FANTASTICO Continua a leggere

"DUN LAOGHAIRE ITSELF"
MOST ENJOYABLE. THE ONLY NEGATIVE THING WAS OUR ROOM WAS COLD - HEATER DID NOT WORK FOR THE NIGHT WE WERE THERE - BUT TWO HEATERS WERE BROUGHT WHEN WE ARRIVED BACK IN HOTEL ABOUT TEN THIRTY. SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT.
"Royal Marine"
Nice hotel. Friendly staff and good views from the front. Very relaxing. Free parking which is a nice bonus as parking is difficult in the town
"Royal Marine - Modern interior in historical hotel"
The hotel was perfect. Historic outside but beautiful modern rooms. However I didnt really like the town. Seemed to lack any bounce with lots of shops either closed down or run down.

"Elegant hotel combines location and cleanliness"
Stayed here before, from 1st opening after refurb. Each time the hotel has improved: reception staff were very nice; young lady on reception was polite, helpful and had an excellent memory. The room was very clean, was well laid out and bedding very comfortable. Cannot fault the hotel, between staff, location, cleanliness. Combined with a great location […] in Dun Laoghaire and really lovely internal decor, with views of the sea. Will definitely return. Continua a leggere
"Great Hotel in Dun Laoghaire"
We stayed at the Royal Marine Hotel over the St Patrick's Day weekend as accommodation in Dublin was too expensive. This hotel was beautiful, in a great area and so close to the train station where we could easily go into town. On late nights we had no problems getting a taxi home from central Dublin which was about 20 Euro. The rooms were clean, had […] free internet via cable and were very comfortable. The only issue we had was waiting to check in for about 1hr as the room was being cleaned. Beautiful place and free parking! Continua a leggere

in general the service was excellent especially the breakfast staff but I could not say the same for the service in the dining room for dinner. The staff appeared to be disinterested very unhelpful and unfriendly, they were very slow to clear the tables and I for one will not be eating there again.

"Surprised by this little treasure.."
Stayed in the Royal Marine for one night (27-28 Jan). When we drove in and saw the exterior of the building our hearts sank! However, we were very pleasantly surprised when we entered the hotel from the (free) car park. The lobby area is elegant with lovely views. Staff were very efficient & friendly at check in. Our room was very nicely decorated with […] lovely comfortable beds. At breakfast, staff were very nice. Pool and gym area are well staffed and clean. My daughter was fascinated by the hotel's history. Hotel has a nice buzz about it and they seem to be doing the business. On the evening we arrived we walked to/from Rasam Indian restaurant and had a fab meal there. Felt safe walking in the area with my daughter. Would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to stay there again. Continua a leggere

Really enjoyed the stay. We loved that we were upgraded and I would like to say a very big thank you to the Management and Staff. We were due to go in December but our son ended up in A & E and subsequently hospital. I don't know if this is why we were upgraded it certainly was a surprise but very welcome. The room was fabulous looking out over Dun […] Laoghaire harbour. Continua a leggere

"Royal marine hotel. A modern historical hotel"
A hotel covered in history but recently renovated to a very high level. Extremely good value. Well appointed rooms for the price. Friendly and attentive service. My only grip was that the breakfast was not fresher, but then again I am picky! And it was close to 11am! Thank you Royal Marine!
"Royal Marine in the heart of things."
The hotel is located right in the centre of dun laoghaire yet it is surrounded by gardens and open spaces so it really is the best of both worlds ad is very conveient to all ameities
we had a lovely time at this hotel the only thing that spoiled the visit was the cost of drink at the bar.i ordered a pint of lager and a small bottle of bullmers cider and was charged €5.30 for the lager and €5.90 for the bottle of cider.the bar staff told me the only charge for the drink not set the prices.a small bottle of cider can be bought from […] any off lience for about €1.90. this is good old ireland "rip-off" Continua a leggere

Had a good stay here. Room good size. Beds very comfortable. Staff extremely helpful at checkin, also bar staff & manager looked after us well.Overall enjoyed stay and will return.
the royal marine hotel was a lovely place to stay.on arrival we parked in their car park.I found it very hard to go from one level to another as the turns to each floor were extremely narrow,so if your only an ok driver or driving something big dont park there. There was plenty of car scrapes on the walls. The lighting overall in the room was quite poor. The […] staff were helpful and friendly.we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others Continua a leggere

