La colazione era poco varia e scarsa. Poco attenti alla pulizia dei tavoli nei cambi degli ospiti durante la colazione. La camera confortevole e pulizia giornaliera con cambio asciugamani e lenzuola a giorni alterni.

L'hotel 17 è un'ottima scelta per un soggiorno a New York, con un eccellente rapporto qualità rapporto/prezzo. La posizione è tra i suoi pregi migliori, logisticamente comodo per spostarsi anche a piedi sia verso il nord che verso il sud di manhattan, e il quartiere offre una vasta scelta di ristoranti e locali per cene e colazioni. Le camere sono abbastanza grandi e pulite, il bagno condiviso non lo abbiamo praticamente mai trovato occupato e sempre pulito.

L'hotel è nuovo e si trova in una buona posizione, a due passi dal Madison Square Garden e da Times square. La camera era grande ed i letti molto comodi. Uniche due pecche significative sono state, la wifi in camera funziona molto male (meglio nella lobby) e il pavimento che non è mai stato lavato (i calzini antiscivolo delle bambine erano neri dopo 5 minuti). Inoltre non vengono forniti accessori da bagno tipo le cuffie per fare la doccia.

Bellissima permanenza, punto ideale per visitare la città collegatissimo e a due passi dalla 5th. Camera non enorme ma comfortevole, sempre pulita e molto curata nell'arredamento. Albergo ad altissimo livello, se avete qualche soldino da spendere andateci. Enjoy NYC

Somo stata ospite dell'hotel nel mese di luglio per una vacanza a New York, L'albergo è molto ben posizionato, comodo alla metro , in una zona servita ma abbastanza tranquilla e a poca distanza da Central Park. E' la seconda volta che soggiorniamo all'Hotel On The Ave. La posizione è eccellente, la prima fermata della metropolitana si trova a pochi passi, il quartiere è tranquillo a qualsiasi ora e a distanza di pochi passi si trovano ristoranti, negozi, etc. Central Park e il museo di scienze naturali sono a pochi minuti a piedi. The most important thing to me is cleanliness & whether the bed is comfortable. The room was small but perfectly clean. The king bed was extremely firm & comfortable. Both my husband and I slept extremely well which is not always the case in hotels;

Very pleasant stay at On the Ave hotel. Two blocks from the closest subway station. Good variety of restaurants in Amsterdam Avenue.
"Construction and hard mattress"
There was a great deal of construction outside of the hotel that I was not warned about before booking my stay. When I arrived, I asked for a room with a tub only to be placed in a street side room where there was drilling directly across. When I asked to be relocated, they promptly did so but they only had one room left. I would have been very upset […] if they were not able to move me. On another note, the bed was very uncomfortable. Perfect in every way! We were pleased with the decor and the room. Staff was very helpful. Only a couple blocks to central park and subway. Surprisingly quiet too! We will definitely stay here again next time we go to NYC!

First room claustrophobically small, they were very nice to then move us. Next room had no hot water initially, then no water out of the shower head at all. My son had to go to sleep so we made the best of it.

Hotel had very good service, room is small but thats not unusual for NYC. Only complaint I have is the room wasnt to clean. Found garbage in the bathroom from the prior guest.

If excellence in service and convenient location are important, then OTA is for you. The desk staff and doormen were excellent and the location is walking distance to just about everything the Upper West Side has to offer.

"Loved On the Avenue Hotel"
I booked this for my parents and it was just what I wanted for them. Stylish, modern, and in a great neighborhood.

