Superb service, very friendly and helpful staff from the moment you arrive and greeted by the concierge. Bags carried direct to room while we waited by... the busy very pool filled with lots of kids, but I guess you get that in school holidays. If there is one thing to ruin a romantic getaway it's kids. We were upgraded to a lagoon spa room, however the lagoon is tired and run down and is in desperate need of a clean and there was mould growing outside our room. When first entering room there was a hinted stale smell, like 20yr old cigarette smoke soaked into the carpets, but could have just been some weird cleaner they used. My wife (smoker) couldn't smell it but it really got into my (non-smoker) nose. Room was large and bed was huge and luxurious. We didn't eat at the hotel at all, but went across the road to the marina where there are some amazing restaurants over looking the broadwater and gets a perfect sunset. Very romantic! Easy access to the beach out the back gate. Overall a great hotel but feels like it's well past it's former glory in the 80's, probably why it's half the price of it's major competition across the road. But still feels on the expensive side.
