La posizione è ideale: l'hotel dista 3 minuti a piedi dalla stazione della metropolitana, dalla quale si può raggiungere Time Square in circa 10 minuti con la linea 7 e la 5th avenue in 5 minuti con le linee Q e N. Comodo anche da raggiungere dall'aeroporto JFK con air train più metro (ci si impiega un'ora abbondante). Intorno all'hotel non ci sono molti negozi ma ho trovato il quartiere sicuro....diverse volte siamo tornati dopo mezzanotte e nè in metro nè in zona abbiamo mai notato nulla di pericoloso o strano.Camere e bagno privato della giusta dimensione, pulite (le pulizie vengono fatte ogni mattina), letto king molto grande, con diversi cuscini e molto comodo. La vista su Manhattan si ha solo dalle camere che si affacciano su Manhattan: noi non l'avevamo, abbiamo cercato una finestra che dal corridoio si affacciasse su quel lato ma non l'abbiamo trovata! Personale gentile anche se non particolarmente loquace. Unico neo la colazione: visti i prezzi del cibo a New York averla compresa nel prezzo è sicuramente un vantaggio, però bisogna sapersi adeguare: sono presenti ciambelle, caffè (americano!) thè e cioccolata da un distributore automatico, banane e yogurt (controllate la scadenza....), cereali, marmellate e pane da tostare, succhi di frutta, frittatine e simil-salsicce, ma dopo aver mangiato il primo giorno i dolci e il caffè ed essere poi stata male, nella restante parte della settimana siamo andati avanti a pane tostato con marmellata, thè e banana..... Ritornerei!!!

l'hotel si trova in una posizione molto buona a due passi da time sq e dalla metro.. il personale è gentile e le camere ben tenute, nonostante l'età dell'edificio. La nostra camera era abbastanza grande e la pulizia sempre buona. Ci tornerei sicuramente!

BELLISSIMO HOTEL IN POSIZIONE SPLENDIDA. CONSIGLIATISSIMO
Posizione.
Questo albergo di New York si trova a pochi passi dal Medison Square Garden, mentre il terminal della metropolitana di Penn Station Amtrak è proprio sotto l'hotel. Macy's e l'Empire State Building distano 1 isolato dall'Hotel Pennsylvania, mentre Times Square si trova a meno di 1 km a nord.
Caratteristiche dell'hotel.
Una succursale del ristorante Lindy's situato nel Quartiere dei Teatri, serve la rinomata cheesecake. Il caffè City Perk è aperto 24 ore al giorno. In loco è disponibile un centro fitness e i clienti ricevono uno sconto per l'adiacente sport club con piscina coperta.
Camere.
Dislocate su 18 piani, le 1700 camere dell'Hotel Pennsylvania sono dotate di aria condizionata. Tutte includono la TV via cavo con film a pagamento e il telefono con posta vocale.

Un po' vecchiotto e non molto pulito e luminoso..bagni piccoli si riprende per il prezzo e la posizione invidiabile!

la pulizia della camera e bagno : soddisfacenti; tuttavia, le lenzuola lasciavano molto a desirare: colore, odore; in poche parole non erano pulite ... ! La prima colazione : sempre molto affollata; mancava la frutta fresca. Nel complessso, era discreta !

La posizione è ottima. Purtroppo la qualità delle camere è pessima. Abbiamo soggiornato io e mia sorella per 5 notti. Ci hanno dato una camera piccolissima, con il letto praticamente appoggiato ad un armadio porta TV che sembrava essere uscito dall II guerra mondiale. Moquette sul pavimento (mai pulita con aspirapolvere..). Bagno...accettabile...nessun […] asciugacapelli (insomma..per una donna..vanno bene anche quelli da parete...cosa costa metterne uno...). Sono stato 5 notti in questo hotel e devo dire che è perfetto per visitare new york. A due passi dalla Penn Station servita da diverse linee della metro e a 10 minuti a piedi da time square, questo hotel si distingue per la sua posizione perfetta per visitare la città. Le condizioni delle stanze sono al limite dell'accettabile. Consiglio il Pennsylvania […] sopratutto a chi andasse a new york pensando di stare sempre in giro e rientrare solo per la notte. "Posizione invidiabile!!"
L'hotel si trova in una posizione strategica, a cinque minuti dall'Empire, a dieci da Time Square. Le camere abbastanza spartane, ma per il tempo che ci trascorrerete, direi comunque accettabili. A giudicare dalla Hall dell'hotel ci si aspetterebbe camere migliori. In ogni caso per visitare la magica New York è l'ideale.
"AMMODERNAMENTO"
La posizione invidiabile dovrebbe consiglare la proprietà di investire per rimodernare camere e soprattutto i bagni. Nel mio bagno oltre al degrado dei vecchi servizi igienici, non era attaccato alla parete( si vedeva chiaramente dove avrebbe dovuto essere) l'asciugacapelli, che per usarlo ho dovuto fare il contorsionista.
per la terza volta ho utilizzato questa struttura che è di gran lunga tra le migliori prese in considerazione. La posizione è ineguagliabile sopratutto in rapporto al prezzo che, se prenotato con buon anticipo,è estremamente conveniente. Se torneròa N.Y. tornerò al Pennyhotel.