The hotel is only 2 blocks from subway in a very nice area with wonderful diners and markets within walking distance. There is a beautiful terrace with outdoor sofas and chairs overlooking the city on the 16th floor. We bought desserts from the market and had dessert on the terrace every night. The rooms are good size for NYC, Beautiful bathrooms.
"Construction noise ruined my honeymoon"
My husband and I had no choice but to to check out of this hotel after the first night of our honeymoon. We were given a lovely room on the second floor and were very happy with the comfort and decor of the hotel. Unfortunately we were woken up in the wee hours of the morning by construction workers working and walking around on the scaffolding directly […] outside our window. It was the worst hotel experience of my life. I would have appreciated some prior notification from the hotel staff about the construction. We sincerely apologize that your honeymoon was not what you had dreamed. We would have loved the oportunity to change your room to one the would accommodate your need to sleep in. At the moment there is a work project taking place very close to the hotel and the work begins approximately 7am in the morning. I enjoyed this place. It is in a nice part of town. The best restaurant nearby is Nice Matin...so good...French. During a meeitng in my small room, mu business partner needed something to eat and drink, so the Pringles ($9.00) and the liter of water ($10.00) seem a bit rich, and there is no beer. This is the first time that I stayed at a hotel in New York City. It’s located at a very convenience location, walk distance to the American Museum of Nature History, the Central Park and subway stations. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, though it was a room, and furniture and wall paper were old. The bathroom was in a reasonable size, […] but the towels were old and lost of their original white color. This is a four star hotel, I expected they would have some kind of information for the tourists , shopping and restaurants in the NCY available in the guest rooms, just like the hotels in other big cities in the US. I was disappointed to find out that there wasn’t any in the room where I stayed. The GOOD: Nice looking lobby, rooms are very tight (kinda expect that in NYC) but clean. The BAD: Just started construction of new building across the street (7am-7pm... jack hammering, concrete trucks, etc.) so if your a late sleeper, try to get rooms facing uptown.... we were on 8th floor facing downtown and it was LOUD!

The rooms were small, but otherwise the hotel was nice. They put us on the street side and at 8 am every morning (6 am our time) there was loud construction noise. My only other complaint is that most of the time I went on a coffee run it was empty. It was nice to have coffee service, but it seemed like no one wanted to take resonsibility. "Cleanliness"
I was disappointed with the price of the hotel and how it was reflected in the overall cleanliness of the room. There were hairs in the bathroom and the carpet was dirty and stained throughout the room. Many of the corners appeared as if they were not vacuumed. It was very upsetting. For the price I expected to stay in a room that was at the very least […] tidy and well-kept. Otherwise the neighborhood and location were perfect. It is a short walk to Central Park and there are many good restaurants to try around the hotel. The subway is also either two blocks or five blocks away depending on which line you want to take. "Location, but..."
The hotel is in a great spot and is generally good - clean, comfortable, great terrace available for guest use, and nice workout room. The not so great points: room was too hot and thermostat didn't seem to help the situation, the elevators are slow on a busy weekend, and there's not even a bar at which to meet people. I was in New York for the weekend and this was a great spot to stay. Close to everything and a mellow neighborhood to return to at the end of the evening. The staff were exceptional. Our room was just fine, small but stylish. I will definitely stay here on my next visit.
Great location, clean linens, even small rooms still nice and confortable, nice and helpful staff. I will recomended eventhout maintenance is not that well. In our room several tiles were loose and dangerus at the bathroom.

So I know that NYC is known for the matchbox size of its rooms, however, with only two carry-ons in tow, my GF and I were forced to hurl ourselves over the bed to traverse the room, as all of the available floor space was taken up by our suitcases. The hotel, itself, is very nice. We were complimentarily upgraded to a king suite upon arrival, which […] makes me shudder at the thought of how small the twin room used to be. Didn't seem to be too bothered by the noise or construction that other commenters have seemed bothered by. Our biggest complaint was that the mattress was ROCK hard. I slept through it just fine, but my GF has some serious back problems, and so we ended up pulling the matress cover off of my side of the bed and doubling it on hers; she said even that was pushing it. I know, I'm a saint. Everything else: Great location, easy walk to central park, and the Natural History musuem, lots of great food surrounding. We had a wonderful time. "Don't plan on sleeping in"
There is a fire station and also a new building construction zone directly across 77th street from this hotel. On weekdays the jack-hammering begins promptly at 7:15am. I am sure some rooms are affected more than others because there are some that face Broadway and others that face the inside of the block (i.e. no- view) Unfortunately ours was on the […] 77th street side and even on a high floor it seemed like the sounds were right outside our window. Other than that, we found the room to be clean, though tiny. The housekeeping staff was very friendly -- they even left some earplugs for us.
