Traveling with husband, sister/brother-in-law. Our rooms were on the top floor and had opening windows. We could see the River Liffey from our rooms. "the oldest part of Dublin, viking settlement."
The staff were great, always helpful and 'real person' polite not forced. I would caution N American travelers that the rooms are quite small by US and Canadian standards but we were not planning any parties. There are a dizzying array of restaurants close by. We stayed here over New Year and couldn't have asked for a nicer hotel. The staff were really friendly and very helpful, the room was a little tired looking but very clean and had the comfiest bed! It was a two minute walk to Temple Bar so is surrounded by places to eat and bars to visit. This is a very nice hotel, very convenient to everything we wanted to see and do in Dublin, and quite reasonably priced. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. My friend and I visited Dublin for the first time and we were looking for a place that was right in the middle of everything. The George Frederic Handel Hotel was in a great location. It allowed us to be within walking distance to everything. The staff at the hotel were great. They allowed us to check in hours earlier than we were supposed to. We really enjoyed our stay at the George Fredrick Handel Hotel. The front desk employees went out of their way to be helpful and polite. The location is great -- we were able to walk to many of the sights we wanted to see. Also it was only a short 20 minute walk to Heuston Station. Short break for me and two teenage girls, lovely decor and room was superb, bar and restaurant elegantly decorated. Can't fault the rooms or staff. The hotel was clean, in good repair and well decorated. The bathroom was excellent - not at all pokey which can be a problem with city centre hotels. The location was absolutely perfect for us - close to the places we wanted to go and the street was well lit and felt safe. If I had to be critical, the bed was a little hard for my taste - but I do prefer […] a softer mattress. All that said, the best thing about this hotel were the friendly and efficient staff. They provided maps and directions, recommended excellent restaurants, gave us late night conversation and bar service, booked taxis and kept our luggage for us when we'd checked out but had a few more hours before we needed to leave. "Do NOT Stay At This Hotel"
When we arrived to the hotel it was 2 PM and our room was not ready. When we got to the room, there was a very strong, nauseating scent of air freshener. We opened the window and turned on the ceiling fan only to find that it grated when it was on. As the air freshener started to dissipate, we began to smell a strong odor of mold in the room. I had […] already called about the room odor and was told to just open the window and start the fan. I then called Expedia. We ended up moved to a better smelling room and a promise from the manager that our stay would be good if we gave them a 2nd chance. I dearly wish I had insisted on changing hotels that day. We were very busy on our trip and that first day was the only day we would have had to changed. Our room was only cleaned (bed was made, trash can emptied) once during our 4 day stay, after a request, and our towels were never changed. The hotel does not provide washclothes. Shampoo and hand soap are attached to the walls of the bathroom. The hair dryer is fastened under the desk, is at least 20 years old, & only worked as long as you continually pressed the button. The hotel itself is really in need of an update. The carpeting has holes in several places. You have no control over the temperature of your room. There are not sufficient plugs in the walls to charge items like cell phones or cameras. Claudia, the receptionist, is the hotel's saving grace. "Excellant location"
5 minutes walk from Temple Bar for all the night life and restaurants and good location for any sight seeing made this hotel the perfect location for our 3 night stay. Just far enough away for the hotel to be quiet at night when you want to sleep but no need for the expense of taxis to go anywhere. Staff helpful and friendly.Recensioni obiettive Hotels.com

"Excellent Hotel !!!!!"
I have stayed in Dublin on several occasions. I have stayed many times at the Jurys Christchurch which is just across the way from this hotel. I chose this hotel this time as the Jurys had a large increase in there prices. The hotel is in a perfect position. It is in a quiet end of Temple Bar, yet only a 5 mins walk to the noisy bars. There are 2 excellent […] pubs two doors down from the hotel.
