Super 8 Motel Ithaca Ithaca

Nice location for our visit to Cornell. Certainly short of deluxe, but clean and quiet. Friendly folks at front desk were good with directions. Perhaps the breakfast bar was a little lame, but the coffee was better than average. Parking was easy.

I had meetings at Cornell. The Super 8 isn't the closest to campus, but once you are out of walking distance, Ithaca is so small it really doesn't matter. My stay was very comfortable. The staff was very pleasant on my arrival and departure. I plan to stay here on future trips.

This is not the best hotel in the area, but it is completely adequate, with friendly, accommodating staff and good service. Being in Ithaca on business and not being in the room all day, it was a comfortable place to come to at night. Wegman's (grocery store) is a very short walk from the main door of the Super 8 it was easy to get good meals and, with […] a refrigerator and microwave in the room, I could heat up cold meals and have snacks and drinks later in the evening. Great location for either Ithaca College or Cornell University. I'd probably rate this a 3-star hotel rather than 2: quiet, clean, comfortable. It's not upscale, but it's a good value. We're allergy sufferers, so reports of funky smells from some of the older, pricier hotels in the area scared me off of them.

I have stayed here twice now, both times for local college visits. You can believe the reviews that say this is a clean and well maintained property. The pricing is attractive. The walking distance proximity to a nice shopping plaza and restaurants is a plus. I was only looking for a cheap motel, but the Super 8 Ithaca exceeded my expectations. For an inexpensive motel, it has an unusually comfortable feel to it and provides very good services, for the price. With wireless, a nice little breakfast, and a comfortable lobby, I feel that I got more than my money's worth.

We spent two nights to visit the Ithaca College campus. Would stay again and spend the extra saved money on something else. Although the motel was not one of luxury, it was good enough for a place we did not spend a lot of time at. Basic room with comfortable pillows, TV, small coffee maker, and hair dryer in bath. Unlike other customer comments, […] I found the people behind the desk to be helpful and courteous. You can even ask them for a downtown map and they will not bite you. Breakfast room was nothing great. But, it did have fruit, cereal, bagels, danish, and waffles you make yourself. Coffee machine - good. Also has several juices. The drinks are available 24/7. Small flat screen TV with several tables/chairs. This hotel Does Have a work-out room. Had no idea until checkout. Its a small room with several fairly new pieces of equipment - not bad. There is a Wegmans grocery store next door. You can eat there or buy food to put in the room frig. The minimal amount of odor that people complained about is fairly normal. I only sensed it in the halls - not a big deal. Even the very expensive hotels have problems. Free Cable TV and free WIFI. Location is very good for downtown, Ithaca College, or Cornell. Noise level varied. It is not sound-proof, but most places (expensive/cheap) are similar. Upstairs a little quieter because it is away from the parking lot. Most of the time a quiet room away from the ice machine, stairs, and elevators is the best. Yet quiet is also a matter of chance - the people in the nearby rooms and in the hallway. I would definitely go back. Exceeded my expectations.

The Super 8 motel was everything I expected-- simple, clean, safe, and within easy striking distance to everything I needed. For this trip, I was spending each day on campus at Cornell. To avoid parking costs on campus, I asked the motel staff about local transportation options and they were incredibly helpful. I walked .7 miles from the motel to the […] downtown area called "the commons" and picked up the bus to and from campus each day/evening. It was super easy! Another benefit of the location: very near to tasty/affordable food options! Wegmans is right next door and the highest-rated Thai food restaurant is right across the street. Perfection. Finally, when I was heading out of town, the Super 8 was right on my route-- making it easy to head out without getting lost in town. All in all, a great experience for a great value! It's great to have a Fridge. and Microwave in the rooms. You could use updated TV's. Over all I really like Super 8, as it is near a lot of things plus family, and is always clean. CLEAN is very important. Whenever I come home to Ithaca I always check with Super 8 first. All other Motels or Hotels come 2nd.

This hotel is nearly ideal for business stay. It is more than adequate for a comfortable night, with good internet service, in-room refrigerator and microwave, and sufficient services (breakfast, exercise room). All the reviews helped me choose this particular Super 8. YES! A great choice. Ithaca itself is a rather nondescript town which has no bearing on the hotel. The hotel is clean and friendly and we found no problems w/ the food! And goodness! THe price was great!

