, I would never eat there. We had to go through a back alley to get to the other hotel to eat. VALET: The valet took 30 minutes to get my car. Worth it to pay $30 a day to valet than $20 per entrance to parking garage. the hotel was pricey, it's frustrating to learn you have to pay $19+tax/day resort fee upon arrival on top of what's paid. When booked I paid for 3d person to stay in a 2 beds room, but resort fee only included breakfast for 2. Breakfast is cheap. The beds were squeaky and uncomfortable. The only good thing is location.

The staff at the Penguin was the best we have ever had. We have stayed at much more expensive hotels and the staff could not compare to the Penguin . The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. You will have to pay for valet parking unless you want to keep going to the parking meter across the street and put in money. The staff we interacted with was nice, the location was good, and the view was nice out the front (I wouldn't want any of the rooms that look out over the alley or the back of the hotel). We only stayed one night before a cruise, and one night was enough. The rooms are old and dated and much in need of maintenance. Not to say they were dirty, just run […] down. The tub looked so decrepit that neither of us even took a shower before we checked out. The TV was basically just a fuzzy mess, nothing came in clear. We'll stay someplace else next time. It was a great location because I could wake up every morning and just walk across the street to get to the beach, but it was also a touristy area. There were many restaurants but most of them were not places I would chose to eat.

We stayed here because of the location on the beach and also close to shops and many eating establishments. There is a $15 resort fee per room which gives you Internet, 2 cocktails in bar, water in your room ( although very small bottles) and continental breakfast in another nearby hotel but you don't have to pay it if you don't want the above. The food was economical and very delicious!!! Long hall to our room was like a dungeon, dark and drab. Our room was small but tastefully decorated. Our room did has a refrigerator, a safe, hair dryer and ironing board. The room had lots of storage area. The room had a window air conditioner that was frozen over but my husband actually fixed it. Wifi […] was not free but could be purchased for nearly nothing. The room was spotless and was kept spotless throughout our stay by the maid. The room was dirty, sheets stained, and had an unbearable stench of air freshener. The bed was uncomfortable and the only window covering was a sheer, white veil which made it seem as if we were sleeping directly on the beach once the sun rose. For the price, the quality and location can't be beat. My husband and I have stayed at several similarly priced hotels on the same beachfront street, and this was by far the best for the price. The penguin theme is cute. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful.

I am very unbiased during my reviews and do not take them lightly or use them to bash hotels. This hotel is very small but located across from the beach, a great location, even compared to every other hotel on South Beach. No exercise room, I guess I overlooked this fine detail, and all gyms in South Beach are to upscale and "fancy" for my taste. They […] charged UP FRONT a deposit, and that was unexpected, and took a lot from my spending funds as I only had enough for a weekend. The rooms were run down, and I never understood other reviews about thin walls and hearing people talk clearly through them, but here I learned about it. Only about 5 channels worked, none of the channels were likable by my taste. Staff was wonderful and helpful each day we were around. I would recommend this hotel for a quick cheap trip, but if a person wanted comfort then I would not recommend this hotel. The rooms had no chairs, and I love a chair to sit in and eat, not side saddled on the rock hard matress. The rooms did have refridgerators, which is always helpful for me on vacation. The hotel itself was overall just run down, but if you fall asleep easy/quick, never watch tv, never eat in your room, and are barely in your room at all from partying so hard, then go for this hotel. I actually wanted relaxation, and regret my choice. Overall a good time either way. Probably will look for other hotel options next time! Continua a leggere