Buona location per lo shopping, a pochi metri da Times Square, ma l-albergo e- impersonale, 1000 stanze, arredo scarso, servizi anche (es. internet connection a pagamento e solo nella lobby affollatissima), rischio di file per il check in, specie nel weekend e nei periodi di punta. Buon servizio deposito bagagli.
"posizione ottimale per muoversi in manhattan"
L'hotel è situato in posizione startegica, sia per muoversi a piedi che in metro. Time Square è vicinissima e ci sono due fernate del metro nelle immediate vicinanze. La struttura è discreta come le camere, i bagni e i servizi. Per "un letto e una doccia" è perfetto, con un ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.

Rooms are small and a bit shabby. Our shower did not work. The heater was too hot so we had too cool the room with the window. Staff was great. Breakfast was lacking. Convenient to the Christmas Garden.

its right next to where I work,t he price was right for 7 hours of sleep, workout room had good cardio and some weights.. its very old, walls are a bit thin, beds arent great, but couldnt beat the price for a last minute stay in ny under 100

"Don't Stay Here Never !!!!!!!!"
All in a few words: discasten, dirty, the rooms rugs like they never gotten vaccumed since maybe 20 yrs ago, the paint of the walls are chipping off and probally has led since its old and you see them on the hallway floors. The beds probally have bed bugs so be aware ! I can continou it's endless.

The only good thing about this hotel was the location. It's too old, the look, the smell and get some new bedding. The hotel has non smoking areas however if someone smokes they refuse to enforce their own rules which clearly states a $250 charge for smokng in a non smoking area. The hotel management is more concerned about the flight crews that fly […] in at all hours banging doors and smoking everywhere. This hotel should consider all guests and show some courtesy to the real paying guests. This hotel may boast 1700 rooms (old as they are) but whats the point of that many rooms when you have to queue for 45 minutes just to speak with staff on the front desk. "Hotel Penn- cold rooms but great location"
Upon arriving I noticed that parts of the room were not vaccummed. The room was cold although I turned up the "heat". The hotel is in a great location and close to most tourist sights.

This is our 3rd time to stay in this hotel and we should have learned from past experience that there is no service at all. Front desk is unhelpful, no porter service and key card always does not work upon check in. In one previous stay, there was a European tourist in our room upon check in at 4:00 am! Where to begin. This hotel would not be my first choice. It is cheap and my company had business there so it was more for convenience. The floor was worse than outdoor patio carpet. Bunched up and stains (and it was dark carpet). Shower wall had peeling paint and floor had been painted and was now peeling. Outlets were dangerously exposed. we found the Hotel Pennsylvania to be adequate in comfort and cleanliness - the price very affordable and the location perfect for our weekend itinerary. "Great Location"
The only great thing about this hotel is the location. The room is to dark and the bathroom is nasty. Definitely not coming back.
The room was awful it is dirty and stained. All the walls were crack the tile was disgusting. The sheets had dirt in them. Would not be surprised if there were beg bug.

We have stayed in this hotel many times, primarily because of its location. However, I have never before experienced the wait we endured to check in-almost 2 hours!! The lady who checked us in was very nice, but the manager in charge seemed totally disinterested in correcting the situation. We had pre-paid reservations, as did some others, and our actual […] time at the counter was short. However, many people seemed to have difficulties and would tie up a clerk for 15-20 minutes while the rest of us cooled our heels. There should have been a separate line for those folks, attended to by a manager. An express line for pre-payers would also be a good idea. the time of check in did not seem to matter as the line was as long when we finally checked in as when we arrived. This hotel is going through major turnover. The check in process is horrible. Customers were screaming in line because they waited so long with just 1 or 2 cleks on at a time. The rooms are grossly outdated and the "cable tv" leaves a lot to be desired. There is WIFI at a cost even in the business center. "very bad experience"
I stayed at this hotel and it was very bad stay. The hotel looks like very old and never been cleaned. carpet was smelling very bad. The room bed was not covered with new comforter it was looked like way old. The batroom was bad at all. just 1.5 out of 5. location is very nice as it is in midtown manhattan and penn station.

The hotel is very busy and the staff has to work as fast as they can. The staff is friendly but I never got the feeling that the hotel was a welcoming place to stay.
