Recensito da un utente di Hotels.com in data 23 feb 2013Hotel perfetto per soggiorni lunghi in quanto ha un ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. La mia camera aveva un letto matrimoniale ed un letto supplementare per mia figlia uno schermo lcd ed un bagno con vasca e bidet. Se si vuole modificare la temperatura interna della camera bisogna lasciare un deposito di 10 sterline per avere un telecomando. La colazione per noi italiani è perfetta in quanto ci sono cornetti, pan raisin (cornetti all'uvetta grandi e piccoli) saccottini al cioccolato, panini,nutella (proprio nutella) marmellate,yougurt e pane da tostare. Se cercate la colazione inglese dovete pagare un supplemento perchè di salato è presente solo il prosciutto cotto. L'hotel si trova in zona 3 ed è a 15 minuti a piedi dalla metro (ma c'è il bus 48 che passa ogni 10 minuti e vi lascia sotto l'hotel). In 30 minuti si è in pieno centro. Se dovete passare pochi giorni a Londra forse non è l'ideale ma per chi deve passare una settimana come abbiamo fatto noi è consigliabile

Per quanto riguarda la stanza c'erano armadi piccolissimi ci si deve adattare.Buona colazione e molti giovani, dunque alla sera c'era parecchio movimento.

C'eravamo già stati e ci torneremo.Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. A 100 mt dalla fermata Metro Gloucester sulla Piccadilly line. Ben collegato col centro e con Heatrow. "Ottimo albergo turistico"
Albergo di piccole dimensioni si sviluppa su cinque piani fuori terra e uno seminterrato, in totale ci sono circa una trentina di stanze. Al piano terra rialzato ci sono due stanze, la Reception ed il bar, al piano sottostante la sala da pranzo, ai piani superiori solo stanze. Di non recente costruzione è mantenuto in apprezzabili condizioni di conservazione […] sia nella parte edile, sia in quella impiantistica, La collocazione è ottimale vicina alla stazione della metropolitana e alle fermate degli autobus, i musei di storia naturale, quello della scienza e della tecnica, il Victoria e Albert museum sono raggiungibili a piedi. Il personale è gentile e disponibile, la colazione abbondante. Le stanze non enormi sono accoglienti e ben arredate, il letto matrimaniale è di dimensioni abbondanti e non di tipo britannico. Vacanza con gruppo di amici. "Ottimo hotel per una vacanza a Londra"
Abbiamo soggiornato presso l'hotel Ashburn 8 giorni. al nostro arrivo ci ha accolto una receptionist pronta a fornirci tutte le informazioni sulla sistemazione; il concierge era a totale disposizione dei clienti per qualsiasi informazione o suggerimento; tutti molto disponibili e cordiali! L'hotel si trova in una posizione ottima, fermata autobus a […] 20 metri, metro a 5 min; la nostra camera era tale e quale alle foto utilizzate per pubblicizzare l'hotel, ogni mattina veniva distribuito un quotidiano e ogni giorno trovavamo un piccolo regalo in camera, come una coccola quotidiana!! L'unico difetto dell'hotel è la sala per le colazioni, che è abbastanza piccola e talvolta gli ospiti dovevano aspettare che si liberasse un tavolo. Il buffet della colazione continentale era vario, con possibilità di scelta tra piatti dolci e salati; a pagamento veniva servita anche la colazione all'inglese. "Un luogo di soggiorno ideale"
L'albergo è in una zona tranquilla e molto graziosa (Kensigton, a pochi passi da una stazione della metropolitana dove passano le principali linee della città (quelle cioè che collegano con piccadilly, wimbledon, notting hill, westminster) . L'aspetto è quello di un tipico edificio inglese, bianco su 5 piani. L'accoglienza è a dir poco sontuosa: c'è […] una cura dei dettagli che fa sentire l'ospite coccolato. Le stanze sono eleganti e dotate di ogni confort, compresa teiere e biscottini. La colazione, continentale, è in una stanza graziosamente arredata e si caratterizza per varietà e abbondanza si spazia dai cereali, allo yogurt, a vari tipi di dolci, al pane tostato, alla marmellata, alla nutella, alla macedonia. "Una finestra sul "muro""
L’Ashburn hotel è situato in una zona tranquilla e si trova a cinque minuti dalla metro. L’ambiente dell'albergo è così accogliente che si ha l’impressione di entrare nella propria casa londinese invece che in un albergo. Dalla finestra della nostra camera al quarto piano purtroppo vi era una triste sorpresa: un muro faceva da panorama! La camera […] era molto elegante, silenziosa e pulita ma un po’ piccola e troppo riscaldata: l’aria non si poteva neanche regolare. Il letto era davvero comodo e sebbene fosse pieno di cuscini scomodi e molto alti non è stato un problema farceli cambiare. Anche il bagno, diversamente da come si vede nelle foto dell’albergo, era piccolo e poco illuminato. La tavoletta del water non stava su e nel lavandino l’acqua rimaneva tutta in superficie. La camera disponeva di Tv al plasma, accappatoi, ciabattine, acqua minerale, phon e cassaforte, ma per quanto riguarda i prodotti da bagno, a differenza di quanto si legge in alcune recensioni, questi lasciavano un po’ a desiderare. Non abbiamo provato la colazione però nella stanza si poteva usufruire di una teiera per preparare della cioccolata calda o del tè, inoltre nelle vicinanze si trova un piccolo negozio di alimentari e diversi altri posti dove mangiare. L'hotel è situato in una zona centrale ma tranquilla e sicura allo stesso tempo, 100 mt dalla fermata della metro Gloucester Road dove ci sono altre 3 linee centralissime. Il personale è stato sempre molto gentile e la camera era comoda, pulita e ben arredata, compreso il bagno anche se, ovviamente, senza bidet. La vista dalla camera era orrenda perchè […] dava sul retro ma non ci abbiamo dato