Lovely hotel, fantastic food and great service. Hope to be back shortly
"Royal Marine Hotel by the sea"
The history that surrounds this hotel is fantastic ~ from Laurel + Hardy to Sinatra, many vintage celebs have graced the halls. I've personally introduced several travel mates to this hotel and area as an alternative to staying in Dublin City Centre. Easy DART ride into Dublin and back. Easy AIRLINK bus delivers you to the front door of hotel. Great […] for taking walks by the sea and through surrounding neighborhoods into Dalkey for shopping, restaurants, and pubs. The Sansana Spa is fantastic as well. Ask for a room with a view of the sea and you'll be all set. Continua a leggere
Very, very nice. Shopping abounds right out of the door.
"The Royal Marine Hotel - Really comfy beds!"
Our bed was soooo comfy, and HUGE! As we were spending little time in the room itself it did not really matter to us that it didnt really 'fit' in the room as the rest of the room was tiny around it. It was almost just a bed and 4 walls - but what a bed! It was very clean, and the bathroom was well decorated and very clean. There was no Bath though, […] and only room for 1 in the shower. We were in one of their lower budget rooms with no view, but as I said, it was perfect for what we needed and the bed was AWESOME! Location was great, you couldnt be closer to the bars and restaurants. One recommendation I would make is that you should tick YES to checking out via email or Fax. We had to queue for 20 minutes to check out in the morning, and had no outstanding bills so we would have liked to be able to just drop the door key and leave rather than queue. Very annoying :/ Overall, a lovely place :) Continua a leggere
only dislike about our stay was we were put in a room with a disabled shower that was by no means powerful and I missed having the option to have a bath especially after my long drive to the hotel. despite this the room and facilities were clean and confortable. the location is a lovely area with some lovely resturants and bars. The local harbour and […] shopping is good too. However if you are planning on sight seeing around dublin you are quite a bit from the city centre and would take 20 mins via train or there is the bus but this will take even longer, aviod a taxi it will cost a fortune!! "Royal Marine Hotel in Dublin"
The hotel's appearance is like stepping back in time very beautiful!! Inside is traditional but very up to date. Staff were very friendly and helpful. SPA treatments were amazing and the relaxation area was very impressive. Constructive tips would be to update the room guide to enhance the SPA treatments, the shower was not very powerful and there was […] a considerable crack in the ceiling which needs to be attended to. But these factors are by no way meant in any other way but to be helpful to the management. Continua a leggere
"Royal Marine Hotel A good place to relax"
Hotel is on rail line into Dublin, frequent and good service. Lots of restaurants nearby. There is a shopping mall and a supermarket nearby and the view from the hotel is very good over Dublin Bay. The rooms are comfortable, but breakfast is just standard fare for Ireland. I would stay there again.
"Had a fab stay.."
This is central in Dun Laoghaire, its got great views from the front of the hotel. The staff couldnt do enough for us and made us feel really welcome. The bar area is good, food is great and its definitely one of the few hotels I would recommend.
"The Royal Marine Hotel,"
The Royal Marine is a lovely traditional hotel almost right on the seafront. It is easy to get to, has free parking and our room was lovely. The bed was huge and very comfy. There was a long table and a seperate area with a leather couch and a table, bathroom was very clean and there was an empty fridge (perfect for the baby's foods) and faciliites […] to make tea and coffee. The travel cot provided was also very clean. Dun Laoghaire is great for a wander about and with this hotel you are right in the centre of it and the Dart is very convenient to get into Dublin - we had great plans but never made it. Breakfast is a bit pricy - we went to Harry cafe - lovely! And the pool (in the basement) in not really child friendly - my daughter is 7 months (babies any younger are not allowed in) but in the end we didn't use it - it is divided into lanes for serious swiming and there was also a class on. In all a lovely hotel in a lovely location, friendly staff and the three of us felt very refreshed after our mini holiday - search about for rates and offers - big differences out there. "Royal Marine - a base for Dublin"
For those wanting free parking, a nicely restored hotel with the charm of a different era, and convenience to get to Dublin via the DART in 20 minutes, this hotel fills the bill. Overall a very good place! My only suggestions are that they should have available a road map of the Southern Dublin suburbs, including the hotel, and that wireless access […] in the guest rooms would be nice. "The Royal Marine Hotel Dun Loaghaire"
Excellent location within easy walking distance to shops, pubs, cinema, Dart station etc. Room clean and staff very helpful and polite. Only downside was the as we were staying in a family room with 2 teenage boys the bed settee was too small. Gym/Spa facilities excellent and again staff were helpful and polite.
"The Royal Marine Hotel, Dublin"
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, our room was extremely comfortable and plenty big enough for my husband and I and our 2 small boys. There were a few annoyances though. On arrival at 5pm we were told our room wasn't ready and we were asked to wait at the adjacent lounge area. All the tables were either taken or uncleaned, so we had to sit at […] a table with used plates/glasses for 15 minutes. While we were there no-one bothered to clear the table or ask if we wanted to order anything. At the bar later that night we struggled to get our order taken again. The room was well equipped however the paint work by the window was peeling badly. Unfortunately our room had only a view of the back of the hotel. On the plus side the beds are really very very comfortable, we had plenty of fresh towels and toiletries. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and professional. The pool was a little disappointing, its dark and divided into 3 lanes, so there wasn't much room for the little ones who can't yet swim. The other 2 lanes were almost empty. I would stay there again, the local area is beautiful with lots of restaurants and walks to keep you busy. While we were there we went to the zoo and Imaginosity Dundrum both easy to get to by car. We also got the dart into the city centre which was easy and very close to the hotel. If you are going to stay there try out Harry's Cafe for breakfast, they do fabulous pancakes for breakfast and great coffee. Continua a leggere
"Updated elegance"
This large and imposing hotel has managed to combine a period opulence with a contemporary makeover - but not of the '60 minute' variety. All the additions and upgrades have been carried out with skill and care; Even the substantial new wings blend very well with the original centrepiece. The public areas are spacious and welcoming and the spa facilities, […] whilst not cavernous, are very well appointed. Underground parking is very convenient. My room had one single and one double bed and still had room to spare. The bathroom and closet space is in proportion to the occupant numbers. I enjoyed every aspect of my stay here and that's from a fussy traveller. Continua a leggere

"Breakfast Mix Up!"
At check in they mentioned a hotel special breakfast for a reasonable amount. We were in a hurry to get to the PowerCourt Gardens and decided to wait and see if we even wanted breakfast in the morning. The next morning we went to the desk and asked where the special breakfast was served. They pointed where and we went in. We told the people there that […] we wanted the hotel's continental special breakfast. They said we could choose anything but the hot food at the buffet. We chose a continetal breakfast then were billed a truly outrageous amount of Euros for two, not the special amount mentioned at the desk the day before. When I explained the mix-up at the desk, they couldn't have cared less. Though the location was very good and the view delightful, I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone. Continua a leggere
