A really beautiful place to stay.

When we first drove by the Charleston industrial area and realized our hotel was nearby, our expectations plummeted. But the hotel is tucked away from all that, and was near a fun and tasty Mexican restaurant as well as other recommended restaurants and amenities. If you don't like the sound of trains, you will want to stay elsewhere as the tracks go […] right by it. (I happen to like that.) I think another commenter wrote that the halls needed vacuuming. I'd concur - they weren't filthy, but had some 3D items that should've been picked up. Otherwise, room was sizable enough, clean, and looked like it had been redecorated fairly recently. There is also a coin operated washer/dryer for patrons. Exercise room was subpar: too warm, and equipment needed repair/cleaning. And the "spa" area was closed the day we were there - not sure why. I found the staff very friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was very comfortable and clean. There were a variety of foods to choose from for breakfast which I enjoyed. This is a well-kept hotel which I highly recommend.

This hotel is showing wear and tear and could use some sprucing up. The worst part of this hotel is its location. It does not seem to be in a very good location. Besides itself and the Holiday Inn Express located right next door, there really is nothing around it but an industrial area and run down residential neighborhood. To top it all off, the hotel […] is located about 100 feet from a railroad track with trains running about 2 per hour around the clock. So if you are a light sleeper, you may want to think twice about this hotel. That being said, the staff was very friendly, the hotel was clean, the room was large and modern with fridge, microwave, and flatscreen TV. We were able to get pizza delivered from a local restaurant that the front desk recommended for a good price and was very tasty. "Perfect road hotel"
This hotel exemplifies what we've come to expect from hotels: the convenience of free Internet, free parking, and free breakfast buffet. The rooms are comfortable in spite of the thin walls. "Wingate - Charleston WV - very clean, comfy"
Very easy access to/from I-64. We read a lot of bad reviews for hotels in the Charleston area for lodging in this price range and lower, but we were 100% pleased with this Wingate. Will definitely return in the future.
"Good Clean Hotel - Security ???"
Hotel was very clean and well appointed. Surrounding neighborhood was questionable and the security of the hotel was non-existent. Side door that required a hotel key to enter was duct taped so that anyone could come and go through this door that led directly to the hotel elevators.
"wonderful stay"
We arrived tired after a long drive, and the room was very clean, well-appointed, and comfortable. The full complementary breakfast was quite good, and had more than we could have needed for me and my five year olds.

"Wingate Charleston - Not the best experience"
Normally, have an excellent experience in this particular hotel. However, not this time; The king bed in room 212 was in poor condition: The right side sagged horribly, causing back pain. On Thanksgiving day, somebody visited the room while we were out, shaved, did not clean out the sink, and stole my deodorant. "Good for overnight stay on the road"
Breakfast was good and very HOT; constantly being replenished. Room was clean and of average decor, nothing special. Beds were good but not great. Pillows were fluffy and good. Not a bad place for the price. Probably somewhat jaded after spending a week in a luxury condo, tho!! : ) I would stay here again w/o hesitation.
This hotel is located in an industrial part of town and backs up to railroad tracks. It is a new facility, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. A very nice breakfast was presented. The railroad did not present any undue noise and we had a pleasant overnight stay.
"OK Hotel but front desk staff too busy"
Hotel is OK, quiet and pretty nice in general, bathtub had some dirt and mold spots. Tried to asked the desk help 3 times about a place to go eat dinner, they where too busy to stop and answer questions. The only issue that I had with my visit, is your hotel does not have adequate parking for RV's and passenger buses.
"Lovely Hotel"
This is a pretty hotel. There was a mixup with the room they gave us initially as it hadn't been cleaned. They switched us to a new room and wenet out of their way to apologize and get us into a new room. The breakfast was good and the room was comfortable.

Our room was nice, clean and smelled good. The housekeeper even left us a nice welcome note. The breakfast was good, the staff was nice. The internet was slow. When I say slow I mean slooooowwwwwww.

"Wingate is a Winner"
My husband and I started staying at the Wyndam Hotels last summer. We enjoy the quietness of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff. We both appreciate the glasses in the room rather than the normal paper or hot cups found in other hotel chains. However, in the last three hotels in which we have stayed, the glasses were not there. We do wish that […] this little "perk" would return. Other than that, we absolutely love staying at Wingate by Wyndam Hotels. The quality of our stays there will keep us going back. The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. The full breakfast was good. The microwave was a plus in the room since some hotels only have one in the lobby for guest to use. The attractions wasn't too far away,no more than about a 10 minute drive. The price was defintely good. Overall our stay was excellent. Defintely will stay in or recommend […] this hotel again. We found this hotel to be one of the nicer hotels in the Charleston area. Although our vacation itself turned out to be a bust, at least we picked the right hotel. I only noticed a missing tile in the bathroom.

"Everything we asked for"
We were travelling to Florida from Canada. Pre-booked hotel. 10 hours on the road. There were 5 of us and we requested a cot. Everything was done for us and we were very satisfied.

"Great place to relax"
This hotel is defiantly a place to stop and relax after traveling all day, especially with children. The staff was great towards us. The hotel also offered complimentary late night snacks which was helpful with all of us. It was just another thing we didn't have to worry about. We will choose to stay here again in the near future.

I actually booked this for my boss and she called to ask how much I spent, worried that it had cost entirely too much. The price was excellent compared to the service. Since she had to leave very early to catch a flight in the morning, she was asked at check-in what she would like for breakfast so they could have her a "to-go" box ready with items of […] her preference. The airport shuttle is 100% complimentary and 24-hour. She said it was such a comfortable bed and comfortable environment that it felt "like heaven". "Hotel great, but skip Los Agaves restaurant"
Very pleased with this hotel! All the rooms and the rest of the hotel have been updated so the decor is lovely. The beds are one of the most comfortable I have been in for a hotel. The rooms are spacious with different seating options so you don't have to sit on the bed if you don't want to. The staff was very attentive. Our TV was not working when […] we arrived and we called down to the desk and they immediately sent someone up to remedy the lock-out. The only issue I had was not with the hotel itself. The desk clerk recommended we try Los Agaves mexican restaurant which is just a couple of blocks away from the hotel. Our order had sour cream on top which tasted a bit "off" to me, but I thought maybe it was just me. Needless to say, at 2 am my stomach rebelled and the next morning my husband was sick as well. It was food poisoning--not a virus--as I was fine the next day. I told the front desk NOT to recommend this restaurant to it's patrons! Continua a leggere

"Charleston, WV--close to Dow Chemical and river"
Room was great--service was great. Wished there was an indoor pool. Lobby getting update---it's gonna look great when done. We were able to walk safely to a Mexican restaurant (approx. 1 1/2 blocks away). Walk was refreshing and food was great!