importanza visto che in una città come Londra....non stai certo in camera se non per dormire. The hotel is in a good location close to Kensington High Street and only a 10-15 walk up to the Royal Albert Hall (where we were going). The rooms are nicely decorated but the bed was rock hard and even though we paid extra for a King room, the bed was just two singles, with single mattresses, and a king size blanket and duvet. My daughter and I stayed here for four days and were very satisfied with our stay. It is just around the corner from the Gloucester Rd tube station and the Hop on, Hop off bus tour. We found the staff pleasant and helpful. We had a small problem with the heat in our room, which was promptly and creatively handled. Breakfast was included with our room, […] and was more than adequate: fruit, juices, cheese, meats, pastries, toast and coffee served in French press coffee makers. There are many pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance (including Burger King and KFC if you need a fast food fix). I would definitely stay at The Ashburn again. We had a great time in London and it was made so much better by the location and the atmosphere at the Ashburn. It was close to an underground station on the line to Heathrow. "Charming small hotel in great location"
We stayed here on two separate occasions during a recent trip to London. The first time we had a fairly large room overlooking the street. On the second stay, we had a very small room - it was hard to find a place to put our things. Both rooms were pleasant and had many amenities. I cannot fault much about our stay, it\s position near the Gloucester Rd tube was simply great for Heathrow airport and the walk to the Albert Hall where we had tickets booked and the science museum was pleasent. Nice service. Clean, comfortable room, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Close to Gloucester train stop. Close to both nice local and fast food restaurants chance. "Book into another hotel for the same money!"
The Ashburn hotel is trying to be a boutique hotel which it certainly is not!!! It is not worth a four star rating...Sorry but that’s the truth! The website photos look great and then when you get there it’s a bit of a let down. The staff are okay, though on our second evening there we walked into the bar/lounge to find two staff on their own leaning […] against the bar. We asked if we could get our free drink only to be told 'Sorry no, only between 7 and 8pm' and then one of the staff returned to browsing his mobile phone. We were not impressed with that! The heating didn’t work properly in the room, there was a portable air con/heater unit provided. It worked but looked very well used. From the experience that my partner and I received we will not be returning to the Ashburn hotel and would not recommend this hotel! There are far better hotels available for the money! Nice Boutique Hotel In a great location with easy access to underground train. I found the staff to be Great! Very helpful and extremely friendly, always trying to keep the guest happy. Shortfalls were, small room (mine was #105) can't speak for others. Wish there was an exhaust fan in the bathroom for excessive steam generated from half enclosed shower […] which I am not used to. I have stayed at this hotel a number of times. You cannot beat its location both for access to Heathrow (tube station is 5 mins away) and the Knightsbridge area/rest of London. There are plenty of bars and restaurants close by but just far enough away that you don't have to deal with the noise. The staff are exceptionally helpful and very knowledgeable. I recently stayed at the Ashburn hotel for a week. The location of the hotel is excellent (less than 5 minute walk to Gloucester Road tube and within walking distance of V&A museum, Hyde Park and Royal Albert Hall). "A fantastic value in London"
Great rooms. Excellent Service. Free Wi-Fi, Free Breakfast and Queen Beds all at a reasonable price! The hotel is very close to the Piccadilly Line station, bus stops and the hop-on, hop-off tour buses. There are many restaurants around, and even a small supermarket. It is within walking distance to Kensington Gardens and a few other attractions, other […] things are a quick hop on the tube to central London. Getting there from Heathrow airport was an easy 30 minute ride on the tube (no transfers needed). The concierge was very helpful with theater reservations and other tickets. The only thing I would change is the shower door. It was very hard to move and never closed quite completely so there was some splashing. "Third Year in a Row at the Ashburn"
This was the 3rd year in a row I stayed at the Ashburn. This hotel is perfect for me. It's close to the Tube (Gloucester Road station, Picadilly Line goes to/from Heathrow), very comfortable and attractive, and they serve breakfast on site. We upgraded to the "king" room, which only implies that the room it's self is larger and has a bathtub. I understand that all beds are the same size, only room size differs with the descriptions; "queen" room is smaller and only has a shower. "Great hotel with a great location"
We loved the Ashburn hotel. The room was surprisingly large (a twin room) and spotlessly clean. The amenities were as described, e.g. robes, slippers, breakfast, small refrigerator in the room, etc. The hotel was very close to the tube - about 1 1/2 blocks and we felt very safe walking around the area. Next to the tube were a grocery store, and a Boots […] pharmacy. We very much appreciated the services of the two concierges who were very helpful and the young lady who served as receptionist.