Nice room. parking and WiFi Very satisfaying hotel !!!

I was very pleased and surprised at the condition and maintenance of this Motel. The employees were on their game with the complimentary morning breakfast with plenty of access to several different types of selections for this meal. The Front desk was polite and helpful and the location was convenient as the room was acceptably quiet at night considering […] there was a 24 hour Wegmans supermarket across the street. The only negative comment I would have is that the maid for our room was not friendly and did not respond to the substantial tip that I had left her the first night of my stay. Hence, I did not feel compelled to leave her a tip the second night. We found Ithaca hotels to be overpriced but there are few choices. This place is a bit tired, but adequate and serviceable in all respects, with friendly desk. Two stories, no elevator...hard because of some mobility issues. We could not get a room on the first floor. But, with a frig, microwave, and breakfast downstairs it proved to be a gem. I had wanted to leave the question: "Would you recommend this hotel to others?" unchecked because I am not sure if I would"; but this review does not allow me to do that. If convenience is what you are after, then it would be a good place to stay. Wegmans, a huge supermarket is right next door and you can get literally everything. It is also close to […] many eateries and attractions. The condition of the hotel and room need to be improved as the carpets are grubby. You get what you pay for.

We had a nice basic hotel room with mini fridge and microwave. Good condition and clean. We never heard any traffic noise or noise from the hall or adjacent rooms. The continental breakfast was fairly basic and a little crowded but had enough choices to satisfy us. It was a nice location with easy access to route 79, close to several major stores and […] an excellent diner. The hotel is conveniently located and provides good value. The room was well appointed and clean. Overall, satisfactory.

Have stayed here several times for one night while passing thru Ithaca. Room and bath are clean. Basic room, no frills but good for money. Location near Wegmans and other stores. Safe.

Staff were friendly. Price was right; didn't want to spend more than we paid. Next door to Wegman's Grocery with fantastic takeout food selections; great for picking up picnic supplies. Room had a microwave and fridge which was handly although the fridge temperature seemed to change from very cool to tepid. At one point I thought it was unplugged, but […] it wasn't. Breakfast very basic with bagels, juice, apples/bananas, waffles, coffee, sweet rolls and cereal; included at no extra charge. Convenient location. Room smelled like a chlorinated pool one morning after cleaning. Although bed was queen sized it felt smaller than our own queen sized bed. Didn't like pillows. Towels were very thin. Just thought the rugs in the rooms and the halls needed a really good cleaning. Road traffic could be very noisy. Our party of 3 rooms prepaid our stay 3 months in advance and I found it odd that all of us were placed beside the stairwell which was quite noisy at times. The room was nice & clean w/ fridge. Continental breakfast was a nice touch. It's located amongst strip malls and grocery stores

This hotel is located near some great attractions like the science center and many state parks with great views. Our two boys ages 3 and 5 loved the water fall at taughannock and we spent most easily three to four hours at the science center. The hotel was priced right for the location and the rooms were nice. Our room had a refrigerator, microwave […] and in room a/c which was a nice surprise. Wetland is across the street for all your grocery needs. The only complaint my wife and I have is that the beds were uncomfortable and the pillows were hard and lumpy. I would stay here again but we will be bringing our own pillows next time. I was satisfied with the quality in comparison with the rates. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Driving the kids back after the Easter weekend, I needed a place to put my head down for the night before making the long trip back. I needed something clean, no fuss and economical. This served the purpose. It was the second time I stayed there and both times the experience was the same. I would stay their again.

I stayed for one night here, and I couldnt have been more pleased!! Everyone was sooooo courteous, and helpful in every way. I will be spending a lot of time in this area, so this will definitelly be my first choice--Ill be disappointed if there aree no vacancies when I come back!!

A bit better than average for the area, OK for a night or 2. Friendly staff. Good location on rt 13 for Ithaca college, can walk to Wegmans. There's no golf course or tennis courts as noted in their listing

Booked a room based on hotel.com reviews, but had a bad experience. Building is old and smells musty. Room was not particularly clean and had no toilet paper, soap, or towels when we checked in. In-room alarm clock went off at midnight.
